NeoGeo and MSX games soon to be revived on the Virtual Console. You heard it here first! (Hopefully.)

Anyway, UK have been given a healthy dose of new Virtual Console games which have, of course, been added to the list. That big group of games I announced recently will be up by the end of the weekend.

Oh, and finally, its the Game Developers Conference tomorrow so I'd expect some major announcements on either already known games or brand new games. IGN and other such sites have hinted that there will be some big guns brought out. But it is not clear whether it will be for Wii or DS.

Wat.
Yes, I am happy now, hehe.

To be honest, nobody really knows about SSBB's release date. It's just that very vague 2007, and that could very well end up being just Japan. On the other hand, I think the vibes are right for a 2007 worldwide release... it just seems to fit better with all the clues.

Is Kirby really? I've been completely unaware of that release. As for the US release of Excitebike... it should be even sooner as you think given past ways things have worked. Expect it in March. Meanwhile, Europe still haven't got The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It's getting a ridiculously long wait... why aren't they releasing it here?

Anyway, I have a dozen and one Wii games to announce. Yes, a dozen and one new games! The thing is, is that a dozen of them are from the same developer who haven't completely reeked of quality in the past. So, here we go!

Action Girlz Racing
Anubis II
Billy the Wizard
Earache Extreme Metal Racing
Elvis - Rock n' Roll Adventures
Hamster Heroes
London Taxi: Rush Hour
Mini Desktop Racing
Monster Trux Extreme: Offroad Edition
Myth Makers: Orbs of Doom
Myth Makers: Super Kart GP
Myth Makers: Trixie in Toyland
NinjaBread Man

I'm very interested to see what you guys make of them!

Finally, we have our "one" game. I introduce you all to:

Space Station Tycoon developed by Namco Bandai. More information about the games coming very very soon!

Actually, it said Hoshi No Krby only. I think its for the Wii. I'll check.

Also, the Smash Poster, I got it. No news nor new characters.

I've been having terrible trouble with my computer lately which is why there has been a lack of news and updates from "the List" from me. Let me assure you, however, that I have a couple new games for you all to devour in the very near future!

Emergency Mayhem
Publisher: Codemasters
Developer: Supersonic
Genre: Action Adventure
Release Date: June, 2007
In One Phrase: Race around the city as the police, fire or ambulance forces as you play in a variety of different situations. Combining minigames, comedy and sandbox-style gameplay, this might just be a fantastic thing!

I finally managed to get up all the games that I had announced but not put up. Sorry about the delay but my computer's been very poor recently and I've had a distinct lack of time. With that all done, I'll be able to concentrate my efforts on some game profiles. Please say which games you want to be profiled the most (though keep in mind, I'm only profiling games that I can actually play so no obscure Japanese titles please.

But, regardless, at this point of time we have 174 Wii games, which means we are just 16 games from the big 200. Which means, at that point of time it would be nice to have a little celebration. If anybody has any ideas for what we can do then please don't hesitate to suggest it. I'll try and create it.

Finally, if you have any queries, ideas, or comments for Every Single Wii Game... then again, don't hesitate to ask.

Red Steel
^^^ URL Link to IGN Page
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Paris
Genre: First-Person Shooter
Release Date: Out Now
In One Phrase: The first ever game to be revealed on Wii! It’s received mixed reviews but general applause from the public. It combines gun-play and sword-play in the murky world of the Yakuza!

RedSteel.jpg

This game will go down in a rather odd history as being the first ever officially announced game for the Wii (well, back then, it was still the Revolution). If you thought it would be a Mario game or a new Nintendo franchise then you were very wrong: this, instead was it. 7th April 2006 was the day when this Every Single Wii Game list could have properly got started. The thing is, it's not exactly easy being the first ever something...

Initially impressing people with its graphics, it felt that this game could be something special. And then it happened. It happens to everything on the Internet; the whiners appear:

Code:
EXCERPT FROM THE UPCOMING "RED STEEL STORY" FILM (Actually Non-Existant)

WHINERS: It's bound to be an on-wheels shooter, which will be crap!
UBISOFT: Nope, it's a fully fledged first-person shooter.
WHINERS: So, that first trailer is staged!
UBISOFT: Nope, the first trailer revealed true gameplay.
WHINERS: Then the AI must be awful!
UBISOFT: Actually, it's a unique system where characters will react fully to protect their comrades and surrender if you point a gun at them.
WHINERS: So, the gameplay will suck!
UBISOFT: Let's find out from a demo...

The first advanced playings for video game sites appeared and disaster striked: Some of the people didn't like the control system and the game became an apparent mess. So, this is its history, how did it fare as the first ever first-person shooter?

It depends, would be the answer. Over here, in the land of Blighty, this game is viewed as a masterpiece and an impessive stab at the first-ever FPS. The visuals are certainly very nice and the Wii controls really make the game a rather good first-ever. Multiplayer is particularly loved by many magazines, and, having played it myself I must say I agree with it. Maybe, that's all just a Brit thing though, cos' back in the US of A it has been a very different story. IGN don't like it, Gamespot don't like it (not that they like any Wii game), The Wiire don't like it, the results don't fare well in the Game Rankings -- it really is not a very well-critiqued game. So, why is there such a divide then?

The truth is, I don't know. But it sold substantially well (well enough for there to be an upcoming Red Steel 2 (you heard it here first)) and seems to be adored by the majority of the public... except the WHINERS. Dun dun dun durrr!!!!!

But, guess what, ignore the WHINERS, I genuinely recommend this game.

Secrets and Tips
- The more respect points you have, the higher your rank at the end of each level. So it is worth to spare a couple of people's lives!
- In the mission Reiko sends you on, there are some lockers near where you first find the geishas. If you open them up you will see some picture of the staff of the game's development team... intriguingly wearing blonde wigs!
- To get 100% in this game, you have to get Perfect Rank in every level which is virtually impossible. Good luck if you're going to be brave enough to try it though.
- This game is crazier than people think... look out for Shadow men, giant frogs and exploding bunnies.

Having not played this game as much as some other games I haven't quite reached the levels of info that I have with others. Do you have any info that you can share with me, because it would be greatly appreciated!

Aaaand, yes! I got through a whole Red Steel without mentioning the not-so-great sword play. Mission accomplished. Oh...

the max percentage for Red Steel is 105%
if you beat the game and attempt to replay levels for a maximum completion rate, you will encounter a bug that occurs halfway through each level when you reach the loading screen where all respect points are forgotten and start back at zero.
the only way to get a perfect score is to restart the game:
it is possible to save over your game and replay it again while still retaining your completion and the ability to replay any level completed from the first save.

also when trying to reach the samurai rank, avoid using shotgun weapons (shotgun/type 12).
even though you only used one bullet to kill someone, it fired and counted 6 for your accuracy.

there are two possible endings. if you don't receive the ending you want, you must start a new game to see the new ending.

changing the language on your wii will change the language (text, menus, subtitles and voiceovers) of the game.

I've got some awesome new games for you:

First of all, is a brand new RPG from Koei. It looks set to be extremely interesting:

Opoona
Publisher: Koei
Developer: Koei
Genre: RPG
Release Date: 2007
In One Phrase: Combining an extraordinary mix of visuals, along with a refreshing RPG, Opoona looks set to be quite a good reason to own a Wii. Socialisation is an important part of the game as well as combat and the usual RPG "stuff" making this a real treat!

Treasure Island Z
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Capcom
Genre: Adventure
Release Date: 2007
In One Phrase: You play as Zack, a cute little pirate fella who's out to solve puzzles on a mysterious island to uncover the legendary pirate's gold of Barbaros. With bright, cartoony visuals and a nice slower-paced sort of play this might just be what you need for your Wii!

DarkBlazikenEX

GRRRRRRRRR
When they come out here are some games you I`d like to see profiled like Red Steel

Metrioids Prime 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros Brawl
and Mabe the Line Rider game

Yeah, sorry... I've had so much coursework for school recently that I haven't had any time. I keep beginning to Edit the front page then realising that I've still got another essay to do. :(

Virtual Console's the one I'm most behind on. I don't believe there's that many actual Wii games to add to the list right now though. Just that Boogie[/i] thing, right?
