European Events Announced

First of all I hope nobody else has made this thread and if they have remove/lock this one.
I can't see a thread on this but maybe people didn't notice after yesterday's Wii announcement.

Nintendo Europe [ www.nintendo.co.uk ] has posted this message on their website:

The best part? You get to vote for those 10.

We figured it was only fitting to celebrate a decade of Catch-‘em-All fever with a gigantic search for Europe’s 10 Most Wanted Pokémon. We want you to tell us which Pokémon are still missing from your Pokédex.
Starting today, you get to choose from the whole batch we’ve caught (and we caught nearly all of them, including some of the rarest!), and tell us which ones you would like to add to your collection. We’ve put up a dedicated online poll where Trainers from across the continent can vote as often as they want for their favourites.

After the polls close on May 15, we will announce Europe’s 10 Most Wanted Pokémon, and, over the course of 2006, give you the chance to add one of these Pokémon to the Pokédex of one of your Game Boy Advance Pokémon cartridges.

Maybe a chance to catch Celebi or Mew?

Hmmm Vote for your most wanted...but Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys are not on the list-even though Nintendo must know they are the only Pokemon fans actually need.
Jirachi, Mewtwo, Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza are also missing from the list.

But I'm sure that Caterpie and Zigzagoon are bound to feature on the top 10 most wanted!

Hmm that is disappointing. Maybe they’re planning on handing out Mew and/or Celebi (wishful thinking) regardless so they are not included in the poll? It says choose a Pokemon not in your Pokedex but they're all in already >.<

Anyone else read the text at the beginning that said there are some special ones that only reveal their true colours if you vote for them? Tha gave me a hunch that they might be shinies. So I'm browsing through and I notice a twinkling in the corner when I'm on certain ones. I've got an inkling this twinkling means that their shinies. The 7 shinies I found are:
Arcanine
Bannette
Haunter
Horsea
Houndoom
Natu
Octillery
I may have missed some, so look out for more.

We haven't even got Mew yet...

No I dont think so, 'cause it's not on the vote list. (That's why I dont see the point of this whole vote the pokemon you need thing, 'cause the pokemon that most of the people dont have, ARE mew, celebi and other legendaries)

Celebi wasn't on the vote list for JAA, but they got it as a bonus anyway.

@ Watergod: I was typing in the address bar and thought I saw that thing shine in the corner, so it has nothing to do with the Pokemon.

Yeah I got the email from Nintendo. I was unhappy that I couldn't vote for Mew or Celebi, so I put down the pokemon I did need, including Lugia and Ho-oh. Watergod I did not read the text much, but if there were shinys etc I'll re-vote. You can vote as many times until May 15th.

Thank god. At last. Thats weird, a event at the begining of the Year? Nintendo! Your spoiling us!

But here is hoping to high-heavens that I won't have to travel up to London to get to the event, like during the Deoxy's event. This time, Nintendo, do it all OVER the country, rather then just the Northen areas?

Hmm I just hope that they don't mess all the locations up either. But I'd have thought that they'd move onto the Ho-oh Lugia Island place? Since they did the Dexoys tour in november wouldn't it be logical to move on to the next tickets?

Yes. Hell, they might even have that to download there. We don't have enough details just yet, we have to wait until they are given out. I just hope it's a JAA but for the Uk, with the Torne and all.
And with the Ho-Oh and Luiga tickets(Even though I have both).
And the Mew ticket(Although I already own Mew).
And Celebi.

Heck, I don't have high expectations do I?

They should give out one free shiny any nature you choose good IVs pokemon per person or per cartridge...I'd no doubt have a shiny ralts given to me...

I voted too, the only shinies I chose were Dratini, Gyarados and Jynx. There were a few more IIRC but I missed them :/

i could only think of a couple of pokes that i really want/need and have no other way of getting: shellder and lugia. ah well, i'll go back to it later...

It's the same with me! Except I DO see something shining in the corner, except that it's completely random.

I'm just gonna vote for some favs (Vibrava, Gardevoir, Bellossom, etc) and hope that they're shiny...

I think the shiny flahes are random, but if you select Pikachu and add it to the list the name sparkles (in your list of 10), unlike any other pokemon name. This does not occur untill you add it to your vote-it appears as a normal name in the big list.

So I think Pikachu is the special one-try it to see what I mean.

Same here, but I'll vote again to see if I can see the Pikachu shinyness.
