Well... this one's a bit weird.

In the 90's Mozilla bought a web directory & named it DMOZ. The directory was edited by volunteers, who called Mozilla's old mascot Mozzie.

Mozzie was a lizard, but when AOL shut down the directory about two years ago, the editors moved it to a new domain, with a squirl mascot named Curlie.

Moxxie was a typo, but I thought it sounded cute. It means spunk, fortitude, courage, etc.

Hmmmm.... Don't know much about squirrels. I even have trouble spelling it!

How about:

Temminck - After the biologist who described the Japanese squirrel.
Slis- After a contraction of the species scientific name.

someone else on pokecommunity, named ' UnloosedPuma75 ' gave me a suggestion for it....

the name is ' Chippent '

i've grown to like it.... but they didn't give me the meaning of the name....

I think Chippent is a good name; probably is a variant on chipmunk.

Andible - Mandible without the "M," because they're small.

Stingan - Sting + Ant

Sward - Sword, with "A" for ant.

rock/normal - Petra - I think it means rock. It was a desert city; they used a shot of the city in Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade for the location of the Holy Grail. The city has been romanticized as "the rose red city, twice as old as time," and the character is kinda sandy red, at least as red as the city.

Variations: Petdod - Petra + Dog
Petdo - Petra +Dog
Petfo - Petra + Fox
Petfox - Petra + Fox

I think all of those sound a bit too much like Pet Animal tho. Maybe:

Petradod - Petra + Dog
Petrado - Petra +Dog
Petrafo - Petra + Fox
Petrafox - Petra + Fox

Petrado could sound too much like Petradon; perhaps Petrahdo, to give it a moer distinch "ah" sound instead of an "uh" sound.

Apparently the city of Petra was also known as Raqēmō.

Using that...

Rockydo, Rocydo, Rokydo, Rockdo, Rocdo, Rokdo = Rock + Dog
