I need some help with the ELite-4 in Leaf Green. I'm more a 1st Generation player, so this IV EV stuff is new for me and i'm stuck on a team I can't win and I only have level 40-43 pkmn. My starter was Bulbasaur now level 42 final form. I did Elite 4 in Sapphire, but that was with 2 legendaries and level 30 pkmn (noobish I know) . Can I get a team sugestion, i'm in a pickle here.

what pokemon do you have on your team? lvl 40-43 is.... quite low. :/

I love Dratini's :D
You need to train your pokemon more and it's not a race.

First, your team does not necisarily (sp?) have to be trained a million level above the E4, but I'd say at least lvl. 50. Try one island, outside of ember spa, and use the vs seeker on those fighting trainers. Another place is the patch of grass south of Pallet town that yeilds nothing but tangela.

If you could give us your team, we could swap some pokemon in and out, etc. But until you do that, I can only give so much help.

Which E4 are we dealing with? *looks* Okay, so you've got Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, Lance, and Gary.
Lorelei uses ice/water; I'd suggest getting a raichu w/brick break. Also, something with bite, like a vaporeon, would be good for slowbro and jynx.
Bruno is rock/ground/fighting; use that vaporeon (or some other water type) on the two onix, and a psychic type on the hitmos and machamp. You could use a flying type, but they have lower sp. def. A slowbro can take all five, if you don't mind the low speed. (I did fine with a slowbro)
Agatha is poison/ghost; again, a good psychic type like slowbro comes in handy here. You can use that Raichu on golbat and a ground type on arbok; for the other three, a fast spychic type or something with bite will do.
Finally, we come to Lance. Back to that raichu on gyrados; for the rest, put ice beam on your water type.
Finally, we come to gary. I can't give much help on him unless I know what your starter was; but I can help you with the first three. Use Raichu (suprise!) on Pigeot and Gyrados (if he has one, it's based on your starter), your water type on rhydon, and that poke with bite on alakazam.

Overall, I would suggest a Raichu with brick break, and a vaporeon with bite or a Slowbro. If you don't use slowbro, also inlude a good psychic type. Pick the others at your discretion.
Good luck!

But though you need to teach your pokemon a cool move if you just go to the move deleter. Use them wiseley not good ways.

Ok, Looks like my team for the Elite Four will be:
Slowbro
Haunter
Vaporeon
Raichu
Venusaur
...not sure...
i'm gunna start the E4 when they all hit 50
Anyone know what my 6th should be, was thinking of finding a Dratini and training him up, also whats a good Haunter move set he is currently lv.33 and knows: Shadow Punch, Confuse Ray, Dream Eater (pointless w/o hypnosis), and Night Shade.

You don't really need a 6th, you should be able to do it with 5 lv50's.

EDIT:JUST BEAT GARY(RED) WOOT!

You need, for the Elite 4:

One high-level Fire-type - Arcanine, Ninetales, Charizard [Fire-Flying] and Magmar are great.
One high-level Water/Ice-type - Lapras, Cloyster and Jynx [Ice-Psychic] are great picks.
One high-level Electric-type - Raichu, Magneton and Electabuzz are fantastic.
One high-level Psychic-type - Alakazam, Gengar [Ghost-Poison] with Psychic, Espeon or Hypno, if you want diversity.
One Dark-type - Houndoom is basically the only one that's worthwhile [Dark-Fire], or any Pokemon with a high Special Attack and great Dark-type moves like Crunch.

Each Elite is powerful, so you will need great strategy to overcome them. Go for type advantages and try to defeat them without taking much damage. If you have a team in their mid 50s to 60s, you are set. Good luck.

My Pokemon were at levels 50-55 when I beat the Elite Four. Also as they use healing items on their Pokemon when their HP gets low, the best thing to do would be to chip away at their HP until it's yellow then hit with a powerful attack.

I set myself a challenge, to beat the elite 4 with only the 3 starting pokemon (Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard) at levels no higher than 55. Also without using any TM's on them. And i done it but with the help of a few items. If you find it that difficult and you cant be bothered to train. Then buy stuff like x special etc. and plently of full restores and you should have no problem. May be expensive but its worth it and you basicly get the money back when you beat the elite 4.
