I can only guess on when, or *if* I ever become a fanfic writer, & I doubt I could pull something like this off, so here goes:

c) What if TRio's Meowth had a different helping hand in his younger years? Specifically, during his time of learning to walk & talk like humans do. Just before he would meet up with the Persian/Meowth gang that helped him, a young girl spots him being chased out of the food stand (who is not with the group there, she could be walking to it), & decides to help him out? They spark a friendship & she keeps him as a pet, intending to make him her starting Pokemon once she's old enough. Soon afterwards, he spots Meowsie, the same ordeal occurs, (only difference is that the girl carries him across the street instead) & she thinks that while becoming human-like won't work, she still enjoys & finds the idea sweet, & goes along with it. Flash foward two years later, when she's waited an extra six months for him to both complete his dream, & to come out of his depression from Meowsie calling him a freak for his new abilities. She starts her Pokemon journey with him through the Kanto region, becoming Gary's rival because he wants Meowth (she refuses to trade him fiercely), & because she barely knows much more about Pokemon than Ash during his Kanto days, despite the duo being faster at catching Pokemon than him. (between making friends with them (partially through Meowth's help), & the cat's various attacks he'll learn throughout the journey)
Note: Meowth still cannot learn payday, Team Rocket now has an Eevee that would eventually evolve into an Umbreon during the Johto saga. Also, these two will easily want Meowth due to his unquie ability to speak human, & translate pokemon speech. I would like for this to be set in Kanto times, where one only knows about 149 types of Pokemon (Mewtwo having not been created just yet), & Ash & friends are also travelling during the same time as Meowth & his trainer. Her appearence is here, & I think a good name would be Julie, or Jamie.

not wish for Meowth to evolve. Professor Oak could give them an Everstone near the timeframe when Misty gets Togepi, or during the training months before the Pokemon League, at which time he'd be about ready to evolve, & not want to anymore than his trainer wants him to. The reasons for them would be that he doesn't want to change his form, & she thinks he's too cute/far too used to him being in that form. They've been the same for too long to change then.
She however, starts out in a poor-ish type family, (not *bad* per say, just could only afford one pet & one child, that sort of thing) which helps explain the outfit change, once they get ahead enough (say, badge 3 or 4, possibly a good bunny plot for Celadon City).

Specifically: they are walking the streets to her house, & duck behind a building just after the limo pulls up for the scene to unfold in front of them.
