Fastest Way to Purify?

Ok so now I'm trying to purify everything now that I've beat Greevil. So now while some of my pokes are in the purify chamber would it be fastest to -
Battle with them
Walk with them
or use the scents on them.

Also, while your Pokes are in the purify chamber are they just being purified automatically as time goes on or is it for each step I take or how many battles I do etc. etc? Like say if I just left the Gamecube on overnight and woke up would they all be purified?

If their weak pokemon use battleing,scents or day care
If their strong pokemon use daycare and battleing (maybe scents I don't never tried that

I say put them in chamber with all places to purify at max tempo it should take 15-20 min that way
