I've had several people ask me to start an art thread, so here it is. I just hope you're not too disappointed by what I have to offer. I draw Pokémon. That's my hobby. It can get tricky at times since I'm new at this drawing thing in general.

Also, I know about the random line thing, which I don't do anymore. So you don't need to keep pointing that out, okay?

By guides I mean using shapes, action lines, and adding details later like how they show you to in drawing books.

It is especially noticable in the last Nosepass drawing, particularly the blue background. Take PPL's advice: once you choose a direction, stick with it. Your drawings will look smoother and more realistic. Also, take your time with coloring - the problem is that there are many areas of the drawing where the strokes are unrealistically more dark than the base color. You tend to color, as if to only fill the blank space without considering the overall picture. As seen below, this area has darker shades of blue all over the place. In addition, you went over the lines at the part where the blue and brown meet:

Some advice: When you start coloring, the first thing you should do is to lightly go over the picture with the right colors. Keep it at roughly the same level of pressure and avoid go over parts you have already colored in. Once you have mastered this, you can begin working in things like shading and detail to the image. Sorry if it's not explained properly, as I'm only paraphrasing what my art teacher told me many years ago.

Last words: I admire your work, and have very few criticisms. There is no doubt in my mind that you have strong potiental with drawing art, but you do need work to get better at it. As I said, the coloring is a little on-and-off (with many good elements, but some flaws). I know it can be a tough thing to do, as I myself am not that good at following my own advice, but remember not to rush the coloring stage too much. Good luck with your future artwork and I will look forward to seeing them.

@ PPL & MC: I was starting to notice an issue with inconsistent shading patterns... Thanks for pointing out exactly what it was! I'll see if I can actually incorporate the shading lines in a uniform an aestetically pleasing pattern in my next drawing, which is of Dusknoir.

@ kyogreblue3: I don't usually use basic shapes to start with for drawing my pics, but there are two notable exceptions to that rule. There was the picture of Lyra I did for PPL's birthday, and that Spiritomb you saw, where I had no choice but to start with a perfect circle. ○
