Is it just me or is the elite 4 getting easier and easier? In R/S/E I beat the elite 4 quite easily with level 40 - 49 pokemon and on LG i have difficulty beating bruno with lv 50 pokemon.

I find the second wave E4 on Fire Red and Leaf Green quite difficult (I lost purposely because I didn't like my team on my first try at the second wave). But you're right, the E4 seemed much harder in the R/B days.

But then again... Mabye the E4 has gotten harder, mabye they are actually using better-trained Pokemon and following better strategies, but our knowledge and understanding of the game mechanics and the Pokemon world has progressed much further and quicker than the strength of the E4 since the old days, making it seem to us that everthing is much easier... That coupled with the level lowering buisness would make it inevitable to think that the E4 was easily beaten when actually they have tried to make it a challenge.

Well, bear in mind, they probably did that because they made the E4 have to cheat less in general. (remember lance's 5 move dragonite)? So they may be smarter, and that is why.
Also, it could be that they want you to spend more time catching pokemon and less time training for the E4.
I think the GSC E4 was easier than this generation's, but this generation is easier than red/blue. I wonder how hard the next gen of E4 will be? Probably easier than this one.

I've never thought of that... The more Pokemon they add, the harder it will be to do all these things... Raising your team for the E4 for 30 hours then going out to catch 300 and whatever you haven't caught yet does seem offputting. And that 5 move Dragonite was a rite load of....

All I can say is, they made up for the easy E4 in Emerald (I have yet to get! >.<) with the Match Call and Battle Frontier.

Hmm...yeah. It does seem that way. In RBY I remember beating the Elite 4 at level 60. In RS I've beaten the Elite 4 at level 40. Either it's got easier or I have got better, but I still have to be at least level 50 in LG.

its gotten easyer, because the elite four is still harder on RBY even after playing the thrid gen, nintendo just made them easier to help noobs :D

I beat the Elite 4 in Emerald many times already. It's quite easy to beat them if your Pokemon's levels are high.

i think all of the Elite 4's are easy if you think about it. All of the members are like gym leaders (based on they all train a speicfic type of pokemon)

Mangekyo Sharingan

arent they lovely?
E4 = EASY!!! i only used one of my pokemon my Swampert the first time and just for fun and to train i used all my pokemon the second time
