Not open for further replies.
Well, this is the second, third, and fourth part of Eontios. I couldn't post the entire story on to one page, it was way too long. Well, here it is.

Part II: Altomare Region

Since Lugia had defeated Burn Leader Flames, the champion, he decided that it was time to move on to another region. The question was, where? Most importantly, he wanted a fresh start. Lugia left his steel pokemon in Professor Redwood's research laboratory. Then he was going to ride a ferry toward Eon town, but Professor Redwood stopped him.
"The Altomare Region is a dangerous place, Lugia," he said. "There are more thieves there than here, now that you destroyed Team Burn."
"Yeah, but how bad can it be?" Lugia wondered.
"Very," Professor Redwood said. "Now, it'll Pokemon much, much, stronger than the current team you have, even with Ho-oh and Metagross. However, there have been reports about a mysterious pokemon, Latios, lurking around this region."
"What is it?" Lugia asked. "And why here?"
"It is said that Latios only opens his heart to the most compassionate trainers. I have a hunch that it's looking for you. Strangely, there have been sighting of herds of Latios and Latias. Legendaries are usually on of a kind."
"How do I catch it without having to harm it, Professor?" Lugia asked. "All of my pokemon might make it accidentally faint."
"Take this Master Ball," Professor Redwood said simply. "Just throw it at Latios when you meet him. I suggest that you wait in the forest for him. Latios don't like to around other people, besides the ones they seek."
Lugia ran off toward the forest. Surely Latios would be able to defeat the new gang of thieves. If not, who can?
Lugia waited. Just as Professor Redwood said, it appeared in a glowing ball of light. Lugia threw the Master Ball at it. It did not struggle against the ball, and was caught.
Lugia hurried off to the Lab again. He released Latios to show Professor Redwood. However, it hid timidly behind Lugia.
"Hmmm..." the Professor mused. "This is a fine Latios. There is one more thing that you must have before you begin."
"What else would I need?" Lugia said.
"This," the Professor said. He showed a strange device with shoulder and forearm armor. "This is a snag machine," he said. "The gang of thieves, Team Shadow, aims to make the entire world full of shadow pokemon, which are evil pokemon. You must make them friendly again by being kind to them. You can also cure them with special icons. All shadow pokemon are pokemon of trainers, however. You must capture them by throwing a ball with this device. To make it easier, just weaken them, and give a status condition if possible."
"Okay." Lugia said, and put the machine on, testing it out. Latios, meanwhile, was cautiously peering at another device on the Professor's table. It gave a jolt when it opened.
Professor Redwood chuckled. "Lugia, that's a ShadowNav. It'll record all the pokemon you've seen or caught, like a pokedex. It also has a map, and a gauge detector to see how much more you need to cure the pokemon. This thing will also detect shadow pokemon."
"All right," Lugia said. "I'm ready. Ready, Latios?" he said, turning around. Lugia groaned. Latios was cheerfully playing around with the professor's computer, pressing random buttons. The Professor walked over.
"Well, this is new," he said, grinning. "Your Latios just got the new high score on the pinball game!"
Lugia purchased a ticket for a ferry that was heading toward Eon Town. Once he got there, he rented a boat. Using the ShadowNav that the Professor gave him, he located the shadow hideout on a skyscraper some where near the south of Eon Island.
Lugia entered. He expected no one to be there, as if it was Team Burn's hideout. But what he entered was a room full of people. "This never happened before," Lugia groaned.
"Eh? What's this? An intruder?" someone said in disbelief. "Well, then, Admin, I think this is part of your job." Then a person emerged from the shadows. He laughed manically.
"You think you can defeat one of the top Admins in Team Shadow?"
Lugia sighed. This didn't appear to be his day. A battle with an Admin?
The Admin didn't wait for him to respond. "Go, Metagross!"
Lugia stared. A Metagross? This he had to snag. "Go, Latios!"
Lugia called out the first attack. "Latios, Thunderbolt!"
"Metagross, use - What?!" Metagross was paralyzed because of Latios's Thunderbolt. Lugia looked at Latios. The timid little creature was staring at Metagross as if it was some kind of relic. Latios shook his head. Latios was just the way his nature was: timid, but playful at the same time.
"Go, Snag Ball!" Lugia called. The ball snagged Metagross easily.
"What? Oh, no! Team, bail out!" The admin shouted. Latios and Lugia both looked at each other in confusion. Didn't Team Shadow have more than just one Metagross?
Team Shadow busted through the door, and escaped in a helicopter. Latios, meanwhile, alerted Lugia to a Metagross Icon Lugia could use to cure Metagross. "Thanks, Latios," he said. "Okay then, go Metagross!" Lugia released Metagross from the Ball, and it looked around. "Metagross, come on, I have to use this Icon on you," Lugia said. Metagross did not respond. Latios then talked to Metagross in their own language. Metagross then reluctantly turned around, and Lugia used the Icon on it. It immediately brightened up. "Return, Metagross!" Lugia said. "Okay, Latios, now we've got to go to Eon -" Lugia stopped in mid sentence. Latios was now playing at the Admin's computer, and had gotten a new high score on the pinball game. Lugia laughed. "You're a genius, Latios."
Lugia rode away in his boat, and then blew up the place. Latios was so startled, it hid itself underwater. Lugia rolled his eyes. "Come on, Latios, the blast isn't going to reach you." Latios shyly resurfaced.
Once Lugia reached Eon Town, he was greeted by a man.
"Son, where are you from?" he asked.
"Uh, Mossdeep City," Lugia replied.
"Well then, are you a pokemon trainer?" the man questioned.
"Yeah..." said Lugia.
"Good then," the stranger replied. "I encountered this pokemon egg, but I don't have time to raise and hatch it. Would you like to have it?"
"Sure, thanks," Lugia replied. So now he had a pokemon egg. But before he could ask what it would hatch in to, the man had disappeared.
Lugia didn't have to wait long to find Team Shadow up to no good. As the ShadowNav said, they usually stole pokemon, or whatever they desired.
Lugia had no choice but to face all five in a battle.
"So, you want a battle, kid?" one of them jeered.
"Yeah, I like the odds!" the other added.
Lugia smirked. "I'm fine with them too."
"Go, Skarmory!"
"Go, Gligar!"
"Go, Golem!"
"Go, Swalot!"
"Go, Bagon!"
Lugia sent out the only two pokemon he had. "Go, Latios and Metagross!"
He quickly called out commands. "Latios, thunderbolt Skarmory, Ice Beam Gligar, Psychic Swalot, and Dragon Claw the shadow Bagon! But try to not make it faint, I need to snag it. Metagross, just Earthquake all of them! Except for Skarmory and Gligar, of course, they aren't affected."
Latios and Metagross brought down the entire team and weakened Bagon in less than thirty seconds. "Go, Snag Ball!" Lugia shouted. In a flash, Bagon was caught. "Okay then, you guys have anymore pokemon?" Lugia asked. Team Shadow answered by running to their helicopter, and flew away.
Lugia approached the first gym leader, Acer.
"All right, I'll accept your challenge." Acer agreed. "Let's go, Miltank!"
"Go, Latios! Use Psychic!" Lugia called.
"Miltank, counter with Shadow Ball!"
"Oh, crud. Latios, just finish it with Dragon Claw!"
"Now, Charizard, your turn!" Acer called.
Lugia decided that this would be a good time to cure Bagon a bit. "Go, Bagon!"
"Charizard, Heat Wave!"
"Bagon, use Shadow Slide!"
"Oh, no!" Acer groaned. Charizard's four times weakness to rock put it a t a disadvantage to Bagon's Shadow Slide attack.
"Let's go, Salamence!"
"Bagon, return! Latios, your turn again! Use Ice Beam!"
"Ah, dang! Seems like you won. Here, take this silver Speed symbol. When I train up more, I'll challenge you to a rematch."
Lugia walked of the gym. Latios was trying to get his attention. "What?" Lugia said. Then he noticed that Latios was holding a Bagon Icon in his hand. "Thanks, Latios," Lugia said. "Bagon, come on out! Here, let me use this Icon on you. Bagon was then cured. As Lugia took another step though, his egg began to hatch. "Well," Lugia thought. Lot's of things are happening today. The egg hatched into a Cyndaquil. Latios greeted it playfully. Cyndaquil seemed equally thrilled. "Return, Bagon! Return, Cyndaquil! Seems like we have two more team members." Lugia sighed. Latios was poking a street crossing button.
Then, a Shadow Admin showed up. Great, Lugia thought. Now this Admin wants a battle.
"So, you're the kid who disrupted Team Shadow's plans, right? Well prepare for a most shameful defeat! Go, Pikachu! You too, Electrode!"
Lugia thought that this would be a good time for Bagon and Cyndaquil to gain levels, since this shadow Pikachu and Electrode were at a high level. Lugia rotated Cyndaquil and Bagon, then Metagross Earthquaked Pikachu. Lugia snagged it easily. "Wahhh!" the Admin cried, and then he jumped into Lugia's boat to escape. "Oh, darn!" Lugia mumbled. That was his only means of transportation. As Lugia predicted, both Bagon and Cyndaquil gained levels, and were evolving. Bagon became a Shelgon, and Cyndaquil became a Quilava. This was Lugia's current team.

Latios, Timid nature, level 32
Dragon Claw, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam

Metagross, Adamant nature, level 31
Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Metal Claw, Earthquake

Shelgon, Jolly nature, level 30
Dragonbreath, Headbutt, Flamethrower, Rock Slide

Quilava, Quirky nature, level 16
Flame Wheel, Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Swift

Pikachu, Modest nature, level 26
Surf, Thunderbolt, Light Screen, Iron Tail

Lugia now headed off to Dew Town, with Latios by his side. Lugia now realized that Latios was rarely inside its pokeball. He never put Latios back into its ball since he showed Professor Redwood.
Lugia predicted trouble as he neared Dew Town. Team Shadow was probably wreaking havoc on the town. Once he reached land with his surfing Pikachu, trouble came to him: Team Shadow was already prepared fore him, waiting. Lugia had no interest in the other Shadow Members, except for one. His ShadowNav detected a shadow pokemon with on of the members. It seemed like Latios could also sense them too, for it was nervously perched on top of Lugia's head.
Lugia had to capture the shadow pokemon. Team Shadow did not hesitate to battle him. Lucky for Lugia, they all had pure ground type pokemon that Latios easily Ice Beamed. When the shadow pokemon was revealed, it was an Ariados. Lugia snagged it after weakening it with Latios's Psychic.
"Huh, Boss didn't tell us about an idiot kid messing with our plans! Good riddance!" Team Shadow threw a darkness powder into the air, and then was gone. Latios hid behind Lugia as soon as the powder was thrown. Once it cleared, Lugia said, "Latios, you can look now." Latios emerged from behind a tent shop. Lugia sighed. He first talked to Professor Redwood. "Professor," Lugia began, "I'd think it'd be best if I left some of the Pokemon with you. I don't really have the time to cure them while traveling. You could cure the pokemon in that new machine you're inventing. I could send the shadow pokemon that I caught to you, and you can cure and raise them."
"Good idea, Lugia," the professor agreed.
"I'll just be taking Latios, Metagross, and Quilava," Lugia finished.
With some of the shadow pokemon with the professor, Lugia was left with Metagross, Quilava, and a mischievous Latios. Now, he had to challenge the gym leader of the town, Masen. Lugia decided to wait before challenging him. His first goal was to evolve Quilava into a Typhlosion.
Soon, Lugia was battling trainers, and Quilava was gaining levels, and along with Metagross. Lugia wanted to stop training Latios for a while because it was already way stronger than the rest of the current team. So, while Lugia trained the other two, Latios supported them by flying around Lugia's head, and getting a high score in pinball on Lugia's ShadowNav.
It didn't take long; Lugia's efforts were paid off. Quilava evolved into Typhlosion. Before returning Typhlosion back inside the Pokeball, Latios rejoiced by covering Lugia's eyes and making him walk into a pole, sign, and an old lady. Lugia returned Typhlosion before Latios could show his joy any more. Before he returned Metagross, however, Lugia noticed that it was holding a Masterball. Lugia considered himself lucky.
Lugia headed off to challenge Masen, with Latios as the first pokemon in his party.
"Well then, shall we battle?" Masen asked after the introductions,
"Ready when you are," Lugia replied.
"Then prepare yourself! Go, Crobat!"
"Latios, come on out!"
Then the battle began.
Lugia knew that this wasn't going to be easy.
"Crobat, Aerial Ace!" Masen called.
"Latios, use Ice Beam!" Lugia countered. The Ice Beam attack luckily froze Crobat, and it couldn't move. Latios finished it off with Thunderbolt.
"Okay then, go Slaking!"
"Latios, Psychic!"
"Slaking, Shadow Ball!"
"Oh, crud. Latios, use Dragon Claw!"
Slaking's truant ability allowed Lugia to get in two more Dragon Claws, and Slaking fainted. Now Masen only had one pokemon left.
"Lapras, your turn!"
"Latios, return! Go, Metagross!"
"Lapras, Earthquake!"
"Darn. Metagross, Meteor Mash!"
"What happened?" Metagross's Meteor Mash finished Lapras off with a critical hit.
Lugia and Latios walked out with a Spirits symbol. As Latios was about to point out that he saw Lugia's stolen boat, a Shadow Admin appeared. He was the same one who stole Lugia's boat, and had the surfing Pikachu that Lugia snagged.
"All right you little snob, its payback time! Go, Electrode!
"Latios, it's a shadow pokemon, just use Thunderbolt!" Lugia threw a snag ball, and Electrode was caught with no effort.
"What? This wasn't supposed to happen! Drat!" The shadow admin fled in Lugia's boat. Before he left for Soul Town, he transferred the Electrode to Professor Redwood.
Once he reached Soul Town, he found some Shadow Members causing trouble at the gym, which was a tower. Five Shadow Members were trying to steal something. Lugia challenged them to a battle, but this time, instead of accepting, they fled. Lugia wondered why, and Latios just fiddled around with a doorbell.
Once he got inside, he met leader Psyz. Of course, Psyz accepted his challenge. The battle began with Slowbro versus Latios.
"Latios, Thunderbolt!"
"Slowbro, Ice Beam!"
"Latios, Thunderbolt it again!"
"Now, go Girafarig!"
"Latios, Dragon Claw!"
"Girafarig, use Crunch!"
Lugia had to use a hyper potion before Latios fainted, but this allowed Girafarig to get in another Crunch attack.
"Latios, finish it off with Dragon Claw!"
"Oh, well. Go, Alakazam! Use Calm Mind!
"Latios, Dragon Claw!"
"Recover, Alakazam!"
"Thunderbolt!"
"Recover!"
"Thunderbolt!"
"Recover!"
"Thunderbolt!" This time it scored a critical hit, and Alakazam fainted, awarding Lugia with the Mind Symbol. As Lugia exited the gym, he found Latios looking through a Scope Lens. "Latios, where did you get that?" inquired Lugia. Latios tried to imitate the Admin that they met, but Lugia couldn't make it out. So he just left Latios alone to play with it.
His ShadowNav picked up new information on Team Shadow's Current whereabouts. It turned out that they were at Blizzard Plains. As Lugia tried to find Latios's Pokeball to return him, he didn't know Latios had thrown it off the boat when he wasn't paying attention.
When Lugia reached Blizzard Plains, he was greeted by a freezing gust of wind. Glad that he dressed warmly, he didn't overhear Latios muttering about being a part dragon type.
On the way, he found a strange sight: five pokemon fossils lined side by side. His ShadowNav indicated that he could only take one. Lugia was about to choose the Dome fossil, but Latios picked up the Claw Fossil instead. The other four disappeared. Lugia sighed. It seemed that Latios had some instincts that told him to choose that fossil.
When Lugia reached the hideout near the edge of Blizzard Plains, he found fifteen Shadow Members waiting for him. Lugia groaned. This was going to be harder than any gym battle, facing fifteen people one after another. Latios seemed undaunted, so Lugia was confident also. Latios defeated one member, and then everyone seemed eager to try and defeat Latios. Lugia even had the chance to snag a Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Kingdra!
Once he reached the top floor, he found five Shadow Admins waiting. Latios was intimidated by a Salamence, but got over its fear anyway. When it came to the last Admin, he had a shadow Lapras. Lugia wanted to call back Latios, but it charged on. Surprisingly, it was able to weaken the Lapras enough so that Lugia could snag it. Lugia agreed that it was difficult, but Latios came through for him.
After Lugia defeated the Admin, Team Shadow once again fled. Lugia planted some bombs, and blew up the place. Latios hid behind his back.
Once the smoke cleared, he saw that the building was decimated. The ShadowNav, however, tracked Team Shadow to another place, this time it was no longer in a hideout. This time, it was the headquarters.
Before Lugia could continue his journey onto Cross City, Latios stopped him. "What's the matter, Latios?" Lugia asked. Latios only responded by motioning Lugia to climb on his back. Lugia did, and Latios flew away from Blizzard Plains. They arrived at a green valley, the total opposite of Blizzard Plains. The ShadowNav indicated that this was an unknown area of the Altomare region. The ShadowNav scanned the area, and Lugia found out that he was in an area that looked like Latios's and Latias's eyes. Latios called out. Lugia suspected that he was waiting for someone. Then that someone revealed themselves: it was a Latias. Latios motioned toward Lugia's Masterball. Then Lugia realized that Latios wanted Lugia to use it on Latias. Lugia threw the ball, and Latias was caught. It was at level forty, had a bold nature and it knew Refresh, Protect, Mist Ball, and Psychic.
With a new team member, Lugia headed back out toward Cross City, where the last gym was located. It also seemed that Latias, like Latios, liked to play outside of the Masterball. So, as Lugia was somewhere over Soul Town, Latias came out of her pokeball and flew alongside Latios. As Lugia found out after they reached Cross City, Latias was just as curious as Latios, except she did more daring things, such as fly down, land on a boat, and scare the heck out of the driver.
Lugia healed up his pokemon, and went to challenge Zyph, the leader of Cross City. "Hello? Anyone here?" Lugia asked. Latios and Latias didn't hesitate to explore the place, and the two soon found Zyph training with his pokemon.
"Hi, I'm Zyph," he introduced. "I'm assuming that you came to battle me for the Champion Symbol?"
"Yeah," Lugia replied. "Are you ready?"
"Sure," said Zyph. "Just head on to the battle field."
Lugia and Zyph walked toward the battle field (with Latios perched on Lugia's head and Latias flying around them in circles.) Lugia sent out the first pokemon.
"Go, Typhlosion!" he called out.
"All right, go Raikou!" Zyph said.
Lugia gasped. This would be his first battle against a legendary electric type. This was going to be strange.
"Typhlosion, use Sunny Day!" Lugia said.
"Raikou, Thunder!" Zyph responded.
Lucky for Lugia, Thunder missed because Sunny Day lowered Thunder's accuracy to fifty percent.
"Typhlosion, use Flame Wheel!" Raikou took a lot of damage from this one, because Flame Wheel was powered up by Sunny Day.
"Raikou, use Toxic!"
"Oh, cram." Toxic poisoned Typhlosion so it would weaken a bit more each turn. Lugia countered with Flame Wheel again, though, so that Raikou fainted.
Zyph was unconcerned. "Your turn, Snorlax!"
"Typhlosion, return! Go, Metagross! Use Meteor Mash!"
"Snorlax, use Bulk Up!"
"Metagross, use Meteor Mash!" This raised Metagross's attack by a level. Unfortunately, Snolax's Bulk Up allowed it to survive, and then it used rest.
"Metagross, use Meteor Mash!"
"Snorlax, Sleep Talk!" This turned out to be Sludge Bomb, but it didn't affect Metagross.
"Meteor Mash again, Metagross!" Snorlax now fainted, and Zyph was down to his last pokemon.
"Go, Latios!" he called out.
Latios was stunned. Zyph had a Latios? Zyph chuckled. "You're not the only person who a Latios thought was worthy, Lugia. Now, Latios, Dragon Dance!"
"Metagross, use Meteor Mash!" Unfortunately, this missed.
"Latios, Earthquake!" Zyph called out.
"Oh, no." Lugia had three more pokemon left. He looked over his shoulder at Latios and Latias. Both seemed unwilling to battle a fellow Eon pokemon. Lugia had no choice but to send out Typhlosion. Typhlosion didn't even get to attack before getting Earthquaked by Latios.
"Oh well, your Latios and Latias seem unwilling to battle, and it looks like you have no more pokemon," observed Zyph. "I win."
Lugia thought it was hopeless too. Just when he was about to give up, Latios and Latias both stopped him. Latios stopped Lugia from admitting defeat, while Latias dug around in his backpack. It took a couple minutes, but soon Latias emerged holding a revive.
Lugia decided that it wasn't time to give up yet. He used the revive on Metagross.
"Metagross, Shadow Ball!" Lugia called out.
"No! My Latios fainted?" said Zyph in amusement.
Lugia walked out with proof of his victory: the Champion Symbol.
Shortly after healing up his pokemon at the pokemon center, he thanked all his pokemon for getting him this far, and that he only had one more thing to do before leaving this region and on to the next one: defeat Team Shadow once and for all.
"Hey, you!" a guy called. Lugia turned around. "I'm a Shadow Mega Admin, and I was sent to destroy you, and your pesky little birds! Go, Venasaur!"
"Latias, weaken it with Psychic, I need to snag it." Lugia threw the Snag Ball.
"Fine! Go, Scizor!"
"Latios, Thunderbolt it." This paralyzed Scizor as well, so Lugia snagged it without much trouble.
"Grrr! Go, Snorlax!"
"Metagross, use Meteor Mash. Go, Snag Ball!" Lugia was about to throw it, but Latios stepped in and used Psychic to throw it.
"WHAT?! WHY YOU STINKING LITTLE PEST! I'LL GET YOU! JUST WAIT'LL YOU FACE MY BOSS!!!" The Mega Admin stormed off, leaving Lugia to fly toward the Shadow HQ. But first, he transferred the shadow pokemon to Professor Redwood.
The Shadow HQ was dark and dank. It was only thanks to Latios's and Latias's glow so that Lugia could see. Then the lights went on. In front of Lugia was a battle field. Waiting on the opposite site was thirty Shadow Members.
"This is not good," was all Lugia could say before all thirty of them challenged Lugia to two-on-two battles. Latios and Latias took up that challenge, and wiped out every single member with one hit. Everyone was stunned, including Lugia himself. He hadn't thought that the two would work together this good. When it came to the last member, who had a shadow Swampert, Latias used Mist Ball, and Lugia snagged it. All of them fled in an instant. Lugia and the two Eon birds proceeded to the next couple of floors.
The next couple of floors turned out to be mazes. Latias found the exit most of the time, while Latios pointed out hidden items on the way. When they finally reached the top floor, there he was: the Shadow Boss.
"HAHAHA! What have we here? Oh! Oh, dear! It's a little kid with two legendary eon birds! HAHAHA! You fool! Don't mess with Team Shadow, or you'll face the consequences - right now! Go, Rayquaza!"
Lugia stood his ground. He had to snag this one, or else the Shadow Boss could attack towns and cities with it again and again.
The Shadow Boss sneered. "Give it everything you got! HAHAHA!"
Lugia didn't stop to reconsider. (The Boss probably wouldn't let him anyway.) "Go, Latios, Latias, Metagross and Typhlosion! Latios, Ice Beam! Latias, Psychic! Metagross, Meteor Mash! Typhlosion, Flame Wheel!" Metagross's Meteor Mash raised its attack one level.
"Rayquaza, use Rest," the Shadow Leader said lazily.
Oh no! Lugia thought. It'll regain health! Even worse, the Chesto berry woke it from its sleep.
"All right, you asked for it! Everyone, do the same attacks again!" This time, Latios's Ice Beam managed to freeze the Rayquaza. Lugia continued to throw Snag Balls at it while it was frozen. Lugia also had to repeat the process when Rayquaza thawed and used rest. But finally, it was able to wipe out Metagross and Typhlosion with Earthquake.
"Metagross, Typhlosion, return! Come on you two! The Altomare region is counting on us!" Latios and Latias pushed themselves to the limit. Latios's Ice Beam froze Rayquaza once again, and Latias's Psychic lowered Rayquaza's Special Defense, making it easier to catch. This time, it didn't thaw as quickly. Lugia was running out of balls. He made one last effort, and threw a Timer Ball. It rolled once, twice, thrice... and it stayed inside. Rayquaza was caught, and the Shadow Boss was defeated!
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! screamed the Shadow Boss. I've lost!"
Lugia walked out triumphantly. He planted some dynamite. When he was about to detonate the bombs, Latios stopped him. He showed Latios a Rayquaza Icon. Lugia smiled, put it into his backpack, and blew up the place. Latios and Latias both hid behind his back. "You can look now," Lugia said. Latios reappeared and perched on top of his head, and Latias hovered beside.
So, it was a happy ending. Lugia was now headed toward the Hoenn region, starting with Latios and Latias. He heard that Team Magma and Team Aqua were causing trouble there, so he might as well save the world there too. He left the rest of his pokemon with Professor Redwood. There was no need to purchase a ticket. He climbed onto Latios's back, and flew in the direction of Rustboro City, with Latias flying alongside.

Part III: Battle Island

Lugia decided to travel to Battle Island, which was an entire island as big as Altomare. It only had one pokemon center to supply all the trainers to the island. The Island Head used to be the Champion of the Steelite Region, but retired when Burn Leader Flames beat him. Instead, the Island Head opened a theme park full of trainers. It also had the Elite Twelve, which consisted of eight elite four members, three champions, and the Island Head himself. It was rumored that he was only beaten by Burn Leader Flames.
Lugia decided to start off at the Battle Tower. He used the money that he won over the regions to purchase a couple of TM's. Then he decided that he needed more pokemon. Latios, Latias, and Metagross weren't enough. He needed to plan before he could battle. However, he didn't know the full capabilities of pokemon he had never used before. Then he had an idea.
Lugia thought that the only way to decide which pokemon to work with was to let his pokemon to decide. Lugia first had to get some pokemon. He told Latios to fly toward the Hoenn region, where he could get a lot of new pokemon that he didn't have a chance to catch while he was stuck in Mossdeep City. There, Latios and Latias helped him catch a Feebas, which he soon evolved into a Milotic. Once he did that, he revived the Claw Fossil into an Anorith. Then he trained Anorith into an Armaldo. He had to see which ones his pokemon were most willing to work with.
Latios was fine with all of them, Latias worked well with Metagross and Latios, while Milotic decided that it liked Latios and Latias. Metagross was fine with all of them, and Armaldo thought that the most benefiting were Latios and Milotic. That worked well, Lugia thought. Latios was okay with Milotic and Armaldo, Milotic like Latios, while Armaldo thought Milotic and Latios were the best.
This was Lugia's Team for each three-some challenge.

Armaldo, Impish nature, level 100
Slash, Rock Blast, Dig, Brick Break
Bright Powder

Milotic, Modest nature, level 100
Surf, Ice Beam, Toxic, Recover
Leftovers

Latios, Timid nature, level 100
Dragon Claw, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam
Scope Lens

Lugia now headed off to the Battle Tower. He defeated many trainers, and nearly lost to a Lapras, Walrein, and Electrode. Milotic was nearly murdered by a Raikou, while Latios was almost cremated by a Heracross and Pinsir.
After thirty-five consecutive matches, (which took forever,) he was challenged by the Tower Head. He would battle Lugia with Lapras, Tyranitar, and Venusaur. Lugia thought he was done for. The Tower Head started things off.
"Go, Lapras!" the Tower Head shouted.
"Latios, come on out!" Lugia called.
Lugia was the first to attack. "Latios, Thunderbolt!" The Scope Lens raised the critical hit of Thunderbolt, and Lapras fainted in one hit. Maybe I'll have a chance after all, thought Lugia.
The Tower Head was still determined.
"Tyranitar, your turn! Use Crunch on the Latios!"
"Latios, quick, return!" Lugia pulled out another ball. "Go, Armaldo! Now use Brick Break on Tyranitar!"
"Tyranitar, retaliate with Earthquake!"
"Armaldo, finish it off with Brick Break!"
"Tyranitar, return! Go, Venusaur! Use Solarbeam!" Venusaur began charging power.
"Armaldo, use Dig!" Armaldo dug underground, Venusaur's Solarbeam missed, and Armaldo used Dig on it. Venusaur instead used Sludge Bomb, but Lugia returned it and sent out Milotic. Venusaur began charging power again.
"Milotic, Ice Beam!"
"Venusaur, Solar Beam!"
"Milotic, Ice Beam it again!" This resulted in both of them fainting. Lugia was left with an Armaldo at half health, and a Latios at full health, who was now playing hide-and-seek with Latias and Metagross while Lugia finished the battle with another Brick Break attack from Armaldo.
"Dagnar! Fine, take this Tower Badge as proof of your victory here! Lugia was one step closer to attempting to beat the Elite Twelve.
The next stop for Lugia was the Luck Chamber, which was a series of rooms that you had to choose from. Some contained people that healed pokemon, while others had trainers in them. He could only take Latios and the Scope Lens.
Lugia got through the first one without much trouble. He never encountered one person. The next one, however, was a horror. Lugia met a person in every single room. Worst of all, not one contained a healer.
The third room was okay, Lugia had to battle some trainers, but most of them were easy. It was just Walrein and Lapras that Latios had the most trouble with.
Soon enough, he reached the Chamber Head. Fortunate for Lugia, he only had to battle him, and not race through the rooms. With his luck, it'd be a disaster.
"Fine, fine. You made it through thirty-five consecutive room. Now, prepare yourself for battle! Go, Milotic!"
"Latios, Thunderbolt!"
"Milotic, Recover!"
"Latios, Thunderbolt it again!" This paralyzed Milotic.
"Milotic, now use Blizzard!"
"Oh, crud! Latios, you okay?" Latios seemed fine, and it retaliated with another Thunderbolt. Milotic tried to use recover, but because it was paralyzed, it couldn't use Recover.
"Latios, finish it with Thunderbolt!" This one scored a critical hit, and Milotic fainted. "Yes! Score one for Latios!" Lugia grinned. This path was so far easy. Plus, as a bonus, he was rich. He received the Chamber Badge, and walked off with Latios.
The next challenge was the Mirage Mirrors. Lugia groaned, and Latios mimicked him in unison. Illusions would surely screw up his logical thinking. Latios seemed eager, though. Lugia wondered why. When he explained to his team that they had to navigate though mazes, Milotic and Armaldo seemed unenthusiastic.
Latios entered, and started flying all over the place. Lugia had to go at a fast pace just to keep up with him. Twice he crashed into what he thought was a hallway, and he constantly kept losing track of Latios. Latios just went back for him, as if it was the simplest solution to do whenever Lugia got lost.
Latios navigated through the mazes with Lugia, and always found the way out first as if it had done this since the beginning of its life. Once again, Lugia had to challenge the Mirror Head all too soon.
"Wow, you actually made it through all thirty-five rooms on your first try? Amazing! Well, now you have to face me! Now, according to my video monitors, you actually went though the maze, no shortcuts. Well, you can chop your way through, but not all mirrors are destructible. Ready?"
"Latios is the one you should be asking," Lugia said, looking at Latios. He was barely containing his excitement; ready to whiz off the pistol went off.
"Ready, Set, Go!" a voice said.
Latios tore off at top speed, Lugia had to ride him.
The Mirror Head worked efficiently. He told his Machamp to chop though the fake mirrors, while the Crobat looked ahead for pathways.
Lugia and Latios weren't having as good fortune. Lugia and Latios had reached many dead ends. Then Lugia remembered to chop though some of the mirrors. It seemed that Armaldo sensed his frustration. It popped out of its pokeball, and went of a mad rampage, slashing every single mirror. Milotic also had an idea. It let itself out of its ball, and used Ice Beam to freeze the floors ahead. Latios slipped on the ice, and Lugia slid along with it.
This strategy from all his pokemon got him to the end first. On the video cam, the Mirror Head was only a couple feet from the starting point. Lugia expected the Head to win, since he was the one to create all these mazes. Lugia received the Mirage Badge, which he let Latios fiddle with it, since he pretty much earned it anyways.
Next one to go for was the Safari Spree, where he had to catch as many pokemon as he could in fifteen minutes. Lugia took this challenge enthusiastic as Latios was with the mazes. It was a catching spree. With his experience snagging, he easily beat the challenge five times in a row. When he faced the Spree head, he threw balls as fast as a Hitmonlee throws its kicks. Latios helped out tremendously. It used its Psychic attack and threw as many as fifty balls per second
The Spree head was just as fast, which was really surprising since he didn't have any psychic powers. He had a Snorlax which weakened opponents with yawn.
Then came the judging. Lugia and Latios caught forty-six thousand and thirteen pokemon, and the Spree Head caught...Forty-six thousand and thirteen?! The tie had to be settled with a battle.
Lugia was at a disadvantage. Snorlax had way high special defense. There was no way he could win, and the Snorlax knew Shadow Ball, most likely. Lugia was going to give up before even fighting, but Latios stopped him. Lugia had never seen Latios be this determined to beat a stronger opponent.
"Latios, do what your instincts tell you to do!" Lugia called. He had no strategy to defeat a Snorlax that knew Shadow Ball. Lugia obeyed by launching a Dragon Claw. It landed a critical hit, and for a strange reason, completely decimated Snorlax. The blast created an entire cloud of dust worthy of a million gallons of rain. When the dust cleared, Snorlax had crashed into the stadium on the other side.
Lugia couldn't believe it. The timid, cowardly Latios that Lugia had first started out with was now the most powerful pokemon he ever had.
Lugia left with the Spree Badge, once again Latios fooled around with it. Lugia didn't mind. Latios was no longer timid. It had gotten over its fear. Then a Hyper Beam attack exploded from Instinct Field. Latios hid behind his back. "Latios, its okay, you can come out now." Latias giggled. Lugia couldn't help but laugh too. A timid brother, but a courageous sister. What a mix. Latios still hasn't gotten over its shyness, Lugia thought, but at least it's still a form of entertainment. Everyone needs a good laugh once in a while.
Lugia next goal was, coincidently, Instinct Field. Here, he had to let his pokemon perform by themselves. This time, however, Milotic and Armaldo weren't really up to the challenge. Latias and Metagross, on the other hand, were ready to go with Latios.
The threesome performed brilliantly. When Latios had trouble, Latias would boldly go into battle, unless it was weak against that particular pokemon. Metagross would take the stage then. In their thirty-fifth consecutive match, Metagross's Meteor Mash blasted an Exploud all the way to the other end, and created a hole in the stadium.
Against the Instinct Head was another story. He started out with Scizor. Latios Thunderbolted it until it fainted. It was in very bad shape when Latios shot that last jolt of electricity. Next was Suicune.
Latios still battled it, and as a result of that decision, Suicune used a Blizzard attack. Latios nearly dodged it, and cowered behind Lugia. Latias then Thunderbolted it and survived heavy hits from its Ice Beam attack. One time, it even got frozen! Latias seemed very determined, and Thunderbolted it and it fainted. This thoroughly exhausted Latias, leaving it in a bad condition to battle.
Metagross now challenged a tougher opponent: Arcanine! Arcanine used Overheat. Metagross hung on barely, and it launched and Earthquake attack before fainting. Latios then severely shocked it.
The Instinct Head said nothing. He just gave Lugia the Instinct Badge. Instead of Latios playing with it, this time Latias examined it. Metagross eventually started playing catch with it. Lugia ran between the two, trying to get the badge back. Latios joined in.
The next part was the Pokemon Factory. However much Lugia wanted to use his current team, he had to customize it from the factory. He stayed with the same team, and swept everyone away, including the Knowledge Head, who used Salamence, Lapras, and Registeel, who even used Explosion on Latias.
Lugia received the Knowledge Badge.
The next challenge was the Chariot Races.
Latias was the most keen to enter this one.
Altomare hosted the Tour de Altomare once a year, which was a water chariot race. It seemed that Latias often cheated by turning invisible and hanging off someone else's pokemon.
Latias shredded the entire race, and everyone she passed wiped out. Upon winning ten races in a row, they were challenged by the Race Head, who had an Aerodactyl.
The two pokemon were neck and neck. Lugia thought that Aerodactyl was supposed to be faster. Then it pulled ahead. Latias pushed herself harder. Aerodactyl was so busy keeping track of Latias; he crashed into the overhang bridge. Latias screeched ahead. Then Latias was keeping track of Aerodactyl, she barely stopped herself from crashing into the pole which had the word FINISH written on it. Lugia flew into the banner, yanking Latias with him, and Latias landed on dry land. Lugia wasn't as fortunate: he wiped out on the water. When he resurfaced, he was run over by the Race Head.
Lugia received the Race Badge, and headed toward Showdown Stadium, where he chose three pokemon. He had to defeat the opponent's pokemon three times before it truly fainted.
Metagross, being a fierce battler, wiped everyone out. Not one pokemon stood up to it. A Pichu wasn't brave enough to face it. Lugia wasn't surprised. Metagross did look pretty menacing.
When Lugia learned that the Stadium Head would have the exact same team as him, Lugia groaned. Metagross didn't even stop to reconsider how well it would fare against a fellow Metagross. Metagross Earthquaked it three times. The Head's Metagross didn't even have time to retaliate. Metagross Shadow Balled the Latios and Latias three times, and it didn't take a point of damage. Lugia, Latios, and Latias laughed nervously. Metagross had never battled this good.
Lugia showed the Stadium Badge to Metagross, who nearly stomped it flat if it wasn't for Latios's Psychic.
The next goal was the Elite Twelve. All of his Pokemon did their best. Latios Thunderbolted Lorelei's water pokemon, Psychiced Bruno's fighting types, and Metagross Shadow Balled Agatha's ghost types. Milotic Ice Beamed Lance's pokemon. Then Armaldo used Brick Break on Sydney's dark types, and Metagross Shadow Balled Phoebe's ghost pokemon. Armaldo once again used Brick Break on Glacia's ice types. Milotic Iced Beamed Drake's dragon types. Metagross and Latios decimated Steven, Latias zapped Wallace, and everyone pitched to defeat Gary. Then it was the frontier head. Lugia said that this going to be the hardest battle ever. The Island Head sent out...a Lugia! Latios and Latias Thunderbolted it and it used Aeroblast! Latios went down, and same with Latias. Then Milotic Iced Beamed it, Armaldo used Rock Blast, then finally, Metagross used Shadow Ball! Lugia became the Champion! Then Lugia thought back to his first region. He still had a Metagross and all those shadow pokemon. Then there was a huge celebration. Lugia was the second to defeat the Elite Twelve! When Lugia inquired who the first one was, the answer was none other than Burn Leader Flames!
Lugia sent out all his pokemon, shadow and non-shadow alike. When the fireworks sounded, Metagross fired off a Meteor Mash to go with it. Then, all the shadow pokemon were cured, and they started dancing around, and enjoying the fun. Ho-oh fired off even more sparks. Latias flew into the air with an incredible display of aerobics.
Latios did the simplest thing of all: he joined the party, flying with Latias. Lugia rode on his back, and looked at the moon. He could have sworn that there were entire herds of Latios and Latias looking down at him.
Most unexpected of all: they also celebrated.

Part IV: Tios-Eon Region

Shortly after Lugia succeeded in Battle Island, he moved to Tios-Eon region, where he thought Team Shadow had disbanded for good. However, the night after he arrived, he received a message on his ShadowNav. What it was about, he didn't know.
What Lugia didn't know was on Freezard Island, a group of scientists were surrounded by several people with matching uniforms. One of them typed something into a computer. Soon enough, two creatures emerged from a containment tank.
Lugia noticed that the message was a video, not a voiced message. He saw a few flashes, then two creatures blast out of a containment tank. Then the two flew off the screen. Lugia rewinded the message. As he peered closer to video, he saw that they were shadow pokemon. On a closer inspection, (with Latios breathing down his neck) he noticed that it was a Shadow Lugia and Ho-oh. The video went on, showing several more shadow pokemon. Then the camera went all fuzzy, because one of them aimed an Overheat attack at it. Latias stared nervously at the images.
The next morning, Lugia knew that he had no time to waste. In a new one wheeled motorcycle, he sped off toward the port, Latios and Latias in the side car.
When he reached the port, another video tape was sent to Lugia's ShadowNav. This one showed Shadow Lugia and Ho-oh raiding a ship, and was blasted by Shadow Lugia's Aeroblast to this region. Then the tape ended. "Who's sending these tapes?" Lugia asked to Latios and Latias. Latios responded by tilting its head, signaling that he didn't know. Latias didn't have an answer either.
Lugia decided to start out by investigating the sunken ship. He flew to it on the Eon Flyer, Latios and Latias flying beside the plane. When he got there, he saw three shady figures lurking around.
"Hey, what are you doing here?!" asked one of them. Lugia saw that all of them had a XV symbol marked on their uniforms. "Stay out of this place!"
"Yeah," agreed another. "This is Team eXtra eVil's property now!"
"Uh, I don't think so," Lugia shot back. "It belongs to the builders."
"Then bring on your own bad luck!" the first one shouted, and took out a pokeball. The other two did the same. Lugia sighed. When would these organizations ever learn? Lugia summoned Metagross from his steel ball. He easily defeated an Exploud, Magneton, and Alakazam with Metagross's Earthquake. The remaining members fled before Lugia had time to question them. At least Latios wasn't having any trouble exploring the place. He had already found something interesting to poke at. As Lugia leaned over, he saw it was a piece of paper. He picked it up, and on a closer inspection, found out it was the plans on what Team XV was going to do next. The note read:

These are the plans for Team XV for the following week:
1. Destroy and sink the S.S. Lapras
2. Go to Wingway Island with XV Admin Sn

The rest of the note was ripped, but at least Lugia had a lead. Meanwhile, he headed back to his Eon Base as he called his home, to analyze the note, and also a new technology: he had found a way to communicate to Pokemon following instructions from an old book the Champion of the Elite Twelve gave him.
Back at base, Lugia decided to see if the machine he built was any good. Placing Latios and Latias into two cylindrical pieces of glass, he activated the machine. Latias and Latios didn't protest much to what he was doing, but it seemed that even they had doubts that Lugia could use this machine to actually communicate to them in the same language.
Lugia took a deep breath, and pressed the "On" button.
When Lugia opened his eyes, first thing he saw was that a clock on the wall told him that he had passed out for about three hours since he pushed the button. The next thing he saw was a green thing standing over him, peering at him. Lugia gave a jolt and jumped back. The creature just looked at him. "What happened?" Lugia asked, mostly to himself.
Whatever the creature was, it was extremely intelligent. In a matter of seconds, it leapt up to the supercomputer's keyboard, hacked through Lugia's passwords that he had set up, and pulled up screens from Lugia's surveillance cameras.
Lugia put the creature on a DNA examiner, and studied it. Since he woke, Lugia noticed, the creature hadn't made a single sound. It just lay quietly, and looked around the base.
As the results poured in, Lugia saw that this animal was a fusion between Latios and Latias. It had a green color, a size about five feet, and Latios's eye shape, but Latias's eye color. The triangle design was two overlapping triangles, one pointing up, and the other pointing down. It was blue on the top of the triangle, and red for the triangle behind it. It seemed to have Latios's and Latias's minds in one. It was also more male than female. It then finally spoke: "Eontios!"
Lugia grinned. Eontios it was. What a nice name.
Lugia wasn't to be diverted from his problems, though. He had to stop a XV organization before the end of the week. Unfortunately, no boats went to Wingway Island, so he had to improvise.
With the help of Eontios, he made a plane modeled after the Eon birds, and named it the Eon Flyer. He then flew it to Wingway Island; a lot faster than if he had do go to some other island before heading to Wingway.
As he hiked up the Eon Mountains, he heard had suspicious business, then he saw the problem.
No one was there. He'd been lead on a wild goose chase. But if XV wasn't here, where would they be? It just didn't make any sense for Lugia. He stepped forward. Eontios trilled a warning, but...
