- Toxic Ball - Higher catch rate on Poison types. Can also be used in marshes (because of the noxious gases).
- Spooky Ball - Higher catch rate on Ghost types. Can also be used in graveyards and other 'haunted' buildings and places, e.g. the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town, the Strange House in Unova or the abandoned Thrifty Megamart in Alola.
- Draco Ball - Higher catch rate on Dragon types, or Pokémon with draconic features or appearances.
- Darkness Ball - Higher catch rate on Dark types. Also works similarly to the Dusk Ball in that it can be used in 'dark' places, like caves, or at night.
- Magic Ball - Higher catch rate on Fairy types.
- Mystic Ball - Higher catch rate on Psychic types.
- Melee Ball - Higher catch rate on Fighting types. If caught, the Pokémon receives a big boost to its Attack stat.
- Metal Ball - Higher catch rate on Steel types. Can also be used at steel mills, construction sites, and inside mines.
- Stone Ball - Higher catch rate on Rock types. Can also be used in 'rocky' places such as mines or quarries.
- Earth Ball - Higher catch rate on Ground types. Can also be used wherever there is sand, like caves, deserts or beaches.
- Aero Ball - Higher catch rate on Flying types, or Pokémon with wings or a similar contraption. Can also be used in the sky.
- Plain Ball - Higher catch rate on Normal types.
