Wow, a contest already, it's unexpected. Anyway, I'm glad May is using Combusken, we haven't seen much of it since Hoenn.

I am glad that Combusken is battling against such a cool opponent. It's last major opponent in battle was Drew's Flygon and Roselia, and we all know what happened there.

Whew, there's so much going on in this week's preview compared to the last one, took forever to take and upload them all. ^^

It seems like the writer's are really pressing fast-forward, we've been having alot of things happen lately. I wasn't expecting this to be a contest episode, as most (if not all) have "Pokémon Contest!" somewhere in the title, but it's a nice surprise, I suppose. The salaryman (if he is indeed that guitarist) is nothing how I was expecting him would look, but still cool. I love seeing Combusken battle as I love the Pokémon in general, a win would be nice. I don't remember seeing a Venusaur since May got Bulbasaur, and that one didn't do that much, so that's good. Frenzy Plant looks cool. May's Squirtle looks cute in those pink flowers, even if I don't care for it that much. I like that Butterfree using one wing for Stun Spore and the other for Poison Powder. I don't think Combusken will evolve, I will be very surprised it does, May just got an egg, I don't think the writers would give her another new Pokémon that quickly, would they? Guess I shouldn't rule it out but seems unlikely to me. Overall, this looks like an interesting episode.

Prediction Time!

Obata (Guitarman) has quit his job and joined in contests. His girlfriend (butterfree girl) wants him to come back for his job so he could support her when they get married.

But I definately think Obata and Girl have some relationship.

well I am not the first to say it but I predict a Combusken evolution...

when torchic was up againts a stage 1 grass type it evolved into a stage 1 fire type (combusken), so now combusken is againts a stage 2 grass type (venusaur), I predict combusken will evolve into a stage 2 fire type (Blaziken) and win, but knowing the writers it probably won't

but a contest so quick is weird.. I love contests and hate to see them rushed....

Taillow and Krabby, as well as some filler pokemon, have evolved in the middle of a competition. If anything, Combusken should evolve doing what it is best at- contests. The one notable thing about the gang's pokemon is that most pokemon evolve doing what they have spent an entire series doing.

The evolution usually comes just in time to pull off the victory too, so combusken could find itself in a tight spot and then, it starts to glow...

No one said it was glowing in the trailer. One thing does anyone know if all kanto contests require one pokemon used for appeal and another used for battle?

I didn't see Snorunt (at all) glowing in the preview for the Grand Festival episodes. And I didn't see Mudkip glow in the Wonder Drug of love episode.

I hope Combusken doesn't evolve though. At least not until Grovyle does if it does.
