As many of you may know, I am very upset about the rules NoA decided on for the Journey Across America tour. I sent this email to encourage them to make some changes:
I sent this to feeback@pokemon.com. I don't know if this is the right place to send it to, but if it isn't, then I'll send it again. I urge everyone who wants the tournament to live up to expectations to contact NoA and complain about these rules. Please be respectful of them. They don't have to have any events at all. Just tell them your concerns in a nice way, and they may notice if a lot of people talk to them. Thanks.
My email said:Hello. I am very excited that the Journey Across America tour is coming to my town this summer. However, I am disappointed in the rules you have decided on for the tournament. You have not put any restrictions on legendary Pokemon, and you have only allowed the use of one of the same kind of item per team.
As you know, many legendary Pokemon have stats higher than those of most regular Pokemon, and a team that isn't entirely made up of legendary Pokemon will not stand much of a chance, regardless of the skill of the player. While you have banned Deoxys, Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi, you still permit other extremely powerful Pokemon such as Groudon, Mewtwo, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Ho-oh, and Lugia. If you do not put any more limitations in the rules, every battle will involve these Pokemon and will not be very interesting or fun. You have put limitations on legendary Pokemon on all of your other tournaments, so why not this one?
Another rule that seems confusing to me is the item restriction rule. I don't understand the point of this rule, and it seems to do nothing except mess up strategies and make battles rely heavily on luck. This will allow unskilled players to beat skilled players and essentially turn just about every battle into a game of chance.
If these rule are not changed, then I'm afraid all the battles will be reduced to luck-based slug-fests between high-powered legendary Pokemon and not fun and entertaining games of skill where players can demonstrate their unique strategies and teams. I really look forward to the event, and I just wanted to point out some things I've been thinking about. Thank you very much for making such a fun and interactive franchise. I can't wait for Celebi!
Thanks again,
A devoted Pokemon trainer
