Fake MTGs anyone?

Do you believe that Card-Maker programs can still be used with originality?

I have made countless Magic the Gathering cards in my life, and if you want one, don't hesistate to ask. HOWEVER! You must get a picture of the card you want, and describe the effect as it should be, to the point.
Example:
NAME
MANA COST (W=white, U=blue, B=black, R=red, G=Green, number=colorless, X or Y=variable [must be expressed in rules text, or power/toughness])
TYPE-SUBTYPE
RULES TEXT
FLAVOR TEXT
POWER / TOUGHNESS

And now, for a few examples of my handiwork.

Happy requesting!

I was just curious because a long long time ago when I was looking for blanks, I actually found the program months before I found decent blanks on any site or forum..

oh and if your going to use the program you arnt showing any talent (anyone can plug text and a picture into a program) and that makes this thread pointless..

Tbh it's just as original using the program. If you use blanks and an art program instead whats creative about positioning the individual icons in the correct place. It's not as if you can do something unique with it. A card layout is a card layout. The creative part about making a card is to ensure that the idea is good.

I have the program as well Kalkris and since it's just gethering dust on my hard drive atm then I'll help with requests if you want.

Faking Cards is an Artform.. using a computer to do work your work for you, isnt.. its your knowledge about how placement is done correctly and your patients with making it look perfect that makes this as good as it is. FakeCard Programs are for people who just want to make cards. You want to make cards, use the ****in program.. If you want to make artwork thats worth showing other people (and not spamming a forum).. use some real talent and make it using thought and patients.. then show it off so people can appreciate it..

Its like the difference of people being able to do math in there head or using a calculator.. LAZYNESS!!!!!!

Actually, I have made cards in the Editor by taking MY OWN pictures, and using them. I make my own mechanics, rules, flavor text, and types, and I am making my own art. If you want to hear about something surprising, go to the Magic The Gathering website and read up on how THEY make the artwork. They use a program. Sure, they drew it out first (most of the time), but still, I don't make pictures from a program! I normally use my own! ...That is, unless:
1. Someone requests something I cannot take a picture of,
2. My digital Camera is not functioning properly, or
3. some sod screen-named "MAJINX24" is acting up
Call that lazy, huh? Well, have I got news for you! I am not lazy in the least bit! I have a mind of my own! I use a card editor, yes, but I don't give anything about it! So instead of trying to minimod my thread (or any similar ones), go and ask yourself, "Is this guy/gal being creative in his/her cards?" instead of "Is this guy/gal 'cheating' because he/she is using a card maker?". OK?

(P.S.--WotC does use a computer when creating thier cards. Why shouldn't I?)

I am almost completly sure that nintendo use programs for thier cards. IT just saves time. It goves you more time to think of good attacks, be more original ect. And any-one who says otherwise, your entitled to your opinions and have the right to express them just don't try and force them upon us. We will take the same view if we wish to. 9 times out of 10 on forums, arguing on will just cause people to become more devensive of thier views. Seeing as this is Kalkris' thread, and thier is nothing wrong with his view don't argue against him. IT that is what you have come here to do go away. Leave him alone. I argee that it is perfectly ok to use a program to make cards.

Right Majinx24, you're view is valid...to you the positioning of energy symbols/font used is part of the art to you...however to myself it's not. I'm an avid ccg player and to me the important part about creating a card is to make sure the card isn't too over powered or too complicated. The art form is in creating the card realistically. When they make cards they just use a program to put in the stats and the text, whilst commissioning an artist to do the art. Now you value the placing of energy symbols etc. on the card but the only way to do that without having someone ***** at you about it is to put them on following the same layout as every other card. So how does it then make that creative? The creative aspect comes from the art and the card text...not the layout. So just because I make my card in a program using my text and my image doesn't make it less creative than the person who positions everything perfectly and individually. All it means is that I decide not to show my ability to copy the layout.
