Emerald version 2???

I've had a check on the search area but no one I can find has mentioned this before, but it interests me. On Ebay & in a few online stores I've seen the same old Emerald box with Rayquaza in a different pose with the title expanded to read "Version 2"

My question is, is this is a dodgy game? If not, what's different? I've held off buying Emerald until I can find out for sure. Any info would be welcome, thanks

It probably is a dodgy game. There is no such thing as Version 2. There are alot of fake Emeralds on ebay at the moment, purchase it new from a shop, it would basically be the same price at the moment as a 2nd hand version.

Whatever it is, don't buy it. It's most likely fake, so just buy the original version which has been confirmed by about everyone who plays it that it works and is the real game.

The only thing it could be is that maybe you mistook it for something that related to a different country like maybe region 2?
rayquazza does come in slightly different poses on different country boxes if i remember correctly but you want to make sure you do get the right country one if you ever plan on linking up to the gamecube.

That does sound like a fake. Never seen a version 2 on some of the sites I buy my games from. I wouldn't buy it.

Sounds like a hoax. This is Pokemon, not Sims. There are no expansion packs.

Most likely fake. If I were you, I wouldn't buy it. The regular Emerald works fine.

This version 2 is 100% fake and there are lots of fake pokemon games on Ebay

Don't worry, I know all about the difference in regions, & I made no mistake. Here's the image of the box itself. It probably is fake, but it's one of the most convincing fakes I've ever seen.

That's what I don't understand either. I've been dealing with video game systems for a very long time, & have imported a lot of systems & games, & I've seen it all as far as bootlegs & pirate carts go, but this? This is just unusual, & I'm really not sure what to make of it.

so far my research into it reveals it may actually be a real game....
a GBA version of the ex card games
there is mention of a version 2 of EX:emerald cards for gba but that's all i've found
this is what he told me

I've never seen that boxart before, but even if it is real (which I doubt), why don't you just buy a new game from a game store? That is a bit expensive for 2nd hand

It could be someone's hack version...you know, fans can write their own code for the GBA. I have a friend who writes GBA games just for kicks. They may just be pulling a fast one by putting it in a real-looking box.

Wow, that art looks pretty cool. I wouldn't be fooled, of course (as I always check the Serebii main site for confirmation of anything).
