EVs for Killing but Dead

Odd title, but I need to know

Instead of asking it as a question, I'm gonna say it as my current situation.

I'm raising Attack EVs on my Kecleon, and I'm battling Carvahna/Sharpedos. Twice I've killed the Carvahna/Sharpedo, but died to Rough Skin (Once Carvahna, once Sharpedo). So that's 6 EVs unaccounted for (Using Macho Brace).

Do EVs get added when you get EXP, or for killing the Pokemon? Did my Kecleon get those 6 EVs?

if you got the exp from it then, yes. they are calculated at the same time

then i guess you didnt get the ep. if your pokemon is dieing to rough skin, you ay want to kick it down a notch.
