Fanart Banners

Hello again, here I am today with a request.

I am asking that all banners that people make be moved to one thread for solely banners.

I do not mean to offend people, but the banners are really crowding up the art forum. I'm merely suggesting that we have a sticky that's just for banners.

I just think the banner threads are really clogging up the forum. Where people could have easy access to the newest banner someone created in that thread and not have it get bumped down.

That seems unfair to have one thread for everyone's banners to be put in. A lot of them wouldn't get rated if they had to compete with a ton of others in the same thread.

and what's the problem with that? Its also swamped with anime things etc.

If you want that, we might as well move all the fan art to one thread, too -- clear up the clutter, y'know. [/sarcasm]

However, it wouldn't be too bad if there was a seperate forum (alongside Fan Art Requests, Fan Sprites, and Fan Comics) for graphic art, including banners, wallpapers, etc. =/

That isn't a bad idea, but I always hate competing with banner threads to get my art seen.

There's like a zillion of them a week and I'm growing a bit weary always getting my stuff knocked down too quickly because of them.

Well, how would you feel if all CG art (or any other kind of art you do) had to be moved into one thread? Just because there's a lot of banner threads doesn't mean they should all have to be squished into one sticky. However, a seperate forum for banners wouldn't be a bad idea.

You could always place a link in your signature to your newest art. Even includ a thumbnail of it in your signature to give people a preview. There are many ways to get people to see your art. You just need to think a bit more.

That's because more people make banners than post other art, so there's bound to be more banner threads. I'd understand if people were making a thread for every single banner, but it's unfair that just because banners are the most popular, you think they should have to all be smooshed into one sticky.

Well, what about making separate subforums for the different forms of art? then people can go where they like for banners and anime stuff.

This site is becoming way too big to merely house one main posting forum for art and have everybody look at everyone's signatures for new stuff. People like stuff that's right in front of them and that's what they are most likely going to look at.

I think banners should have a subforum like Sprites do. :/ Too many of them goin' around, it's pushing back some good art threads too.

Bad idea. I would hate if I had to put all my sprites in the same thread as everyone else. But a great idea would be a Fan Banners forum; after all we have one for sprites. That would solve everything and it's easy to do. There could even be a Fan Banner Requests type forum to be even more organized.

Nah, requests aren't so much of a problem. People will always look beyond the first page there if they can't find a shop that does what they want.

Banners class as someone's work. If you are going to force anyone making banners to all post in one topic, then you should have a topic for any other subject people choose to make use of.

If however, you are looking to showcase artowrk that you've made digitally (such as through photoshop), then you can use the new Digital media forum (where Multimedia once was). It's for showcasing only, and not requsts, but you can always try that.

While I think putting all banner topics in just one is plain crazy and confusing. I vote for a Banner sub-forum, just like sprites has. It was bad enough that people's fan art had to be pushed down faster then a bullet thanks for banner topics. So, this is the smart way to go.
