effort points.need help

i've read the serebii.com page about those effort points and i didn't unsterstand how effort points work.i mean if a pokemon gives your pokemon 2 effort points you must beat at least 200 of those pokemon if yours is lv 70 or more.this is a total waste of time.Is any more simple way??please someone help me asap!!!because i want to make my crystal party at leaf/green with the same stats but i cant because e.g i'm catching 300 different mewtwo but i cant find him with perfect stats at lv 70 but at yellow i could.

the game programming of leafgreen and firered is different than that of the gameboy color games and older. a lot has changed in terms of stats and the moves a pokemon learns.

i agree with apmastersite. the games have changed. in my opinion the only way to get a mewtwo with the perfect stats is through gameshark or action replay. the thing about that is that it ruins the whole game play and might corrupt the game. i would not advise you to do that. ;078;

yes i know but can i have the old mewtwo stats?like hp 415 atk 318 def 278 sp a 406 ps def 278 speed 358.and one more thing for ev training to max out all the stats i must battle 255 pkmn that give you ev points for each stat?that looks tiring.anyway,i'll try to find the best stats i can,i'll ev train all the stats and finally i'll try to fix a good party!!i'm i right or i need something else???answer asap plz!!1

Here's an easy way out:
Get a Mewtwo with "Modest" Nature. DO NOT Battle.
Teach it these Moves:
Psychic
Recover
Calm Mind
Choose move here (H.B. Dark/Fire Blast are good options :])
Now, Feed it 10 Calcium and 10 Carbos.
Now, give it the Macho Brace, go off to Lavender Tower and beat 76 Gastly.
Now, get to Diglett's Cave and remember to take some PokeDolls, beat 76 Diglett, if Dugtrio with Arena Trap appear, throw the PokeDolls.
Now, go off to Three Island, cross the Nugget Guy, and get to the other side and beat 3 Dunsparce.
Finally take off the Macho Brace,
Not so difficult is it? :]

That's it you'll have a Mewtwo like this:
Mewtwo@Lefties
Modest Nature
252 SP.ATT/252 SPD/6 HP
-Psychic
-Calm Mind/Thunderbolt/Ice Beam
-Recover
-H.P. Dark/Thunderbolt/Ice Beam

thanks for the advice but i used to have those moves psychic,ice beam,amnesia,recover.amnesia might raise sp.def only but you used 3 amnesia intead of six calm mind.anyway,why you put only carbos and calcium and you do not use and the rest of the medicines(protein,zinc etc)?

Because, they up the other stats, and by so, you wont be able to maximize Sp.Att. and Spd. Dont keep amnesia,Calm Mind helps in sweeping, basically as a pseudo-swords dance.
