Fan Sprite Rules

Welcome to the Fan Sprite section!

This section of the forum is a place where pixel-artists can grow and share art. To make this go smoothly there are some rules to follow.
Please read them, this takes like 5 minutes and it will make this place much nicer for everyone.

1) General forum rules
The fan sprite section is a part of the Serebii's Pokémon Palace Forums (SPPf) so general rules should be followed (click here to read them).

Furthermore, this is also part of the fan art section. I strongly recommend you to go over them since them contain the most important rules (click here to read).

2) Fan sprite specific rules

The SPPf general rules and the fan art rules already cover the most rules you have to know.
Below you can find a few rules that are specific for the Fan Sprite section and/or exceptions to previous rules.

General Posting

- In this section there is an expetion to the SPPf rule about double posting. Here double posting is permitted IF you wait at least 12 hours and if it is to update the thread with new sprites.
- Please do not request art here. To do this, we have the art shop section.
- For new member: you need at least 10 posts to post an image. This is to prevent spam but is really unhandy for this section of the forums. If you want to post a sprite but you don't have 10 posts yet, you can Pm me the image and I'll put it in the place you want it to be.

Making a thead displaying your sprites

- You can make only ONE thread to display your work.
- You must have at least 3 sprites to start with
- When displaying your sprites, don't give a link but actually display images. This can be done by using [img*][/img] (remove star)

Crediting/stealing sprites

- Official sprites that occur in the Pokémon games are free to use, and don't need crediting.
- Sprites made by other artist should be used with permission and should be credited properly:
a) Permission: you must ask permission from the artist to use his/her artwork. If the artist doesn't allow you to use his/her artwork, then don't use it.
* You must be able to show that you have gained permission upon request of a moderator
* Some artist note that their art is free to use. Then asking permission it not necessary.
b) Credits: after receiving permission, you can use the artwork of another to make own sprites. When posting them on this forum, you must also give credit!
* Crediting can be done simply by putting: "Credits go to [maker] for [artwork you used from him/her]"
* This also is the case when entering a contest on this forum
* Credits shouldn't be given only when the artist clearly states that you can use his/her artwork freely and don't have to give credits.

So that was it. Thank you for taking 5 minutes from your time to read this.
Have fun spriting!
