Essence of the Elementals– rewritten!
Yes, it's back - the old RPG from who-knows-when that exploded. Well this time I hope it goes well... it's been totally rewritten. I hope that you enjoy this...
PG to PG-13 for a bit of language and minor romance. ;D
Eons ago, our world was inexistent. However, that didn't mean other worlds weren't around... there was a beautiful, prosperous world inhabited by the creatures we call Pokémon. No humans ever touched this world of purity, this world of perfect balance... It was ruled by a large wolfish Pokémon by the name of Laraja. She watched from her den, caring for the world and its inhabitants.
But there could not be peace forever. There was an opposite of her world, a world referred to as Chaos. The creatures of this world lived without law or order, making trouble as they pleased. It was not an issue until they started to invade Laraja's world...
The inhabitants of the peaceful world fought back, for they were not weak. Laraja and her mate, however, knew that they could not win the battle... but they tried anyway, and they defeated much of the Chaos forces. Their assumption was correct though: more from their world fell than did from Chaos.
Dark times followed. There was little hope for the world; all of its inhabitants lived in fear of death... however, Chaos was weakened severely. The final general of the dark world was a being named Arthium, whose darkness could not show a true physical form. Laraja was trapped by him with no one to save her after his hunts finally came to fruit...
She bolted for her den and found her three unborn eggs, as this time was when all Pokémon were born from such. With all of her remaining power, she sent these eggs into the nothingness of space, hoping they would find a home of their own... Arthium destroyed her after that, but she had forfeited.
It was many years later that two strange eggs fell from the stars onto a young planet which was later to be named "Earth." They hatched quickly after their landing, though the female before the male. The children of Laraja had found their new home... or two of them had. No one knows what happened to the other...
The female was a sort of huge, wolf-like creature with pale greenish-blue fur and long, lean legs. Her muzzle was curved elegantly, her eyes a touchy orange color. She had a lion-like mane around her neck of a subtle sapphire color and four thin, wispy tails. On her broad back were two wings of a greener shade than the rest of her body. She was Aurlia, the power of emotions. Her brother was Lucario, the wave-guider.
They tapped into unknown powers, creating Pokémon to be their company. These Pokémon would be later called legendary, the guardians of the world... but for now, there were only eleven of them other than the two creators: Lugia, Ho-oh, Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, Celebi, Mew, Regice, Regirock, Registeel, and Jirachi. They say thirteen is an unlucky number though...
They would create others later, but as for the time... they were the only legends. They made common Pokémon as they saw fit, so long as they were approved by Aurlia or Lucario. However, this world was tracked by the beast Arthium due to his disdain for Laraja's world... and obviously her children.
He took on the form of a huge black creature with four legs and sinister gray claws. He also had two arms besides these. Down his extremely long, coiling neck were ashen-colored spines that also rested on his head like the horns of a devil. His eyes were gleaming, deceitful red and sat high on his draconic head, though also in the palms of his hands. Arthium... the dark lord and master of hypnotic power.
Aurlia didn't know who he was, so she allowed him to live in the world of her and her brother... but this was her mistake. Over time, with her immaturity, the legends started to feel rebellious against her. Arthium saw this to his advantage and begun to bend their hate to such, slowly taking control of their minds...
Aurlia realized that she needed to leave them for a while, so that they could work out their hate for each other. She left the world in her brother's hands and imprisoned herself in mediation within a huge block of ice. Arthium stopped holding back his power and overthrew the world, making it plunge into chaos... but to his annoyance, the emotion wolf and her brother evaded his sight completely...
Several years passed before Aurlia was awakened from her meditation by the spirit of her mother nagging in her dreams, though she didn't realize it. Seeing the world in such a disarray brought her to her knees, but she knew what had happened. It was Arthium...
She hunted him down, just as he had done to her mother; but he did not attempt escape. He fought with her several times, only fleeing when he knew that his power was depleting. But his control over the others always forced Aurlia to stay behind and fight them... she ended up forcing them all either back to themselves or into a deep sleep that would wear off when Arthium was defeated.
Aurlia finally caught up to the beast of darkness and defeated him in a fierce battle, where he had no more minions to bring to his aid so that he could escape. He was defeated, but the emotion wolf knew he would not stay down... so she banished him to the Labyrinth caves, a complex maze of caverns that he could never escape from unless someone brought him out...
And the world was at peace once more.
Aurlia became more mature after her mediation, and allowed the creation of new legends. Some of them were Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos... though others came along as well. Aurlia fell in love with a creation of primitive alchemist humans, a combination of so many Pokémon that it was not a child of hers anymore. They had five children - Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Solicus, and Aurija - before his instability caused him to fade from existence.
The mother mourned him, but she raised her children well nonetheless. Solicus was built like his mom, but appeared to be made of stone like Regirock was. His mane ran down his back like an Arcanine's, though it was a soft purple color. His sister, Aurija, looked almost exactly like her mother... but her colors were brighter and more accented that Aurlia's.
Later, when the world was populated with both humans and Pokémon, Aurlia had become quite old. She was tossed into sea one day and could not get herself back to land. Her children, all of which were with her, were afraid and ended up searching for her. However, it was only Suicune who found their mother...
Aurlia told her child of water that she was going to fade out, but not to worry. She would come back. The child just had to take the crystal necklace that appeared when she vanished to a human in the nearby village and tell her a prophecy as well, which Aurlia whispered into Suicune's ear. The child watched as the mother disappeared, but as said left behind a crystal necklace...
Suicune obeyed Aurlia's final wishes and took it to a human who was out in her yard, along with the prophecy. After that the child of water left, leaving the young woman who had received the crystal astounded. She kept it with her at all times, telling future generations the prophecy as well... telling them about the traveler they were to give the necklace to.
Time passed, and slowly all legends were ripped from their physical bodies by some strange force and their souls placed inside crystals... though they didn't understand it, all of the crystals were found by humans with the characteristics that the legends desired individually.
Yet Arthium is supposedly still within the caves... but for some reason, it's like his darkness has been the force pulling the legends from their bodies...
Now the legendary Pokémon wait for their revival, taking their share of command over their "chosen" human... after all, they are entitled to some of such. The humans that found their "essence" are confused, but they are living with it nonetheless... living with the elementals.
~*~
You will take command of a trainer who has been losing consciousness for some reason every once and a while... they don't understand it, as others who were with them when it happens don't think that they passed out. It seemed to all start when you found or maybe received that crystal that everyone else thinks is a rock...

-Human Sign Ups-
Name: Alora Kamali
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Description: Alora has a slim, muscular build and stands at a height about 5'5". She has hair that is very thick and falls only about to her shoulders of a pale silvery-blue color. It is also quite wavy and curls up at the bottoms. Her eyes are slightly orange but can mostly be called brown. Her skin is mildly tanned but not very dark at all. For clothes she wears a green halter top and a pair of longish blue-jean shorts. Also, she sports several different accessories, including a blue-green cloth belt with the ties long enough to fall down almost to her right knee. She wears silver inset with green chandelier earrings and a birthstone ring from August, hence a green stone. On her left wrist there is a silver bracelet; on her right ankle there is a silver anklet to match. At the nape of her neck one can see a tattoo shaped like a green ribbon laced over a sapphire blue one.
Personality: Alora is quiet and likable enough, as well as quite logical. She remembers details from conversations better than almost anyone she knows, whether it be the important things or something totally random. Though she is likable, she is still sometimes a bit of a pain and doesn't like to be held back. One could say she is a bit of a rebel, if not by much. Her beliefs and morals are nothing to be questioned; neither are her understandings.
Essence: Aurlia
Elemental's personality: Aurlia is calm and wise, always with something to say. She is sometimes quick to anger and is not afraid to tell others exactly what she thinks, nor is she afraid to put them in their place when she thinks they are getting out of line. One might say she is a bit of a perfectionist. She has a habit of testing others and another of shying away from trouble if she believes it can be avoided. However, she knows when it's time to stop hiding and face what's causing trouble.
History: Alora was born and raised as an only child in Lavender Town, but she only had her father around since her mom was an Eevee breeder in Celadon City. She spent a lot of time with the channelers and mages in the tower, also spending time at a young age consoling those who came to mourn their dead Pokémon. Her dad taught her about training and battling Pokémon, making her a skilled trainer. But she only lived in Lavender until she was about nine, even then with frequent trips to Celadon to visit her mom and learn about raising Pokémon. Then she moved to Celadon City to live with her mom, but she never forgot her heritage as a channeler...
When she was about fourteen, Alora decided to leave home on her journey. She traveled far and wide, making friends that ended up being pen-pals and toughening her battling skills with her two Pokémon, three after the Johto trip. She rarely spent time at home, preferring to just wander about. One of her trips was what led her to Aurlia's essence...
Alora made a friend on one trip by the name of Catherine. Catherine gave her the strange crystal, which Alora thought there was something odd about, and Catharine told her that someone – she refused to say who – told her grandma to give it to her. Alora just shrugged and took the crystal as a parting gift from Catherine, whom she could have sworn started mumbling about a ridiculous rock...
Since then Alora has been having random blackouts. She was curious about them, thinking that they may have been from spirits... but there were few powerful enough to do that, and she wasn't that advanced yet. So she wonders... but she'll find out sooner than she thinks...
Other: Alora has acquired some channeling ability from her hometown, Lavender Town. Several things come from this, such as detecting spirits and communicating with them.
-Pokémon Sign Ups: Fill one out per Pokémon-
Nickname: Eshanda
Gender: Female
Species: Vaporeon
Description: Eshanda is a fairly normal Vaporeon. She has slightly more prominent claws and teeth and a very muscular build. Her tail is also a tad longer, but not by enough to see with an untrained eye. There is a small cloth pouch tied around her neck.
Personality: Eshanda is a curious, adventurous creature who loves to know what's going on. She is extremely loyal to Alora, almost never doing something against her will. This Vaporeon always loves a good fight, too. Normally she is calm and sweet, a great character to be around.
History: Eshanda was given to Alora as a gift from her mother and a first Pokémon when her trainer was about seven. The Eevee became her trusted companion as well as her main choice for battles. It was just another day exploring the cape just north of Cerulean City that Eshanda stumbled upon a Water Stone, which evolved her on contact, to the great surprise of her trainer. The Vaporeon is now still most likely her best Pokémon and easily the most loyal of them, spending very little time actually inside her Pokéball.
Other: Eshanda likes to find stuff. When she locates something she likes, she sticks it in the pouch around her neck. If she doesn't like it so much, she gives it to Alora.
~
Nickname: Palani
Gender: Male
Species: Flygon
Description: Palani is a Flygon of slightly diminutive proportions. He is just a bit smaller than the norm but just as strong, able to carry Alora and Eshanda both on his back without trouble. Other than the size, he's about as close to an average Flygon as you will find.
Personality: Palani is an energetic, slightly crazy Flygon with every intention of having a good time. He is very lovable and great to have in the company. However, he also likes to bother others and make a mess of things, as long as it isn't too big a mess to clean up.
History: On one of her trips out into the middle of nowhere, Alora ended up in the desert near Lavaridge town. There she found an abandoned egg, which she took in and raised. It turned out to be a Trapinch, which over time evolved into the Flygon he is today. His main job is to carry Alora around, though his battle skills are not to be tampered with.
Other: Nothing really.
~
Nickname: Sheridan
Gender: Male
Species: Rapidash
Description: Sheridan is a huge, muscular Rapidash of the shiny sort. His creamy fur has scars scattered about it. In case you were wondering about shiny, it means his mane and tail are not fiery but appear more like smoke.
Personality: Sheridan is a wild, rebellious creature that refuses to be held down. He doesn't really like Alora and would just as soon go back to the wild as stay with her. He is dominating and always tries to have control of the situation, yet for some reason Alora can always set him straight.
History: Sheridan was the leader of a huge pack of Rapidash and Ponyta in the Johto plains for a long time. However, Alora came around and brought an end to that. She carefully planned a way for Eshanda and Palani to scatter the herd and get him by himself, just because he was interestingly colored. Alora was able to use a set of makeshift reins to ride him around until he tired out. After that happened she went on to heal him and give him a chance to rest. He then decided to join up with the group, but not exactly happily. Now he is Alora's ride over the plains, or just when Palani is tired out.
Other: Hm... Nope.

Nope.
