Emerald General Purpose Team

I just need a team to make it through most aspects of the Emerald game. For one thing I can't decide what water type would be best -- my team right now is:

Combusken - Lv. 38
Ember
Double Kick
Peck
Slash

Linoone - Lv. 34
Surf
Rock Smash
Headbutt
Fury Swipes

Gardevoir - Lv. 35
Confusion
Psychic
Imprison
Teleport

Machoke - Lv. 35
Low Kick
Seismic Toss
Strength
Vital Throw

Gyarados - Lv. 27 (I just got this one)
Tackle
Bite
Dragon Rage
Splash

Manectric - Lv. 34
Spark
Thunder Wave
Quick Attack
Roar

Any suggestions? Both movesets and possible other Pokemon to exchange. Thank you.

I've got a major overhaul...and you really need a Pokemon that can take a hit. I'd suggest Snorlax here.

Blaziken @ Leftovers
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Sky Uppercut
- Rock Slide
- Fire Blast

Linoone @ Leftovers
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Belly Drum
- Extremespeed
- Shadow Ball

Gardevoir @ Leftovers
Modest Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Will-o-wisp

[Having Machamp makes two Fighting-types on the same team...]

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave

Manectric @ Petaya Berry
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Crunch
- [Filler]

Thanks! How do I get so many leftovers? And can you get Snorlax in Emerald? Sorry -- I'm only to the 4th Badge.

You can get leftovers from Leaf Green/Fire Red, they are under where the Snorlax were. Use the Itemfinder. Another way is to exchange battle points in the battle frontier, Leftovers are 48 BP. In Ruby/Sapphire, just win over 35 matches in a row in the Battle Tower, but it is random. You cannot get Snorlax in Emerald, you have to trade/breed from the two snorlax in Leaf Green/Fire Red.

Okay. Thank you. But doesn't this team leave me with no water type moves at all?

Along with what Nine Thou said, for Manectric's last move, there's always HP Special/Thunder Wave. Unfortunetly, this cool Pokemon has a terrible move pool. -_-

Whats a "makoke?"

No.

Take out Machamp and add in Snorlax.

Snorlax @ Leftovers.
Enough ev's for 500HP, 300Atk, and the rest in Sp.Def
Careful (+Sp. Def, -Sp.Atk) / Impish (+Def, -Sp. Atk) nature
Trait: Thick Fat
-Curse
-Body Slam
-Shadow Ball / Earthquake (i suggest SB)
-Rest.

You're right, but almost every type that the Water-type is supereffective against (Rock and Fire but not Ground) is covered by my suggestion. You can even slot in Ice Punch somewhere on Gardevoir if hitting Ground-types supereffectively matters that much. Gyarados is horrid with special moves anyways.
