EV training?

How do you EV train? Do you have to use items such as the power anklet, band, belt, bracer, lens, and weight?

Read over http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-rs/ev.shtml and come back if you have any questions.

The "Power" items you mentioned aren't necessary for EV training, but they do speed up the process. You'll understand this better once you read the mechanics page, but having a pokemon hold one will give you +4 EVs in addition to whatever EVs you earned when you defeat a pokemon. The type of bonus EVs given depends on the item, which it says in its description.

Yeah, it's a pretty decent page that covers almost all aspects of EV training. One thing that it doesn't mention, however, is that if you plan on using vitamins (Protein, Carbos, Calcium, etc) to do some quick training, you must use them before doing any battling to gain EVs. You can only use vitamins until you have 100 EVs in a certain stat. That game mechanics page only says that vitamins will not work if the "10 vitamins per stat" limit has been reached, or if the stat has been maxed out already (255 EVs).

Here's a trick, get 5 exp.shares somehow and give them to 5 pokemon that you want to EV train, then get a lv 100 pokemon to fight in the wild. All the 5 pokemon equipped with the Exp. share will gain the EV. This way you could EV train 5 pokemon at the same time.

Does that really work Ivi? Cause I have like ten EXP shares. And they need to make a sticky thread like this because it seems as if a new thread asking the same question pops up every week. How do you EV train. No offense to the thread creators, but it would save a lot of trouble making new threads and replying the same thing every time.
