EV Training and Natures

Why do people care about EVs and Natures. Sure, they may give your Pokémon a little more of an advantage, but do they make the game any more fun? I don't think so.

I AGREE!

Um, actually its just because i'm too lazy for such stuff, but anyway.

I care about EV and Natures because I want Pokemon like Metagross to have like 100 Atk more than normal when EV trained/+Nature.

EVs are the difference between winning and losing a battle.

Yes but does it make the game fun? How can spending hours fighting the same Pokémon be fun?

So Zetta Slow!
I don't care about EV's bacause I am too lazy to count them...
And natures have a great role but I just don't mind them at all...hehehe

It's not. That's why it's called a "sacrifice".
Is it really that satisfying to be invincible except against other EV trainers?

Another way to answer the question:
I dont use "uber" pokemon, i dont calculate stat values, i dont use cheating devices, i dont breed my way to perfection, and i dont care about natures. I catch my pokemon the way they are, and treat them like individuals instead of brainless drones. If you use this philosophy, copy and paste this into your signature. (started by Tyranitar).
When i make a new team on my game, i dont take the classic strong ones. I take
some odd pokemons to see how good they will become. If you use this philosophy, copy and paste this into your signature. (started by Shooting star).

And evilplusle, i saw that you picked up the siggy thing i started! Nice!

And why's that so?

Because if you care so much about a slight advantage you get from EV Training that you spend hours on it you REALLY need to get a life.

Why is that people like me (who EV trains and breeds for Pokemon) are CONSTANTLY at the cntre of being flamed?

Is it because we don't do things the way you like us to? Is it because we actually give the mechanics of the game some MEANING? Or is it because you are all just jealous because we actually put EFFORT into raising and training our Pokemon rather than just have them beat the Elite Four 5 million times?

You see all these things, 'IF YOU DONT EV TRAIN PUT THIS IN YOUR SIGGY STARTED BY ----' etc.

Tell me, have any of you EVER seen one that says 'IF YOU EV TRAIN, PUT THIS IN YOUR SIGGY.' I certainly haven't. So even if somebody does, I doubt that it's on a widescale level like the other one.

Seriously, what's so bad about putting effort int training our Pokemon? It's not as if because we do that they're tools. (In fact they're less than tools, they're a bunc of zeros and ones.) Or are you all just so lazy that you want everyone to stop raising the Pokemon the way they want?

People who EV train and such don't care if other people don't. We wish to be shown the same respect. Just don't come crying to us when somebodies Jynx absolutely mops the floor with your Rayquaza or something.

And about the 'Slight Advantage' of EV Training; you have obviously never used NB or another Team Building program and seen the difference EVS make. EVs are what allow Dugtrio to kill Raikou even after it HP Ices you.

Speaking of that; if any of you say that the IVs etc were just to give the Pokemon a bit more differences, two words:

Hidden. Power.

It's not exactly a slight advantage. It's quite big, infact.

Btw, you shouldn't be telling people to get a life. He could be more social than any of us, you don't know him in real life, so you can't judge.

I agree with this guy.
EV Training is a must for Competive Battling and for the Battle Frontier.

It's really fun to EV train and breed for good IV's and nature. I like to put some effort into my Pokémon.

But hey! That's my opinion. If you don't like EV training amd stuff like that, then don't do it. It's really that simple.

Yeah.... unless they EV train too. -_-'

But that's exactly the best part. Besides, not everyone ev trains the same. You can use different pokemon for different reasons, and some aren't always obvious or playing off that pokemon's greatest assets. When you do battle someone who ev trains also, the way you trained it and your pokemons IV's, nature, and move set are the only things that will decide if it's a win or lose for you. And ev training can be very fun. It gets tedious (like trying to find latias for the first time, but most people do that), but it really pays off once you get that effort ribbon. It's just a different way of playing the game. I think it's a better way of playing the game.
