Elemental Quest Version 2
RPG is Up now, late sign-ups will be accepted.
Okay, this is version 2 of elemental quest. I’ve tried to rework the system and reorganize things so that the concept gets across better. I’ve also added a little more info on what chii devices you may have. This version may seem a little strict, but it should play smoother. And Late Sign-ups will be possible in this version, which also means it can start sooner.
Setting/Plot:
This RPG takes place in a magical medieval world. In this world exist spirits, known as chii. These are merely spirits with elemental alignments. Most chii do not have personalities or names, nor can they talk. They are not the ghost of humans or animals; they have never been alive as we know life. There are ghosts in this world, but they aren’t chii, and they may only be elementally aligned if they were a wizard.
A chi cannot be battled with directly, but rather one catches it to obtain its power. This is done through the use of a chii device. When a chii is used in a chii device, it is torn apart molecule by molecule. In other words when you use a chii it is gone. Don’t worry, you won’t hurt them, their energy will be dispersed to eventually recollect and form new chii. The chii device then exhibits elemental powers. There will be no chii pets allowed in this new version, because I can’t have you getting attached to them! You may start out with a chii or two in your bag, but be prepared to use it or for someone else to use it. Please make sure you understand the concept of chii before signing up, ask questions if you must.
In this RPG you will play as a thirteen year old human from a small village. Upon turning thirteen every child is given a chii device (or similar) by their family to help them on their quest to become a man or woman. See the chii device section for you class for your chii device options. After that they travel to the town square where they receive their manhood/womanhood quest. Once at the village square and elder of your class will approach you and assign you to a quest. Your quest will be relevant to your class in this version, but may be different from other people in your classes’ quest.
Below are some example quests and possible classes sent on them:
(I will be assigning your quests)
You will travel to the field of speaking crystals, and return with one crystal each, however be on your guard for the crystals’ guardian Fiona, will try to trick you. (Possible classes assigned; hunter, merchant, banker, wizard, gypsy)
You will slay the vampire lord freeing the farmers he is holding hostage. Take care not to become his slaves yourself. (Possible classes assigned; noble, hunter, warrior)
You will go to meet the Malzin, wizard of the seas, from there you will travel to where the ice exists as land; bring back a bird from this icy world. (Possible classes assigned; wizard, hunter, monk)
After you have received your quest assignment, you are free to leave on your quest. You may choose to go it alone or gang up with other people who are heading off on other quests. If you gang up you may only bunny other’s characters if you obtain their permission. Anyone who bunny’s repeatedly or especially god-like may be asked to leave the RPG.
Chii types:
Fire- Fire chii usually appear as flames or salamanders. While fire chii create flaming weapons the side affects of use may include chii-device being to hot to handle with bare hands.
Water- Water chii usually appears as water drops or water critters. May appears as nymphs. They tend to like being used in chii-devices and may seek out humans. Water chii are very useful to farming chii-devices, they can however be used to make non-lethal weapons such as water cannons.
Grass- Grass chii usually appear as plants or seeds. May appears as nymphs. Do not have much use in non-farming chii-devices.
Earth(Rock/Metal)- Earth chii usually appear as stones or bugs. Tend to avoid humans and do not like being used in chii-devices. However when used in a chii-device weapon, the weapon it is greatly reinforced.
Wind- Wind chii usually appear as bats, bugs or birds. Very hard to catch, but will allow the used to fly for a brief time with certain chii-devices.
Decay- Decay chii usually appear as mushrooms. They are very dangerous and should be avoided. They often cause very harmful side effects corroding your chii device or your body if you are a wizard/witch/sorcerer. They are however very friendly and like to help people. Often during the wet seasons they can be heard singing in the forests.

Classes, in rank hierarchy:(I’m not excepting non-humans or alternate classes in this version; I’m trying to eliminate the confusion of the previous version. There are slight changes to some classes and a new class Hunter has been added as well. If you wish to be a healer, sign up as a smith [doctor] or a monk [religious healer].)
Nobles (Lords/Ladies) - Leaders of the people, originally intended for the good of the people most nobles are now corrupt.
Chii Device: Nobles usually do not have chii-devices, but rather talismans that contain the souls of their ancestors. These spirits may help them on their quest, but that is the only value of these talismans.
Wizards/Witches- Magic users infused with elemental power, they do not need chii-devices or chii to use elemental magic. They may be aligned and cast spells from one or more elements naturally. For addition elemental spells they will need a gauntlet. They cannot use non-elemental spells like sorcerers can. Both Wizards and Sorcerers inherit their magic. Wizards, unlike sorcerers have great logic, and often make puzzles to test one another’s skills.
Chii Device: They usually have a staff to amplify their power rather than a chii-device. They may also carry a flying broom or a gauntlet that allows them to do all types of elemental spells.
Sorcerers- Magic users who use non-elemental spells. Both Wizards and Sorcerers inherit their magic. Sorcerers have little logic, particularly in the area of math, so they are not allowed to handle money. Common belief is a sorcerer with logic would do something stupid and destroy the earth, because they have magic, but are not attuned to nature.
Chii Device: They can work staffs, gauntlets, and wands with the help of chii to do elemental spells.
Monks- Religious leaders trained in fighting. Monks are however not sent to protect the town unless all warriors are dead; instead they train the warriors, mind, body and soul. Monks and warriors often receive free food from villagers.
Chii Device: Common chii-devices are enchanted books or bo (fighting staff, not to be confused with magic staff). They books work as a sort of magical encyclopedia delivering much more information than could fit in a normal book that size. The bo when loaded with chii will create elemental based non-lethal attacks; gusts of wind, sprays of water, and fiery sparks.
Warriors- Fighters trained by the monks. Most are orphans or children of parents to poor to take care of them. Monks and warriors often receive free food from villagers.
Chii Device: Common chii-devices include swords and other weapons. These weapons create dangerous and possibly deadly attacks when loaded with chii; tornado strikes, water cannons, and the ever popular flaming sword.
Smiths- Makers of weapons and other goods. A deli or a doctors’ office (the kind who’s practice involved leeches of course) also fall into this category because they make their own good/services, a pub would fall under merchant because they import wine and beer.
Chii Device: Usually receive a chii version of a tool of their trade. For example a blacksmith may receive a hammer and a doctor a scalpel. These objects will be affected by chii, but results may vary.
Farmers/Ranchers- Growers of crops and raisers of livestock. They can usually find food in the woods.
Chii Device: Usually receive a chii version of a tool of their trade, such as a hoe that can water the field at the same time as plowing when provided with a water chii.
Hunter: Hunters may either hunt food animals, fish, and foul OR they may be monster hunters. They can usually find food in the woods.
Chii Device: May be a weapon such as a sword, dagger, bow & arrow, or bo.
Bankers- Bankers are looked down upon because of their contact with everyone’s money. Always have money for supplies.
Chii Device: Their chii-devices are usually rare and expensive, and occasionally they have more than one. Examples; Moral compasses (points to the path you should take), chii compass (points to a pre-chosen type of chii), chii clothing, (protect wearer through chii effects).
Gypsies- Wanders who get food and make money through entertainment. Come into a village for Quest Day. May have a weak form of magic. Can usually find food in the woods.
Chii Device: Usually have a piece of clothing or a flying broom as a chii-device. May also have a bo.
Merchants- Sellers of processed foods and rare items from other lands. Merchants are the lowest class, because they are considered greedy and do not have to inherit their position. Often travel with an animal. See the smiths class for more info.
Chii Device: Merchants usually do not have chii-devices because they sold them or their families/guardians were too ashamed of their choice of occupation. So instead, you may want to put in a pet (animal not chii).

___
Me:
Name: Amos
Class: Sorcerer
Chii-Device: Gauntlet- Left hand, brown leather with a white C on the upper side of the palm. Inside is lined with medium blue fabric that shows on the turned down part of the arm.
Appearance: Amos is about five feet tall with longish blonde hair and sparkly blue eyes. He wears dark blue robes with a magenta belt. He has a magenta witch style hat with a dark blue band. He also wears thick brown leather boots with gold plated latches.
Backpack Contents: 2 meals, 3 jars for storing chii or potions, and one metal earth chii bug (in one of the jars).
Personality: Amos is lazy, but not on purpose, magic takes a lot of energy and he has low stamina. His father encouraged it by repeating a worn out phrase, “Never wake a Sorcerer.” He is however a hard worker while he is awake, he’s just not awake very often. He is afflicted with the usual sorcerer logic problem, he cannot comprehend math higher than 1+2. So, while he tried hard he usually failed in school.
History: Amos’ father is a sorcerer, and a great maker of potions. He is not as lazy as his son, but often falls asleep in the potion room. He is also very forgetful and has a magic hat to remind him of important dates and appointments. Amos looks up to his father very much.
Amos’ mother is a rancher of sheep and chickens. She also makes butter and cheese. Her chickens look a bit odd and lay funny eggs, because Amos’ father has fed them magical scraps.
Amos first discovered his magic at the age of six while taking butter to the monks for his mother. The young warriors were out on a training exercise and mistook him for their target surrounding him. He managed to produce a magic shield to protect himself. The monastery leaders were rather embarrassed, and gave him extra coins to give to his mother. That was the last time he ever handled money.
