pssh who needs to talk to someones face, when you can plan what your going to say beforehand and then send it!

thread is just an excuse for your typical misc. poster to "try to be witty lol".

I actually prefer face to face communication. For me, the order of perferred communication goes:

Face to face
Email
Phone (I hate phones.)
Letter (They take forever...)

But I'm old fashioned, you see...

Okay, I really think e-mail sucks.

There is definitely something to be said for anonymous online conversation, but when it extends to people you know irl it gets a little weird.

I'd rather have total strangers who I'll never see know my business as opposed to people I see on a daily basis. I'm assuming others feel the same which is why they come online.

Laziness and convenience probably killed the necessity to meet people face to face.

"Oh, I don't have to actually leave my house and meet up with this person to talk to them, I can just text/IM/facebook them!"

I do like hanging out though. :(

The other day I called up a friend to hang out for an hour or two, he lives close by, so it's no burden.

We just sat around and talked, actually DOING nothing. It's just fun, it's a nice way to kick back, and infinitely more satisfying than expressionless boring otl communication.

To be truly honest, people overtax themselves with multi-tasking, and attempt to try communicating with others via bookface while doing work and whatnot. Also, long distance communication is impossible to be done face to face.

Personally, I prefer face to face, which is why I usually leave my cell phone home when I go out on weekends (and to avoid drunk texts). It's just nicer to be with people talking as opposed to sitting on a computer chatting (although this is slightly ironic right now).
