Okay, I've been headbutting these trees in the Ilex forest all day, and no sign of Exeggcute. Is there some special trick I'm supposed to be doing, or am I just stupid?

Also, you don't find it there. You find it on those headbutt trees behind the daycare centre, and on that route West of Ecruteak City (you know, where you catch Tauros, etc), iirc.

Hmm... try the Following Routes:

Route 30
Route 36
Route 38

That's where I catch them mostly.

Really? I didn't. Just found Noctowl and some others. Probably just me, as i caught mine in the places i mentioned.
