Effects of cheated Pokemons?

Presto

Well-Known Member
This thread isn't about using cheating devices such as AR or GS.

For those of you who've encountered, fought, or mistakenly (Or not) traded cheated Pokemons, are there any side-effects to your own game cart, assuming your own is not cheated or tampered with? What about mixing records?

Of course there are some easy ways to find out if a Pokemon is cheated, like checking its ID, OT, stats, original level caught, place caught and so on, but what I want to know is whether or not it will have effects on other carts it comes in contact with. (The only glitch I've heard of so far is the bad egg glitch, but I do not think that is related to fighting or trading cheated pokemons directly...)

For example, doing a link-battle with a friend who has cheated Pokemons via cheating device, with your own cart without any tamperings.

the usual problem with cheated pokeon is making bad eggs (only during creation of them. not after) and of course actually having a cheated pokemon on your cart will get you disqualified from events if you are found out during any of the checks after winning. they will also not trade if they have illegal iv's or movesets for that pokemon.

usually you can 'test' a suspect pokemon by playing it in the linkup battles on XD if there are any 'obvious' faults with hidden stats, movesets, other obvious faults then it will be disqualified. The only ones that get through are ones that are made within legal perameters by a very very good hacker.

So basically there's no effects on the cart if it's traded to a different cart from where it was cheated, correct?

Because a kid I know has Deoxys, and I don't know if he got it legit or cheated.

I've been wondering this for a while, thanks for making a post on it

Well, it's easy to find a cheated pokemon if it's not where it's was normally caught, like Mewtwo in Island 7, and Shiny Charmander in Island 4 without hatching, but there is a program that can makes a cheated pokemon, but can be nearly or excatly like a legit pokemon, and no, I will not tell you what's program is called, sorry, but there is always a "Google", so use it, but beware, it will make you a cheater.......

....when badly done. there are some so legit you wouldnt know them from an origional, neither would nintendo if it was transferred to an unhacked cart. normally it is the hacking rather than the pokemon that cause the problem.

I notice a lot of the winners in recent tornaments had 6x pokemon all caught in masterballs. kind of suspect for the pokemon they had. especially ones like wobuffet or blissey that are only caught in parks or hatched!

where I live are no events and I do have a cheat device but i NEVER use it on my pokemon games. I do use it on my other games and I did use it (before read that they wil scr*w your game up) on my crystal version, but I never had any glitches.

theres a number of things that could happen
your box system can get messed up (think back to r/b/y and the cinnabar cheat), well my friends boxes went totally glitched after he got a cheated deoxys deposited in one of them
you'll be disqualified from nintendo events
you can get a bad egg which can really mess your cart up
and theres probably a heap load of stuff that other people have reported.

probably the same things reported by other people.
a cheat is still a cheat, no matter how big or small the effects can still be the same. just get someone to trade you the pokes you want, dont risk messing up your cart for the sake of hacked legendaries.

I have Jirachi with OT larry... It was in a used game I bought...
My game hasnt had any trouble trading or all that... so, I guess its legit.

And about cheated pkmn... I think you could use a GS or AR when youre far away from USA to get special pkmn... but ONLY if you want to mess up your game... I'll NEVER use a GS or AR, no matter if it means ill never get to use a legendary like Mew, Celebi or Deoxys... I prefer to keep dreaming instead of cheating XD

That Jirachi is cheated...

Anyways, I got a cheated deoxys and ho-oh (only ones I don't have...) from someone at the JAA event, and nothing bad has happened at all. I doubt anything bad will happen if you do it right. If you know how to do something, and you can do it right, nothing bad will happen. If ya do it wrong, it can potentally ruin your game. Oh well, I beat Emerald, so there's no point caring what happens now. It's just another Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal/Ruby/Sapphire/FireRed/LeafGreen. No point in saving it, unless it's to help out Pearl/Diamond... (Yes, I've collected alot of Pokemon games... It's become a hobby.)
