OOC: I is very sorry for not being here for so long. *ducks head* I'll go help Articuno now.
IC:
Darkness swirled around her, small tendrils splaying out and caressing her gently, as if it was a mother holding her baby for the first time. She felt weightless, floating I this oblivion and remarkably peaceful. She felt tired, so tired. Slowly the darkness dragged her downwards, deeper into the broad expanse of black. She could see the firefly lights of stars dotted around her, twinkling merrily and assuring her it was ok. She sighed, hearing the whispers around her.
Let go… Be free…
The urge to do as they asked was so very strong, increasing with every second. She did not feel afraid, in fact, it felt as if she was answering a long lost call. So… hard… to… resist- TWANG!
A loud sound ripped through the silence, reverberating off invisible walls. Her eyes snapped open. She was no longer sinking, hanging suspended in this never ending night. She heard new voices, so different from the soft whispers, harsh and raw to her ears.
“How could you let this happen! You said she would never be out of your sight!”
She recognized that voice, she realised dumbly. It was Mr Bond…
“I was only gone for a second! I only went out for a coffee…”
“Jumping jalapeño peppers! What were you thinking? In this weakened state, Raikou can no longer fight against poisons! Even the weak ones! We knew there would be another attack, which is why we asked you to stay, Doctor…”
“I’m sorry! It was my tea break!” The doctor’s voice simpered through the darkness towards her, making her smile. He sounded harassed, over stressed and tired.
He must be having a real bad day… She thought with a grin. She slowly began to rise out of this big well of lack, watching regretfully as the stars zipped past and were swallowed into the darkness beneath. The darkness slowly began to lighten, like the night sky at dawn, fading into the silver rainbow of the twilight. She closed her eyes, feeling the gentle rush of air on her cheeks as the light before her eyelids grew even brighter…
“There we go, she is back to the land of the living.” The Doctors relief was evident, a touch of impatient entering voice as he was desperate to return to his coffee. Cat breathed in deeply, smelling honeysuckle and the warm softness of freshly baked cookies. The cookies smell was all that was needed to wake up Raikou, and he eagerly took control, snapping her eyes open and sitting up with a jolt.
“COOKIES!” He yelled happily. Bond smiled, shaking his head, but you could see the relief in his eyes.
“And so is Raikou,” Still smiling he turned away and began calling to the cluster of Flaaffys waiting at the door. “Well? What are you waiting for! You heard the lad, get him some cookies!” The Flaaffys hurried to complete his request and Cat grinned in her couch. Looking around she plumped up some cushions and lay back with a sigh of satisfaction. Now that trouble was over, maybe they could start getting somewhere…
“Periwinkle Blue, At Your Service!” Boomed the Tailow, thumping his chest importantly. Cat groaned. After clearing out their stock of cookies, Raikou had finally relinquished control to Cat and they were finally able to start moving in the right direction. When the Flaaffys heard their request, they had hurried them off into another tunnel, which soon spiked up towards the surface, emerging in a large clearing. It seemed the average clearing, until Mr Bond whistled and a Tailow flew out of a supposedly empty tree, slipping through a force field with the ease of long practise. In that split second Cat got a view of village of tree houses before it was gone, and her attention drawn to the Tailow that landed before them. He was a fine specimen, Glossy blue feathers, ruby red chest which he thrust forward self importantly. But more importantly was what was on his back. Covering her ears and wincing as he boomed a welcome, Cat studied the mess of fabric and wool on his back. It seemed to be a saddle of some sort, with straps loping along his chest for support. It was only until Mr Bond ushered her forward did she realise what was going on.
“Good day, Benedict!” Bond called, slowing before the Tailow, and patting a welcome on its wing.
“Barty! How Are You Old Pal!” Thundered Benidict. Cat winced again, feeling her ears throb. It was unknown how such a small bird could omit such a sound.
“Good, good… Hey, do you mind giving Cat here a ride?” Asked Bond, gesturing to Cat. Benedict bobbed his head in acceptance.
“Alright, but you owe me one, matey. Do you know where to go?” This last question was directed at her. She hesitated, uncertain. She didn’t know.
I do, Raikou assured her, opening a sleepy eye. Cat reluctantly nodded, not willing to put that much faith in Raikou’s directions. Benedict bobbed his head again, and crouched down.
“Hop on, then, and we will be on our way!” Cat nodded, steeled herself and walked forward. She was never one for flying, and the prospect of clinging to this small bird made her sweat. But she forced herself to remember Articuno’s host, and imagined her, cold and scared, locked in some cold, dingy dungeon somewhere.
The least I can do is help, She decided, bracing herself and, using Bonds offered hand as a boost, swung herself onto Benedict’s back. There was a few scary seconds when she wobbled precariously, but then she settled and buckled herself in. The ground looks different from higher up, she thought, teeth chattering with fear. Bond waved once as Benedict opened his mighty wings and beat down with all his might. The ground soared away, leaving a cloud of dust billowing in their wake. They sank a little as Benedict struggled to remain airborne, before they were off, flying into the midday sky.
OOC: Sorry again for the wait. I couldn't let this RP die! Until next time! *scuttles off*
