Fat People

Hmmm... where to start....

Well... There's nothing wrong with someone being plus sized. Ever. They're just like us. Only large(r).

It's in how one acts and looks that REALLY determines how they'll be treated...

At my old job there was a woman who was plus sized, but she dressed beautifully, she always smelled nice and looked like a million bucks. She was neat, nice and well organized. There was also another "fit woman" who would wear... rather revealing clothes... But she was dirty, sloppy, messy, and she smelled bad... o_<

Obviously diet and exercise are important... But if someone does all those things and they're STILL not thin.... it's really OK. (Yes. It is.)

I myself am obese, and I would get ragged on all the time for being "fat".
"Then suck it up or do something about it."

Believe me, I am. It's hard, though. It's so much easier to give up... but isn't that how it is for anything? Pushing forward is so much harder. But I'm not gonna give up...

Anyway... I'm nice to both fat people and skinny people. If someone wants to be rude to me... then I see it as THEIR loss, not mine.

Okay, those were my two cents

Instead of blaming people for being fat, blame the idiots who keep selling 90% junk food. If it wasn't available as readily, then it wouldn't be as tempting for those who can't control how much they eat.

No, absolutely not. It is not the fault of these food companies that people are too weak willed to not stuff their face with crap. The real idiots are the consumers.

I could really go for a home made macaroni and cheese. Haven't had one in years. T_T

Completely agree, resist the urge.

It really just comes down to what's important to you. Do you want to look good, or eat delicious food constantly.

Yes. Blame these people for trying to make money.

Had to.

Stereotypes when it comes to Overweight/Obese people are a major problem.
When people think of Overweight/Obese people they think -
1) They don't exercise enough
2) They eat too much
3) They eat too many carbs/calories/fat/etc.

There are medical conditions out there that can directly cause Obese problems. There are people who eat/exercise the way they should, yet weight cannot be controlled. This is why this is a stereotype.

There are cases like G50 mentioned, due to medical reasons. Which fair enough, i admit that these people try to lose weight. They eat right, they exercise. They do everything right, but they are cursed by medical reasons.

Everyone else, well they are fat and lazy and i don't symphasise with them at all. Yes, some people are more prone to put more weight on than others. Some people can eat more than others without putting a pound on. But at the end of the day, if you are obese not because of a problem with your body (medical reasons), then i'm sorry. You are fat because of choice, and there is something that can be done.

What is it now, obesity is a medical condition and being obese can allow you to claim disability benefits. That isn't right in my eyes, obesity isn't medical at all.

Fat people, that's a shot right there...

I prefer the term Obese or Overweight or Fluffy
Body builders are over weight and obese (or at least by their BMI). I had a Cpl in the Marines, He was a competitor (placed 3rd) in a Mr Australia bodybuilder competition when he was stationed there. He was 5'8 270(ish) lbs. Our CO had him charged with being unfit. When the Corpsmen tested his % of body fat he was found to have 2% body fat. Morbidly obese and placed in a body builder competition!

Fat is fat, Obese is not always fat! Fluffy.. is a cute puppy with short fur (cause I like oxymoronic names for my dogs!)

That is usually true Chaos but not always. I know a few delicious meals that are very healthy.

I was just on DeviantArt and I saw a thread bashing fat people.

This is ironic considering how many deviantarts relish in their efforts to draw well known game/cartoon characters as morbidly obese.

I myself am sporting an UNSIGHTLY beer belly, but outside of a few considerably small people (Maybe it's because they feel intimidated by the size difference, as I'm about 6'1 and fairly broad without the belly) and banter from mates it's never really caused me any grief from others. DeviantArt is full of outcasts and socially inept people so I can only assume that they rag on my fellow fatties because of their own insecurities.

Both of these represent two extremes.

Why can't it be both?

That because his muscle weigh more than his fat. Also, only 2% body fat?! Goddamn! I thought the lowest was 8%.

I think the problem people have with obese people is that its a bad representation of American society.

I personally don't have a problem WITH obese people. I eat a lot of junk and my mid-level metabolism helps me out a lot. I just think when it comes to society we need to be cautious of our eating habits, so that our tomorrow is a better tomorrow. If we become a nation of unhealthy, incapable citizens, then it will affect our economy and civilization as a whole immensely.

Summary: Take care of your body so you can take care of your family and loved ones and set a standard for society.

Although YOU should be the one pushing yourselves, and maybe constructive criticism from other people, but destructive criticism doesn't do anything but... well... destroy.

Cop out. It can be controlled.

Cushing's and Hypothyroidism are rare.

If you want to be fat that's fine, but don't make excuses.

Which is my point. Obese just mean: 'really over the suggested weight by medical practitioners'. Well My IDEAL weight leaves me looking skeletal.

Yeah... I know. the guy put a fully assembled 50 cal MG on his shoulder and carried it for a bit over a mile. (FYI that's roughly 127lbs)! He was a monster!
