Evolution: The First wave <PG-15/NC-17>

Lady Myuu

Damsel mostly Stressed.
Note: This rpg may offend some people as it is dealing with matters that some call 'beastility' but the reason for it is beyond that and I do not see all pokemon like animals. I do not agree with beastility nor do I support it.

This RPG is rated PG-15 to NC-17 for reasons of violance, langauge and content that may not be suitible for younger players.

Evolution:
The first wave

It has been three decades since Red became a pokemon master. Since Team Rocket has been finally wiped away and Team magma and Aqua have calmed their bickering and while the teams still exist have lost that element of threat they once held over Hoenn. It is a time of peace… a time for thriving… a perfect time for pokemon to take their next steps in the evolutionary growth to perfection.

Pokemon have gotten as far as they possible could by themselves, they have developed ways to defend themselves against one another, have unique survival skills and reproduction system. The weak have perished and the strong has survived. But there is one element they do not have that mankind has.

The ability of knowing one self truly exists and has a greater purpose. The ability to be more then just mere creatures on the planet, to become something with greater value and contribute more to the world then just simply fighting one another in a mockery of the battles they once had thousands of years ago. But how does a being go about gaining a soul? A sentient mind? A purpose?

Through mankind, who have all ready been blessed and cursed with this ability to think beyond what any creature (excluding the legendaries) has before. By find a way to use mankind’s ability to reproduce themselves and there souls pokemon will find a way to become better. To be what they are and yet not…

Over time, as pokemon and humans have spent hundreds of years together and being breed and domesticated, by being around humans for so long pokemon have adapted to them, have grown and evolved to match what the human world expects of them now. Domesticated pokemon have become better then the wild pokemon, there minds have grown larger, there eyes more understanding.

While some domesticated pokemon will never reach this point of intelligent. The more evolved creatures of this species have reached the stage, a stage were merely a single difference separates man from beast. And that difference is about to be broken… broken by a common factor that these days humans rarely have for pokemon…

Love.

In the city of pallet (as it has grown to large to be called a town) a girl gave birth to a strange disfigured baby. It was born dead but seemed to have disfigured bird like legs and skin was soft and a strange pinkish tent much like what a baby bird pokemon’s shade would be. It’s mouth while was not a beak had a hard covering over it and would not have been able to form the functions of smiling or easy speech. The nose was replaced by two slits. The girl who gave birth was a pokemon trainer and one of her pokemon… a pure breed Blaziken.

The girl did not claim to be raped or harmed in any way by the pokemon. She didn’t claim to have been with the pokemon either denying any accusations and soon left town later to be found out that her pokemon had been killed after she gave birth to a live baby much like the first, the baby this time though was also killed by time it was one year old.

This was the first sign of something happening, certain pokemon were adapting to the ability to breed with humans. This does not mean all pokemon were able too, certain types of pokemon and certain species within those types have gained the ability to breed but only certain ones out of those species are able too. Because they have reached a stage that is beyond the simple minds of animals, a stage in which their minds are as great as mans.

And humans do not like this at all.

Humanity has changed a lot in the last three decades. The whole love and friendship between pokemon is very rare and the pokemon league runs more like a dog fighting ring. Sometimes trainers even fight there pokemon to the death and it does not matter to the league or not. Prices for pokeballs and gear have shot up which means keeping ones pokemon in shape and high levels has become harder. It now costs a fee to heal pokemon in the centers and a lot of underground illegal drugs and systems have exploded onto the scene.

The world is no longer a safe place for common and wild pokemon. Only a few handfuls of trainers still use the old ways to raise their pokemon and love them. These trainers are the ones who end up being part of the new evolution.

Hybrids are on the rise in the world… despised and hated by mankind. Most don’t believe they even exist. They hide in the shadows, away from danger as best they can. Some are on there own, rejected by there parents or orphaned. Some have left on there own knowing it to be safer for there loved ones. They seem to be completely human on the inside but on the outside…. They are seen as monsters, abominations.

But as time has gone on since the first hybrid sighting… a small team of people have seen something that interests them. Are they Team Aqua? No… are they team magma? No…. team rocket? You must be joking.

This team does not go by any team name; they are related to the government and are on the look out for helping hybrids with their own interests in mind. Be weary as they wear a happy face and hold out a warm hand. But they are just trying to rush something that time must be careful with.

For the first wave has begun.

~*~
Questions: What do pokemon hybrids look like?

Answer:

They will always have a humanoid build. But well tend to be more anthro like then hybrid. Meaning that if a parent was a fur covered pokemon. The hybrid tends to be covered in a layer of fur. If the pokemon was a blue skinned or plated the humanoid hybrid may sport this. They sometimes come across more pokemon then human or more human then pokemon.

If the mother was a human, the child seems to be more human then pokemon.
If the mother was pokemon, the child comes across more pokemon then human.

Question: Will my hybrid have attacks?

Answer:

Yes, they will have attacks. While there attacks will not be as strong as the parent pokemon. They will go through the basic stages of learning attacks but it’s more natural. Such as, the older they get the better attacks they learn. Then once they reach a certain age they stop learning attacks. The attacks will NEVER be as powerful as a full pokemon unless one trains oneself. It is very unlikely that they will ever be able to do a very strong thunderbolt or psychic.

~*~
Question: Evolving?

Answer:

When a hybrid is born, if the parent pokemon was a fully evolved pokemon (most on the list have to be) the baby will not be. It will probably have some appearance to the first stage of that pokemon but as it gets older will began to change appearance in sometimes painful ways until they reach a final stage much like the parent (some wont reach this tell they are thirty)

Such as a machoke may have a hybrid child but it would be a machop/human instead. Then as the machop/human grew older its appearance would change to more of a machoke and even maybe someday a machamp.

~*~

Name: Mitch

Age: 17
Gender: male

Pokemon of: machoke

Description: He stands around 5’6 and has a naturally strong build; while he hasn’t worked out he is very well muscled and is three times stronger then the average man. His body is a soft gray color skin, very soft almost cream. His arms have faded pink stripes as well as his legs. He has a large flatter muzzle like nose while his eyes are a yellow greenish color. His head is covered in brown shaggy hair that goes back into a sort of mullet (it grew naturally that way) and he has the three crests on his head like most machokes.
On his back though is a show of many scars, slashed marks of times when humans had cornered him and taken such barbarian things like a whip to his back. He keeps his hands wrapped up in bandages and his wrists have been scarred up from the times he has tried to kill himself.

Now for clothing for this hybrid, he wears a pair of brown slacks with a black belt. No shirt or shoes as his he can’t stand them on his gray feet. Over this though he wears a normal yet torn and dirtied trench coat and matching hat as one must keep oneself hidden from prejudiced human eyes.

Personality: Mitch acts like a tough guy; he doesn’t take any sort of crud from any humans. He has never met another hybrid before and is found often sulking by him away from the watchful eye of those humans who do not reject him. He is actually a very understanding guy and holds firm to his mother’s belief that pokemon training is slavery.

If he is around normal humans he will often put on a tough defensive face and tends to get riled up easily and is known to pick fights. He is very over protective and can not handle the thought of losing anyone ever. He is loyal to a fault and will protect those he deems friends with his life. This has been used against him before and as many can see he has tried to take his life because of it.

While Mitch does have a loyal friendship and a quick temper around strangers, he also has a strange urge to fight. Perhaps it is the fighting blood in his system as his father and his father’s father had been breed for fighting all there lives. He loves to pick fights as mentioned before and will sometimes go looking for trouble if none comes to him. He will fight even for money and tends to get in more then he can handle.

Family: Mitch is a single child and also an orphan, his father was the pokemon.

History: Mitch’s mother, Eve was a pokemon trainer. She traveled around kanto with her starter, a machop. Four years later Eve was watching a pokemon battle when she was hit by something in her head. She watched the trainers giving there commands and watching the pokemon obey like robots. She looked at her starter, now a machoke and realized she never commanded anything like that from him. Actually he
Seemed to know how to handle him in battle with out her.

He seemed to almost be like a person. She would talk to him like one and when someone broke her heart, cry in his very human like arms. The machoke seemed to understand her; even though they were of different species he seemed to be the only one who respected her as a person. As a living breathing being with a soul...
But this was just the spark, as time went on. Eve found herself releasing all her pokemon but her Machoke, who was named Markus. Time passed again and one night as Eve had finished a pokemon challenge and was bandaging Markus’ arm. The Machoke nuzzled her head. A sign of affection and gratitude for the care she was giving him.

Eve looked up at her pokemon, not seeing him as a creature or an animal when she looked into his eyes. She saw a soul behind them, something of great wisdom and… and real love. Not love like a dog pokemon would have for its owner but love like a man… had for a woman.

Four years later, a baby was born. This baby was Mitch. He was born away from human society and raised in the countryside on a small little land with a cabin, When Mitch was six years old tragedy struck. Eve’s brother who was a rising pokemon trainer came in search for his sister but found something he didn’t expect. In a mad panic he blamed the machoke for raping his older sister and tried to do away with it, Eve wanting to protect her mate got in the way of a fatal attack on Markus and both parents were killed.

Thankfully Eve was able to send her son running away and he barely escaped the death of a very dangerous and confused trainer. The young machop hybrid found aid in two rookie trainer children who did not yet know what they had stumbled upon and over time learned to see Mitch as a living being. He traveled with the two never knowing what happened to his parents tell he was twelve years old and returned to the cabin to find it in ruins and the remains of his parents…

That was the first time Mitch had tried to take his life. But thankfully his human friends were enough to keep him living for a few more years before one of the trainers was killed in a pokemon battle accident. Mitch unable to withstand this torture of losing those he cared for tried to take his life once more but was barely saved again by the last remaining friend.

Mitch is now seventeen and no longer travels with the trainer friend. He is out on his own keeping in touch with a few buddies who accept him but always being on his own. He can’t handle growing too attached to anyone because he fears the pain that comes with loss.

Attacks: Low kick, leer, focus energy, karate chop

Other: nope

Plot device character:

Name: Ace

Age: 18

Gender: female

Pokemon of: Charmeleon

Description: She stands at nearly six feet and her body is the color of crimson red. Her eyes are a faded gold color and her head has the snout of a charmeleon and the backwards horn. Her black hair grows around the sides of her head and around the horn but not in front or on it. It is always pulled back into a tight short ponytail. She has a very curved build, not too thin but well curved like an hour glass. She has a short tail with the flame on the end and three fingered hands with claws. She wears a black leather jacket with a green tank underneath and fitted jeans that slid up under her tail.

Personality: Ace is well, a lose cannon. She will blow up at anyone who she deems worthy to be ticked off at and calls no one her friend. She seems pretty much a ruthless hot head. But there is more to Ace then what appears…

Not a Seadra
Name: Laura

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Pokemon of: Sceptile (still sort of Grovyle-like at this age)

Description: Laura stands about 5’7” with an extremely shapely, lithe build for running, much like that of a raptor. Her skin is slick, glossy and a forest green color excluding a reddish pink stripe around her waist and just between her chin and neck that extends a bit down her breast. She has curved, sharp fingers with no nails, which brings up her hands; they only have four fingers as she never had pinkies. Her face is slightly elongated and dinosaurian, but she displays more emotion in her light orange eyes than many humans. Her long blue-green hair was never cut and is disturbed by small crests on the sides of her head and a great green leaf growing from the top all the way down her straight hair. Also, she has a natural pink streak on the left side (from a front view of her) of her hair.

Laura is slightly more Pokémon than human, typical for her mom being the Pokémon, and her posture proves it. Her arms are almost never straight at her side and her legs are almost always bent. Also, she has a hard time standing at times because of the way her feet are shaped, narrower with longer toes and a shorter actual foot by human standards. However, this is partially balanced by an extra toe on her heel from the sacrifice of two toes at the front. She has a bit of a tail, maybe a foot long and leafy that her pants have to be fit around. Her tongue is forked and lizard-like. On each of her wrists grow two long, blade-like leaves that she uses for simple tasks such as cutting fruit or peeling shrimp, which she is quite fond of.

Laura typically wears a simple tee-shirt or tank-top of any color that doesn’t clash with her skin. For pants she likes longer shorts or pants that cover her feet, as she doesn’t have the option of wearing shoes often. However, sometimes she can hunt down someone who can make her some special sandals so her feet don’t get muddy and nasty. Normally there is also some sort of cloak over her to prevent being seen by humans. Always there is a beige cord, sometimes with beads, tied around her ankle to remind her of who she is and the great sacrifice that brought her into the world.

Personality: Laura is strong-willed and doesn’t like to give in. She hates being pushed around, but she also doesn’t like to fight physically, so she just runs away if it comes to that. However, she won’t forget the face of someone who was mean to her or someone she considers a friend for a very long time and holds fairly strong grudges. She doesn’t make friends easily and has really rocky social skills, as she’s been outcast from the world too long for good ones.

Laura is typically a bit rude and moody around humans that don’t see her for who she is and certain types of Pokémon that remind her of why her father was separated from her and her mother. Actually, she’s moody even around the best of her friends. No matter how she I comes across, though, this hybrid is still a good, trustworthy friend when all’s said and done.

Laura is often found thinking wistfully of a day when her strange features would not be disdained by pure humans. For now, however, she understands that she has to be very careful around them and only talk to those who don’t send her a hateful glare at her passing. An understanding of real, lasting friendship is lacking in this hybrid’s mind, as she has only had friends that she lost soon after meeting them, for whatever reason. Still, none of them have been others like her, other hybrids…

Family: Laura has a sister (Grovyle w/a few Treeko features) who is just a bit younger than her. She hasn’t seen her sister Christa in years. Her mother was the Pokémon.

History: Laura’s father, a man called Chris, was a Pokémon breeder back when that was more or less a normal job. He had a great reputation for raising your Pokémon well and delivering them back happy, so business was pretty good. One trainer brought in his Grovyle to be cared for while he went on vacation. This Grovyle always wore a beige cord on her ankle or wrist, for reasons unknown. Of course Chris, a man of business, took in this little girl for the time, which was not set though it was supposed to be a good while.

Indeed it was, a very long time. Chris even evolved the Grovyle while caring for her, but as time passed he also became quite attached to her, nicknamed Maria. The two were very close, but Chris still saw her as a dinosaur, a beast, not a sentient, human-minded being. She proved him wrong as time marched on its never-ending course. In fact, some days he thought that Maria was smarter than he was! She solved puzzles, taught him some of her language, and had those orange eyes that just seemed to have a brilliant soul behind them.

Unfortunately, through the year business got slower and slower as people stopped wanting to pay just to have their fighting tools raised. But Maria wasn’t picked up. Apparently her trainer had forgotten her, that or he had been killed. The Sceptile, however, was enjoying herself with Chris. She felt strongly for him, wishing that he would take her for an intelligent being and not just a smart animal. She had convinced herself that one day she would show him that she was his equal and he didn’t have to be shy with her.

It was sure that Chris was shy about this creature, though on occasion he had retied her cord just to be kind. She always seemed to intimidate him with her knowledge and ability to comprehend, forcing him to force himself to think about what she was. One day, however, that would all change.

Maria was the only Pokémon left at the breeding center that night. She was sitting out on a stone in the backyard, staring over a cliff that a lake could always be found under, the black water sparkling in the moonlight. Chris came outside to check on her to hear a strange sound coming from the Sceptile’s direction. He walked over to her to find out what it was. It was a song, strange and alien in words but beautifully tuned nonetheless. He sat on the grass next to her, Indian-style, to listen.

When Maria had finished singing Chris clapped gently. She smiled at him. In that smiling face he saw a living, thinking soul, not just a dinosaur. There was a certain fondness in her eyes that he couldn’t deny. That started the flame that would grow over the next few months into real love…

The center was having no business at all now, but Maria was still there. It was time for Chris to close for good, but he could not because he still had Maria. By now he really loved her and didn’t care about the barrier. Also, he had learned a choppy bit of how to understand Sceptile speech. He came in and told her that he was closing up and wanted her to come with him. She understood, forgetting about her old trainer. He took her in a beautiful luxury ball away from this town, all of his money too. They were going somewhere remote, where they could live together. Chris stocked up heavily on supplies and found a wooded area for them to build their home.

Maria came out with much relief, not liking the confining space of the ball, even if it was an expensive Luxury Ball. Chris threw it out as soon as his soon-to-be-mate was out of it. They slept out that night, the night that begun their new life.

From that day they built a home in one of the trees and lived there happily. Three years passed and a small child that Chris called Laura was born to learn two languages, that of Pokémon and that of humans. She lived peacefully in the treehouse, eating both the food that her father would go out to town to buy and the natural food from plants that her mother would gather. Laura grew strong and fast with her younger sister Christa, born four years after Laura and named after her father. When the elder child was nine, however, disaster would strike.

It was a normal day, Maria returning from gathering plants for the children, when Chris was found near death at the base of the tree. The Sceptile dropped what she was carrying and leaned over him, hoping he would wake up. He looked her in the eye and said, “Take the children and run. Get out of here. They, the beasts, are coming for the girls… get them to safety, don’t worry about me…” But Maria refused at first. Chris reasoned with her, then sat up with all of his strength and kissed her with his final breaths. He fell back, breathing slowly. The final words he mumbled before Maria stood to walk away were: “Until Heaven.”

The Sceptile found her children huddled in the treehouse, crying about Daddy and “them”. Maria told the girls that he couldn’t come with them and they had to leave now. Laura jumped up to go; Maria scooped up Christa in her arms. The two then ran through the woods, trying to escape from “them” and get to another forest. The only way was to cross the river, which had never been bridged.

Maria dove into the rushing water headlong and reached the other side with a very disturbed Christa. Laura dove in more reluctantly and barely crawled onto the shore before being swept away. Her mother rescued her, luckily, grabbing her hand just in time. They were all worn out and slept there that night, lucky to have escaped from the beasts over the river, which were apparently a pack of released wolf Pokémon that had reverted to beastly behaviors.

The family could not live in peace though. Maria huddled Christa close to her that morning after gathering a scanty breakfast for the group. Laura sat by the river, throwing stones into it with a melancholy look on her face. Her father was gone, never to come back. Salty tears mixed with the fresh river water just before she slipped, screeching for help. None would come, for they were to far away. Laura drifted down the rushing river to a calm place where a girl was fetching the water for her family.

She was frightened to see a strange green creature floating down towards the shore, where it stopped. This girl, named Sherrie, reached out to see if it had a pulse. Laura was alive. Sherrie wanted to take the girl back to her home to get her some food and clothes other than the ripped, scanty ones she was wearing now, but then she thought they would freak out. The girl’s orange eyes opened before Sherrie and Laura sat up, coughing up river water. Sherrie cared for her at a distance, bringing food to her every day for one meal while she got her own food the other two meals a day. Laura also requested a length of beige cord from the girl to remember her mother and father by, which she now wears at all times. Sherrie was Laura’s only true friend.

Now Laura has grown up, age seventeen. She’s been wandering about for about three years now, on her own without Sherrie because her family finally found out and banished Laura. She tries to find humans that will accept her, but when she can’t she just moves on her way. No other hybrids have ever crossed her path, making her feel even emptier…

Psychic

Really and truly
Huh, another Grovyle morph. :p Be interesting RPing with you, cdra1617.
Myuu, I might edit the history depending on what you say about what I put for Other, or I just might add on to it later. :p

Name: Kedra (kinda like the female version of Kendar, if, yunno, he was a hybrid…and a girl)

Age: 15

Gender: female

Pokemon of: Grovyle

Description: Barely five feet tall, Kedra is short for her age but tall for a Grovyle. She’s very thin- she doesn’t only have a sleek, slim build unlike that of a normal Grovyle, but she’s rather malnourished. She has forest-green scales covering her body, except for her stomach and lower jaw, which are crimson red in color. Her face is very reptilian, having the Grovyle snout and sharp, golden yellow eyes. Long, blueish-green hair falls around her shoulders in light waves. Leaves the same color as her hair stick out from her forearms, a rather large number of leaves, actually, more than most Grovyle do.

Kedra sports a black t-shirt with a low-cut neck, as well as a pair of dark blue jeans. She doesn’t have any footwear because her clawed feet won’t fit into any shoes.

Personality: Kedra is a rather shy girl who isn’t really very sociable. She is very quiet, and can sometimes be found daydreaming about one thing or other, and when someone asks her why she is looking up at the sky with eyes clouded over, she’ll blush and look away shyly. She has her own opinions, though she’ll rarely voice them aloud, and she’ll always listen to what other have to say about the matter. She won’t easily change her mind about something without a great deal of careful consideration- Kedra spends a lot of her time thinking, which is why few people really like being around her. She doesn’t really mind this, as she prefers being alone than being in any crowd. If there are a few people around, though, she won’t mind unless they all get in her face. She isn’t much of a talker.

Family: Human father and Pokémon mother- only child, thankfully

History: It all started with a young trainer named Richard. Well, he wasn’t very young- he was in his late teens when he received Kedra’s mother, Amchel (so was she named), as a starter Pokémon from professor Birch. Richard had battled long and well with Amchel, evolving her no further than her Grovyle from- it was later found out that he found Sceptile much less attractive. It was around that point that the teen started realizing how he wanted Amchel. It is unknown at what point Richard really began lusting over her, but Richard’s few other Pokémon guessed it was just before he gave them to professor Birch to take care of.

Richard realized he was actually attracted to his Pokémon when he saw her bathing in a pond one night, the moonlight reflecting off her wet body, glistening from sweat from a long day’s traveling. Things got out of hand when the two actually realized they shared feelings of not love, but lust towards each other, and so Kedra was born.

Richard had been disgusted by the hybrid, not just because of what she was, but what she represented- how he had given so easily into lust. He couldn’t bear to look at the baby, so he scared Amchel away, leaving her to flee with her baby. Someone must have heard about the atrocious act of Richard and his Pokémon, because, unbeknownst to Amchel, Richard was killed, the Grovyle soon to follow. By this time, Kedra was about three, and though she didn’t fully understand the events that had come to pass, she knew she had to keep running and never get caught…

Attacks: Pound, Leer, Absorb, Quick Attack, Fury Cutter

Other: Myuu, I’m thinking that maybe Kedra had known Lexan (from Clones) but something may have happened to him, which is why Kedra is older now. It’s okay either way, but it’s your choice. :p

CHeSHiRe-CaT

A Curious Breed
I know it's long, but I wanted it to be in-depth XD I've got to say, this is one of the most interesting characters I've ever created.

Name: Magwitch Wilkins

Age: Sixteen

Gender: Male

Pokemon of: Gengar

Description: Magwitch is almost four feet tall, which seems to be a very delicate height at this age, and seems to be at a Haunter state at this time. His skin tone is of a pale lavender, as though he were very cold; he has a head of what one might assume was hair, but instead, violet ingrown spikes that trail from his forehead, getting shorter until reaching the back of his neck. His ears are sharply pointed at the tips, and he has the characteristics of human eyes, though he his nocturnal, and his irises are shaded a deep, blood red. His head is rounder than a human's, and the cranium curves upward in an almost extraterrestrial fashion. His cheek bones are lifted fairly high, and most of the time, his eyelids are blackened, as though he hasn't slept in years. His most prominent feature is his devilish grin, with sharp canines and bone-white teeth that can be seen even in the darkest corners of a house built with no windows. His nose is flattened against his face with slits for nostrils (lawl, Lord Voldymort xP).

He has a human neck that is seated upon a wide, bony torso; his arms are fairly short in length, though his hands are wide, and his fingers long with an almost clawed feeling about them. His legs may be short as well, but he is built powerfully in his calves and thighs, strong enough to outrun a Ponyta in an uncommon case. His feet are in the same proportion as human feet, but the nails are longer, thicker, and sharper, with a discolored yellow look. He wears a stained, black overcoat with a black turtleneck sweater, kaki shorts, and white tennis shoes appropriate for his nails.

Personality: Magwitch does not fear humans, and the hereditary delight for fright inherited from his Gengar father just presses him on to enjoy scaring the living daylights out of those he pleases. He is not usually active during the day, and is usually concealing himself behind dumpsters, alleys, and the occasional abandoned warehouse. Since he has nothing better to do during the daytime, he collects broken toys that he finds wherever he goes, drifting from town to town, and locking them in a worn leather briefcase. However, at night, the dark comes out to play, and so does Magwitch. He enjoys walking the streets among groups of people at night, using a few astounding tricks attributed from his Pokémon blood.

He can manipulate the tendons, bones, and muscles in his hands to extend and jut out, shooting blade-like fingers out of their sockets, and actually detatch his hands from his wrists as though it were an illusion. Magwitch can also manipulate what a human sees with telepathic powers to an extent, causing them to see frightening apparitions, mirages, and other things he so desires, though using this ability often causes shearing pain in his forehead, leaving traces of small migraines. If necessary, he will use this trick in short intervals during the daytime to get around without causing panic in people.

He is usually seen grinning with his eerie smile, and enjoys to have fun in every way he possibly can. Though startling is his appearance, Magwitch is a kind and fierce soul who can either be your most trustworthy and devoted friend, or your worst enemy. He loves to gab about rumors he's heard about, and at times, can be the center of attention. However, he is also self-conscious and receptive to others' feelings.

Family: His father was the Pokémon, and his mother a human.

History: At one point in time, an older teenaged girl named Kayla Wilkins had come to the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town. Only a week prior to this visit, her companion and Pokémon, a Furret named Charlie, had died of a viral infection. Charlie had been hosted at the Goldenrod City Hospice in the care of a loving staff who had all been watching over Charlie as the months had gone by. While Charlie was in the Hospice, Kayla helped her mother, Buena, host her radio show at the tower. After every session, she visited Charlie up until the moment he died. What was strange was that before Charlie had fallen ill, he and Kayla would venture through the park and compete in the Bug Catching Contest every week. While Kayla searched for magnificent Bug Pokémon, Charlie would run about picking up discarded items and bringing them to Kayla. After a long time, Charlie had gotten so many different things from the park that his Trainer actually used a suitcase to keep the things in. They would keep the most precious of his finds, and store them there.

They took the Magnet Train on a pouring, spring day, gray clouds lurking in every nook in the sky, with no sign of happiness but the tears that rained from the heavens. It was at that time that they traveled from Goldenrod to Saffron City in Kanto, where they then took a bus ride to Lavender Town. They had arranged for Charlie's funeral on that day, and Kayla and her mother were the only ones to attend. The Pokémon's body had been taken the night before, and was prepared for its capsule in the Pokémon Tower.

Buena took her daughter to the second floor, where a few of the funeral directors showed them the tomb of Charlie. Buena and Kayla were then left alone at the capsule, staring at the name of her beloved Pokémon, in grief and utter remorse. The pain they felt lasted for more than two hours as they recollected memories with each other on the floor next to the grave, sniffling and sobbing with each other. It was then that Buena received a phone call from the Radio Tower, calling her back to do her evening show. The mother asked if her daughter would be able to take care of herself, and Kayla told her that she would spend an hour or so more at the Tower, then go to Saffron City to one of her long-distance friends, the copy-cat girl's house. Buena then left, leaving her daughter alone in the Tower.

It was then that Kayla was confronted by a handsome young boy who was about a year older than her. He had dressed all in black, and had a pale, attractive face with glittering eyes and a wonderful smile. Apparently, one of his Pokémon had died as well, and he was visiting its grave (the grave's name was marked with "THOMAS, THE GENGAR"), watching over it with remembrance. The two conversed in the Tower, and shared stories about each others' Pokémon. Suddenly, Kayla was overwhelmed by a wave of grief that shattered her defenses and made her vulnerable to the world crashing down on her. She did not know what she would do, and she felt helpless there, but the young boy told her not to shed any more tears, for what has passed on is gone, and whatever lies ahead for the dead, the dead will always remember those who loved them.

Kayla confided in the boy, though he never told her his name. After she had left the Tower, they kept in touch often. She would come to their meeting place, the Tower, one night out of the week, and stay there until dusk bid them farewell. She had found that she was beginning to fall head over heels in love with him, and after a year's time, she decided she wanted to find out what his name was (as she had always referred to him as "the pale young gentleman").

One evening in January, Kayla and the boy were on the second floor of the Tower. Kayla suggested being a bit adventurous, and convinced the boy to climb with her to the fifth floor, where a larger mass of graves than the floors below it were placed. Being around the dead so frequently made it seem almost natural to Kayla, and she had gotten over the death of her dear Charlie, and the pale young gentleman had made it possible. He had made her felt things she had never felt before, and taught her so many things about life, death, and what lied ahead for them all.

On the fifth floor, she pursued him, and asked him what his name was. He refused to tell her, but she persisted. She then made a most startling bargain: a kiss in exchange for his name. The boy was reluctant. He did not answer her, but they both knew that their feelings for each other were potent and strong. It was then that the boy placed his tender lips on hers, and they became enveloped in a passionate kiss.

Time seemed to stop for a moment, and they were suspended; locked in that kiss. Things began to move faster, and Kayla did not realize what was going on. Everything seemed so sudden at the time, but the passionate kissing became lust and fiery love. She was lost in her world of desire and happiness, that she felt as though she were in heaven. It was then that the boy leaned over her body, and whispered in her ear, "My name is Thomas." It was then that her heaven suddenly shattered into a thousand pieces. The clouds burst into flames, and she tumbled from happiness into a sudden and frightening frenzy of darkness and nightmares. The name had sparked something horrible within her, and shot her systems down. She was knocked out cold, and fell unconscious in the hazy mist of her mind.

When she awoke, Thomas was gone, and her clothes were drenched in sweat, with her skirt disarranged and shifty. She felt her heart pounding heavily with fright and despair. Where was the boy?

After that night, Kayla still attempted to visit the Pokémon Tower every week, trying to search for Thomas, but every time she showed up, he was nowhere to be found. It seemed as though he had vanished off of the face of the planet. Meanwhile, she was beginning to have frequent vomiting, and at times sat around the toilet to heave her intestines out. She knew it was a bad sign, and her mother was beginning to notice. Had Thomas gotten her pregnant?

It was one night, after about four months that Kayla had found out that she was pregnant. She wore baggy and large clothes to conceal her slightly bulging abdomen. She was in Lavender Town, getting ready to go inside the building to visit the tomb of Charlie with Charlie's old briefcase that she started having contractions. Mr. Fuji, who had been strolling around Rock Tunnel back into Lavender at the time with an orphaned Bulbasaur, saw the young girl going into crying fits of pain. Her water broke, and Mr. Fuji immediately rushed her into his home, where he took her to a private room, and helped deliver her what would seem, premature infant.

But the infant was perfectly normal in size. Except that its eyes were scarlet.

Mr. Fuji and Kayla made a compromise with each other, and she told him everything about that night with Thomas. Mr. Fuji agreed to raise the child while she lived in Goldenrod until she was old enough to leave home, and reclaim the child. She would have visitation rights, still according to her old schedule of visiting Lavender Town. She named the boy "Magwitch," after a character in a book she had been fond of. They kept the secret from Buena, and never told her anything about Magwitch.

Four years after Magwitch was born, the boy started developing the strange characteristics one might accompany with a Ghastly. He had been bald with not a single hair, but if one looked close enough, you could see that the pores in his head would excrete violet steam. His canines began to develop, and startling changes began occurring. Kayla was now living on the Cerulean coast, and took Magwitch with many good wishes from Mr. Fuji to live with her in her cottage. When Magwitch moved in, however, the local residents feared him. The boy always had a nack for trouble, and started changing with Haunter characteristics at the age of eleven.

One resident, named Karl Crawford, despised Magwitch to the bone. He thought the boy was a demonic infant born from the womb of a witch, Kayla. In fact, he spent some of his free time spying on them, growling in disgust at the boy and the affection he and his mother shared, for she was the only one who would accept him, though she too began wondering why he was developing these startling features. The loss of Karl's Jynx just made him even more spiteful and veangeful, as though it had been the Wilkins' faults.

It was then that Karl was spying on them as they were getting out of the cottage, to drive to Lavender Town. Karl had enough of Magwitch. The boy was driving him insane, and the more his presence lurked, the more Karl's bloodthirst grew for the boy to be dead. Magwitch was only helping his mother with her bags, as she wanted him to stay home and watch the house while she went to the Pokémon Tower. He brought out Charlie's old suitcase, and gave it to her, and at this point, Karl thought that Magwitch was going with his mother to Lavender. He then took a shortcut through Saffron to get to Lavender, while Kayla Wilkins drove down the coast.

It was the next day, and still, his mother had not come back. Magwitch was frightened and scared, and despite his young age, decided to go to Lavender himself to find his mother. He did not dare file a missing persons report, for the police department would only stare at him oddly and sneer in his direction. A few times, he got lost and was stranded for a night or so in the woods, crying himself to sleep and living off of berries, until he finally reached the Pokémon Tower.

Since no one but he was looking for her, no one noticed the disappearance of Kayla Wilkins. The boy searched and searched for his mother inside the Tower, hoping that maybe he would find her revisiting it. Thoughts that she might have gone back home filled his head, and he would run up the staircases, sobbing and crying, for his mother was nowhere to be found.

It was then that he found her on the top and oldest floor of the Tower, slumped inside of a large capsule at the summit. Her body was mangled and broken, distorted to fit inside the tomb with staring, blank eyes. The original corpse of the Pokémon that the capsule had been holding was gone, but the name on the grave read, "MONDO, THE JYNX." At the sight of her disfigured body, Magwitch was brought to his knees, and everything that had held his life together came apart, and he was broken, alone, and depressed.

On the way back down the Tower, as he was sure they would listen to his pleas now, he passed a tomb that read, "THOMAS, THE GENGAR." There placed on its grave was the suitcase full of Charlie the Furret's toys. His mother must have left it there...and was pursued by someone. Someone who chased her to the top and murdered her. He took the suitcase, and soon afterward, reported his findings to the family friend, Mr. Fuji, who then alerted the police.

From then on, Magwitch lived with Mr. Fuji, but infrequently. He became a loner, and drifted from town to town, becoming independent. At night, Mr. Fuji would give him English, Arithmetic, and History lessons, but never had he dared to go near Pokémon. Memories of the Tower haunted him, and the reason for why Charlie's suitcase was on the grave of a Gengar made him shiver at night, when he'd look in the mirror and see himself with features of a Haunter.
