Evolving does not raise your stats!

Did anyone notice that after you evolved, the stats were exactly the same as right before you evolved?

Most pokemon learn moves faster in the unevolved forms but some can learn different moves in the evolved forms. So is it necessary to evolve? However, I don't know if the stats growth of the unevolved/evolved forms are the same.

The stats do change.

I tried to evolve my Bulbasaur, Torchic and Electrike but their stats didn't change at all. What pokemon do you use?
