Ex Holon Phantoms.

Anyone know anything about how much these cards are worth/what they will go for? I hadn't bought any cards in about five years, but I saw a pack of them by the cash register, so I figured why not. I didn't see this set in the price guide at pokegym.net nor did I see any bidding for them on eBay.

The best price guide is to go on an auction site and check out how much whatever card you want for is currently being sold at. That will give you a rough idea as to what the market will bear.

Like the other Holon set, I haven't been too impressed with this set.

Ex: Holon Phantoms, like any other Ex Sets, are usually cost $3.48 (including tax) if you get it from Wal-Mart. And that set includes Mew Ex and Mewtwo* (those two I already have).

^ Yeah, neither have I, if you ask me... They totall defy the natural weakness and such... I mean, as anyone heard of a Fighting Type who does major damage to Lightning and yet it's weak to Lightning? XD

And the Golduck Delta Species is a huge *ssh*le... Unless you can knock it out first, then you can place Staduim Cards of your own...

So a little off-topic, you wouldn't advise I buy any cards from this set, even though I did quite enjoy the complexity of EX Delta Species?

I've been put off by the thought of ANOTHER Fire/Fighting deck anyway.

EX Crystal Guardians...hurry up!

Go ahead, even though the cards type is supposed to be original, but with special type with better attacks.

Nah I'm not saying that... It's only my opinion about the set... For me, there aren't any good Staduim Cards or even Trainer Cards that would benefit the non-Delta Species...

It's your choce if you want to buy the set or not...

Well, I purchase a box per set becaue I've been collecting these things since Base Set came around. So, it's just a matter of policy for me.

I do enjoy the dynamics of the set, but I don't see the practicality of it. What players want are soupped up EXs and playable supporter and stadium cards...not a novelty item such as these "freak o' nature" Pokemon.

Although, I do like Shiny Mewtwo

a site that I check often is gamers-tcg.com he usally has the good cards in the set.Oh,and I don't know for you but me and everyone I know who plays pokemon, when we got a pack of these we all got 4 rares,my next 2 rares and thats how it's been for me.The type srewup actually helps, say you tell your oppent before hand that your deck is all elec,BUT what you didn't tell him/her is that they are Holon Phantoms.Ex. Elec type pidgey to pidgot elec Mewtwo.
I have a FIRE type Kingdra from there.;230;

Why would you tell your opponent what type of deck you play with?

Anywho...

My box finally arrived, and like the Legend Maker box I purchased, I really got more than my money's worth on it. I was kinda shocked - perhaps Nintendo is being generous?

Nothing in the set, at least in what I received, would make a killer deck combo. Golduck has possibilities, and Mew EX could be somewhat useful if you had a way to get energy back into your deck from your discard pile. The fact that there aren't really 2-3 really good deck cards in this set might explain why the box prices average around $60-$65 now. Some sets, like Unseen Forces, really skyrocketed in price once people saw all the EXs that were availble in the set.

One thing I have noticed is that the "reverse holo" style format is not very popular with collectors. Normally, holos can go for $4-$10 depending on character and attacks. But the Delta Species types generally go for much less.
