Fairy Tale Crossing Sign Up

Monster Guy

Fairy type Trainer
You have probably heard of stories like Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping beauty. Classic tales written a long time ago, that your parents probably read to you when you were a kid. Well, they're not just mere works of fiction you heard or read about, they are very much real. Characters from various stories live and breathe amongst us. They live secret lives, alongside average mortals. However, they abide by the rules and laws of their own community. Some of the ‘Tales’ have thrived more than others, but all of them keep the community and their issues secret...

A long time ago, in the realm of tales, it was decided among the well-known and powerful Tales, primarily the royals, that their ways of life were dying. Fairy tales just haven't been as relevant as they once were, and Tales have started to become forgotten as a result of it. This causes some tales to completely disappear, as if they never existed in the first place. The tales started to get worried about what was going on. They put aside their differences In order to figure out a solution. They decided that in order to maintain their livelihood, they decided to adapt to modern times, and make themselves relevant again. Using very powerful magic, every Tale from every world fled into the modern world of mortals, to live amongst them. This event has come to be known as The Great Migration.

Currently, in New York City, year 2017, the tales now live in their own little community called Fairy-Tale Crossing. A suburban neighborhood that just appeared one day in Manhattan. They have adapted to modern ways, and live their lives however they choose. While on the surface, everything seems idyllic, the reality is anything but. There is great political and social strife among Tales. While the royals share leadership roles, there is much arguing amongst them over who is the true leader of the community. There have even been rumblings of non royals rising up to take over for themselves. The arguments over leadership have spun out of control, and It's only a matter of time before something bad happens...

You are a Tale, a being of lore, brought to life from various fairy tales, folklore and urban legends. You decide who you are and how your story has transpired as well as what has brought your Tale among the world of mortals.

How this particular tale ends is up to you...

Lore

A Tale is a being from classic stories whose power lies in the popularity of their story, as well as what they carried through their story, though many Tales go on to learn more skills after their story “ends”

Tales are very long lived, though they may lose power if their story becomes more forgotten, it will not kill them but it will bring them down more in overall strength. Tales are quite hard to kill, some are easier than others but Tales can survive numerous injuries that would fatally injure regular people. That said, they aren’t immortal and things such as decapitations can just as easily kill a Tale as anyone else. Tales are also generally stronger, faster, have more stamina, etc. than your average person. The more well-known your story is, the stronger you are. Royals (particularly the princesses) have the most power and influence in the community.

Not every Tale’s story went exactly as it was written. Alternate character interpretations and creative changes to more well known Tales are encouraged.

Non-human characters are required by law to hide their non human characteristics in public. Some are given magic or potions to suppress or even control their alternate forms. More noteworthy Tales were given this from the start but they are technically available to all, but are incredibly expensive causing more of a rift between the rich and the poor.

Fairy Tale Villians exist alongside the heroes. The Tales signed a contract that forgives past sins so they may all live together. The Villians do have to promise to play by the rules, and give up their villainous ways, but not all of them obey...

---

The plot of this RPG is loose. It will depend on the characters that join, and what sort of actions they take. As stated, how this fairy tale ends is up to you. Hopefully, I'll get approval for a Discussion Thread, and we can talk about these things more...

Rules

1. No god-modding / no Mary Sues I think that goes without saying.

2. No Bunnying other people's character's without the other person's permission.

3. Standard serebiiforun RPG rules apply.

If you break the rules, I will first gently remind you and then whine at you excessively and publically if you continue to break either of the two above rules. I have the right to ask you to leave the RP if it gets out of hand. Pls don’t do it.

3. You may have multiple characters.

4. Try to be active. RPing is more fun when people post regularly.

5. Have fun!

Metallic Wonder
Splendid! Whipping out my WIP for now, and will likely work more on it tomorrow.

Name: Adam Ryder
Alias/Nickname: Little Red Riding Hood
Tale: Little Red Riding Hood
Age: 20
Gender: Male
TgNPaDk.png

Appearance: Adam is a moderately tall young man, standing at about 1,92 Cm tall. He has a well built physique due to his workout-habits, and he is quite proud of his appearance. His skin is fair, and has a slight tan, And even though he is tan enough to not look like a corpse, he is far from getting the Miami tan everyone fusses on about lately. His hair is fairly short, and neatly trimmed into a spiky, simple hairdo that requires very little attention to look good. His eyes have a generally stern look to them, and have a warm, deep green color. His eyebrows are neatly trimmed, and contemplates his generally slim face.

Clothing-wise, Adam generally enjoys dressing in a comfortable fashion, although after moving out from home, he has tried dressing in a more daring way, as an act of rebellion. He has always had a thing for the color red, and red is the primary color of which he dresses after. His main attire these days consists of a tight red hooded T-shirt, and a pair of black leather pants, completed by a pair of casual brown sneakers. He wears a dark brown belt around his waist, which quite frankly is not necessary, considering how tight his pants are. He is also experimenting with accessories in the form of leather bracelets with silver studs, a silver chain necklace and silver piercings in his ears.

Personality: Adam is generally considered to be a fairly calm and collected person, who takes life in his own tempo with little to no regard of what others around him might think of him. He is stoic and standalone-ish, despite actually enjoying social interactions. He is generally somewhat slow to trust others despite his wishes to do so, and always second-guess peoples intentions with him. The reason behind this is that he come from a broken home. His father was abusive, and his mother would always send him out doing errands, which sent him through the dangerous woods. The fact that his parents are not around anymore is also the main reason for his newfound crude nature, as he feels the restrictions that held him back all these years are gone.

Despite being raised to act like a proper, obedient gentleman, Adam shies away from this by his way of acting. Since this is all fairly new to him, he sometimes fails to sound as tough as he tries, or he questions otherwise obvious things. Needless to say, Adam is a conflicted person, tasting a new freedom now that he is free from his parents, a freedom of which he intends to utilize to the fullest. He is open for new things, and doesn't judge others easily. He has a rather adventurous side to him, which he explores by the way he dresses and the new way he acts.
Adam is a social butterfly, and really enjoys the company of others, even though he can come across as shy due to not knowing how to behave in social situations. He is generally kind and helpful to those who bear him no ill intentions, and rude and borderline violent to the people who wish him harm. Once he starts to trust someone, he consider them a friend for life, and would go to long lengths in order to help them out. He is very selfless with his friends, though he appears otherwise.

As expected by a young man living under suppression his entire life, Adam is very prone to anger despite his generally kind and benevolent nature. Since he grew up learning that expressing how you feel is a bad thing, he has developed difficulties with expressing himself, which nowadays often results in unpredictable outbursts of anger. Since expressing oneself is not frowned upon in this new world, Adam tries to learn how to deal with his anger, though he usually resorts to violence towards the people who wronged him. He keeps his feelings mostly to himself, as he is slow to trusting others, which makes him difficult to read.

History: Adam was born into a very poor family, although a family gifted with the magical arts. Even from an early age, his father would be very abusive towards him, and discipline him on ill-fit behavior. This made Adam a very abused child. His mother was no better, always asking of him to go out into the woods for her own selfish errands. Granted, some of the errands involved his loving grandmother, but still. she lives 68 miles way. Having little formal education as a child, Adam never thought there would be anything of him, and grew to become a slightly naive boy, regarding the outside world.

One day, his mother tasked him to venture into the woods yet again. This time, he was going to bring a basket tohis grandmother, who lived like 64 miles away. after A lot of arguing, he reluctantly agreed. His grandmother was a nice woman and she had fallen ill, and the basket was filled with necessities such as newly baked bread, some fruits and Tequila. Pulling his red hood up to avoid most of the sun, he ventured outside and towards the woods. The woods were like woods were. Dense, thick and full of creepy noises and absence of actual life. The road was long, but at least it was better than hanging around the house all day. Sure, there was the dangers of the occasional robbery, but he was well equipped to handle himself. Robbers usually never ventured this far into the forests either, due to the dangers. Adam knew two siblings who had come across a candy house when venturing through here once, and he knew Witches lived in such houses, or in caves. Or anywhere, really.

However, as he kept on, he was jumped by a woman. The woman was blonde, and clad in black, revealing clothing, and she threatened him for his basket. Whatever she was doing out here, he didn't know. unphased by the robbery attempt, Adam just picked out the Tequila bottle from his bag and held it out. "Wanna share this?" he said. Gods know he needed it, and by the way the woman reacted, it seemed she did too. She ended up tagging along with him for the remainder of the trip, and the two joyfully shared the bottle meant for his grandmother. The woman, named Evie, was very interesting, and the two hit it off pretty fast. She was intense, and more spontanous than he was. She more or less represented the free-spirited lifestyle that Adam himself longed after. They eventually made their way to his grandmothers cabin. How anyone could live in the middle of nowhere like this was beyond him, but the duo entered the small house after knocking.

His grandmother was laying in bed, looking very ill. Adam and Evie was taken by surprise.
"My, Granny. What big ears you have", Adam said shocked.
"Well, that's because of the swelling, dear", she replied. she sounded weak, poor thing. Adam continued.
"Granny, what big eyes you have!".
"Well, that must be the allergies." she replied again.
"But Granny, how big stomach you have!" he then said.
"F**k you boy, i have gained some weight!" she snapped back at him. An awkward silence ensued, and they all laughed. He presented her with the basket, and made attempts at behaving sober, when he was clearly not.

(More to be added)

Very abusive upbringing. Magically adept parents. left his parents by going through the great migration

Night Triumphant
WIP for now. :p

Name: Evelyn "Evie" Lowell (born Evgeniya Sergeyevna Chernova)

Alias/Nickname: The Wolf

Tale: Little Red Riding Hood

Age: 24 (December 3)

Gender: Female

Appearance:
RkqiWHX.png
C2MiRar.png

Evie's looks are reminiscent of a "snow maiden", being a pale beauty standing at six feet tall, with long, wavy pale blonde hair that goes past her waist when let down, as well as pale ivory skin. Her hair however, is rarely let down and is more often than not tied in a high ponytail with a black hair ribbon decorating it, which she claims reminds everyone that she's still a girl despite her apparent personality and her wolfish nature. She also has long bangs that cover her left eye. Her eyes are a light seafoam green color, framed with long lashes and are often surrounded by dark eyeshadow, which emphasizes their color. She has a slim yet lean body type, with large, prominent breasts that she has no qualms about displaying or emphasizing, as well as long legs. She is not skinny, but rather, toned and muscular. In terms of her face, her eyebrows are slightly on the thin side and her nose is aquiline and rather prominent. She has three piercings on her right ear, two on her left and one on her navel. Not being a very careful or cautious person, it's pretty normal to see her with a few bruises (especially on her knuckles), small scrapes and scratches, and at times, the occasional split lip from bar fights. Her teeth are slightly yellowed from smoking, and her hands are rough and strong, as expected from someone who enjoys the activities she does. She has a tattoo on her shoulder - a tribal-style wolf inked in black.

When it comes to clothing, Evie prefers the color black in just about anything she wears, disliking pastels and pink and knows that she is attractive and thus, wears revealing, edgy clothes. She has a particularly huge weakness for black leather. Her regular, "tame" outfit (as she calls it) consists of a tight black tank top that ends just below her breasts, with some shredded holes held together by safety pins, and a fishnet neckline that highlights her cleavage. Over this, she wears a cropped, black leather motorcycle jacket with 3/4-length sleeves, a crimson metal skull decorating each side of the collar, sharp spikes on the shoulders, as well as a black zipper and black buckles around the cuffs. For bottoms, she wears black minishorts with two dark chains dangling from the right belt-loop (one plain, one with a dangling cross), topped by a thick leather belt with sharp silver spikes and a gunmetal skull buckle. On her feet, she wears black lace-up combat boots that reach to just below her knees. On her hands, she wears black leather fingerless gloves, and she wears two pairs of black, cross-shaped earrings on her ears. On the third piercing of her right ear, she wears a single black skull stud. On her neck is a simple black choker with a black crescent pendant. When she's out clubbing, however, she prefers even more revealing clothing and wilder makeup. She favors a tight black leather corset, matching bottoms, and thigh-high boots decorated with several studded belts. She tops this off with a black fur collar, and full-arm length chain-style bracelets in gunmetal. In addition to her usual black eyeshadow, she puts on black makeup reminiscent of "war paint".

As a wolf, Evie's fur is pale blonde, like her own hair...much to her chagrin.

Personality: Evie is wild and unrestrained, to the point that some even call her an "animal". She's very extraverted, often liking the company of people and is friendly and open, perhaps too open about certain things, even. She's quite a tomboy and doesn't speak in a refined manner, often using crude language and a lot of innuendo when talking and has the tendency to swear a lot...and she doesn't have much of a filter even around younger kids and older people. Because of this, some might find her crassness rather charming, but others can be turned off. She particularly enjoys the company of men, having drinking games with them (Vodka and whiskey are her favorites), as well as challenging them in a bunch of stuff, often putting them to shame in certain aspects, which she prides in and enjoys rubbing into their faces. Evie also has a high sex drive and it shows. She's a shameless flirt with a bad reputation, and she prides in that bad reputation of hers. She has a pretty diverse in men, and is even known to flirt with girls as well (she's not exactly straight). Of course there are types she doesn't like, but her spectrum is pretty broad. She tends to particularly persist more with those who try to resist her, strangely enough - harasses, too-serious types Straightforward and direct, she doesn't have much in the way of inhibitions, whether in life or in flirting, to the point that she's even brave enough to place her hands inside a guy's (or girl's) shirt if they're especially her type, stubborn or both...though if asked whether she likes said person, she will suddenly become defensive and claim that it isn't so, even though it's blatantly a lie. The more she has feelings for someone, the more she denies, an easy sign to see whether she actually does.

Evie also has a short fuse, thus she's pretty easy to anger...just as easy as it is to make her laugh in fact. She is particularly likely to lash out at "holier-than-thou" sorts, self-proclaimed "heroes" and annoying know-it-alls who think their always right. She is one to pick fights often, as she's the violent sort, and even starts bar brawls if she deems it necessary. Evie is not a person who yields in a fight or backs down easily either. No, Evie is a girl who always fights back and stands her ground, believing that doing nothing and letting things be doesn't get people anywhere, and that doormats and those who follow the rules never prosper, and also believing that yielding is for the weak. She is also very proud and hates losing bets with other people, being an arrogant winner yet a very sore loser...she usually enjoys having the last laugh. It doesn't help that she has no qualms about getting physical with anyone who makes her lose her temper, if her constantly-bruised knuckles imply anything, and she isn't a weak puncher either. Far from it, actually, as her punches and kicks hurt. Diplomacy? Forget it. It doesn't help that Evie doesn't forgive or forget easily. She holds grudges for a pretty long time, sometimes irrationally, and tends to seek out revenge rather than let things go easily.

As seen with the type of people who annoy her, it's clear that Evie has issues with authority. She cannot stand being told to restrain herself, follow the rules and stay away from trouble (the primary reason why she freely chose to leave her family instead of learning how to keep the so-called "curse" in check). Bo-ring. In fact, she seeks out trouble and danger, not caring about the consequences. She loves life and is passionate that way like a true Sagittarian, preferring to experience anything rather than just sit around, doing nothing and live a boring life as an upstanding citizen. She is a courageous and brave girl, to the point of being reckless and impulsive. She isn't afraid of challenges, difficulties and most types of people (even others' parents, of course), claiming that she's gone through worse things, so hardly anything fazes or deters her as a result. She doesn't always keep her tendencies to herself either - she has her way of roping others in when it comes to doing crazy dares or things that most upstanding people aren't supposed to be doing. Of course, this does not mean that she uses others as scapegoats for her antics - she readily owns up to whatever she's responsible for, and even covers up and lies for her friends at times if needed. You see, while she's rough around the edges and intense, she can also be kind and caring, if her friendliness is any evidence of it. Of course, not the sweet, tender type of "kind", but she does care for others and looks out for them, though she doesn't always have the most appropriate ways of showing it.

Evie has a strong appetite for rare, bloody meats and loves strong alcohol. She's a very strong drinker with a very high alcohol tolerance, but when one gets her drunk, her already fiery temper gets even worse and she may even lose control of her transformation, shifting into her wolf form and becoming extremely violent.

History: All magic comes with a price, especially dark magic. It all started with a family curse. Well, technically, it all started with one man who brought the family curse about in the first place. Zima, the first sorcerer-king of a frozen northern kingdom in the Realm of the Tales, went too far in dabbling with the wrong kind of magic, summoning a dark being who cursed him to forever taking the form of a wolf. It did not end there however, for said being also placed a curse upon the entire bloodline - one person from every generation would have to bear the burden of transforming into a wolf under several different circumstances, as well as stay a wolf throughout the entire duration of the full moon every month. For many years, the cursed descendants tried to break the spell, but to no avail, and it continued to pass from descendant to descendant, the citizens of the northern kingdom never knowing the truth as to why their rulers were so reclusive, or why there was an increasing incidence of people disappearing at the edge of the woods, especially during the period of the full moon.

Many, many years later, Evgeniya Chernova was born on the night of the blood moon, at the beginning of winter. The burden of the curse had not fallen upon her father, and neither did it fall on her father's father, but rather, their relations. Thus, King Sergei was certain that no curse would befall his direct bloodline any longer. The young princess Evgeniya, or Evie (as she preferred to be called, rather than the traditional "Zhenya") had a happy childhood. As there was seemingly no curse that plagued their branch of the family for the past two generations, and she wasn't manifesting any outward signs anyway, there was no need to hide anything. Sure, she was a rough-and-tumble child who liked being outdoors and exploring the winter woods, preferring physical play and outdoor activities over reading or learning finer things, but none of those were anything more than common behavior for a rambunctious young girl. Neither did her younger brother Artem manifest any worrying signs. He was a charming, creative boy who preferred staying indoors, wearing fine clothes, and doing art...a very princely young man. With no fear looming over them, King Sergei began a rule of warmth and openness.

However, as much as he thought that their days of secrecy was over, Queen Yekaterina, his wife and Artem and Evie's mother, was more cautious. By the time Evie was thirteen and Artem was nine, she noticed that their older cousins Nikolai and Konstantin - aged seventeen and sixteen, and descended from their grandfather's brother, whom the curse fell upon - did not show any signs of receiving the curse, despite already being at the age when the curse was supposed to manifest. Sergei brushed it off, telling her that there was nothing to worry about, there have been recorded instances when the curse would manifest as late as twenty-one years of age. Besides, there had never been an instance where the curse would affect a non-direct descendant of a cursed family member in the first place. They were going to be fine, he assured, and commented that it had been over three hundred years since the curse was laid; perhaps it was already weakening. Though Evie was already at the age that she should supposedly ought to be learning to mind her manners, act more elegantly and learn to have a more regal bearing, fitting of a future queen, she willingly spat on those expectations, proclaiming it was "no fun" and a "pain in the ass." Lyudmila, the strictest of the court's tutors, tried to correct her behavior with rather harsh methods, and often compared Evie unfavorably to the crown princess of another neighboring northern kingdom - the supposedly ethereal Elise Frost (or whatever the hell her name was), who held herself with grace at all times, often kept to her room for some reason, and preferred more "refined" pursuits. Evie scoffed at the thought, proclaiming that she wasn't about to look up to someone who was "a damn shut-in who always feels the need to be a 'good girl' and probably never even left her room for years." The more Lyudmila imposed on her, the more Evie resisted, and she found herself never looking forward to her lessons...and messing around with potential suitors. Sure, she didn't hate boys, quite the contrary in fact, but she wasn't going to bore herself to death in order to supposedly impress them, stiff upper lip and all. Rather, she challenged them in many physical endeavors (some of them dangerous) and also became known as quite the card sharp. Also, thanks to observing how commoners flirted as a child, she also began doing the same in a way Lyudmila deemed uncouth. Some of the visiting princes weren't that turned off, however, finding it refreshing that a princess of one of the northern kingdoms was warm and friendly, rather than cold and distant, unlike the reclusive Elise of the neighboring kingdom (who had a grave, cautious and stiff disposition that made her seem like she was in her forties when in fact, she was only a year younger than Evie). Evie was in no hurry, though, and rather than seriously considering her suitor options, preferred to enjoy her freedom, rather than rush it.

At night, whenever she was alone, the teenage Evie often snuck out of the palace via her bedroom window. She would either head for one of the neighboring villages (disguised as a common wench named Evelyn), or for a long walk in the woods. Despite being raised on the finest palace fare and expensive drinks, she enjoyed simple tavern food and stronger alcohol. "Evelyn" also became aware of certain rumors at the taverns, rumors about her family and a supposed "curse" that her parents never told her about (her father never saw the need to tell her, seeing as the curse did not affect their line for the past two generations). It didn't take long for her to want answers, yet she chose not to ask her parents directly, but rather, roped Artem in by asking him to check if there were any books in the library that mentioned such a curse. Artem, who was a wider reader than Evie, and thus would look less suspicious, began to look at books in the castle library until he stumbled upon one, which he immediately showed to his older sister.

Aura Of Twilight

Forever Clueless
May I reserve the wicked fairy godmother from Sleeping Beauty please? I'll try to make a WIP progress post tonight.

Minteh

It's so shiny!
W.I.P for now. I'll probably finish this tomorrow :)
Name: Cosima Zabinski (born Cosima Gaia Febe Abruzzo)
Alias/Nickname: The Frog Princess
Tale: The Frog Princess
Age: 24
Gender: Female

Appearance:
epyOv2L.png

Cosima is a moderately tall young woman standing at roughly 5'7''. She has a well-built body (albeit on the thin side) and takes a bit of pride in this knowledge. Despite her pallid complexion, she has naturally tanned skin. Whilst fairly smooth and free from blemishes, she has a few scars on her chin from an accident that occured in her youth. Like many women in her family, she inherited the dark, raven curls they are known for. It falls to just above her shoulders and is regularly cut to ensure its length. She prefers simple hairstyles to something more extravagant. Cosima is said to have sad eyes. They are small and almond shaped and are a soft, pale green in colour. Her eyebrows are thin and well-shaped. Overall, Cosima has a small, heart-shaped face. Her features make her appear quite young, despite being close to her mid-twenties. Her nose is long and thin, and looks a bit disproportionate for her small head. She has thin lips and suffers from a slight under-bite, leading
to her always seeming to have a rather lost expression on her face.

In terms of clothes, Cosima prefers simple things, and clothes that are practical for day-to-day life. Although her status as a princess would allow her more stylish clothes, she insists on shopping at cheaper shops. Most of her clothes contain hints of green as that is her favourite colour. Her favoured outfit includes a dark green blouse, coupled with a cropped lighter green sweater. She tends to wear this with plain navy jeans, or patterned ones, coupled with beige-brown boots. In the colder weather she likes to wear a velvet purple coat over the top of this. Said item of clothing is the only designer piece she owns.

Regardless of what she wears, she is never seen without wearing one of two things. The first is frog-shaped hairpin, which was given to her by her late husband. She wears it in memory of him, and in memory of her past life. The other item she is never seen without is handmade necklace. It is the arrowhead from the arrow her husband used to find her. Cosima put it together as a necklace when she found it again following his death.

Personality: For the most part, Cosima is a kind and good-hearted person, but she is not without her flaws. She's fairly predictable in her actions, and those who know her well tend to have an idea of what she's going to say, before she says it. The only times when this isn't the case is when she's extremely sad or extremely angry, in which case, no-one can ever be certain what might come out of her. Whilst she is by no means a reserved woman, and is unafraid to speak her mind when she wants to, she is fairly private about her home life and her past, especially around people she is unsure of. She is not fond of being labeled as a royal, and prefers to life a more humble and simplistic life, much to the displeasure of some of the other royals. In comparison to some of the other nobles, she is quite humble, and spends a lot of time giving back to the less fortunate.

Her husband's death changed her deeply and she finds herself unable to smile as much. Cosima became a recluse for a while, and was bitter towards the world for a long time. She despised the fake sympathies of her peers, and often wished to have died in his place. As time has passed she has gotten a better grip over her grief, but still struggles from bouts of depression every so often. Another issue she continues to struggle with is her jealousy of some of the other married Tales, especially those who's relationships may not be entirely sound.

In truth, the migration from the realm of the Tales to the human world was a conflicted time for her. Although interested to see this new world, she disliked having to leave her family behind, but a part of her was excited for the new life she could live. As mentioned before, things became a lot harder for her following the death of her husband, but she has come to enjoy life in this new world, and in many ways views it as a new start for her.

History: Cosima was born in a small village nestled just outside the walls of a royal castle. Her father was a tailor, popular with the commoners for his affordable designs, and a mother who happened to be a woods witch. She was to be their only child, but this did not stop her from frequently asking for a younger sibling. From an early age she displayed an affinity for magic and was able to cast spells from the young age of seven. However despite her talents, and a mother who was a known witch, she was often asked by her parents to hide her magic. Her fathers family did not care for magic believing it to be dark and dangerous, whereas her mothers family cared too much for it, and upon discovering that she was magically gifted from a young age, would've likely taken her away to further harness her skills.

Despite her parents pleas, Cosima continued to practice her magic, albeit privately. She did not believe it would ever bring her any physical harm.

And for some time, it seemed that it never would, until she turned fifteen. On a rough and stormy night, the family were awakened to a knock on their door, and a mysterious woman waiting outside. Cosima's mother recognised her as her sister, and swiftly invited her inside. When morning came Cosima's aunt told her story. Apparently she had been kicked out out of their family, and with nowhere else to go, she decided to search for her sister. Cosima's mother was quick to offer their home to them, but her father was less convinced, and questioned her aunt as to why she left, only to receive no answer.

For a time, the family lived a fairly normal life, though her aunt remained secretive and hidden away, often citing her fear over being discovered by her family, as the reason she never left the house. She did seem to have a keen interest in Cosima though, and frequently encouraged her to practice her magic.

Shadow of nothing
One of these days I'm gonna find a thread before Aura does....one day.

While Sleeping Beauty is tempting, can I reserve Beauty from Beauty and the Beast? I'll knock together a WIP ASAP.

Vern

Why not both?
Okay, can I have a reserve as well? I'll probably do a female Jack the Ripper (he counts, right? you know, urban legend and all). Or somebody the Robber Bridegroom (the one with the murderer in the woods, the severed finger, and the lentils). Either that, or some twisted version of the Boy who cried wolf. UGH THERE ARE SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM.

If that's okay, I'll try and WIP up by tomorrow (that's the last day of exams, so I'll have time afterwards. Right now, I gotta cram).

Vern

Why not both?
Okay, Boy Who Cried Wolf it is, then. Just gonna drop a quick WIP here.

Name: Name: Jade Yan, sometimes called Huei. Born 燕灰玉 (Translates literally to ‘Grey/Ash Jade’, and her surname translates to ‘Sparrow’)
Alias/Nickname: The Frog.
Tale: 井底之蛙 (The Frog in the Well).
Age: Very freakin’ old, but appears around 17-ish.
Gender: Female
Appearance:
dn2Uegy.png

Jade doesn’t tend to take great care of her appearance, rarely making an effort to make herself look presentable and dressing for comfort over fashion. As a result, her hair is perpetually messy and she’s often seen with a bed-head. Her hair is black, and she keeps it on the short side so it doesn’t get in the way and doesn’t require as much effort to maintain. Despite her Chinese heritage, her eyes are a green colour, something she thinks is due to her time spent as a frog and her association with the Old Man In The Woods. Her skin is on the paler side, as a result of her dislike for sunlight. She’s quite thin and in decent shape, and her physique is androgynous enough to pass for a very feminine-looking guy (which she sometimes does).

When it comes to clothing, she tends to just wear whatever is convenient, keeping only clothes of one colour/type so that she doesn’t have to chose what to wear (she does keep formal wear for formal occasions, but she prefers not to go to those as a sort of rule). She tends to wear a loose white t-shirt under a black hoodie. She likes to wear long pants, usually black and meant for outdoor activities (doesn’t own any dresses/skirts). Some of her clothes have green patterns or designs on them, but they’re usually fairly minimalistic and not very eye-catching. In colder conditions, she also wears a green/black striped scarf.

Personality: Jade is a tomboy of sorts, and very much a person who enjoys physical activity when she does partake in it. She tends to have a happy-go-lucky attitude towards things, never planning too far ahead and preferring to just do whatever she feels like doing at the current moment. She’s generally quite friendly and easygoing when around people, always making herself approachable to others, never failing to be courteous and helpful without going overboard. People who know her generally see her as a sort of ‘generally nice person’. She has an inherent curiosity and thirst for adventure, and is often found walking through unfamiliar and even dangerous places. Generally, her upbeat and laid back sort of attitude, combined with her seeming inability to get angry or offended, makes her well-liked by the people she does interact with.

Despite her seeming zest for life and adventure, engaging in reality is nothing more than an unpleasant necessity for Jade. Her true heart lies in the realms of imagination and fiction, be it her own incredibly vivid one, or that of others. She spends a lot of her time reading, watching films/tv shows, playing video games, or simply just sitting there and daydreaming. Real life is a sort of distraction for her, something she partakes in because she has no other choice - like forcing yourself to eat vegetables even though you don’t like the way they taste. She finds it boring, and tends to face things that happen to real life with a sort of casual, indifferent acceptance, a sort of ‘Oh, okay then’. She still tries her best to enjoy daily life as much as possible, putting on an act and hoping that it’d rub off on herself eventually.

She has a case of Chuunibyou (eight grader syndrome) which she developed after leaving her well and returning to society. With her memories unclear and no real identity to take comfort in, taking on the mask of an imagined fictional character was a sort of natural thing to do. It has the bonus of allowing her imagination to exercise itself in her daily life. She likes to keep it to herself instead of shoving it up in people’s faces - not because she’s embarrassed about it, just that she’d rather not bother others with her own antics. That’s why a few of her mannerisms often seem queer to the casual onlooker - for example, her tendency to constantly look over her shoulder to check for imagined pursuers.

She doesn’t like strong sunlight, and prefers to stay outside of it as much as possible - it reminds her of the last few weeks she spent in her well, which she regards as probably the worst time of her life (that she can remember, anyways). Perhaps as an unfortunate side-effect of her imagination, she’s also easily creeped out - she doesn’t mind physical, ‘simple’ things like high places or gore or stuff like that, but the more psychological stuff, like the creepy atmospheres found in horror games and good haunted houses, is something she tends to stay far, far away from. Having spent most of her childhood secluded from the opposite gender and growing up in the very uptight society of the Han Dynasty, Jade isn’t very comfortable when it comes to dealing with things like romantic relationships and things concerning sexuality, preferring to avoid it when possible. Sometimes, she manages to pass herself off as a guy if she thinks it’d be more convenient.

History: Born while her mother was wearing a Jade Pendant with an odd grey tint, Jade was never quite a normal child, and had a very strong connection to the Spirit Realm, being capable of perceiving strange, sometimes unsettling things that normal people couldn’t. Things like odd lights glowing in the forest, strange beings lingering behind those that were soon to die, stuff like that. From a very early age, it was also clear that her imagination was vivid - too vivid, in fact, to the point where she began to lose interest in the real, boring world. What they didn’t know was that the pendant was a cursed one, given to them by a spiteful priest who wanted revenge after they knocked down his temple to build their estate. Whoever bears the blood of the one wearing it would live a terribly unhappy life and become insane ('give up their soul to the spirit realm') after passing the burden on to the next generation.

It was Ancient China, back in the early Han Dynasty, when girls generally didn’t receive much in the way of education or respect (her mother taught her to read, but that’s about it, and even that was done behind her father’s back), being seen as only slightly better than objects to be married off as soon as possible in exchange for a large dowry. Her family was wealthy, so she had it relatively good in terms of material comforts, and while she was forbidden from entering her family’s extensive library, she would sneak in and teach herself. All in all, her life was probably better than that of most other girls in her time.

She was raised to be a housewife, and had skills like cooking and sewing crammed into her despite her lack of interest or talent in them. She was forced to keep her hair long in order to seem attractive to potential suitors. Her strange connection with the world of the supernatural was forced out of her the best it could be, with the general consensus being that it was a sign of bad luck. She was forced to keep her visions to herself, and she’d be beaten whenever she let something slip in the presence of anybody else. She was also forbidden from going exploring on the family’s vast estate, that being something only boys could do.

Eventually, it became clear that her mother would never have another child, leaving her as the family’s only offspring. This enraged her father, and he began to treat her like some sort of evil spirit - as he’d no longer be able to pass on his blood to the next generation, stopping his family lineage. It was during this time that she first began to withdraw into her daydreams for entertainment and as a form of escape, as her father became more abusive, and her mother began to become even more distraught, eventually descending into a sort of incurable delirium. Her father’s previous distaste for her turned into a burning hatred, eventually culminating in him kicking his insane wife out of the house so that he could try his luck again with another woman - he had plenty of possible lovers due to his political power and vast wealth. He decided to keep Jade around, as he had found a possible suitor with a good sum of cash, and had already arranged the wedding to occur within a month, so that he could collect the dowry and move on. During this time, he forbade her from showing any grief over the loss of her mother, and kept her locked away from the outside world.

In a final act of spite and defiance, Jade snuck out of the house to go adventuring in the forest that she had been forbidden to go into as a child. There she met a strange old man who had this green, sparkling mist around him. Intrigued, she went up to him to investigate, and he invited her to join him for tea, having nothing better to do. They talked, and the man took a liking to her, and he decided to do her a favour. When she told him of her current circumstances, he offered her a deal - she would be free to remain in her dreamland as she pleases, free from her father’s wrath and the oppressive society in which she lived, nothing more than an object to be married away as soon as possible just for a pittance of money that her family didn’t need. The catch? Her humanity, and her freedom in the real world. She’d become a frog and live in a small well, cut off from the flow of time and the world around her, for as long as she wished. She’d be able to break the spell by leaving the well at any time.

With her mother - the only person she had loved - gone and a crappy future already set in stone for her, she had nothing really to give up. So she thanked the man and accepted his offer, drinking the green tea he brewed and allowing it to work its magic.

As she had been told, she was transformed into a frog, and transported into a well. She remained there for centuries, almost millennia. Around her, empires fell and were replaced, everybody she had once known and hated died, but in her well, she knew none of this, nor did she care. A normal person would have been bored, but her imagination was plentiful and engaging, and she spent the days absorbed in it, dreaming about all sorts of fantastical adventures. She drew them out on the walls with some chalk that had been left on the ground, covering every inch the stone with her drawings and daydreams. Slowly, she began to forget about her past, until all her memories, even the few pleasant ones, became nothing more than a blurred haze. The well became everything she knew, and she was content in this own personal kingdom of hers, safe from everything that could hurt her.

That was, until one day, a bird arrived for a drink from the well. Jade was naturally a friendly person, and they talked for a bit, the bird speaking of the vastness of the outside world and its amazing beauty, marvelling that she was able to stay in the well for so long and be content. After a while, the Bird flew off.

Since then, Jade could never feel content in her well again. Her imaginary adventures began to lose their appeal, and she suddenly felt a strange sense of emptiness inside. Her world began to seem small and insignificant, and she grew more and more restless. She no longer knew who she was, and she began to become increasingly confused and distraught. The sun that streamed into the well began to feel oppressive and blinding, constantly beating down on her body every single day, and soon she made up her mind - she would leave the well, and go out into the real world again. Slowly, she constructed a set of stairs using the rocks and other things in the well, and climbed out. The instant she set foot in the world outside, she blacked out.

When she came to, she awoke in the ruins of her past home, now nothing more than a mount of rotting wood in a small forest near a resort in Xian. A quick glance in a nearby pool told her that her eyes, originally black, had turned green. It was far, far into the future. Lost and confused, she began to wander around aimlessly, unsure of what to do. Eventually, she ran into a young businessman, who found her odd state of dress (she was in the traditional robes of her time) and funny way of speaking to be intriguing, and took her in. She accompanied the man on his travels for a while as a sort surrogate daughter (she hadn’t aged at all while in the well, and was about 13). She found this unfamiliar world she was dropped into to be interesting, but that interest only lasted so long. It soon became apparent to her that the world was still a boring, rotten place, filled with the same selfish and evil people.

Growing disillusioned with her new reality, Jade began taking refuge once more in her imagination. She had no identity, and her memories of her previous life remained hazy, leaving her lost and increasingly unhappy. She ran away from the home of the man who had taken her in, searching for the only link to her last life that she remembered - the Old Man In The Woods. Following her sort of sixth-sense, she eventually found him again in the central park in Shanghai, working as a gardener. They talked, and Jade asked him to take away her memories, so that she could return to her paradise in the well. He told her that she had given up that well because she had grown tired of it, and that she had finally grown up. However, seeing her desperation, he gave her one final chance: “Huei Yu, you have always interested me, and I wish only the best for you. So, I will give you unlimited time. Promise me. Go and experience all that there is to experience in this world that you have given up on. If, after that, you still wish to return, then come and find me.” He handed her a Jade Pendant as a good-luck charm, and then disappeared.

Now blessed with Immortality, Jade left the park and began to wander, using her newfound immortality as well as her spiritual gifts to earn money. She travelled aimlessly, trying to ‘experience all that there is to experience’, longing for the day where she can leave this boring, broken world behind and return to the paradise of her dreams. When the great Migration took place, Jade happily went with it, if only to keep her promise to the old man, and see if the new world was any more interesting.

TL;DR (cuz that's the longest history I've ever written, I think): Born in Ancient Chinese family, mom was wearing a cursed jade pendant. Was a girl, so dad didn’t like it. Mom never had kids again, so she was seen as an evil spirit. Abusive dad. Mom went insane because of the curse. Ran away from her arranged marriage. Found Old man in woods, who turned her into a frog and dropped her into a well (after she asked). She stayed in the well, forgot her terrible past, and was happy until a bird came along and ruined it. So she climbed out, transformed into a human again, and was picked up as a surrogate daughter. She eventually ran away from her new home after getting depressed again to find out who she used to be. Found the Old man again, and asked him to let her go back to her time in the well. He said he’d let her if she experienced everything there was to experience in the real world first. Gave her immortality. Started wandering around aimlessly after that.

Skills and Abilities:
- Immortality: As a result of her contract with the Old Man In The Woods, Jade doesn’t age, and she heals from wounds/sicknesses more quickly than normal Tales. She no longer needs to eat or sleep. She can still be killed and can be hurt like any other Tale.
- Spirituality: Jade has a unique sort of connection with the world of the supernatural, and is able to perceive things that normal people can not. (Such as Ley Lines, Spirits, subtle differences in the air, etc). The most practical use of this is that she’s pretty much a walking weather forecast.

Items/Trinkets:
- Jade Pendant: A Jade pendant shaped like a part of a bamboo shoot. Given to her by the Old Man In The Woods. It glows in the dark.

Why not both?
Oohh, does that mean Chinese folk tales are allowed as well? I might have to change my character then... (man I am so indecisive). I can't wait to play Nezha.

Why not both?
Dang, I forgot people actually worshipped him. What if I messed around with the backstory and ungodified him? If that's not okay, I'll think of something else. IS it ok if the character comes from a religious/mythological thing and isn't a God/Demigod? Am I being annoying? I feel like I'm being annoying.

I kind of wanted to limit it to Fairy Tales (though, Fairy Tales has a loose definition.) >.< So, I don't really want religious/mythological figures. (This means I'm not letting Cupid and Psyche in since that opens the door to Greek Mythology.)

I'm also saying no to some literary characters too. (Things like Frankenstein's monster and Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde doesn't mesh well with Fairy Tale characters.)

Name: Odette Swan
Gender: Female
Alias/Nicknames: The Swan Queen, The White Swan, The Ugly Duckling (Not so much now, but she still thinks herself as one.)
Tale: The Ugly Duckling/Swan Lake
Age: 22

BxoVrID.png

Appearance: Odette is a petite, thin woman. She stands at slightly less than 5 feet tall. Her figure is willowy, lacking in curvature. Not that she's a block, rather her curves are just understated. She has a heart shaped face, and her facial features are soft and delicate. She has large, expressive brown eyes that often reflect sadness, framed by long eyelashes. She has a small button nose, and full lips. Her skin is naturally pale, and serves as a contrast with her long, silky, black hair. She usually doesn't wear make-up, and when she does, it's only a small amount that you wouldn't even notice it. Odette has a fragile, delicate beauty that tends to make people admire her for her beauty, or take pity on her. Both reactions embarrass her.

Odette generally dresses elegantly, but not too over the top either. She generally prefers to wear white, and other pastel colors. Her favored outfit includes a white to with a lavender ruffle around the neckline. She wears a matching lavender ruffled skirt on the bottom. Her legs are covered by white leggings, and she wears silver flats with ribbons that go around her legs, and are tied up into a bow at her thighs. She acceorizes with feathers mostly. She wears a white feather clip in her hair made from her own feathers. Silver earrings shaped like feathers hang from her ears, and a silver necklace with several small silver feather charms hangs around her neck.

Personality: Odette comes across as being aloof when people first meet her. She is a quiet young woman who doesn't seem to smile very often these days. While she is capable of being polite in conversations, she doesn't speak to others much unless someone engages her first. After being bullied as a child for being "The Ugly Duckling" she's always been a bit reserved. The circumstances of her story made it worse. She often cried and sulked for a long time. While she got a better handle on her grief now, she never truly got over everything that had happened to her. While she tries to carry herself with grace in public, she still has bouts of depression every so often.

While being slow to trust others at first, beneath her quiet exterior, Odette is a very kind and gentle soul. She gives to those less fortunate, and is willing to help someone in need. She is sympathetic to the plights of others, and is sweet to all those who stick around long enough to form a relationship with her. She is loyal and affectionate to those she is close to, and would do anything for them if they needed it.

Due to the bullying she experienced as a child, Odette has a rather low opinion of herself. No matter how much people try to tell her otherwise, she still sees herself as the ugly duckling, and is rather embarrassed when she is given complements. She doesn't believe her story is that popular, and she doesn't believe she is worthy of her title as a queen. Thus, she lives a much more simpler lifestyle than someone in her position could afford. She is much more confident, and less inhibited when she is in her swan form. Even though she didn't like being forced to be one, now that she is able to transform at will, she admits that she found being able to fly rather freeing.

Odette generally keeps how she is feeling to herself. The last time she spoke up, her lover got killed for his trouble. That being said, she does have a hidden violent, angry side that she does her best to keep to herself. She doesn't take kindly to bullies, and evildoers in general. While she might be able to hold her composure briefly, don't be surprised if you later find yourself being attacked by an angry swan if you provoke her.

She sees the migration to the human world as an opportunity for a fresh start, and didn't mind leaving her former kingdom behind to get it. She admits to not being ready to bear the responsibility that ruling a kingdom entails, and especially having to do it alone. She is very interested in this new world, and is hopeful of the possibilities it has for her.

History: Odette was a Princess of a small kingdom in the realm of tales. Her mother died in childbirth, so she never knew her. Despite being a Princess, growing up was not easy for the young girl. Princesses in the land of tales were known for their beauty, and that was something Odette didn't have as a child. Her face was riddled with blemishes, she was awkward and clumsy, and people found her too thin and pale. She was bullied relentlessly by her peers for her looks. She was given the nickname The Ugly Duckling, because of her family name, Swan, as well as her appearance. All of this bullying damaged her self-esteem.

As she grew older. things started to change for the better. Her father put the princess in ballet dance lessons, in order to improve her grace and poise. The girl took the lessons well, and became a skilled ballerina. Gradually, Odette's appearance improved as she grew into herself. The blemishes on her skin disappeared and was now smooth and clear. Because of her dance training, Odette now moved with the grace and poise of a Princess. By the time she was 16, Odette was no longer the Ugly Duckling. People were in awe of Odette's newfound beauty, but she still remembered how badly people treated her when she was the ugly duckling. Although she kept it to herself, she still held some resentment towards her abusers.

One person who took interest in her was a man known as Baron Rothbart. A wealthy man who lived in his own castle near a meadow on the outskirts of the kingdom. It was rumored that Von Rothbart was a sorcerer, but no one had any proof of those claims. He found himself captivated by the young woman, and actively pursued her. Naturally, Odette turned him down each time. She wasn't ready for a romance, and especially with someone so much older than her.

Of course, Von Rothbart refused to take no for an answer. After rejecting him for the umpteenth time, he cast curse on Odette, transforming her into a beautiful white swan, and took her away to his castle. If she wouldn't have him, then she couldn't have anyone else. He believed that in captivity, she would consent to be with him.

For a long time, Odette was kept as Von Rothbart's prisoner. Her curse was such that she would be a swan by day, and a human by night, by the side of an enchanted lake. He called Odette his Swan Queen, and would kidnap other young women, and put similar curses on them to keep his Swan Queen company. They were Odette's sole companions. The girls were ordered to dance for him, as well as do anything else he asked. Odette would come to find out that Von Rothbart had a daughter, named Odile. With the exception of her clothing choices, Odile looked exactly like Odette. Odile was in fact Odette's half-sister. The product of an affair Von Rothbart had with Odette's mother, and the reason why Von Rothbart was so obsessed with her. Odette and her half sister never spoke to each other.

One evening, a handsome young prince from another kingdom nearby, named Siegfried was hunting in the meadow one day, sees Odette in her swan form, and goes after it. As the sun sets, and the swan lands on the lake, the prince is about to shoot the swan, but then something he didn't expect happened. He witnessed the swan transform into a young woman. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen. The prince was staring in awe, crossbow in hand, when Odette discovered him. At first, she is frightened, and attempts to flee. He catches up to her, and assures her that he will do no harm to her.

He asks her who she is, and Odette explains that she is a victim of a spell cast by Von Rothbart, and tells him her story. At first Siegfried wants to kill Von Rothbart, but Odette has to stop him, and explain that she doesn't know what Von Rothbart's death would do to the curse. It may make them swans permanently. She explains that the spell can only be broken if someone who has never loved before, swears to love her forever. Instantly enamored with Odette, Siegfried desires to protect her.

From that moment on, the two lovers met one another for several nights, trying to keep it a secret from Von Rothbart. Of course, the sorcerer did indeed notice that has Swan Queen was nowhere to be found for several nights, and decided to follow her one night to see where she was going. He found her dancing with the prince, and of course he was furious. He overheard the two of them talking about a ball, and at that moment, Von Rothbart concocted a plan.

The night of the ball, Siegfried gets worried when Odette hadn't yet arrived after several hours had gone by. Finally, she does show up, but notices there is something different about her. Odette normally dressed in white gowns, but tonight she was dressed in a black gown. She was also much more foward and flirtatious than she normally was. The prince didn't think too much of it though, believing that she was only excited about being free from the sorcerer's control.

The truth of the matter was that Von Rothbart had put Odette to sleep, and sent his daughter in her place. Odette eventually awoke, and hurried to the castle, only to witness Siegfried promising his eternal love to Odile, and then kissing passionately. The sight of which brings Odette to tears, as she flees the palace.

It was when Von Rothbart appeared at the ball to laugh at the gullible prince, while magically showing Siegfried a vision of Odette crying, and then vanish, did the prince realize his mistake. Siegfried, overwhelmed, flees to the forest in search of his true love, Odette, hoping that wasn't too late to rescue her.

When Von Rothbart returns to his castle, he brings summoned all the swans maidens to the lake. He commanded his Swan Queen to love him and only him. Odette, not exactly in the best of moods at that moment, defiantly told him that her heart still belongs to Prince Siegfried and she demanded that she and the other maidens be released, Von Rothbart was furious upon hearing that, and used his magical powers to unleash a storm, then left in a huff. The swan maidens cling together to protect themselves from the storm. As Siegfried runs frantically through the forest in search of Odette. Eventually, the storm passes, and Siegfried finds Odette. He begs her forgiveness. She forgives him knowing he was unaware of Von Rothbart’s plan, but then she tells him that, having sworn his love for Odile, he can no longer save her. Just as the sun rises, and all the women are transformed into swans.

Angered, Siegfried entered the castle to engage Von Rothbart in a fight. Odette and the swan maidens try to stop him, but by the time they find him, it was too late. The young prince was no match for the sorcerer, and he is defeated and killed.

At this point, something in Odette snapped. Seeing her lover dead made her furious. Von Rothbart had kept her and these other girls prisoner for far too long, and now he went and killed an innocent prince who's only crime was loving her. Odette hissed, and attacked Von Rothbart. She didn't care what happened to her at this point, Von Rothbart had to pay. The other swans joined her, and they viciously attacked their captor. Von Rothbart was quickly overwhelmed by the flock of swans attacking him, and he too was killed. Upon his death, the castle collapsed and the swan maidens were freed from the curse.

When everything was said and done, Odette was horrified with what she did. She felt guilty about killing someone. Even if it was an evil sorcerer who was holding innocent girls captive, killing was not something good people did. The other former swans tried to reassure her, and she went along with them to make them happy, but she still felt guilt over it. After saying good-bye to her fellow captives, Odette returned to her home kingdom. Where she was reunited with her father, who was happy to have his daughter back. Still after everything she went through, Odette was never the same. She became something of a recluse, and was even more aloof than usual.

Odette's father died from ill health shortly before the great migration. Losing his daughter took a toll on his health. Now a queen for real this time, she felt like she wasn't ready for such a major responsibility. So, Odette migrated to the human world with the other tales seeking a fresh start. Even though she is a queen now, and is able to live a luxurious life, she still works a regular job as a waitress at a local diner in Fairy Tale Crossing, and lives in a rather modest apartment. Mainly because she believes she doesn't deserve her title as a queen. All she did was get kidnapped by some evil sorcerer, and kill someone.

Skills and Abilities:

Swan Transformation: After breaking her curse, Odette discovered that she can transform into a beautiful white swan whenever she wants, for however long she wants. She is able to fly in her swan form with the use of her large wings, as well as communicate with animals.

Ballerina: Odette is a skilled ballet dancer. This taught her how to move with grace and poise even when she's not dancing. However, she does not like dancing for others now, and will only do so in private, or for those she really trusts. Being forced to dance for Von Rothbart made her uncomfortable with dancing in front of others. After being cursed, she now has the ability to dance on water.

Items/Trinkets: Odette does not have any special items she brought with her from the Realm of Tales.

Why not both?
Okay, so I completely redid my character. She's based on this story, but naturally, I messed with it a bit (the one I'm used to had a bird in it, so... does it really matter?).

Is that okay?
