Don’t give a Pokémon two attacking moves of the same type.
Don’t use any HM moves on your main Pokémon except for Surf. All the other HM moves are bad. Teach HM moves to Pokémon you’re not going to train.

It's also an bad idea to use three water HMs on Sharpedo. It's better to use HM slaves for that sort of thing.
