Fatal Roses

The Burnt Shadow

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
Okay, over the past several times I've tried to do basic fics such as going with normal journeys and twisting them out in the end, but I wasn't doing so well with those kinds. So I'm doing the kinds I'm more comfortable with. A fic with no badge chasing, pokedex upgrading and catch 'em all things like that. This fic doesn't include much bloodbaths in it so it's not a total brutalic story. Well here goes something, enjoy...

Fatal Roses

Chapter 1
------------
Welcome to Region Xega
------------

It was a beautiful night in the region of Kanto; stars twinkled like crystals while a gentle breeze whistled across the land. It started in the lonely night beach of Vermillion. The dark sparkling ocean gently washed on the sandy shore and rocks while the whole beach was quiet and empty. All that was in the beach were starfish shells and a boy named Alexander De Torres.

Alexander is a quiet nineteen year old boy. His hair was colored silver white and his eyes were stone grey. He wore a dead rose red coat, black pants and a sleeveless black shirt. He used to be a champion trainer in the pokemon league, but was automatically revoked from his title since he overdid battles. He was banned from gym battles, tournaments, competitions and battles. He was only allowed to battle if a trainer was willing to try and defeat him. Almost all his pokemon but his beginner was confiscated from him. He was never able to control his battling skills and might sometimes hurt more than the trainer and their pokemon. Alex inconsiderately sends trainers and at times people in the audience to hospitals.

Alex held his face with despair for realizing his mistake very late. He lay back on the sand and glared at the stars, wishing and begging to be back into the world he used to reign supreme. He prayed for any kind of miracle to just hit him that would help him back on his feet. His answer came to him in a roaring sound. Alex immediately sat up to see what was going on. His eyes widened like an owl’s when he saw the water just move uncontrollably for no reason. Soon the waves launched everywhere while the sky remained beautiful and calm. He began to crawl back when he saw a giant wave rise up to the size of a great tower. Alex stood up and was rooted to the ground when he saw how high the wave reached. Unable to move, he just stared in a state of shock and was soon engulfed by the raging ocean. As soon as the ocean dragged him into the deep, the ocean went quiet and calm once more.

In the ocean, Alex tried to swim up for his life. He was running out of breath quickly. Strangely there was a certain force that dragged him deep into the ocean. He looked down and just saw the black deep, there wasn’t anything dragging him down, there weren’t even any pokemon or normal aquatic creatures swimming around. He took one final gaze up into the surface then slowly blacked out as he opened his mouth releasing large bubbles of air. After a few hours, Alex woke up in a fright. He was still under water and he was breathing under water. He thought to himself what manner of power is doing this. He began to swim upwards, but he soon realized that he was trapped within a great bubble providing an efficient amount of oxygen. He was about to poke the bubble, but before his finger could even touch the thin layer, a great scowling howl motioned in the ocean.

Looking ahead, two glowing neon blue eyes appeared from the black water. Alex was unable to recognize the beast since its shape was hidden in the shadows of the water. Soon the shape formed while glowing red symbols appeared all over the body. Alex gasped with shock when he saw the pokemon that approached him with grace. The legendary sea basin pokemon Kyogre had appeared in front of him. Kyogre is known as the mightiest water pokemon that lived in the world. Its body was spectacularly huge, greater than the largest man mad ship. It had unusual lines of red markings all over its body. Its eyes were colored yellow and were a bit sinister looking. It had two great fins, an unusual large flipper and a white chest. Alex began to search his pockets for his pokedex. Finally Alex pulled out his pokedex and pointed it directly towards Kyogre.

“Kyogre the Sea Basin pokemon,” the pokedex beeped,” This magnificent legendary has been known to wander the oceans of the world, bringing rain to lands filled serious droughts. This pokemon was known to be in a titanic battle against the continent pokemon Groudon.”

Kyogre slowly and stopped right in front of Alex’s bubble, looking directly at his eyes. Alex was hesitant to see a very powerful, rare and dangerous pokemon. This was an event that no one, even a person who dislikes pokemon, would ever forget. Alex slowly walked up and placed his hand on the transparent and elastic wall of the bubble. Kyogre then gave out a mighty bellow, intimidating Alex back.

“Alexander De Torres,” Kyogre bellowed,” You have been chosen as a warrior of mine. The world will soon face a difficult challenge that I cannot allow. I have chosen you, because you have a great untapped power that could save the world from this stream of difficulty. My nemesis Groudon is conspiring up a plan to make this happen. I don’t know what it is, but now you must stop whatever the cost. I have heard your prayers to return to your world of battles. I shall now answer your wish by giving you this important task. The task shall be difficult, but I know that deep down, you have the heart and strength to succeed. Now I shall send you off with a small token to help you. I bid you farewell.”

Alex was about to ask something, but all of a sudden, he felt a kind of surging pain from within him. A great blue light shined from within him. An unusual neon blue marking formed right on his arm, weakening his body. He fell down to his knees with his eyes closed as gritting his teeth, trying to resist the pain. Kyogre just glared right at Alex as it slowly disappeared back into the shadows of the ocean. Alex soon opened his eyes and instantly sat up. He found that he was in the beach; it looked like it was all just a dream. It was morning and the ocean was as calm as ever and by the looks of things, it was all a dream. He stood up and stretched his arms. While raising his arms up high, he saw a kind of blue scratch on his arm. Curiously, he slowly pulled down the sleeve of his coat and saw that his arm had the unusual mark, but it wasn’t glowing.

“If this is the mark I think it is what do I do now?” Alex thought deeply.

Alex stood up and faced Vermillion, but to his surprise he the area didn’t look anything like Vermillion city. As a matter of fact it didn’t look anything like Kanto, Johto or Hoenn. Instead of a city a beautiful park like garden stood in the area. The plants bloomed radiantly, the temperature was just right and the sky was as clear as day. He reached out his pokesat from his pocket to see his location. The pokesat is a more advanced version of the pokenav, it gave a 3D image of the map, and it could link with other pokesats like a pokenav and can also give the location of the one they’re looking for. The device just confirmed unknown location. He decided to look around and saw a sign saying the Garden of Verve City. This was truly unusual, he has never heard of Verve city nor has he heard rumors about it existing. Alex thought for a while and guessed that Kyogre must’ve spat him into a different region from the original ones he knew about.

He looked within the city and saw several people playing happily with several pokemon. Most of the pokemon were basic pokemon like Oddish or Pidgey. As a matter of fact you can’t actually see a lot of evolved or hostile pokemon.

“May I help you?” a girl about two years younger than him asked. The girl was a bit shorter than her; she had short pink hair, grassy green eyes and a fair skin. She wore a red sleeveless dress and matching red boots. As an accessory she wore a red headband and a golden bracelet around her right wrist.

“Uh yes,” Alex said,” I’m not really from around here. I’m kind of lost so; do you know where I am?”

“Of course,” the girl lightly chuckled in a cute way,” My name is Rose what’s yours?”

“Um Alex,” Alex answered,” Alexander De Torres.”

“Well Alex welcome to the Garden of Verve City,” Rose said,” Verve City is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the region of Xega. It’s filled with lush gardens, a friendly environment, and hardly any pollution and contains about sixty five percent of Xega’s vegetable and fruit supply. We take care of both our environment and ourselves. Our technology isn’t advanced as cities like Mechtropolis but we are definitely advanced in technology to improve the environment. Verve city is also a good place to find several basic pokemon like Bulbasaur. You’ll find a few of the hundred and twenty species of pokemon here in Verve City.”

Alex’s eyes widened with shock when he heard what Rose said. There were only hundred and twenty species of pokemon in Xega. Apparently the region of Xega haven’t heard of the recent pokemon discovers lately, Alex remembered reading an article that there were about three hundred and plus kinds of pokemon and there were several others being discovered. This was really puzzling, how could this region have not heard of any of the other hundreds of species of pokemon. Alex’s small questions were answered, but now he had even more questions that needed answering. He was about to ask Rose if they even heard about the regions of Johto, Hoenn and Kanto. But before he was even able to speak, a motor noise buzzed in the area.

Alex turned about-face and saw a cloud of smoke from the distance. By the looks of it there were three figures riding on motorcycles on their way to the garden. Without warning they rammed into the garden, ruining patches of flowers and scaring off people and pokemon away. Rose stepped in front of Alex glaring angrily at the motorcycle gang. The unruly bikers instantly stop in front of Rose pushing aside a cloud of dust on their faces. Alex coughed a bit, but Rose stood strong and barely intimidated. The leader got off his motorcycle and walked up to Rose. They all wore the same leather black jacket, soldier pants and army boots. The leader removed his helmet, he looked about the age of twenty, he had short dark blue hair, an eye patch on his left eye and has one eye colored black. His other two bikers stayed on their bikes, waiting for their leader to come back.

“Roy I thought we banned you from the garden?” Rose asked angrily.

“The name’s not Roy anymore,” he answered in a frustrated tone,” It’s Rex now and yes you banned me and my pals from this girly garden. But that doesn’t mean when would just enter. We own this town, so we can do anything we want here. We don’t listen to anyone, especially not from a loser freak like you!”

“Well Roy if that’s all I request you leave,” Rose said crossing her arms.

“How many times do I have to tell you?! It’s Roy!” Rex shouted,” And no I’m not here to just tell you that I’m mad. We’re here to rip your garden apart to teach you a lesson to never mess with me.”

“You’re not going to mess this garden without messing with me first,” Rose snarled as she grabbed a poke ball.

“Ooh little Red Riding Dress wants to play with the big boys huh?” Rex mocked,” Well let’s see how well your puny pokemon can stand up to me.”

The two stared at each other intensely. Soon they threw their poke balls at the same time. Both spheres launched out and struck each other both sending out their pokemon. On Rose’s side a Vileplume emerged. Vileplume is a flower pokemon with big round red petals on its head, it didn’t have a body, it was more like a huge dark blue head with ting arms and legs on it. On Rex’s side a Doduo emerged. Doduo is a twin headed bird. It has a small round brown feathered body, two heads with both long necks, tall ostrich legs and no wings. Doduo cawed angrily at Vileplume. Vileplume began to moan in fear because of Doduo’s intimidating scowls.

“Your Vileplume doesn’t look that tough,” Rex chuckled,” Doduo let’s do a little flower arranging to the Vileplume with a peck attack!”

“Don’t judge Vileplume by its looks,” Rose growled,” Vileplume stun spore now!”

As Doduo charged recklessly, Vileplume lowered its head and released a stream of sparkling golden spores from its cannon like petal. Doduo should’ve been paralyzed, but it instantly dodged into the air. Vileplume helplessly looked up as Doduo descended from the sky and began to peck Vileplume’s head over and over again. Vileplume was unable to do anything but groan and cover its face in pain.

“Vileplume attack Doduo with petal dance!” Rose ordered.

Vileplume leapt back from Doduo’s beaks and began to spin in a circular motion. Soon a kind of tornado formed out of Vileplume’s head as a blast of sparkling pink petals spun around with the wind. Doduo cawed in panic and began to run away. The twin headed bird was unable to escape and was soon engulfed in the vortex of wind and petals. Doduo wasn’t getting seriously damaged by the wind and petals. As the wind and petals dispersed, Vileplume was caught out of guard. The petal dance was such a powerful attack that it placed the flower pokemon in a state of confusion and dizziness. Doduo slowly got up and began to caw angrily at Vileplume several times.

“I’ve been waiting for a long time to see this in a battle,” Rex smirked.

Doduo stood up straight on its legs, continuing to caw angrily. Doduo began to release a shining glow of silver light from its body, as it grew bigger. It had evolved into a Dodrio. Dodrio is a triple headed bird, with long black feathers as a tail and two black feathers on each of its heads. Each of Dodrio’s heads symbolizes one expression. Happiness, anger and sorrow, but for now all three heads looked pretty angry. Dodrio separated its head and began to form a kind of colorful sphere of energy in their beaks. Finally Vileplume got conscious and looked directly at Dodrio. The poor pokemon rubbed its eyes, thinking that it was still in a daze. Vileplume didn’t notice the evolution take place, so it got shocked to see three heads instead of one.

A thin line formed between the spheres of energy making a triangular prism of rainbow colored energy. Vileplume took a few steps back, slowly perspiring at these new pokemon. Soon a powerful triangular beam of lightning, ice and flames erupted from the triangle, right at Vileplume. The little flower once again stood still, shrieking with fear as a blast of light erupted, blinding several things from within the area. Rose covered her face, unable to see what had happened. As the light faded, Vileplume was standing the same position as it was, the attack missed. Rose sighed with relief, but Vileplume was in a total state of shock, that it fell over and fainted. It wasn’t even hurt from the beam. Rose ran up to Vileplume to see if it was okay.

“Looks like we get to tear up your garden after all,” Rex said,” Okay guys time to trash this place, but first Dodrio why don’t you start with the one who reported me!”

Dodrio nodded as it struck its three beaks towards Rose, but luckily Alex came in the way and held his arm for defense. He got three scratches on his arm revealing a small bit of his mark. Luckily he wasn’t bleeding.

“Okay you had your fun with her,” Alex said;” Now you have to deal with me.”

“You have no idea who you’re messing with kid,” Rex said,” But I could use a bit more entertainment. Dodrio get ready for another round.”

Alex just wiped his lip and grabbed his only poke ball. Nobody was able to notice it, but as he held his poke ball, his mark began to glow the neon blue color. He threw the ball out and released his only pokemon. Dodrio kept a mad and prepared look, but as the pokemon revealed itself, the triple headed bird got shocked and a bit intimidated. A great Sneviper had been unleashed into the garden. By the looks of things Sneviper would be considered a new species of pokemon for the inhabitants of the Xega region. Sneviper is a great deadly snake pokemon; it has a massive black scaled body with portions of yellow. It has a purple tail shaped a bit like a blade and has large bloody red fangs. The Sneviper held its head at Dodrio hissing with delight. To Sneviper’s eyes Dodrio would make an excellent meal for it. Dodrio was getting a bit frightened when it saw its eyes glaring right at it with its tongue and mouth drooling with a large amount of saliva. Even Rex was a bit astonished since he has never seen a Sneviper before. As a matter of face everybody was amazed to see this pokemon, especially a certain biker of Rex’s.

“You’ve never seen Sneviper before have you?” Alex asked,” Well Sneviper it’s feeding time.”

“Even though I have no idea what the hell that is I’m still gonna beat it,” Rex stammered,” Dodrio blast out another tri attack!”

Dodrio formed once more the triangular prism beam on Sneviper. Sneviper just rattled its tail and hissed as it slowly slithered forward. The three headed bird finally unleashed the powerful blast at Sneviper. It looked as if the snake was going to get struck away, but Sneviper instantly began slithering swiftly sideways, dodging the beam. Sneviper got as close as it can to Dodrio and instantly spat out a large burning blast of acid at Dodrio. The triple headed bird was soon engulfed by the attack, but as the acid melted away, its body remained unscarred, like it was resistant to the poison. But Dodrio’s three heads began to change their expression from angry to painfully sad. Dodrio sat down in pain groaning, it was terribly poisoned.

“Dodrio use aero blast!” Rex ordered.

Dodrio weakly gathered all its strength and delivered a powerful blast of wind from their beaks at Sneviper. But the snake pokemon just held its head back and unleashed a powerful blaze of flames at the aerial blast. The wind instantly dispersed allowing the flames to scorch Dodrio’s feathers. As the crimson flames died down, Dodrio was sitting at the same position filled with horrible burns. It slowly lifted one of its head up cawing and finally fell down, fainted. Rex was shocked he lost, so was Alex. He was kind of hoping for a much more extreme and challenging battle. Sneviper slithered up towards Dodrio to take a bite, but Rex instantly recalled his Dodrio and returned to his bike. He didn’t say anything to Alex; he just replied with a snarl and drove off with his other two bikers. Rose walked up to Alex and Sneviper with Vileplume in her arms.

“You’re pretty good,” Rose said as she looked down to Sneviper. She was a bit hesitant but slowly rubbed its head. Sneviper felt it comfortable as Rose continued to pat it,” I’ve never seen this pokemon before. Where do you come from?”

“Well I come from this region called Kanto,” Alex stopped.

“You’re not from Xega?” Rose asked with astonishment…

Meanwhile in an abandoned dock not far from Verve City, Rex had just returned from the garden. He was snarling and cursing a lot. He was so frustrated that he threw his motorcycle onto a wooden table.

“I can’t believe that little twerp,” Rex snarled as he threw his helmet into a few fragile bottles,” How could he have defeated me so easily like that?! I mean who does he think he is and what kind of freakish pokemon was that? Why am I even asking all these questions? No matter I’ll get back at him. Rocker, Samantha get over here!”

Soon one of his bikers still with his helmet on approached. Rex turned around and saw Samantha wasn’t there. He was getting really frustrated now that he screamed her name several times. Then without warning, the doors of the abandoned building exploded, several officers came in with guns and grabbing onto Rex. They then grabbed Rocker, their motorcycles, pokemon and any of their belongings. Officer Jenny approached Rocker and Rex who were being restrained by several police men. Like all the other Officer Jennies she didn’t look different. She still wore the same blue uniform, the same aqua blue hair and the same kind of spiky like hair style.

“Rocker and Rex you are here by under arrest for several disturbances to the peace of Verve City,” Officer Jenny announced.

“You might have us,” Rex snarled as he struggled to get free,” But Samantha is still there and she’ll get us out of here.”

“Yeah right,” Officer Jenny remarked,” Who do you think gave us your location in the first place?”

Soon Samantha appeared next to Officer Jenny. Samantha was the same age as Alex. She has a brown pony tail and onyx colored eyes. She wore a blue jacket, a sleeveless white shirt, normal jeans and black gloves. Rex was unable to believe it, one of his own bikers turned against him and worst of all he trusted her the most. Rex gritted his teeth angrily and began to spit out several intimidating threats and curses to her. But Samantha just gave a blank stare as she walked away from the dock, leaving her friends to be arrested.

Chapter 2
-------------
Knowing power
-------------

In the Chromo Tower, soldiers of the city of Shinato were just defeated. The soldiers lay dead on the floor while the only defense of pokemon were being collected and chained to keep. A figure walked into the blood scene, giving several revolting expressions towards the dead bodies. The figure wore a silver dragon mask, a black robe and his hands were sharp cyborg like claws. He walked into the tower noticing several furniture and other designs slightly destroyed or burnt. The fireplace still was burning with great crimson flames. Powering the flames with energy were pieces of wood, coal, paper and bones. The figure walked up to the fire place and tore off a kind of label on his metal arm and threw it into the flames.

Soon he was greeted by two menacing figures. One was a female wearing a buttoned up onyx colored coat, a grey mask on her mouth and black boots. Her eyes were colored silver grey while her black hair was tied into a pony tail. Her skin complexion looked almost lifeless and dull. Despite all these strange features like her skin color she was a bit attractive. She was known only as Miasma the Grey.

The other figure was a bit taller than her and he looked a bit less threatening than Miasma. He wore a formal white coat, white pants and a purple polo inside. His face kept a menacing happy expression, his eyes were friendly blue, his hair was colored golden blond and he also held a white mask in his palm with one single red eye. He wasn’t given a title or a threatening name; he was simply called Timothy or just Tim.

“Lord Draco we have wiped every single guard that hid or fought against us in this tower and all their bodies are being dumped into the river,” Miasma reported,” As I speak all pokemon that were being used here are now being sent back to Shinato.”

“I didn’t ask you to kill all of the guards,” Draco said glaring at the fire,” But nevertheless, Chromo Tower is ours.”

“I don’t want to shroud your grim happiness Lord Draco but why do we need the Chromo Tower?” Tim asked,” It’s a busted old tower that was only used for guarding. There’s nothing really special about this weak tower, but tourism.”

“I know my dear Timothy,” Draco answered,” Not even the builders knew about the secrets this tower held. But for several years of planning and looking at different sets of maps, this tower holds more than just tourism. I didn’t capture this tower for a base you know. Now go out and make sure no one bugs me. It’s a bit peaceful and I don’t want to be disturbed.”

The two nodded and went off to the march around the several balconies of the tower. Draco continued to watch the flames glitter and spark. He then looked above the fireplace and saw a painting of both Groudon and Kyogre. Draco clenched his fingers angrily and ripped the painting into the fire. Draco panted for a while, but soon his pant turned to a weak chuckle.

Meanwhile not so far away Rose was taking Alex to one of her favorite places in Xega, the Chromo Tower. For some reason she adored the architecture, landscape and the plants that bloomed around the tower. She and Alex rode on her Tropius. Tropius is a grass and flying type pokemon with a brown body, a long neck, and four green plant wings around its neck and something that looked a bit like bananas hanging on the side of its head. They were getting closer and closer to tower, not knowing what was waiting for them.

“So Alex tell me about where you come from,” Rose said,” Xega wasn’t able to communicate with the other regions for a long time. It’s been so long that people have nearly forgotten there were other regions.”

“Well basically I come from the city of Foretree,” Alex said,” Even though I spent mot of my time in Kanto, I still remember Foretree. It was so beautiful, the trees grew healthy and tall, the flowers blossom so many different colors and the environment was amazing. Come to think of it, Verve slightly reminds me of home. Anyways so you’re taking me to this tower?”

“Not just any tower,” Rose said excited,” It has such a nice architecture, has some of the rarest flowers and berries; it’s such a nice place to relax at times. I go there whenever I want to relax and get away from big buildings. The garden of Verve is nice, but I’d prefer the Chromo Tower.”

“Is that it?” Alex pointed. Rose saw the Chromo Tower not far away.

“Yeah,” she answered,” but it looks weird. There would normally be guards marching in the area. It’s like they’ve all left.”

Tropius slowly landed on an empty balcony, it was a bit too quiet, which disturbed Rose a bit. When Rose usually came, she would often hear several guards sing in a drunken tone or come right at her thinking she’s a trespasser. Alex also felt a bit weird since it was also quiet. Normally if it was quiet, it meant something was wrong and something bad would usually just jump right out of nowhere. The whole tower looked like nobody has inhabited it for years. There were a few vines and plants sprouting out of the gaps of the stone bricks, but it looked very deserted.

“What’re you doing here?” a familiar voice asked.

Alex and Rose turned around to see Samantha walk towards them in her own kind of attire.

“The bigger question is what’re you doing here?” Amy replied,” If you’re here Roy and Rocker’s probably around.”

“Relax Amy,” Samantha said,” I handed the two over to the authorities. They won’t be bugging your little playground for a while.

“So you went against them,” Amy concluded,” Something I would totally expect from one of the rudest and undisciplined member of Roy’s gang and I’m guessing you have to do something with all the guards missing?”

“Hey, you’re lucky I went against him!” Samantha yelled getting annoyed;” If it weren’t for me Rex would still be tearing up your garden and trying to get revenge on your new playmate Alan.”

“Uh, it’s Alex,” Alex corrected.

“Whatever,” Samantha rudely replied as she wiped her nose,” Plus I had nothing to do with the weird things going on here.”

“I’m sure,” Rose said sarcastically.

“I don’t have to stay here and continue to listen to you,” Samantha snarled pushing Alex aside,” I’m going to check the inside.”

Samantha stormed into the tower, leaving Rose still feeling rather suspicious about her. Rose did feel a bit guilty saying those things to her, but she didn’t really know how to react towards Samantha since she used to have a history against her as well. Rose decided to follow Samantha, even if she truly did change her ways. Alex didn’t want to get lost in the tower, but the tower was new to him so he went to look around by himself. He was pretty sure he’d be okay, he’s been through several towers in the three regions, so he thought,” how would this be any different from the others?”

From above, Tim and Miasma saw the three kids look around the tower. Instead of rushing for them, he slowly walked downstairs to find at least one of them. Miasma didn’t really like how calm Tim was about this. So instead of taking the stairs, she climbed down by using a vine that hung on the side of the walls. Inside Samantha was unaware that Rose was sneaking up behind her. Samantha stopped for a while finding two doors to two different rooms. Rose stood quietly and still waiting for Samantha to make a move. But without warning, the lights instantly shut off making everything go black. As the lights switched on Rose found that Samantha was gone. Rose looked at both ways and hesitated for a moment on which way to go. She closed her eyes and instantly ran to the left door. Rose ran and ran as fast as she could until she entered a dark large room filled with darkness. All there was was a massive computer with a great neon blue screen. Rose sat down and logged on to see what was stored in the computer.

She just clicked enter and soon four options appeared. The four options were trainer files, symbols, tower functions and history. Rose didn’t know what to choose so she just chose trainer files. In it were several files of numerous known trainers in Xega. There were Elites, champions, former champions, gym leaders and others, even Samantha’s file was in it. As she skimmed through several pages she found Alex. It was weird, Alex was new and they already had a file about him. She clicked Alex’s file and saw his history when he used to be in the three regions. It had his birth place, childhood, league history, blood type and other personal things. She then noticed there was a personal info that said,” holds forgotten symbol.”

The words “forgotten symbol” had a link to the certain symbol Alex had. Filled with much curiosity, Rose clicked on the link. The computer screen opened up the symbols option. The screen showed a cave painting of the kind of symbol Alex had on his arm. It read:

Forgotten Symbol of life

This symbol has the power to increase offensive strength of its holder or the power can be transferred to the pokemon if the user wishes to. This symbol is one of the three forgotten symbols of the world which gives unnatural power. This symbol can only be attained by Kyogre, the sea basin pokemon. For several years people have talked about the end of the world. It was known several centuries ago that Kyogre and Groudon nearly destroyed the world because of their titanic battle. After Rayquaza stopped the two, the world was filled with unsteadiness and balance was filled with a slight of disorder.

Years after the first battle, two insane teams resurrected these beasts and used their catastrophic strength once again. These two teams were both called Team Aqua and Team Magma. Magma resurrected Groudon while Aqua resurrected Kyogre. Once again Rayquaza was summoned and finally stopped them from their second clash. Unfortunately, because of the second battle the disorder erupted into massive proportions making total unseen disorder in the world. The disorder was known that a human will rise with several pokemon to aid him and lead the world to its final moment and a new world would be created. The Forgotten Symbol of Life wields an even greater power which is still unknown. The reasons these symbols exist is because…

But before Rose read on, the computer immediately switched off and the lights turned on, revealing several fresh carcasses chained to the wall. Rose turned around and saw Tim blocking the only way out. Rose took out her poke ball and prepared for a battle.

“You know a bit too much for your own good little girl,” Tim said as he slowly placed his mask on,” I’m afraid I can’t let you leave like this. But don’t worry; I’ll fix you up to so I could let you leave.”

With that Tim placed his mask on and a blinding light shined from his face. Rose held on as the light continued to shine. After a while, Rose’s voice was heard all over the tower. Alex looked up and heard Rose’s voice. He knew she was in trouble; he turned around towards the nearest entrance into the tower. As he ran up the stairs, Miasma instantly appeared blocking the way. The first thought that came to Alex’s mind was deadly and attractive. Miasma took one step back and got a poke ball ready. Alex instantly felt a battle coming up. He grabbed Sneviper and got ready for anything sneaky that Miasma might just do.

“It’s not safe for children to play here kid,” Miasma hissed,” Too bad you don’t know what’s good for you. Now you’ll be facing me, Miasma the Grey.”

“Like I’m threatened from you,” Alex answered,” You’ve got looks, but do you have skill?”

“You’re pretty bold to doubt my power,” Miasma said,” it’s playtime kid.”

“The name’s not kid it’s Alex,” the boy corrected

Without replying, Miasma drew a poke ball from her coat and released it on the stairs. A Marowak appeared on the stairs spinning its club like a piton. Marowak is a bone keeper pokemon. It was pretty short, had brown scales, a kind of dinosaur skull mask concealing its face and a bone used as a club. Alex released Sneviper to the field. As Soon as Sneviper sparked out, Marowak charged in and slapped the snake right off the stairs.

“Hey that’s an illegal start!” Alex complained.

“Do you see a referee anywhere?” Miasma sarcastically asked,” This isn’t your everyday pokemon battle with trainers and gym leaders. In here no rules apply. So let’s see you try and survive here. Marowak stab it with your club!”

Marowak grunted and leapt into the air and swung its club several times. Sneviper wasn’t even able to take one breath from the quick strikes of the Marowak’s slash attacks. Sneviper was sent flying right on the wall. The snake pokemon immediately rolled over and avoided a punch on the face by Marowak. Unfortunately, as its fist struck the wall, its club swung sideways knocking Sneviper out. This battle looked as it were going to end soon, Alex was astonished. Sneviper got up to try an attack; it took a deep breath and released a poison sting. Marowak shielded itself by spinning its club around and around in front of it. The poisonous shining needles were unable to penetrate the fast and impressive shielding Marowak made. Marowak thought that it stopped all the needles, but one tiny needle shot out and stung the bone keeper’s shoulder. This wouldn’t have done much since poison barely had any affect on earth types. But Marowak was sent one step back.

This astonished both Alex and Miasma. To make things even more surprising, Marowak fell on one knee and began to groan in pain as a purple aura surged around its body. It was clear that Marowak was poisoned. But Marowak instantly stood up and got into battle mode once more. Alex and Miasma was unable to notice, but the mark on Alex’s arm was shining again. Marowak ran up to Sneviper and slammed a part of its body. Sneviper was once more sent flying back. But seeing what it was able to do, it stabbed its tail on the gap of the stone floor and held on. The amazing small strike also gave Alex a bit confidence.

“Okay Sneviper time to show this witch what we can do,” Alex said with a determined look,” Sneviper rock throw!”

“What?” Miasma asked wondering how that would happen. She guessed that Alex got a little boost of confidence, but it sounded now like he was being a bit silly now.

But to Miasma’s amazement, Sneviper actually did a kind of rock throw attack. By using its iron tail attack, Sneviper struck its tail deeper into the gap of the stone and lifted the block off right at Marowak. Marowak didn’t really care; it instantly slashed the block into half by using its club. As the block divided, Sneviper sprung out and slammed its head right on Marowak’s face. The bone keeper lost balance and fell back. This was getting a bit humiliating and frustrating to Marowak. Marowak got back on its feet and threw its club like a boomerang. But Sneviper leapt right towards it and caught the bone with its mouth like a dog. Marowak began to blabber with disbelief. This was getting too weird.

“Okay that’s it,” Miasma said,” I’m not going to be humiliated by some kid. Marowak focus punch!”

“Sneviper poison tail!” Alex ordered.

Sneviper dropped the club and slithered towards Marowak with a shining purple blade tail. Marowak charged in with its fists powered with great energy and strength. Both pokemon went between each other and delivered the attack. Marowak landed safely on one knee, while Sneviper fell weakly on the ground. The focus punch had struck its stomach, but it was still up. Marowak also had a cut on its chest. Looking towards it, a final swing with the club would probably finish the snake. Marowak took one step forward and instantly fell over with the purple aura slowly fading away. Marowak was finished with the poison still surging around its body.

“This can’t be,” Miasma stammered,” This isn’t over.”

“Well it looks like it is,” Alex smiled as he recalled Sneviper.

Coming from behind Miasma was Tim clapping his hands. He looked impressed by Alex’s battling skills. Miasma didn’t like the thought that Tim was cheering for Alex.

“I must say that was an interesting fight,” Tim said,” Maybe sometime you should show Miasma a thing or two.”

“Who are you siding on?!” Miasma yelled.

“Sorry,” Tim giggled lightly,” It’s just a habit of mine. Anyway I must ask you to leave. As Miasma said kids like you shouldn’t be playing here. You could get hurt.”

“You two nutcases are hiding something aren’t you?” Alex said.

“Why would you say that?” Tim asked with a sudden change of tone.

“You both are asking me to leave,” Alex said,” I would probably but your friend blocked my way. So tell me what’re you both hiding?”

“You’re testing my patience boy,” Tim said sounding a bit annoyed.

“Well why don’t we do something about it?” Alex asked as he grabbed Sneviper’s poke ball,” Let’s battle.”

“Why don’t you heal it first?” Tim grinned as he held his mask.

“Already did,” Alex said as he took out his Sneviper. He instantly took out a spray from his coat and squirted the liquid on Sneviper healing it completely,” Ready?”

“I just hope you are,” Tim said as he placed his mask on.

A sudden burst of light shined out of Tim’s face. “Prepare to taste the true flavor of pain and torment!” Tim said in a darker and mature voice. The bright light shined out as if the sun were just in front of him. Neither Sneviper nor Alex could see what Tim was doing. Suddenly out of nowhere something quickly slashed Sneviper back. Sneviper tried to sniff or listen to locate the pokemon. But the pokemon was too quick and Sneviper was instantly struck in every part of its body. Sneviper instantly fell down and fainted. It was both quick and brutal for Sneviper. The snake wasn’t even given a chance to see what it was up against.

Alex covered his face and heard a buzzing noise speed around him. Without knowing what it was, it instantly flew right behind him and gave a swift cut. Alex turned around to see the pokemon, but it instantly struck again from the sides. Astonished, the pokemon charged from everywhere, Alex finally fell on the ground as his coat flew off filled with several tears. He felt the tip of a blade point his back, he began to slowly black out as he saw the light slowly fade away. The pokemon was about to reveal itself, but all of a sudden another pokemon came in and slammed the invisible pokemon away.

Well thanks Avegaille and Raichu Guardian. Here's the next chapter, enjoy. This one might not be as exciting as most chapters, but not every chapter needs a bloody five hour battle right?

Chapter 3
------------
Meet Skyler and the Tenkos
------------

The next day, Alex woke up to find himself in a hospital bed in Verve City. Slowly opening his eyes, he saw Rose sitting beside him. Rose looked a bit okay, except her clothes were a bit torn, she had a few bandages and she was on a wheel chair. Alex slowly sat up, seeing that he had recovered pretty well from the quick slices Tim’s pokemon did to him.

“You’re wounds are gone,” Rose said with slight amazement,” You heal pretty fast.”

“Yeah,” Alex said, feeling a slight pain in his ribs,” Rose what happened? I heard you scream then I got into a fight with these two…”

“I know,” Rose interrupted,” Samantha saved us. Even after following and insulting her she still saved us. I was lying on the ground badly beaten, but Samantha came in out of nowhere and saved me. I was beginning to weaken out as she flew me out of the tower. The last thing I saw was a bright flashing light from outside, then I completely blacked out.”

“So do you know where she is now?” Alex asked.

“Unfortunately no,” Rose said,” I wanted to thank her and apologize about my rudeness. I tried calling her on her pokesat but she was either unable to reach or just didn’t like to answer my calls. I checked her location, but for some reason the pokesat satellite detects that the beacon in her sat was severed so it’s almost impossible to reach her. Anyways I have to go now. I sent you my pokesat number on your pokesat just in case you wanted to talk or need a bit help with the terrain.”

“Thanks,” Alex said as Rose left.

Alex picked up his pokesat from the table and Sneviper in its poke ball. He opened the pokesat to see Rose’s number, it seems she also inserted a new file into his pokesat. There was a new map for the region of Xega. He opened it and soon a 3D map of all of Xega appeared, even the small islands. The region of Xega was huge; it was filled with a few giant cities and filled with a lot of small towns or villages. The ocean around it was called the Aurura Ocean and beyond it just said unknown. Alex had to find a way to cross the unknown parts to get back to Kanto. But first he had to deal with Tim and Miasma.

Later, when Alex was feeling much better, he walked down the forest path towards the Chromo Tower. It was much easier for him to get there with the new map, but upon arriving to the location of the tower, it seems that it was gone. Lying in its place was a huge crater filled with a few blocks of stone and earth. It was like that the tower was lifted off the ground and taken somewhere else. He instantly turned around back to Verve but fell over, by bumping into something behind him. Alex looked up and saw another threatening person.

This man wore a white mask that covered all of his face. There was a red eye in the center of the mask, it looked a bit like a Cyclops mask. His hair was messy and was colored orange brown. He also wore a white cape, a green shirt and pants and white gloves as well. The man let out his hand to offer Alex for help.

“I don’t why I’m asking this but did you see what happened here?” Alex asked.

“I’ve seen,” the man said,” It was lifted off the earth and taken away by great and powerful dark magic that only certain necromancers could perform.”

“Great,” Alex said,” Do you also know where it went then?”

Without saying a word, the man just pointed upwards into the air. Alex looked up, but only saw the sky. But he guessed that it was somewhere in the air. He opened his pokesat but couldn’t detect anything in the air.

“Where exactly is it?” Alex asked.

“It has returned to the Azure Skies,” the strange man said,” It has returned to the Black Castle of Eternal Nightmares. You must hurry and reach the castle before it starts.”

“Before what starts?” Alex asked again.

“It would be better if I show you,” he said,” My name is Skyler the Oracle of the future.”

Skyler slowly removed his mask, revealing another great light to flash out. Alex was soon blinded once more by the revealing light. As soon as the light faded, Alex found himself in a burning wasteland of sand and dust. Skyler was standing behind him. Alex didn’t understand it just looked like a desert. But Skyler told him to look down. Alex looked down at the sand but couldn’t find anything. The Oracle kneeled down and began to brush the sand off the ground, a sign appeared, and as more of the sand was removed the letters spelled “Welcome to the Garden of Verve.” Alex began to stammer back in shock. He then looked beyond the sand dunes and saw several office buildings covered in an ocean of sand.

“This is Xega’s fate,” Alex said,” What about the other three regions?”

Skyler picked up a handful of sand from the ground and blew it on Alex’s face. As the sand passed his face, Alex found he was standing in the center of a lake. The surroundings were pretty good. Much vegetation, it looked like a blossoming jungle. Alex didn’t understand what was going on, but Skyler remained silent, staring blankly at the horizon in front of him. Alex didn’t understand, but he watched as well. Soon, bursting out of a tree was a weak old man in chains. Soon a few soldiers came in and took him away. Alex still didn’t understand.

“It’s not always good to see the future,” Skyler said,” People usually think and hope of a better and brighter future. But when that future comes, their dreams shatter, hopes fade and hearts die. This is the future of everybody if the apocalypse spell continues.”

Soon the images disappeared and they returned back to the forest.

“So you’re saying that I have to prevent all this?” Alex asked,” Kyogre said there would be a time of hardships, but I wasn’t expecting all this to happen to me.”

“You’re only getting a portion of the pain,” Skyler said,” I have to carry these burdens as well. You don’t know who they are, but there are others who will be facing the exact same hardships you’ll be facing. The others have already journeyed to complete their portion, right now your part is to get to the Castle.”

“But wait,” Alex said.

“I’ll meet with you later,” Skyler said slowly fading away,” But for now hide. They’re coming. Farewell for now chosen trainer of Kyogre.”

Skyler soon disappeared from sight; Alex had no idea what Skyler was talking about. Very soon he heard some footsteps near the area, following Skyler’s advice; Alex jumped into the bushes and hid from anyone who came by. Soon arriving to the area was Tim. He looked around sensing someone hiding nearby. He wasn’t able to see anything but he listened. In the bushes, Alex was having a hard time to stay still. Tim then heard a rattling sound from the bushes and slowly marched towards it. Alex’s heart was beating fast as he saw Tim’s shadow tower over the bushes. Tim slowly reached out to the rattling bushes. He spread out the leaves, and then suddenly a Spearow flew out cawing.

Tim didn’t feel that it was the Spearow. He then turned to the next bush Alex was in and reached out once more. But suddenly Miasma yelled out to him to return. Tim wanted to check the bushes, but didn’t want to let Miasma lose her temper. So he turned around and left the area. Alex walked out of the bushes and decided to move further in Xega. He didn’t know what to expect, but since he was a bit new this could be a new experience for him. Walking deeper into the forest he comes across a new town. Looking into his pokesat, the map said he was located in to city of Sengi. The city looked like most cities Alex has encountered; it was filled with the same scenery. Peaceful people, normal buildings and everything you would normally see in several cities of the other regions. It didn’t look very special.

“Alex,” a familiar voice called out,” What’re you doing here?”

Alex turned around and saw Samantha,” Oh Samantha didn’t expect to see you here,” Alex said,” Oh yeah thanks for saving me and Rose. Rose also wanted to apologize to you.”

“It was nothing,” Samantha replied,” So what’re you doing here?”

“I was first heading towards the Chromo Tower,” Alex said,” But this guy named Skyler said it returned to a place called the Black Castle of something.”

“Black Castle of Eternal Nightmares,” Samantha finished.

“Yeah that’s it,” Alex said,” Do you know how to get there?”

“Well I can’t say that I can’t,” Samantha said,” But why do you want to go over there? It’s not threatening anyone.”

“Well Skyler said that I and a few others have to stop some kind of doom,” Alex said,” Maybe I might also find a way out of Xega that way.”

“Well I’m not a big believer of fortune tellers,” Samantha said,” I believe that we decided our own future. You shouldn’t go and believe everything that people tell you. They might just be messing with your mind, which could give you major problems later on. But if you really want to go to the Black Castle, you’ll need to enter a kind of portal in Griffindale. It’s in the far north of Xega, very far from here. I don’t think it will be easy for someone like you to cross these new terrains. You shouldn’t follow someone just because they tell you what’s going to happen. It might just lead you to a wild goose chase.”

“Maybe you’re right,” Alex said looking down.

“Well it’s been nice talking to you,” Samantha said,” See you around.”

***

Later that afternoon, Alex and Sneviper had just finished off a trainer with a Pidgey who asked for a battle. This was his seventh one in the city and Sneviper was enjoying it. Alex was wondering why people are battling so much in Sengi. But Alex didn’t care so much since he and Sneviper were enjoying the life he had left long ago. Several people have watched his even battles and were impressed not only by Alex’s battling skills but also because of Sneviper, since they never saw one before.

As soon as Alex had finished his battle with the Pidgey, he heard another battle taking place. There was a huge crowd, cheering on the name Hawk. Alex struggled his way in until he had reached the front. On one side was a normal trainer with a Pikachu and the other side was the trainer who the crowd called Hawk and his pokemon Scizor. Hawk looked about to be the age of seventeen, he had stone grey eyes and sharp dark green hair. He wore a sleeveless black jacket, a long sleeved green shirt and navy blue pants. His pokemon Scizor is a bug and metal type. It has a body plated entirely of red armor, blade like wings and pincers that looked like heads. The battle was halfway through, the Pikachu was panting heavily with bruises while Hawk’s Scizor remained calm and still.

“Okay Pikachu thunder attack!” the trainer ordered.

The little yellow mouse released a great blast of golden electricity from its red cheeks right at Scizor. Unforutnately, before the attack could hit, Scizor appeared right in the sky and dived down towards Pikachu like a torpedo. Pikachu was too stunned to make any movements. Within a matter of seconds, a cloud of dust engulfed the spot Pikachu was. As the cloud died down, Pikachu was on the ground with Scizor’s pincer tied around Pikachu’s neck. The little mouse gave some heavy pants as it saw Scizor ready to deliver one final blow.

“Okay I give in!” the trainer said,” Pikachu return!”

But the Scizor instantly blocked the path of the red beam. Pikachu began to sweat drop seeing that it wasn’t able to be recalled.

“This battle isn’t over until the little rat turns from yellow to black,” Hawk said,” Scizor finish it off with a close ranged hyper beam!”

The Scizor locked on and pointed its pincer a bit closer. Soon some energy inside the pincer rotated simultaneously. The crowd was waiting to see what would happen, but Alex was unable to watch this go on. He quietly took out Sneviper, who was still packed with energy, and ordered it to stop the Scizor with iron tail. The beam was just a few seconds until firing. But soon Scizor heard a hissing sound and looked above. Sneviper dived down and lashed its blade like tail right on Scizor’s chest. Scizor got off Sneviper with excruciating pain allowing the trainer to recall his Pikachu.

The Scizor took a few steps back and looked at its chest; there was a fresh cut right through its metal body. Scizor began to snap angrily at Sneviper, as Sneviper replied by wiggling its tail in the air.

“Okay who did that!?” Hawk yelled angrily,” Who’s the wiseass who wanted to interfere?!”

The crowd began to walk away, giving excuses why they have to leave. Leaving Alex, Hawk and two others behind. The two remaining people were obviously associates of Hawk. One of them was shorter than Hawk, he was a bit stubby, his brown hair was short and his eyes had multi colored contact lenses. The other one was female about Hawk’s age; she had a nice figure, glossy green eyes and long silky lavender hair. She wore almost everything completely white, a white sleeveless top, bandana, gloves and pants. All her clothes were also designed either with a blazing blue flame design or a sparkling blue serpent dragon.

“So you’re the kid who interfered!” Hawk yelled.

“Kid?!” Alex replied,” I’m older than you!”

“Well whatever you shouldn’t go interfering with other peoples business,” Hawk said,” Carla Buster lets all take this kid on!”

Carla and Buster took out their poke balls ready to battle, but they were instantly stopped when Skyler appeared. “What’s going on here?!” Skyler hollered.

“Uh… nothing Skyler,” Carla and Buster grinned sheepishly.

“Yeah a whole lot of nothing,” Skyler replied,” You Tenkos get out of here before I have to teach you a lesson.”

“Ooh we’re so scared…?” Hawk stopped, Buster and Carla instantly covered Hawk’s mouth as they recalled Hawk’s Scizor.

“Was that a sarcastic remark?” Skyler asked in an annoyed tone.

“Uh no Skyler,” Buster said,” We really are scared, in fact we’re just going to leave now.”

Buster and Carla ran away terrified carrying Hawk, who was struggling to get free. Skyler sighed and remarked,” Brats.”

“Hey Skyler thanks for showing up,” Alex said,” I’m guessing you know Hawk.”

“Yeah I know him,” Skyler said,” Anyways don’t just go around against those three. They’re trouble, just stay with me and you’ll be alright. Come I’ll take you to the pokemon center so you could rest and rejuvenate your mind for a while. I sense in your mind that you have doubt about me.”

Chapter 4
------------
Hidden location
------------

It was an early morning in the region of Xega. It was all peaceful and several pokemon and people were all asleep. The sun was still a bit far from rising. The stars continued to twinkle brightly while the peaceful sounds of the forest echoed over and over. But not everybody was asleep. Samantha was wide awake and was following a path out of the forest. It seems she was on a path to the far city of Mechtropolis, it would take about a week to get there on foot, but by transportation it would probably just take two to five hours to get there. As Samantha walked along, Alex kept ringing in her mind. She remembered how he defeated Rex and Miasma.

She knew that Rex wasn’t as tough as her, but he was a bit of a challenge to most trainers. She also remembered the glow on his arm when he fought against Rex, she recognized the symbol. It was a forgotten symbol, what puzzled her was why there was a forgotten symbol after several years. She suspected that there was great trouble coming to Xega. She knew that she told, Alex to ignore what Skyler said, but she did this only to keep him away from what she feared. She was taking a detour to Mechtropolis so she could just get a few things that might help her. Mechtropolis had the most advanced technological resources in Xega.

As she continued to move forward, she heard a rumbling noise nearby. She looked around and saw a tree nearly collapse down on her. She luckily dodged and took out a poke ball to get ready for whatever did that. But she just heard the rumbling noise continue. She took out her pokesat and viewed the route she was on. The map revealed that she was near an ancient bronze temple of Celebi. She followed the trail to the temple and found that there were people in the area. Among the people were the Tenkos and Tim. Miasma and Draco were nowhere nearby. Samantha took a small peek at what they were up to and saw Hawk hand over a golden medallion over to Tim.

“Good work Tenkos you’ve done well,” Tim said,” I’ll make sure this medallion will be placed in the right hands.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Hawk said,” The medallion was an easy one to do. I’m surprised we get paid a lot just for such a simple task. Now if you’ll excuse us we have a bit of territory expanding to do. You know there are several trainers who think they can muscle us out of our area. We have to eliminate the competition if you know what I mean.”

“I think I have a clue,” Tim smiled as he tied the medallion around his neck,” Speaking about territory how about you do another job for me?”

“Like what?” Hawk asked,” Helping you pull out another treasure from a rock?”

“Not exactly,” Tim said,” you know very well that there are several treasures located in the Sengi Ruins. I need you to steal a certain treasure known as the Emerald Eye”

“Okay why?” Hawk asked with suspicion.

“Let me be honest with you,” Tim said,” I’m working for tall and dark guy named Draco. He is looking for some people he could count on and he has found that you Tenkos have such expertise for a certain job he wants you to do.”

“I don’t like the sound of that,” Hawk said,” But what’s in it for us?”

“How would you like it if all of Sengi was your so called turf?” Tim smiled.

“Interesting proposal,” Hawk said,” But it’ll take more than that to convince me. Do you have any idea how dangerous that area is? It’s a giant sand maze where you can barely find anything and it’s known to have weird red eyed pokemon that hides in the shadows. Plus the sandstorm in the area is known to be one of the most treacherous.”

“How about I pay you and give you Sengi as your new territory?” Tim suggested.

Better,” Hawk answered,” But if you or any of your friends play a dirty trick on any of us we’ll skin you. We have a few things that none of the trainers of Xega know about.”

After the threat Hawk said, he turned away back to Sengi. Carla and Buster looked at each other with concern and followed Hawk. Tim gave a chuckle at Hawk as he turned away. He raised his arm forward and soon a burning portal opened up. Tim slowly entered the portal to another area in Xega. Samantha heard and saw the whole thing. She definitely knew something was wrong and it included several people that shouldn’t be in it. She felt like returning to Sengi to warn Alex about the Tenkos, but she thought it was better if he found out later on. Taking a deep breath she ran on into the forest on her way to the next city.

***

“I’m sure you’re wondering what this place is,” Skyler said as he led Alex around.

“Yeah pretty much,” Alex said as he walked around. Skyler took him to an underground tunnel filled with several flickering candles. He could hear the echo of his footsteps and the dripping of water from the ceiling. As they went deeper into the tunnel, the number of candles began to decrease, since a shining vblue aura began to shine around the tunnel. He was able to tell that there was water nearby since he heard his shoes make squishing mud noises on the ground. Soon there was a small path in the center of a great sparkling lake.

“I’ve brought you here for a bit of training and a just a few things you need to know about the past,” Skyler said as he stopped at a dead end,” Look in the water, what do you see?”

Alex looked into the crystal shining water and didn’t really see anything. Suddenly a shine twinkled on the floor of the lake. Alex took a closer look and saw several other twinkles shine. The twinkles revealed a large silver marking that was similar to his. Alex pulled up his sleeve and saw that the symbol was exactly the same to his. Alex was getting really tired of what was going on.

“Okay so what does the symbol mean?” Alex asked.

“This is the part about the past,” Skyler said,” Kyogre and Groudon have both chosen a trainer of their own to plant their symbol on. This symbol will represent them and you. Your symbol is life while Groudon’s is power. Kyogre has carefully wandered the oceans for centuries to find a trainer with worthy skills to plant his symbol on, while Groudon has placed his symbol on a trainer since their birth. I don’t know how to activate your symbol, but I have a feeling that you will slowly learn about it as you go on. Also it is known that Kyogre and Groudon have given this symbol to stop a certain trainer that will lead a great army of pokemon to destroy the world.”

“So who exactly is this enemy?” Alex asked.

“I unfortunately don’t have the power to see all of the past,” Skyler confessed,” My sister might know, but I don’t know where she is. We are guessing that Draco’s the one who’ll lead the army.”

“Who’s Draco?” Alex asked again.

“Draco was once a great senator of the city of Shinato,” Skyler answered,” He was once very respected by the whole region and used to keep peace in the region. But one day something happened. Draco requested to the Shinato leader to make him in charge of a personal army. He announced to the whole region that there were parasites in the region that must be erased from the land. Since he was once respected, people supported him. But after a year, people realized they have made a grave mistake. For Draco ordered his army to eradicate the Groudon and Kyogre temple. As you know the temples are mostly just like museums about the legends. But Draco struck the great temples and burnt them to the ground. Every city of Xega decided it was time for him to retire and he was provoked from his title. As another punishment his sentence was exile from Shinato. After several years everybody thought he was dead, but he was now as powerful as ever. Standing by his side was his personal general Miasma and his lieutenant was a trainer named Tim. He’s our biggest suspect as the enemy trainer because the temples he destroyed had several books that would help us. It also had information about the forgotten symbols.”

“Okay you’ve convinced me,” Alex said.

“I knew it would,” Skyler said,” You were first convinced by Samantha weren’t you?”

“Yeah, wait how did you know about? Never mind,” Alex said,” Anyways do you know who the chosen trainer of Groudon is?”

“Again my sister has the answers,” Skyler said,” I’m more of a future seer. My sister has seen every bit of the past so she would know almost everything we need to know.”

“Well what about the training you told me about?” Alex asked.

“We’ll start that now,” Skyler said as he reached his palm out to the wall.

The solid stone wall that he stopped in front of slowly collapsed revealing a staircase and a bright light to the outside. Alex and the Oracle slowly exited from the underground tunnel. As they went out, Alex was quite shocked where they were. It was a small village filled with stone buildings, lots of pottery and several ripped banners and flags hanging on each building. Alex pulled out his pokesat to see where they were. The pokesat just informed him that they were in a location known as sector 1. It wasn’t far from Sengi. Alex noticed the whole place looked uninhabited. There weren’t really any people moving or hiding in the streets or buildings. Skyler remained calm as a silent sandy wind blew in the area.

“What is this place?” Alex asked.

“It’s known as Sector 1,” Skyler replied,” Or to be more precise Sub Sengi. This was a basic part of Sengi where the first inhabitants of the city lived and dwelled. But due to several major and amazingly quick developments, thanks to Mechtropolis, several new buildings and factories rose up far from the area forcing families to move into the city. Before the new Sengi was created people used to tingle with several mystical items which gave strange powers. Sadly most of these items were either lost or forgotten. Right now we’re looking for a very rare artifact known as the Emerald Eye.”

“Okay let’s pretend I don’t know that,” Alex said.

“The Emerald Eye is a powerful jewel that can bring back life that has been locked for a while or help to continue it. I need it to revive this,” Skyler said as he pulled out a crusty egg from his cape,” This egg is a very rare prehistoric egg that contains a rare and probably extinct pokemon. Luckily it’s not dead, if it was the Emerald Eye wouldn’t be able to bring it back to life. This egg still has life and if it hatches we would have a new species of pokemon that can breed here in Xega. So I’m guessing you know what you have to do.”

“Obviously,” Alex answered,” It can’t be that difficult.”

“Actually it’ll be a bit more difficult than you think,” Skyler replied as he placed the egg back in his coat.

“Why?” Alex asked.

Then all of a sudden something dashed right past them leaving a great cloud of dust. As the dust died down, Alex looked up and saw the attacker/s on top of one of the abandoned stone buildings. Standing on the building were the Tenkos with Scizor hovering right next to Hawk. Alex gritted his teeth while Hawk just gave a menacing grin. He was smiling in a happy and confident way but inside he was burning very angrily at Alex. He hasn’t forgotten the certain incident Alex did to him. Scizor too was rather upset with what Sneviper did to his body. The powerful cut still remained on Scizor’s chest; luckily it was only a scar now.

“What’re you three miscreants doing here?” Skyler asked.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Hawk asked menacingly,” We’re not afraid of you anymore. The bigger question is why do you want to waste the precious emerald on a silly artifact? We’re getting paid big time just to deliver the emerald. The scratch you inflicted on Scizor was just a fluke. Scizor and I would love to just skin every scale of your pokemon, but we’ve got an emerald to find, so I’ll leave you with my pals to take care of you. But for now, Scizor sand storm!”

Scizor began to rapidly flap its wings to create a great blast of wind the shoot out in several directions. Soon the mighty blasts of wind churned with the sand, to block the view. Alex held onto himself and covered his face. Skyler on the other hand stood calmly allowing the sand to twirl around. He wasn’t stunned at all. As soon as the sand died down, the Tenkos disappeared from sight. Skyler reached out from his coat and took out green sand goggles.

“Take this just in case they try that again,” Skyler said,” I’ll be in Sengi to take care of the egg and to find out a few more things that elude me. I have a few friends that are quite resourceful about the situation. Right now, follow the Tenkos and don’t let them take or find the Eye.”

After saying that, an Abra slowly crawled behind him and instantly teleported them back to the new Sengi. Alex looked at Sub Sengi and sighed, it would take a while to find either the Tenkos or the Eye. Later, Alex began to look in several clay vases for the Eye, but all he found were cobwebs and dust inside the vases. As he looked inside the buildings, he felt that there was something watching him. Behind him a glowing red eye peeked out of a building and instantly hid back inside. The little mysterious figure made such a swift get away that it accidentally knocked down one of the vases.

Alex heard this and turned to investigate what made the vase break. Alex kneeled down and inspected the broken pieces of clay on the ground; he then heard a whooshing movement come from within the sandy stone building. Slowly walking in, he heard it again. He then saw a glowing red eye in the shadows of the corner. He was a bit frightened, but he took Sneviper’s poke ball and got ready for whatever was going to come out, then all of a sudden, it hovered right up to him and made a beeping sound. Alex fell back and to his relief it was only a little Beldum.

Beldum is a small metal psychic type pokemon. It had no arms or legs. It just looked like a small metal blue leg with three claws and a metal blue joint for a head. Beldum lowered itself and blinked twice blankly at Alex. Alex stood up, pretty surprised to see a Beldum. He heard that these kinds of pokemon were pretty rare. The Beldum then turned its attention to Alex’s arm. The little metal psychic pokemon began to nudge the arm as if it wanted something. Alex just pulled up his sleeve and showed his mark. Beldum looked very interested in the mark.

“Man it’s difficult to spot pokemon like you,” Alex said,” Hey you wouldn’t happen to know where you could find the Emerald Eye, would you?”

But before Beldum could answer a great blast of flames shot out from above and struck Beldum down. Alex tried to carry the little metal pokemon but the flames surged heat throughout its body, making it feel like a walking toaster. Alex had no option but to catch the Beldum tossing the poke ball, Beldum didn’t even bother to try to resist. The poke ball instantly remained still. Alex kept the poke ball on his belt and looked up at the attacker. Standing on one of the buildings was Buster with a Flareon by his side.

Flareon is a fire type dog pokemon. It has burning orange red fur and a coat of yellow fur around its neck and on its head. Flareon is one of the five Eevee evolutions and is considered the strongest amongst the five. Alex grabbed Sneviper’s poke ball and got ready to release Sneviper, but all of a sudden Flareon spat out a small ember at his hand. Alex dropped his poke ball as he held his bleeding hand in pain. He fell on his knees as Sneviper’s poke ball stayed on the ground motionless. Alex slowly reached out his poke ball, but Carla picked it up from him.

“You’re coming with us,” Carla said,” We have a small clue where the Eye is and we’re pretty close. Now that we have your only pokemon you’re defenseless.”

“Just because you have it doesn’t mean I can still call it out!” Alex said,” Sneviper go tail whip!”

With a sudden flash, Sneviper shot behind Carla and slapped its tail on her leg. Carla lost balance and fell over, losing Sneviper’s poke ball. Alex weakly got up and got placed his goggles on and tied his coat around his nose and mouth. Buster leapt off the building and ordered his Flareon to attack. Flareon charged delivering powerful blasts of flames at Alex and Sneviper. Carla got up and took one poke ball from her belt. Seeing that he was outnumbered, Alex knew it was time to retreat for the moment.

“Sneviper use smoke screen!” Alex ordered.

Sneviper took a deep breath and exhaled a great cloud of black smoke around them, blinding both Carla and Buster. As the smoke faded away, Alex and Sneviper were nowhere in sight. Carla snarled as she headed off to the west part of Sector 1 and Buster to the east. Actually, Alex didn’t go far, he hid inside one of the stone buildings with Sneviper and Beldum safe in their poke balls. Alex peeked out of the window and panted heavily, waiting for them to leave. He then took one step backwards, and felt a part of the floor push down. He turned back and saw there was something other than sand on the ground.

Slowly brushing the sand off, he found a loose square piece on the floor. He slowly pushed the loose part aside and found a stairway to somewhere underground. He had a clue that it wasn’t abandoned, because there was light shining around the bottom. He was a bit hesitant to go down, but he heard, Carla and Buster rush near the area. He instantly climbed down and pushed the seal back in its place. Taking no chances, he reached the bottom of the area. He saw that it was another tunnel with torches hanging on the side of the walls.

He slowly and quietly walked through the path the tunnel took him. As he went deeper, he found that there were carvings on the wall supposedly for direction. There were three directions, one direction led to an area with a bridge with it, the other to a kind of castle and the last one to a kind of mine. Not knowing where to go, Alex went ahead to the castle. There was light, but the light was powered by shining blue diamonds carved from the cave walls. Very soon he was out of the tunnel and into a kind of castle area. Alex was greatly stunned at this new location; he had never seen anything like it.

Chapter 5
--------------
Guardians of the Eye
--------------

Alex gazed at the colossal monument that stood in front of him. Standing in front of him was a giant statue mixed with the finest marble and gold. The statue looked like man wearing a robe, with both arms holding up the ceiling of the room. There were mighty walls reaching around the statue reaching up to the statue’s abdomen. Alex moved forward to see if the eye was there. All he saw above were mountains of dust and this was probably the most interesting thing he saw since he got to Sengi. Walking across the black rock bridge, he looked below and saw a burning stream of crimson magma.

Alex wasn’t a bit scared when he saw the flowing stream of flames from below. Ignoring it, he continued to make his way into the strange location. Passing the walls, he found there were houses and towers much smaller than the walls that stood. It looked like Sengi wasn’t as dull as it looked. Alex walked along the stone streets and looked around to see if there was anything else other than abandoned buildings.

As he continued to move around all he found were pottery and artifacts very different from Forgotten Sengi. Arriving to the statue, he found a kind of church standing in front of the giant feet of the statue. Hoping to find the eye or some helpful clues, Alex waltzed right in. Slowly pushing the heavy wooden oak doors, Alex saw that there were several dusty and broken benches on the sides. The once rosy red carpet on the floor withered into a dull red color. Several flowers that once bloomed nicely were now black and lifeless. The transparent colorful windows still shined brightly however. In front of the church were several small white candles, strangely there were two candles that had been lit. Seeing this Alex suspected that there were people.

He stood still listening for any movement and watching to see if anything will just appear. Then all of a sudden, a bit of dust fell from the top and on his shoulder. Looking above he saw there was a rope tied to the thick plank of wood. Then suddenly something from above the church swung right in front of him and gave him a kick on the stomach with both of its feet. The figure then tossed out a pokemon to attack Alex.

Alex didn’t have time to call out anything so he was knocked back swiftly by a powerful punch. Alex was sent flying out of the church, but before he landed on the ground something caught him from below and threw him on one of the buildings. Alex slowly stood up, brushing the dust off his coat and saw his attackers. Slowly exiting the church was a young man, looking to be about twenty seven. He had hazelnut brown hair and blond eyes. The young man wore a black shirt, a yellow jacket; very light yellow fingerless gloves and black pants with golden yellow designs of surging lightning. Standing next to him was an Electabuzz. Electabuzz is an electric pokemon with yellow fur, black stripes, powerful arms, a kind of spike on its head and two antennas on its head.

Slowly appearing behind the shadows was a young woman aging about the age of eighteen. She had black eyes and a red pony tail. She wore black long sleeved shirt, a sleeveless purple jacket with black designs of surges, a lavender mini skirt and long black socks. On her shoulder was a small and simple Kirilia. Kirilia is a psychic pokemon that looked a bit like a little female ballet dancer. Its head, top and arms were white and it looked like a kind of dancing skirt. Its hair and legs were green with a kind of pinkish curve on its head. It always stood on its toes.

“Who the hell are you two?” Alex asked.

“I’m Raphael,” the male trainer said,” And this is my companion Sarah. Who are you?”

“I’m the guy who’s about to kick both of your butts!” Alex replied as he grabbed Sneviper’s poke ball.

But before Alex could release Sneviper, Kirilia and Electabuzz both immediately released attacks at Alex. A combination of shining blue psychic energy and golden lightning shot out and struck Alex back. Skidding back, Alex released Sneviper and got ready for a two against one battle. Sarah gave a soft chuckle as she grinned while Raphael remained calm with a blank expression stamped on his face.

Back above, the Tenkos were busy in an abandoned factory located in between Sengi and Sub Sengi. It seems that Carla got information, from an anonymous caller, that there was an entrance to an underground terrain. Hawk was keeping an eye on things with Scizor helping. Carla and Buster were busy trying to find a way to the underground location. Buster was trying to find a way down by pressing all the buttons; he had no idea what he was doing. As he continued several of the machines began to work, manufacturing something. Carla disliked even touching the levers since she didn’t want to get her plain white clothes dirty. Buster sighed as he dived into several wires of the control panel of the factory.

After a while, Carla already got tired and decided to take a small break. All she did was look at the control panel and machines, hoping to just find a door. Looking around she began to wonder where she could find a vending machine. She looked around just finding buckets of oil and machines. She then found a vending machine from one of the control panels that surveyed the whole factory. Entering the room, she found that there was a speaker and several other buttons that did things. Ignoring them she took out a coin and inserted it into the vending machine. She took a look at all the selections and found one that she admired the most. It was an unusual soft drink that no one actually liked, except for her. Pressing the button, nothing happened. She then pressed the button a few more times and again nothing happened.

Finally she gave it a punch which made the whole factory rumble. In the center of the factory, the machines that did all the work began to separate and reveal a giant metal door lying on the floor. Carla and the other Tenkos were at awe when they saw the door. As the door opened, a large kind of elevator appeared. Soon red lights beamed from the floor making the whole room gain the color red. Soon all the machines that worked opened up several guns, weapons and vehicles for battle. The Tenkos looked around and began to wonder why there were several weapons in the factory. It was obvious that the factory didn’t develop any sort of weapons.

“Hawk what is all this?” Buster asked.

“I have no idea,” Hawk said,” But we have a job to do. Carla let’s go!”

Hawk recalled his Scizor while Carla came down with extra cans. The Tenkos all stood into the elevator. Very soon the elevator slowly sank underground while all the machines slowly transformed into their normal state and moved back on their spot. As the Tenkos went deeper, they found that there were several diamonds shining out off the tunnel walls with machines drilling through and taking the diamonds. As soon as they reached the bottom, they found they were in a kind of control center filled with several steel chains and other partly rusted offline machines. The whole underground area was able to hear the echoes of the machines drilling and the chains rattling. Buster then noticed that there was an electronic map on the top, telling where they were.

The map informed that they were in a control panel just across a bridge. It seems that there were several other structures built, other than the control area. Hawk scratched his chin, feeling a bit unusual. For him this area felt strangely familiar, as if he had been here a long time ago.

***

Back in the strange castle location, Alex and Sneviper were having a bit of a difficult time evading Raphael and Sarah. Right now Sneviper was trying to dodge several rocks Kirilia was levitating with its mind. Electabuzz tightened its muscles and jabbed its fists together. Giving a thunderous roar, Electabuzz released a mighty blast of electricity from its fists right at Sneviper. The black snake luckily dodged both attacks, but was sent back flying to Alex’s arms. Raphael and Sarah walked next to their pokemon.

“You should leave,” Raphael said.

“Yeah you don’t want us to put the hurting on ya!” Sarah yelled.

“I’m not leaving until I get the Emerald Eye,” Alex replied as Sneviper slithered off him.

“So you’re a thief,” Raphael remarked,” More of the reason you should leave. Thieves and greedy men are now welcomed here.”

“Listen I’m not greedy!” Alex said,” I just need the Eye.”

“Like we’ll just give it,” Sarah replied,” Kirilia attack with shadow ball!”

Kirilia morphed a black orb of surging dark purple energy in its palms and instantly threw it right at Sneviper and Alex. Sneviper released out spit of mucky green acid from its fangs right at the attack. The two attacks collided and made an explosion near the ground. Alex covered his face with his arms as clouds of smoke shrouded the area. Sneviper held its head up to stay focused for any attack that might happen. Kirilia’s eyes shined neon blue color as it focused its mind and instantly scattered the smoke away, allowing Electabuzz to easily see Sneviper.

Electabuzz charged right up and released a powerful punch of electricity from its fist. Sneviper just ducked down, allowing Electabuzz to accidentally strike Alex’s arm instead of Sneviper. Alex was sent back on a wall, holding his arm in agony. Sneviper turned back and saw his master hurt. Filled with anger, Sneviper just pounced right at Electabuzz and dug its fang into Electabuzz’s arm. Electabuzz screeched in agony as the fangs went deeper into its muscle. Kirilia then focused its mind again and slowly restrained Sneviper.

Kirilia slowly pulled Sneviper’s fangs off Electabuzz’s arm and threw it away. Electabuzz just rubbed its arm softly as it kneeled on one leg. Kirilia was about to heal Electabuzz, but the electric pokemon refused and just replied in its language to take care of Sneviper. Without hesitation, Kirilia got on its toes and went after Sneviper. Alex was still down holding his arm, Raphael walked up to him with Electabuzz by his side. Kirilia and Sarah were facing off against Sneviper. Raphael kneeled on one knee and saw the blood stains on Alex’s fingers.

“Now you see what we do to trespassers,” Raphael said,” We are dangerous, but not heartless. Let me see your wound.”

Raphael slowly pulled Alex’s hand away to see Alex’s arm. Raphael saw the grave wound continuously bleeding. He was about to take out a wrap from his pocket, but stopped when he saw a surprised expression at his pokemon’s face. Raphael looked at Alex’s wound once more and saw his arm slowly drain the blood and the cut slowly close. Raphael was completely stunned by this instant healing. Curious, Raphael pulled up Alex’s sleeve and saw the symbol Kyogre gave. Shocked by this symbol, Raphael turned to Sarah.

“Sarah stop!” Raphael yelled. Kirilia was slowly choking Sneviper with its psychic powers, but once it heard Raphael’s voice, it stopped. Sarah wasn’t surprised. She and Raphael would mostly allow trespassers to leave since they hardly returned. “Sarah he’s one of the chosen ones.”

***

Later that night, Alex was lying next to a camp fire with his Sneviper resting peacefully. Sarah and Kirilia were aiding both Alex and Sneviper while Raphael recalled his Electabuzz and was busy elsewhere. Sarah took out a kind of herbal potion from her pocket and handed it over to Alex.

“Uh sorry about that instant attack um…” Sarah said.

“Alex,” Alex replied,” Alexander De Torres.”

“Well Alex we’re really sorry for that attack,” Sarah said,” We don’t mean to harm anyone; we’re just overprotective in guarding this castle. We’re meant to hide the Emerald Eye and other various treasures from people. We’ve already lost several people from the past. We don’t want to lose our remains and way of life.”

“I’m guessing Mechtropolis really attracted Sub Sengi into changing into a big city,” Alex said.

“Yes it’s true,” Sarah said,” From above, Mechtropolis arrived with great machines that have overwhelmed the people and convinced them into making a new way of life. It’s quite sad really, adapting the way of Mechtropolis and abandoning the culture of their own civilization. Fortunately Raphael and I still remain in the Castle of the Forgotten Empire.”

“Castle of the Forgotten Empire?” Alex repeated,” Weird name.”

“Well Raphael and I have lost so much that we’ve forgotten the name of our world,” Sarah said,” Raphael was here longer than me, but still memories can fade or can be forgotten. Not knowing its true name or its actual reason for standing, we’ve decided to call it the Castle of the Forgotten Empire.”

“Ah good I see your awake,” Raphael said arriving to the fire,” Once again accept our apologies for our slightly rude attack against you. If we had known who you are from the beginning we would’ve just walked up to you.”

“Its okay,” Alex said,” I’m pretty used to this.”

“Well I have informed Skyler of your arrival here,” Raphael said,” He should arrive momentarily.”

“You know Skyler?” Alex asked.

“Yes,” Raphael replied,” He was the one who introduced us to one of our most dangerous and prized treasures, the Emerald Eye. We have hidden the eye deep in the direction of the Magma Mines. The Magma Mines are both treacherous and dangerous, fortunately if they even manage to find the eye and get out of the mines, they’ll have to get through us. It’s almost impossible to drill up, if they did, the ceiling would collapse on them. The mines lead up to the city. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a few other things I must attend to.”

Raphael soon disappeared from the light of the flames and back into the shadows of the night. Sarah sighed she leaned back on a wall. Alex and Sarah soon got bored after a while, staring at the fire or just lying down. Alex soon found the need to start a discussion with Sarah.

“Hey Sarah could I ask you a few things? Alex asked.

“Yeah sure,” Sarah blankly replied.

“Okay first of all why did you decide to stay here in Sub Sengi?” Alex asked,” I mean don’t get me wrong. It’s nice down here but back at the city it also looks great.”

“Well that’s because this isn’t Sengi,” Sarah explained,” Sengi is a world that prefers to stay in the sunlight. Sure they used to have several secrets but this world has more. If you wanted to find something interesting you should’ve checked at the end of the city, I heard that there were a few temples there. If this was Sengi, Raphael and I would’ve named it Sengi Castle or something like that.”

“Then what happened to all the people around here,” Alex asked with another question.

“Well we’re not very sure,” Sarah said,” Raphael told me that the city was attacked by a strange trainer and a few other soldiers. We lost several lives but soon a hero arose giving us hope and to fight against this army and send it back to the upper world. But as the soldiers discovered the upper world’s scenarios they decided to get their families and start a new in the upper world. But it wasn’t Sengi, by the time they had arisen; Mechtropolis already began to create towers nearby Sengi. I don’t know the name of the city but it’s located right above somewhere in the mines. It’s strange how they survived every trap they had placed.”

“Then why didn’t you and Raphael join?” Alex said.

“Well another thing was my parents were both dead when we were being attacked,” Sarah explained,” Raphael at first wasn’t feeling so well so he had to stay down here in the castle for a while. I was still young back then. I also helped him restore his strength. Raphael managed to regain his strength but was unable to return home.”

“Why’s that?” Alex asked.

“I’d prefer to keep those reasons between Sarah and myself,” Raphael said, instantly appearing behind Alex. Alex was a bit shocked when he heard and saw Raphael behind him. Raphael sat down next to the fire and threw some twigs into the blaze,” You both should get some sleep soon. Skyler will be arriving tomorrow since he’s in a meeting. Plus I sense that there are more trainers down here in the underground.”

Chapter 6
-------------
Problems
-------------

Later that night, Skyler was in a conference with the Xega Military Defense leader and other high ranking officers. The Xega Military Defense is a kind of special soldier created and approved by the Shinato councilors. They were created to combat any terrorist who tries to either destroy or threaten Xega. They have been around for quite a while and were the ones who helped defeat Lord Draco in his quest for destruction. The Xega Military Defense (XMD) leader was a woman named Shera. Shera was about twenty five years old. She had long blond hair, blue eyes and fair skin. Right now Skyler is trying to convince Shera to send out military forces to the Black Castle of Eternal Nightmares.

“Skyler you know very well none of us have the authority to just enter the X-Zone,” Shera said,” The X-Zone is a destructively dangerous place which only keeps deception and destruction.”

“But this is a major crisis to Xega,” Skyler replied,” If we don’t act soon Lord Draco will attack with swiftly and mercilessly.”

“You know as well as I do that we only the Shinato council could give us authority to enter the X-Zone,” Shera said,” They have been trying to keep the secret of the castle from all of Xega ever since the X-Zone was constructed. If we just go in with out proper permission we could cause all of Xega to have a mass mayhem and wide regional panic.”

“Then can’t you send a few of your officers to go there?” Skyler asked.

“Didn’t you hear what I said?” Shera asked,” The X-Zone is dangerous it would take more than a thousand men to at least survive a week there. If a thousand won’t be able to survive how do you expect less to?”

“I might have found one who would be able to,” Skyler responded,” But how can I get the Shinato council to give permission?”

“Well one of the high officials of any city must complain and demand to give permission,” Shera said,” That would get Shinato to give permission. The Shinato Council greatly feat of what the people of Xega might do if they didn’t do something of a crisis like this. But it’ll be quite difficult to find and even persuade a high official of the cities, they don’t have much faith in prophecies nor legends. They’ll need proof on what you tell them. It’s not that easy.”

“Hmm I’ll find one,” Skyler said,” Could you try and prepare your officers?”

“Okay that’s another problem we’ve encountered,” Shera said,” It seems that several officers that were guarding the Chromo Tower were killed and we’re losing a great number of ranks from two mysterious trainers who are destroying all defenses we have built in the region. To be honest, we don’t have a lot of officers to use or train aspiring officers.”

“It seems the whole subject is getting much more complicated than I predicted,” Skyler snarled,” We’ll need to do this quickly.”

The next day in the underground the Tenkos were trying to get through a type of graveyard steaming with mist, tombstones and several stone statues of soldiers. Seeing all this made Carla and Buster nervous. Hawk felt much more insecure we the area, he felt that there was something here he should know about that could mean trouble. They slowly moved ahead passing the strangely moist soil that covered the floor. They were all unaware that a few menacing red eyes were glaring right at them. Hawk looked ahead and saw that there was still a long way to go, it seemed like there was an endless fog filled road.

Carla and Hawk moved ahead while Buster stopped to inspect something. He heard a kind of whooshing noise from behind one of the stone statues. Curious Buster looked behind the statue and only saw mud and dull colored leaves. Buster then took a few steps back and looked right at the statue’s face. The eyes of the statue were made out of shining blue diamonds. As Buster continued to stare, a strange force began to mesmerize him.

As Carla and Hawk moved ahead, Carla began to notice that Buster wasn’t there. Hawk wanted to continue on, Carla sighed as she turned back to find Buster. They both then heard a great scream coming from Buster. Hawk and Carla instantly rushed at once to the spot where they heard the scream. They soon found Hawk moaning in fear and pain as he held his head and fell on his knees. Carla rushed up to see what was wrong.

“Buster what’s wrong with you?” Carla asked.

“Insane demon!” Buster yelled.

“Where?” Carla asked as she looked around.

“In front of you!” Buster answered as he covered his eyes and pointed in front,” Don’t you see it?”

Carla looked at the statue he pointed at. At first she didn’t understand, but as she glared at the diamond eyes, something just ticked in her mind making her see a frightful image. Carla began to scream as well as she fell back holding her head. Hawk went over and glared at the sapphire eyes as well. The eyes should’ve captured him, but he managed to slightly resist. He slowly grabbed his poke ball.

“You’re not taking me as well,” Hawk snarled as he released Scizor to the field,” Scizor destroy those eyes with fury cutter!”

Scizor shot out of the poke ball and released a mighty swing with its pincer right through the statue. At first it looked like nothing happened, but soon the upper half of the statue’s head slid off making the rest of the pieces and the diamond crumble away into pieces. Carla and Buster got up wondering what had happened to them. Hawk picked one shattered piece of the diamond and placed it in his pocket. Slowly appearing above the destroyed pieces of the statue was a menacing black orb with sharp looking eyes, fangs and a purple gas aura around it, a Gastly.

Scizor held its pincer right up to Gastly to release an attack, but the Gastly just gave a laugh as several other cackling noises entered the grave. Soon emerging from the ground were several other Gastly. Scizor took a few steps back to Hawk and soon the four of them found themselves surrounded by several ghosts. Carla popped out a poke ball and was about to release something, but Hawk held her arm telling her to stand down.

“This doesn’t seem right,” Hawk said,” A Gastly is very rare in Xega; there were no records that there could be several of these things in one place.”

“Aw I don’t get to fight anymore,” Carla complained,” Besides this could be something new. Plus there’s no time for strategic battling, we need to get out of here before we join them.”

“Just wait, got to pick the right one,” Hawk said as he scanned each Gastly. He then spotted a certain one,” Scizor go, strike down that one with aerial ace!”

Scizor locked on the Gastly Hawk saw and shot off like a jet right at it. All the other Gastly just floated and watched as Scizor flew past them. With one swift slash of its wing, Scizor struck down the Gastly, making all the others disappear from sight. Weakened, Hawk took out a poke ball and threw it right on its head. The ball shook for a while, then after a few seconds, the Gastly was restrained. Hawk picked up the Gastly and recalled Scizor. Carla and Buster walked next to Hawk. They were quite amazed how Hawk located the correct one. Normally they would see Hawk order his Scizor to brutally beat up every pokemon without thinking.

“So it used a double team attack to fool us,” Buster said,” but how did you know which one was the real one?”

“That Gastly wasn’t as transparent as others,” Hawk said.

“Hmm never thought of that,” Carla said,” Your name pretty much fits you since you have the eyes of a Hawk. We never knew you could do that. Where’d you learn that anyway?”

“I don’t know,” Hawk replied,” But come on we’ve got to keep moving if we want to get to the castle.”

“Castle?” Carla thought,” Man ever since we entered Sub Sengi, Hawk’s been acting weird.”

***

Meanwhile back in the castle, Alex released all his pokemon for fresh air. To Alex’s surprise, the Beldum he caught was actually Sarah’s strongest and friendliest pokemon. Seviper and Kirilia just glared at each other angrily, they both had the urge of fighting each other, but Alex and Sarah separated them before they had a battle. Alex was now sitting on a bench in front of one of the buildings petting and feeding Seviper, they were unaware that Sarah and her pokemon were watching him on one of the high towers.

“Something stirs your mind?” Raphael asked as he walked next to Sarah.

“Hmm?” Sarah murmured,” Oh Raphael it’s you.”

“You want to follow him don’t you?” Raphael asked.

“What do you mean by follow?” Sarah asked as she raised one eyebrow.

“You want to see the outside world,” Raphael replied,” I sensed it in you when he handed over Beldum back to you. Nothing’s holding you back to go up you know. You’re not a little kid anymore and I’m not your relative either.”

“Well you treat me like a sister,” Sarah chuckled as she looked up to Raphael,” You’re like a big brother to me.”

“Well even so it’s your life,” Raphael replied,” You can go if you want, I’ll just remain here, concealed from the world.”

“That’s actually the problem,” Sarah said as she looked down at Alex,” You don’t want to go back up. I don’t feel right just leaving you down here, you don’t live here. Don’t you think that you’ll probably be forgiven by your fellowmen?”

“I’ve done horrible sins that can be quite unforgivable,” Raphael replied,” I’ve done so much to destroy the region and I just realized my sins when they came.”

“But they have forgiven you,” Sarah said,” They even let you help them, if they forgave you, don’t you think the region will follow?”

“Doubt it,” Raphael grimly responded,” Several cities, councilor and even children of Xega were greatly suspicious about my when I helped them save the region from destruction. People even commented that I would betray them once more in the final battle. I’m sorry Sarah but this is where I belong and the upper world is where you belong. You shouldn’t waste your life just because of me. I even feel guilty that I’m the reason that you want to stay here.”

Raphael then turned away, letting Sarah think to herself for a while. It was true that she wanted to leave the castle, but considering all that she’s been through with Raphael and what he’s been through, she feels that he needs at least a person to commune with. She didn’t want him to waste his life in depression while she gains several new experiences. She was about to walk down from the tower until she heard several footsteps not far away. Looking out of the tower she saw the Tenkos wandering around.

“Okay it be best if we split up for a while,” Hawk said,” Carla, you and Buster check out that part of this place while I check it out over there.”

Carla nodded as Buster followed her. Sarah noticed that Hawk was heading towards Alex, but knowing that he was a chosen one, she decided maybe he would be able to handle him on his own. She soon exited the tower to go after Buster and Carla. She also expected Raphael to be there since he was more in tune with his senses than she was.

As Alex sat on the nearby bench, he heard footsteps calmly and slowly approaching him. Alex stood up and saw Hawk glaring right at him. Hawk gave a smug grin as he slowly took a few steps forward. Seviper raised its tail and hissed hastily at Hawk. But Hawk wasn’t even slightly intimidated by the black snake. Taking out a poke ball, he released Scizor to the field. Scizor released its wings and got into an offensive position.

“We never got a chance to battle each other before,” Hawk chuckled,” Now let’s do this.”

“Don’t get too cocky,” Alex said as he took one step back.

Hawk just replied with a grunt and leaned back on a wall. Without waiting any longer, Scizor flew right up to Seviper to deliver several powerful pincer attacks. Seviper managed to luckily dodge the first two strikes, but the third struck Seviper right on the nose, making it skid back a bit. Seviper slowly licked the small drop of blood from its nose as Scizor chuckled sinisterly. Seviper then raised its head and released a powerful smoking beam of flames from its mouth right at Scizor. Unfortunately Scizor was way too quick and it easily avoided the blasts of flames Seviper spat out. While flying, Scizor broke off a piece of rock from one of the buildings and threw it at Seviper.

Seviper easily slashed the rock in half by using its iron tail technique. As the rock shattered, Scizor came in and struck Seviper below the mouth, making it fly back to a wall. Seviper shook its head and hissed angrily. Scizor just gave a hearty laugh, thinking that Seviper was too weak. This insulted both Alex and Seviper. At first Alex gave a mean glare but he soon changed his expression to a grin. He then calmly stood up and buttoned the waist area of his coat. He then pulled his gloves lower and continued to smirk. Hawk began to wonder what he had in his mind.

“What’re you so happy about?” Hawk asked.

“You’ll see. Seviper remember when I told you we should start fighting less violently in official battles?” Alex asked. Seviper gave a grunting nod. “Well this isn’t an official battle. So that means do what you want.”

When Seviper heard that, it raised its head happily and turned to Scizor. Scizor began to wonder what Alex meant by blood bashing hard core. Seviper then slowly slithered around waiting for the right time to strike. Scizor didn’t wait for Seviper to do anything tricky, so it instantly sprung out to grab Seviper. But Seviper swiftly dodged low and bit its mid section. Even for a metal type this had to hurt. Scizor kneeled down moaning in pain while Seviper laughed. Hawk slapped his head and was unable to believe what just happened.

Scizor instantly recovered and glared angrily at Seviper who just waved its tail at Scizor. Scizor then lifted off and flew directly to slice it with its claws. But before Scizor could strike him, Seviper flipped over Scizor and slashed its tail right on its back. Scizor slammed right on the ground and glared angrily at Seviper. Seviper lowered its head and flicked its tongue. Scizor then closed its wings and placed its legs straight together. Without much hesitation, Scizor safely grinned and snapped one pincer at Seviper.

Feeling the urge to continue, Seviper sprung forward with its tail ready to lash right on Scizor. But before its tail could land, Scizor stepped aside and stamped its foot right on its tail and flipped behind it. Seviper then turned around and swung its tail at Scizor, but the bug pokemon opened its pincer and caught the blade easily. Scizor then lifted the black snake around and around then finally threw it away. Seviper crashed into one of the buildings feeling a great deal of pain. The black snake slowly opened its eyes only to see Scizor flying like a jet towards it.

Barely able to move, Seviper made a desperate attack by releasing a squirt of dark purple acid from its tongue right at Scizor. Scizor was caught off guard and was easily blinded by the painful burning acid attack. Seeing a perfect chance to strike, Seviper took a deep breath and released a great burning blast of orange flames from its mouth. As soon as Scizor rubbed the acid off, the flames completely engulfed Scizor. The insect fell back in pain with black burns covering its red plated body. Scizor panted heavily on one knee as Seviper got off the wall to attack again.

“You should try training your Scizor a bit harder,” Alex said,” It’s got untapped potential.”

“Are you saying I don’t train my pokemon well?!” Hawk asked.

“Wait no! That’s not what I meant!” Alex said, trying to respond.

“Oh you’ll see what I can do,” Hawk said,” Scizor you okay?” Scizor just got on its feet and slowly nodded. “Good, let’s end this. Gastly will be there to…”

But before Hawk could finish or release Gastly, something exploded from nearby. Buster and his Flareon were on the ground, while Carla was trying to retreat with her fainted pokemon in her poke ball. Sarah appeared from one of the buildings with Beldum beside her. She looked down at Carla and Buster then at Hawk and Alex.

“Did I miss much?” Sarah asked,” Weird that Raphael wasn’t here to help out. Anyways more fun for me.”

“Is that so?” a voice asked from behind.

As soon as Sarah heard the voice she turned around. A great blast of energy descended from one of the towers and down to her. Beldum then came in front and released a powerful barrier around them. The barrier was unfortunately not strong enough to hold back the blast. Sarah and Beldum were both sent flying down onto a building wall. Alex and Hawk looked up to see who attacked Sarah. To both their surprise, Tim appeared out of the shadows with a pair of menacing eyes hiding in the black shadow. Tim recalled his pokemon without revealing what it was.

“I see that you have found the underground castle I’ve researched on for several years,” Tim said,” Funny that you have replaced its real name with Castle of the Forgotten Empire. Anyways, Tenkos now is the time to obtain the emerald. I have found its location, but need muscle to pull it out. Now just forget about these two and enter the mines.”

As Tim finished his sentence, he heard a buzzing electrical grunt coming from behind. Turning around, Electabuzz came in a jabbed its fist with a great blast of electricity at Tim. It looked as if Tim was about to get punched and shocked, but Tim just grabbed both Electabuzz’s arms with ease and tossed it on one of the rooftops as if it were just a ragged doll. Tim then back flipped off the tower and safely landed on a building. Raphael appeared in the tower and glared at the Tenkos then to Tim.

“Timothy what’re you doing here?” Raphael asked.

“I haven’t heard anyone call me my full name for quite a while now,” Tim replied with a small chuckle,” Isn’t it obvious? I’m here for the Emerald Eye that Lord Draco wants so dearly.”

“What makes you think you’ll be able to get it?” Raphael asked,” It’s guarded and well kept deep within the mines.”

“Who said that I’ll be the one getting it?” Tim asked,” Hawk and his Tenkos will get it for me.”

“Hawk is your new apprentice?” Raphael asked as he looked down at Hawk,” That’s very disappointing. But nevertheless I’ll never let murderers like you obtain the emerald.”

“Such bold words for the first one who stole it,” Tim smirked. Raphael’s eyes widened a bit when he heard what Tim had said,” You maybe the first one who stole it, but I’m still a higher ranking officer than you. Tenkos get going!”

Tim raised his arm in the air, very soon everything went dim and the whole underground was covered with complete darkness. Everybody, except Tim, was blinded by the darkness. There was a small spark of light and sound when Hawk and Buster recalled their pokemon. They then also heard a swift flying movement along with the Tenkos making surprised expressions. As the light flashed back, the Tenkos and Tim were gone. Sarah got up and was about to recall Beldum, but before she could a great shadow began to fall upon her.

She turned around and with her shock; one of the giant towers was about crush her. As the tower got closer, she crouched down and covered her face. But to her surprise only small pieces of stone and dust touched her. It seems that the tower was caught by a powerful psychic energy. At first Sarah thought it was Kirilia or Beldum, but when she looked at both of them, they were as surprised as she was.

“You okay?” a familiar voice asked.

Appearing on the streets was Skyler and his Abra, who displayed great psychic energy with just using its mind to hold the tower. Abra slowly pushed it back up to its rightful position. Sarah gave a sigh of relief while Alex rushed up to Skyler.

“Hmm you make good timing,” Alex said as Seviper slithered next to him.

“I presume you heard and saw what happened?” Raphael asked as he placed his weakened Electabuzz on his belt.

“Things have gotten much more complex than imagined,” Skyler said,” I tried to contact the XMD but well you know that they would prefer going through several procedures. They need a permission from Shinato to enter the district of the Castle and they’re also having problems with Miasma apparently. She’s managed to attack and get rid of several soldiers in Xega. But for starters we’ll have to stop them ourselves.”

“The mines are difficult to cross,” Raphael said,” I doubt that they’ll be able to make it through.”

“Don’t underestimate Tim,” Skyler said,” You know very well what he and Hawk are capable of. We should leave immediately; we cannot allow them to pull out the Emerald from the mines.”

“Um question,” Sarah asked just popping out of nowhere,” How’ll we get through? The Raphael said the mines are dangerous.”

“I’ve studied what would happen,” Skyler replied,” We’ll be safe as long as you follow what I tell you. Alex this is quite dangerous and you don’t have proper experience for this kind of journey. Do you want to join us?”

“Of course!” Alex said without hesitation,” I have a score to settle with Tim anyways.”

“You’re pretty spunky,” Sarah chuckled,” I like that.”

“Then it’s settled,” Skyler said,” We’ll leave later this afternoon.”

Yeah I know, I'd probably request for a banner, but I have some problems with entering some sites like Photobucket or Imageshack. The only art website I can probably go to would be devianart. Anyways here's the next chapter. Please read and review, enjoy...

Chapter 7
-------------
An infection
-------------

In the magma mines, Alex, Skyler, Raphael and Sarah just took a first step into the mines. But for some reason, the mines looked very different to Raphael. He remembered the mines to be filled with hills of rocks, waterfalls and streams of magma and millions of hidden traps that can’t be seen. Plus there would be a few several diamonds sticking out of the burning rock walls. But now it seems that the magma has gone out of flow. Streams and waterfalls were destroyed, allowing the magma to move freely across the area and every trap was destroyed by force or by the flowing lava. Plus several of the diamonds were removed and shattered to pieces. To make it more disturbing there was a flow of blood on the floor.

“What happened here?” Raphael asked,” I don’t remember seeing all this last time I came here. I also don’t recall there being anybody else down here, this blood’s been dry from long ago, about three days old.”

“This is peculiar,” Skyler admitted,” It seems Timothy created a kind of blood path for us. For the least serious of all the generals, Timothy can be quite the most hostile of them all.”

“Hey Raphael, about that story Sarah told me about the other night,” Alex said,” I maybe jumping to conclusions, but were you one of Draco’s generals? I’m still new to most things here in Xega but I don’t think there were several wars in the last few years.”

“Those are things that I prefer to keep to myself,” Raphael replied.

“Aw come on,” Alex said,” While we’re here, we should at least listen to a good story.”

When Raphael heard Alex comment it as a story, he gave Alex a cold stare. Sarah didn’t like where this was going. “Hey Skyler don’t you think we should split up for a while?” Sarah asked,” You know for various reasons.”

“Good idea,” Skyler said,” Raphael, you and Sarah move ahead and try to find clues on what did this to the area.”

Raphael just gave a calm nod and walked away. Sarah gave a sigh of relief as she followed Raphael. As soon as Raphael and Sarah had left, Alex turned to Skyler. “Sheesh what’s with him?” Alex asked.

“For a former champion you don’t know much,” Skyler replied.

“What’re you talking about?” Alex asked,” I know a lot, especially about pokemon.”

“That’s probably your problem,” Skyler answered,” You know much about pokemon, but what about people? Raphael was pretty upset when you called his past life a story. Even though it is one, he just dislikes it when someone just calls it as a plain story people would normally listen to. Sarah and I have known Raphael for long; his past life is quite depressing and difficult. He sometimes sheds tears when he remembers a part of it.”

“If he hates his past life so much why doesn’t he just leave it behind or talk to someone who could help him?” Alex asked.

“Well Raphael has lost so much that he doesn’t want to even lose tearful memories,” Skyler responded,” He still has Sarah, but sooner or later she’ll probably have to leave him. Raphael often insists that she leaves him since she has a bigger future than him. If she ever leaves, he’ll have no one to stay beside with. He’ll be left alone and all he’ll be able to do is look back at his past. He can’t just emerge to the surface and go to friends or family. He has been one of Xega’s most hated trainers of all. I doubt that there are lots of people who have forgiven him. So please understand that you can’t just go bugging into other people’s personal affairs and lives.”

“I see,” Alex bleakly said.

“Good,” Skyler said as he crouched down to take a look at the crushed diamonds,” Now move ahead and find Raphael and Sarah. I have a few things to finish here.”

Meanwhile in city of Shinato, a great fire had just combusted in one of the central areas of the city. Several fire trucks, ambulances and police cars arrived to the area to help the people who were in the explosion. Shera saw everything clearly in her dark office. The lights and curtains were shut. Shera managed to see the explosion in a giant screen that monitored all of Shinato. The screen was probably the only thing that gave light to the dim room. Shera gave a deep sigh as she switched off the screen and lowered her head.

As she sighed, two ID cards of two XMD units were thrown on her desk. The ID cards were stained with dry blood; Shera slowly looked up to see who tossed them. But as soon as she raised her head, she saw a club pointing right at her. Miasma and her Marowak were in the room alone with Shera. Shera however wasn’t threatened or one bit intimidated by Miasma’s sudden intrusion.

“What’re you doing here?” Shera asked, not sounding very pleased.

“I’m here for a little business,” Miasma replied,” As you well know, Skyler has probably asked help from you.”

“I was unable to carry out his request,” Shera interrupted,” We need permission from Shinato council, plus I believe that the XMD can take on whatever you freaks would throw at us.”

“Freaks you say?” Miasma said as she walked around the room,” Is it freakish to gain super unnatural abilities to do what is necessary for this region and possibly the world? Is it freakish to do anything necessary to save countless lives? You and the XMD are worthless guardians who only protect and defend when ordered to. You follow several regulations and never break rules for the sake of lives.”

“What’re you talking about?” Shera asked,” You killed all my men in the Chromo Tower, how can you call yourself guardians?”

“We’re neither guardians nor destroyers,” Miasma replied,” Well back to the topic, Skyler asked for your help but you denied, that’s good on my master’s account. But he still brought out parasite to out plans, because of this single parasite, my sister and her boyfriend has now been included in this.”

“I’m guessing you want me to get rid of them then,” Shera said,” I’ll do it, it’s an easy job. I’ll get rid of them, as soon as my forces wipe you and your companions out of life.”

“Don’t underestimate us,” Miasma said,” But I come with an opportunity for you, an opportunity to stand a small chance against us.” Miasma then pulled out a folder with several documents of Alex and his previous life. Shera took a look at it and was surprised to see how powerful of a trainer Alex was. She was even more shocked when she saw Sneviper and all the victories it had. After looking through the documents, she found a sheet, a sign up sheet.

“You want me to sign him in?” Shera asked,” Why? Are you beginning to reconsider your alliance?”

“No I’m still on the same side,” Miasma said,” But there are opportunities for both you and my master.”

“What makes you think I’ll just sign this Alexander up?” Shera asked,” I need actual proof; I need to see him in combat. I can’t just sign him up without seeing what he can do. I mean this document could just be another fake.”

Miasma gave a chuckled as she opened the curtains of the room. Suddenly a greater explosion occurred in the area where there was a fire. Shera got up and looked at the explosion. The explosion was so great that several buildings nearby were affected as well. “Your city is in trouble Shera,” Miasma said,” Are you sure that you still need proof?”

“If this kid’s as tough as your documents state, you’ll be finished,” Shera replied.

“Then what have you got to lose?” Miasma smirked as she pulled out a pen.

“You’re up to something Miasma,” Shera said as she began to sign the sheet,” Whatever it is, you’ll never succeed.”

“Don’t get your hopes up,” Miasma chuckled as she left the room.

As Miasma left, Shera frowned for a moment then looked back outside at Shinato, the fire was still large and it looked like there were more lives that are going to be taken.

Back in the underground, Alex was just resting for a while. He leaned back on the wall and panted heavily after looking around for Raphael and Sarah. It had already been two hours and he still wasn’t able to find them. By the looks of it he was reaching halfway through the tunnel. But as he leaned on the wall, Alex felt a strong vibration on the ground and on the walls. He saw the stones on the ground shaking swiftly. He felt the vibration getting stronger and stronger and soon he heard a few rumbling noises. But after a while the rumbling and the vibration stopped.

Alex almost thought it was over, but remembering the great force that first part of the underground, Alex stood up and tried to make a run for it. But before he could escape, four long tentacles emerged out of the wall behind him and squeezed him right on the wall. Alex struggled to get free but the tentacles continued to pressure him against the wall. He was beginning to lose breath, but all of a sudden, Electabuzz came in and delivered a powerful electrical surge right on the tentacles. A screeching voice was heard as the tentacles released Alex and slid back into the walls. Alex fell on his knees panting heavily. Sarah soon arrived and helped Alex up to Raphael and Electabuzz.

“Hey Alex, you alright?” Raphael asked.

“Yeah thanks,” Alex replied,” Oh yeah, Raphael about what happened a while ago…”

“Don’t worry,” Raphael said,” I can easily forgive.”

There chat was soon interrupted by a great explosion from the wall, where the tentacles emerged. Rocks soon crumbled to gravel while clouds of smoke and dust shrouded that area a bit. Skyler then arrived just in time to meet up with Alex and the others. “What’s going on?” Skyler asked.

“Alex was attacked by that thing!” Sarah pointed. Skyler turned to the wall and saw a pair of menacing eyes.

“Skyler what is that?” Raphael asked.

“I can’t believe it,” Skyler said,” I never expected a pokemon like this to actually join Lord Draco’s war. This pokemon is formed from a space virus struck but a laser, people know very little about it. But it is know that it’s powerful because of its psychic abilities and amazing status changing abilities. It seems Timothy has summoned a powerful pokemon to his cause, the great DNA pokemon, Deoxys.”

Alex, Sarah and Raphael turned to hole with shock. Deoxys soon emerged, looking very deadly. Deoxys was a virus pokemon that had the ability to change from its normal form into either attack, defense or speed form. In its normal form, Deoxys had a red body, pointed red legs green arms that are partly red, expressionless looking eyes and a purple orb on its chest. Alex slowly stood up and released Sneviper, while Sarah released Beldum and Kirilia and Skyler took out Abra.

Deoxys gave a blank stare as it spread out its arms. Slowly the red and green parts of its arms separated to make two long green tentacles and two long red tentacles. The shape of its head and its knees became sharper as well. This was its attack mode, all its opposing pokemon got ready to attack, but Deoxys made the first move. The DNA pokemon unleashed its tentacles and slapped Kirilia, Beldum and Sarah back. Electabuzz then came forth and released a powerful electrical punch right at Deoxys, but as soon as Electabuzz struck Deoxys, it looked as if it were unaffected.

To Electabuzz’s amazement, Deoxys had already transformed into its defense mode. In its defense mode, Deoxys was shorter and much rounder. Its arms were still apart but flatter and its knees were much rounder than sharper. Deoxys then grabbed Electabuzz and easily threw it away right towards Raphael. Deoxys then focused its attention to Sneviper and Alex.

“Sneviper attack with glare!” Alex ordered.

Sneviper’s eyes shined a bright yellow color and looked directly at Deoxys’s eyes, but as soon as the shining golden color touched Deoxys’s eyes, the DNA pokemon vanished. Deoxys began to move the underground, leaving a trail of white energy behind. Sneviper was unable to aim at Sneviper. Deoxys was way too fast. As soon as Deoxys got near to strike Sneviper down, Skyler and Abra came in and blocked. Deoxys struck a powerful psychic barrier that almost seemed unbreakable. Alex managed to get a glimpse of Deoxys’s speed form. Deoxys now looked much slimmer and instead of having four tentacles, it had one green one on the left and a red one on its right. Its head looked a bit like an arrow.

Deoxys then backed off, knowing it wouldn’t be able to destroy the barrier in its speed mode. Taking a few steps backwards it morphed itself into its attack form and began to create a cotillion of shining purple energy in its orb. After a few seconds, Deoxys unleashed a powerful laser from its orb right towards the barrier. Abra held its palm up, hoping that it would be able to block the barrier. But as the laser touched, the barrier already began to crack. Skyler then looked down at Alex.

“Alex get out of here!” Skyler yelled.

Alex nodded and tried to escape, but before Alex could even take a step away, the barrier shattered and created a mighty explosion in front of Skyler and Abra. Alex and Sneviper were shot into a wall while Skyler and Abra lay badly hurt on the floor. Deoxys slowly walked up towards Alex, who was down. It noticed that Skyler and Abra were still conscious but ignored them both. Alex slowly got up and looked right at Deoxys. Sneviper was conscious but was too weak to move. Deoxys then raised its tentacles and lashed them out right towards Alex. Alex closed his eyes and got ready for the worst.

Alex heard the whooshing sound of the tentacle, but as it came closer to him, the tentacle slipped and struck the wall instead. Alex opened his eyes to see what had happened. Deoxys was on his knees, Skyler managed to amazingly slap Deoxys’s leg and make it lose balance. Angered by this interruption, Deoxys recalled its tentacle and slashed it right on Skyler’s mask. The slash was so powerful it managed to swipe right through the mask, giving Skyler a bleeding cut. Skyler roared in pain as his mask flew away. He held his bleeding face and slowly got up. Deoxys and Alex were stunned that Skyler just stood up.

“You’ll be punished!” Skyler yelled. He raised his hand and placed it on Deoxys’s face. Deoxys began to screech in pain as it tried to get Skyler off by delivering several lash attacks all over Skyler’s body. But no matter how many cuts and lashes Skyler got, he never let go off his hand. Skyler then began to push Deoxys over a magma cliff. Deoxys tried to fly away, but for some reason its ability to fly was disabled. Skyler pressed harder on Deoxys’s face, Deoxys tried to switch into defense mode but its transformation ability was disabled as well. Finally Deoxys reached the edge of the magma cliff. Without hesitation, Skyler removed his other hand from his face and unleashed an electrical surge on Deoxys, pushing it over. Alex got up stunned with what Skyler was able to do.

“Skyler are you okay?” Alex asked,” How did you do that?”

Skyler panted for a while then stood up straight to face Alex. As soon as Alex was about to see his face, Deoxys’s long tentacles once again emerged and covered his face, arms and right leg. Unable to move or do anything, Skyler plunged over the edge with Deoxys.

“SKYLER!” Alex screamed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay if there's a problem with describing Deoxys then I'm not suprised. I was kind of having trouble with describing it. For some reason I feel as if there's a flaw in this chapter (The plot, not the grammar or spelling, etc.)...
Emerald Shinigami
Finally a fiction who can do something good and not forget about the other qualities. Good sense of diolouge and description; the only thing that's bad is the occasional spelling error, but that's still good.
What did I tell you about this? And also the second one should deoxys.
Great chapter and you finally got another reviewer even though she is banned.
Thanks for the posts guys. Really sorry about the Seviper spelling. I'm just used to spelling it Sneviper plus I was typing really quickly so it easily slipped my mind. Don't think that's realy a good excuse, but anywho, what do you mean by the second one should deoxys? Well here's the next chap, please read and review. Enjoy...
Chapter 8
------------
Nearing the end
-----------
Alex, fell to his knees when he saw the sudden loss of Skyler. He pounded the ground angrily until his hand began to bleed, he was upset because he was the holder of the symbol of life and yet he was unable to save one. He was unaware that he was being watched from above by a mysterious figure hiding in the shadows. The figure had only one eye that shined a blue color. The figure saw everything that occurred, but wasn’t very depressed. The figure just turned away and whispered to herself,” This isn’t right.”
Back Below, Raphael and Sarah had just gotten up from the attack Deoxys had done. There pokemon weren’t critically damaged, but they needed rest after experiencing a face to face confrontation with an intergalactic pokemon like that. Sarah placed her hand on Alex’s shoulder when she saw how he punched the ground over and over. Raphael walked over to the part where Skyler fell off, then looked up to where the mysterious figure was. Raphael frowned and sensed something was wrong with the scene. With one final grunt, he turned around to help Alex.
Later that day, Alex and Sarah were resting in front of a camp fire, while Raphael was once again by himself thinking about something. Sarah was busy wrapping both Alex’s hands with a cloth and rubbing an ointment around his hands. It looked as if he lost more blood from pounding his hands rather than getting struck by Deoxys. Seviper slept peacefully next to Alex while Kirilia and Beldum were just warming themselves. Even though they were underground, it was a bit cold, much colder than from above. Alex looked around and noticed it wasn’t really different from the other caves he’s been through, except for the spills of blood, the unstable flows of magma and destroyed traps. Not wanting Alex to get some sort of depression because of his failure in not being able to save Skyler, she was compelled to talk to him.
“So I guess you’re probably wondering why it’s cold down here,” Sarah said, Alex just glared blankly at the flames,” Well you’ve probably noticed that there are several diamonds down here in the underground. Well the diamonds in the underground release a kind of power that makes it cold. We haven’t really studied it, but we are certain that that’s the reason why it’s cold down here.”
But Alex just continued to stare blankly at the flames. Sarah sighed, hoping that he wouldn’t stay like this. Alex then turned to Sarah. “Sorry about not listening,” Alex said,” I just don’t feel comfortable when Skyler just plummeted to his doom. I mean I was supposed to protect people because I was chosen by Kyogre, but this doesn’t look like a really good start for me.”
“I understand,” Sarah replied,” But there was good in this, Skyler sacrificed himself for you to continue what you must do and for that you should be grateful. You shouldn’t just mourn over one loss. There are several things you must consider in this situation. Like if you fail you learn and also by gaining failure you could gain determination. We all have a place in this world and we all have a purpose to fulfill. For Skyler, he has already fulfilled his, to keep you alive.”
“I guess you’re right,” Alex replied. He gave a deep sigh and lied back. But as he was about to relax, he heard a grunting noise coming close. Alex and Sarah got ready for what ever would come out. Slowly appearing out of the shadows was Abra, who was still bruised badly from the battle it had with Deoxys. Alex rushed over to it and carefully carried it in his arms,” Abra, you okay?”
Abra weakly nodded as it slowly held up the old egg Skyler kept with him. Alex took the egg then turned to Abra,” Hey Abra, since Skyler’s gone, how about you stay with me until we can find you a good owner?” Alex asked. Abra gave a weak smile and nodded. Alex then sat back down and lay Abra down next to Seviper. Back on the top, Raphael continued to ponder about how Skyler died. He kept thinking that it wasn’t possible for Skyler to die nor to be alive. But as he thought, he saw a figure slowly sneaking up towards their area. Raphael went off the rock to see who was stalking them.
The Underground was dark and because of several destroyed diamonds, the light was quite insufficient to see well, but the cold breeze was fine. Raphael slowly stood behind a boulder and heard some movement. He poked his head out off the rock and saw the shadow instantly move away from his sight and away. Raphael scratched his chin and slowly moved to where the shadow was. But as he left his position, another figure appeared behind him and tried to move towards Alex and Sarah. But before the figure could, Electabuzz just came in and slammed the figure on the wall. Electabuzz sparked its antennae to reveal the face of the stalker. It revealed to be Buster who was terribly hurt all over. Raphael came over to ask why he was here.
But before he could ask, he felt something sharp behind him. “Don’t even look back,” the voice was recognized as Carla’s. Her pokemon was a Skamory. Skamory is a metal bird pokemon with a metal plated body, red feathers on its wings, one thick metal feather on its tail and was pretty much the size of an ostrich. “We’ve been having quite a rough time; we want to talk with the kid who messed with Hawk.”
“The name’s Alex,” Alex said from behind. Carla looked around and to her surprise she was already surrounded by Alex, Sarah and their pokemon. Skamory and Carla had no choice but to stand down. Later, Carla and Buster were both tied up. The two struggled to get free but the ropes were too tight and Seviper was ready to act if they got free.
“So what do you want to talk to me about?” Alex asked.
“We’re here for a little truce,” Buster said,” You see the Tenkos need your help.”
“When you mean Tenkos, are you asking we help Timothy as well?” Raphael suspiciously asked.
“Hell no!” Carla cried,” By all means you can beat the living crud out of Tim, he’s the reason why we’re beaten up like this!”
“Explain,” Alex said.
“Well after we left you to follow Tim to the Eye, Tim ordered us to keep guard from you guys while Hawk went with him,” Buster explained,” Well we waited and waited, but after waiting for a while, something happened. You’ve probably noticed that there were diamonds that were destroyed, but suddenly the diamonds shined and overloaded, eventually exploding.”
“So?” Sarah asked,” We already know about that, Deoxys was the one who broke all these diamonds and caused mass destruction all over the mines.”
“Will you let me finish?!” Buster yelled,” And for your information, the thing wasn’t the reason why the diamonds exploded. While we waited for a while, the diamonds burst rapidly, we began to wonder what was going on, when Tim arrived to the scene, the diamonds completely overloaded and exploded. The closer he got to them, the faster they were destroyed. We had no idea what was going on, when we asked where Hawk was, he answered that we were just heavy weight for him. Of course we didn’t take that very lightly so we began to argue with him.”
“But that was our biggest mistake yet,” Carla continued,” When we argued with him, he explained that Hawk carries much more talent than we know. He also explained that he only wants Hawk and that our services were not needed. We didn’t like where this was going so we decided to teach him a lesson in a battle. But when we took out Flareon and Skamory, a giant shadow loomed above him, intimidating both our pokemon. He explained that it was our replacement and it will be the one guarding the area instead of us. We tried to fight it, but we didn’t do very well. We tried using heavy attacks but its defense was too powerful. We tried to use defensive attacks and strike when it strikes, but its attack just got through and finally we tried to tire it our by outrunning it, but it was too fast and soon Skamory and Flareon were the ones who got whipped.”
“And you can make us believe this how?” Sarah asked,” I mean you two are Hawk’s friends and have chosen to work with Tim. What makes you think we’ll just believe what you say?”
“Look we’re trying to help you,” Buster snarled,” If you want your butts to be handed later then that’s fine. But even though we want to try and prove to Tim that we should remain with Hawk, we’d probably get roasted in the end. So think about it, why would we have all these serious scars that are so not fake that if you touch it, you’ll actually feel one of our veins!”
“I’ve been tricked over and over again by rivals and enemies,” Alex replied, not sounding convinced,” But I think they’re telling the truth.”
Sarah and Raphael both looked at Alex with a spark of surprise in their eyes. Alex was about to untie them, but before he could there was a mighty quake that rumbled the whole area, even Sub Sengi. The flames of the area died away as the diamonds began to shine so bright that it sparked most places in the cave. Alex almost lost balance, while Buster and Carla both panicked while desperately trying to get free.
“What’s going on?!” Alex asked, sounding shaky.
Deeper in the underground, Hawk was already raiding the temple alone. Scizor and Hawk were facing a three remaining Gravelar who were trying to stop Hawk from entering the temple doors. Gravelar were rock pokemon with four arms and big bodies that were made entirely out of rock. Scizor crossed its arms for a moment then with one step forward; it dashed right towards one of the Gravelar. The heavy rock pokemon were unable to see Scizor’s swift attack and soon, one Gravelar was easily knocked into the stairways. One of the Gravelar clenched all its four fists and went ramming towards Scizor.
Scizor made one quick turn and delivered a powerful heavy iron claw attack at Gravelar. The rock pokemon was struck on the chest and fell on the ground, completely knocked out. Scizor looked around for the remaining Gravelar, but it looked nowhere to be found. Then soon, the same mighty quake that occurred with Alex and co happened again. Scizor opened its wings and hovered to avoid any sneaky digging attacks that the Gravelar might use. But instead from attacking from the bottom, the Gravelar appeared from above and punched its elbow on Scizor’s back. Scizor fell to its knees and closed its wings, the Gravelar then carried a giant boulder from the ground and was about to drop it above Scizor.
Scizor was hurt but not out. It slowly got up and opened its pincers. Soon, Scizor created several swift slashes against Gravelar. Gravelar just stood there dumbstruck by the powerful but rapid attack Scizor had just displayed. The boulder above Gravelar broke apart and soon, the colossal rock pokemon fell in front of Scizor’s feet. Scizor panted heavily from this rather long battle. Hawk gave a smirk and recalled it back to its ball.
“Okay guys let’s go,” Hawk said. But he noticed that there was no one there. He looked around and wasn’t able to find Carla, Buster not even Tim,” Hey Buster? Carla? Tim? Where are you guys?!”
“Don’t worry Hawk, I’m here,” Tim answered, appearing from the darkness of the shadows. Tim looked at him from top to bottom and noticed that his clothes were a tad burnt but his body didn’t look even touched by a bit of ash.
“What happened to you? And where’s Buster and Carla?” Hawk asked, sound suspicious.
“Oh me, I just had a little accident with my pokemon,” Tim smiled,” As for Carla and Buster, I sent them to finish off to finish off Skyler and his friends, I even showed them a little surprise I had. They were so shocked by my surprise that you could say they were knocked down dead.”
“You’re really, REALLY weird,” Hawk said,” Anyways Scizor cleared out all the Gravelar from this area. I’m guessing go in.”
“Correct,” Tim smirked as he began to walk up the stairs.
“Shouldn’t we wait for Carla and Buster?” Hawk asked.
Tim stopped for a while then looked back at Hawk. “We must make haste,” Tim replied,” We must not keep Lord Draco waiting for the prize that he’s been wanting to get his hands on for a long time.”
Suddenly something struck Hawk’s mind when Tim mentioned that. But Hawk shook his head and began to follow Tim, as he took one step on the stairs, another thing struck his mind. Hawk began to rub his head, feeling a bit dizzy. Tim noticed this and was looking a bit worried about Hawk’s condition. “Hawk, are you alright?” Tim asked,” You look a bit tired?”
“Huh? No I’m fine,” Hawk replied as he rushed up to the stairs,” Come on let’s just get on with this.”
Hawk walked up to the colossal marble door which looked like it could only be opened by force, but Hawk saw that there was a way to get in. Hawk found a kind of golden gear that was needed to be turned. He slowly turned the gear three times to the right then once to the left. He pressed the gear in and soon a kind of golden medallion opened from the center of the gate. Hawk slowly broke the medallion in two and took a few steps back. Soon the giant marble gate began to slowly open. As the gates were wide enough, Hawk entered the temple without much caution.
When Tim saw Hawk manage to open the gate he gave a sinister smirk and said to himself,” Young Hawk’s remembering much. This is going according to what Skyler has predicted. His predictions are always true and they can never be reversed.” Giving a soft chuckle, Tim followed Hawk into the temple to find the Emerald Eye.
Inside the temple, everything looked shiny and nice. There were a few pure golden Celebi statues standing on the sides while the walls and floors were made out of the finest marble, stone and wood. On the ceiling was a magnificent painting of Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza surrounding a castle. Hawk was at awe when he saw how nice everything looked, it was if the temple was still homed to people. Tim then turned around and sensed Alex’s arrival, but gave a smirk for he had something planned already.
Soon, Alex and co had reached the temple gates and were passing through several beaten up Gravelar. Carla and Buster were released but were under a close eye by both Sarah and Raphael. As they entered the gates, Alex felt the same vibration, he felt when Deoxys was nearby. Being a bit cautious he took a few steps around to make sure that no surprises would just occur. But soon Alex and co had one of the biggest shocks ever. The whole place began to tremble like mad, it looked also as if the whole cave was going to collapse. Buster and Carla began to panic once more and ran in quickly into the temple for cover. Then all of a sudden an earthquake began to occur in the underground.
Raphael and Sarah managed to stay stable, but the temple instantly rose to the top. Raphael and Sarah looked up with amazement and never actually saw thought anything like this would happen. The temple rose up to the sky, higher than any of the buildings of Xega. The temple was small, but holding it up to the sky was a colossal rock monument of Celebi. The monument looked so perfect, it had very amazing detail and didn’t even crumble a bit. On the temple, the floor around the structure began to crumble, Alex made a run for it and leapt onto the stairs before he could plummet into earth. He held on tight to the edge of the stairs, but didn’t know how long he was able to hold on.
Very soon, his hands let go, but he didn’t fall. He looked above and saw Buster and Carla trying to help him up. The two slowly pulled him up and panted heavily from exhaustion and panic. Alex was also exhausted, but managed to give both Carla and Buster a smile. “I knew I was right to trust you both,” Alex smiled.
“Of course,” Carla said,” We’d never allow people to just die without a reason, Hawk taught us that.”
“Well let’s see if we can change Hawk’s mind about helping Tim,” Alex said as he stood up,” Let’s go!”
Carla and Buster nodded as they followed Alex into the temple. Back down, Raphael and Carla climbed out of the underground and were both able to get a glimpse of the warm descending sun. Sarah’s eyes gleamed with amazement when she finally saw the surface, Raphael was almost in tears when he saw the sun. It’s been so long that he nearly forgot that there was even a sun. But soon their joy ended when they heard footsteps walking towards them. They both turned around only to see a very upset Hawk.
“You guys are really getting on our nerves,” Hawk said,” It’s time that I ended this so I can just get out of this dustbowl of a sector. There might already be several people moving in our territory in Sengi.”
“Hawk don’t you understand that you’re being manipulated?” Raphael asked,” You have to stop this!”
“Oh it stops here,” Hawk replied as he got Scizor’s poke ball,” I’ll make sure the two of you will never see the light again!”
“What has happened to you Hawk?” Raphael asked,” You’re not the Hawk I once fought with. But if anything is necessary from Tim achieving the Eye, then so be it.”
Raphael took out his poke ball, while Sarah took out both. Very soon, Kirilia, Beldum and Electabuzz sprung out of their poke balls and into the battle field. Seeing that he was a bit outnumbered, Hawk took out his other pokemon to assist Scizor. Very soon, Scizor and Gastly entered the arena. The three trainers stared at each other for a while, but soon, Hawk was able to make the first move. Scizor came in with a speeding fury cutter at Kirilia while Gastly unleashed a shadow ball at Beldum…
Chapter 9
------------
Tim's final stand?
------------
Back up in the temple, Alex and the Tenkos were still looking around for a way to get in. Most of the passages and doors looked the same and were all probably all the same. Carla and Buster began to grow panicky about the whole situation, considering that every thirty minutes a great quake trembles the region. But soon they managed to get a bit of luck by finding a door very different from the rest. For starters it looked more like a gate than a door. It was plated with solid gold and had designs of Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza. Plus there were mysterious on the sides of the door. Wanting to end this soon, Carla and Buster ran up to the door to immediately open it.
Carla tried to pull it, but it was too heavy and didn’t even move a bit. Buster took a few steps back then instantly charged up to the door. Buster instantly fell back when his face slammed against the door. It was obvious that it was locked now. Carla went over to check if Buster was okay while Alex inspected the door. Alex tried to push it, but no avail. Alex then folded his sleeve and revealed his mark. Slowly placing his palm on the Kyogre symbol, he closed his eyes and expected something to happen, but nothing happened. Alex gave a sigh and slammed his fist on the door. Filled with slight despair, Alex looked up and saw a clue to help him unlock the door.
The ancient text above shined quite brightly except for a sentence. The sentence on the right shined a sparkling ruby color and the one on the top sparkled a glittering emerald green color, but the one on the left was just text. It wasn’t shining at all and it surprisingly looked very familiar to the text on Alex’s arm. Without hesitation, Alex placed his hand on the colorless text and waited. Soon the writings on the left began to shine a shimmering sapphire blue color. With every space of the text colored, a bright light soon shined on the spaces of the gate.
“Hey how’d you do that?” Carla asked.
“I just did it,” Alex replied,” Hey Buster, you okay?”
“Yeah,” Buster said as he rubbed his head,” Man that door’s tougher than I thought.”
“Okay let’s try and open it now,” Alex said slowly pressing his fingers on the gate.
As he pressed his fingers, the gate began to open and reveal a great bright light. As the light faded, Alex found himself standing in the center of a black background. Alex looked below and saw that he was standing over a kind of black pond. The pond looked entirely black, but the ripples that motioned around his feet shined a jewel blue color. Alex saw his reflection clearly on the pond. He then looked around but didn’t really see anything else but the gate he had entered through. Buster and Carla weren’t comfortable with going in since everything looked quite cold and dark. Alex then took a few steps forward and felt a powerful and soothing energy wave around his body and mind. It felt quite relaxing. Carla and Buster tried to get in, but it seems there was a kind of invisible barrier, stopping them from getting in.
Alex continued to move around then felt a different wave of energy flowing around. Suddenly gates behind Alex slammed shut. The whole gate began to slowly fade; Alex was stuck in the center of darkness. Back outside, the one mighty gate that stood in front of Carla and Buster shined into a completely sealed door with no way entering. The two began to pound on the wall and call out Alex’s name. Back inside, Alex heard Carla and Buster’s voices echoing everywhere. Alex was unable to detect where the voices came from. But soon a bright light began to shine in front of him.
Not knowing what to expect, Alex walked into the light. Soon he found himself in a whole new area that looked nothing like the underground, Sengi, Sub Sengi or the temple. He looked around and saw another void of pure black nothingness, but he soon found Tim in front of him. Tim then turned around with Emerald Eye in his hands. Tim gave another menacing smile as Deoxys slowly rose behind Tim. Alex was slightly intimidated and thought of escaping, but he found that the entrance to the light was gone. Soon escaping from his poke balls were Seviper and Abra ready to rumble with Deoxys.
“So Alexander,” Tim said,” You’ve decided to challenge one of the ultimate trainers of Xega? I shall surely enjoy this match, the former champion of Kanto versus the ultimate champion of time. Prepare for eternal pain. Once you’ve been defeated my Fatal Rose, you’ll remain here forever.”
“Fatal Rose?” Alex asked.
“You don’t know?” Tim asked,” Only a few trainers have inherited a special power and those chosen few are known as Fatal Roses. Fatal for being devastatingly powerful and Rose for having a willing heart. But even the mightiest of trainers fall.”
“Too bad I’m not one of them,” Alex replied.
“We’ll see Alexander,” Tim smirked. With that final word, Deoxys leapt up and landed between Alex and his pokemon.
Seviper moved away from Deoxys and then released a powerful blast of combusting orange flames from its throat, right at Deoxys. But before the flames could strike down the DNA pokemon, it shot out of the way and into the air in its speed form. After a second of hovering in air, Deoxys torpedoed down to strike Seviper. But before it was able to touch the black snake, a powerful cotillion of spiral shadows launched out and struck Deoxys. Deoxys turned around and glared coldly at the little Abra who had just unleashed a shadow ball attack.
Slowly turning away from Seviper, Deoxys transformed into its offense mode and lashed its tentacle out to Abra. Abra instantly created an invisible barrier around itself, but the tentacle immediately destroyed the barrier, sending Abra to slide back. Deoxys then released its other three tentacles on Abra, but Abra soon teleported behind Deoxys, before the tentacles stabbed through its small body. As Deoxys recalled its tentacles, Seviper slithered forwards and stabbed its fangs on Deoxys’s shoulder. The DNA pokemon gave a bellow of pain as it motioned its tentacles.
Soon Deoxys turned to its defense form and slapped Seviper back next to Alex. Filled with anger, Deoxys leapt back up and transformed into its normal form. Slowly placing its palms together, it began to create a powerful shining crystal of psychic energy. Seviper then released a flamethrower attack, but the flames were easily extinguished by the powerful psychic energy. Alex and Seviper braced for impact, but Abra came in held its palms up. It began to slowly hold the psychic crystal back, but the crystal continued to bolt towards them.
Abra then gathered all its energy and clenched one of its fists as a powerful blue aura shined around its body. As its hands clenched a hole was punctured inside the crystal, making it explode. It didn’t exactly destroy the attack, but it stopped it from hitting them. The crystal exploded into large blazing purple flames that struck anything within range. The crystal nearly struck both Alex and Tim. Tim was surprised by what happened. He began to wonder how Abra, a simple psi pokemon, was able to stop the attack of one of the most powerful psychic pokemon.
Abra panted for a while and took deeply inhaled the fumes of smoke the purple flames had made. Abra’s eyes began to glow a neon blue color as its whole body turned shining white. Tim gave a surprised expression for a moment, but then gave a menacing and confident smirk. Abra’s body slowly morphed bigger as the light slowly died down. Abra had evolved into Kadabra. Kadabra was a psi pokemon with a kind of moustache, a sharper face, a kind of brown upper body, a pink star on its forehead and one spoon. Seviper slithered next to Kadabra as Deoxys landed on the ground next to Tim.
“Do you think one evolution will change your fate in this battle?” Tim asked,” It’ll take more than a snake and a psi pokemon to defeat one of the ultimate creatures in the universe.”
***
Back down, Sarah and Raphael were still fighting against Hawk. It seems the only pokemon left on the field were Scizor and Electabuzz. Sarah was unable to do anything but watch Raphael and Hawk rumble it out. By the looks of things, it didn’t look like it would end. Both pokemon were barely hurt and neither of them was a bit tired from fighting each other. Electabuzz formed a powerful sphere of surging golden energy in its palm and released it to Scizor, but the bug pokemon swiftly dodged the attack and slammed its head on Electabuzz’s stomach. Electabuzz was pushed back a bit, but wasn’t hurt much.
Soon above were several surges of lightning, dark clouds began to loom around the region. Rain began to slowly pour from the sky, while a soft wind whistled a mourning tune. Electabuzz and Scizor soon landed next to their owners, waiting for their next command. Hawk and Raphael continued to glare deeply into one another’s eyes. Taking a deep breath, Raphael moved forward to speak with Hawk. Scizor just stayed in a defensive position, in case of any tricks that Raphael might pull out.
“Hawk, stop your childish demeanor and stop this,” Raphael said,” Don’t you see that you’re being ordered by a mad man who has only one purpose in his life. He’s using you and your Tenkos as puppets. Once he has what he came for, he will dispose of you three.”
“Are you still trying to persuade me?” Hawk asked,” Why can’t you guys just go home or something? I mean what’s the big deal with just one emerald?”
“Hawk are you insane?!” Raphael sneered,” The Emerald Eye allows its user to continue or give life. With that, Tim could use his power to resurrect some omni powerful force that could devour the world into darkness.”
“I’m not a big believer of that crap,” Hawk replied.
“Hawk… fine you leave me no choice,” Raphael said as he pulled out a revolver. Sarah was filled with horrible shock the he still had his weapon. Raphael instantly aimed at Hawk and shot him on the leg. Hawk fell on one knee in pain. Scizor saw his trainer in pain and torpedoed towards Raphael. But before the bug pokemon could strike, Electabuzz came in and thrusted its elbow on Scizor’s chest. Scizor was sent slamming on the wall while Electabuzz released a terribly powerful volt of electricity from its body right around Scizor.
Scizor screeched in pain, as the electricity continuously surged across its whole body. Electabuzz then threw Scizor on the mud, while Raphael walked up to Hawk to finish him. Hawk looked up, only to find the holes of the revolver point at his forehead. Raphael was ready to pull the trigger while Sarah tried to get up to stop him. Hawk then closed his eyes and waited for the bullet to pierce through his skull, but nothing happened. Hawk looked up and saw that Raphael stood still. Hawk looked around and noticed that everything had paused. Hawk then felt someone hold his shoulder. Turning around, someone had just placed their hands on his eyes and he was instantly blinded by a bright light.
“I do not have the power to give you back your memory. That’s something you need to recover yourself,” a feminine voice stated,” But I can give you this one look at the past, to help you on your way.”
Soon Hawk saw unclear images of what happened in the underground not so long ago. All he managed to see were Carla and Buster getting badly struck by Deoxys. Deoxys had already finished off both Flareon and Skamory. Carla was down, but Buster still had enough strength to at least stand and speak. Using his remaining strength, Buster ordered Flareon to release a fire blast on Tim. Flareon was down, but it instantly got up and unleashed a powerful blast of burning orange flames at Tim. Tim tried to move away, but his arm was instantly struck by the blazing burns of flame. Tim continued to stand tall as he extinguished the flames with his hand. His sleeve was partly burnt, but his hand was clean and untouched which surprised Buster.
Tim wasn’t hurt, but was annoyed by the burn on his coat. Tim then instantly ordered Deoxys to finish Buster off. Without hesitation, Deoxys lashed outs its tentacle and slapped Flareon down. Turning its attention only to Buster, it tightened its tentacles and lashed them out to Buster. Buster had no where to run, he just closed his eyes and prepared for the strike. The tentacle had instantly whipped him right on his chest, sending him back. Tim then ordered Deoxys to take care of Alex while he finished off something.
That was all that Hawk was able to see. He soon found himself kneeling once more on the ground with Raphael pointing his revolver on his forehead. Sarah was holding Raphael’s leg, begging him not to shoot. Raphael was going to pull the trigger but he soon went eye to eye contact once more with Hawk. Raphael then saw in Hawk’s eyes a kind of change of heart. Sensing that a bit of goodness has returned to his mind, he slowly placed his revolver back. Sarah deeply sighed with relief that Raphael didn’t end the fight with using a gun. Scizor slowly got up and shook the mud off its face. It then saw Raphael and got ready to attack, but Hawk ordered it to stand down.
“I hope you understand,” Raphael said,” Now you may choose to retreat so we could fight another day, or do what is right.”
Hawk then looked down at his reflection of the water then looked back up at Tim’s cold and unforgiving eyes. Hawk began to wonder, if there was a hidden purpose within him that he has forgotten. Back above, Deoxys stood tall in its normal form, beside Tim. Kadabra and Seviper were both weakened and were barely able to move. Alex was left standing against Deoxys and Tim. Deoxys was ready to launch an attack, but Tim ordered it to stand down for a moment. Alex was wondering what Tim was up to.
“So this is the fate of a Kyogre chosen one, I was hoping that Kyogre was much wiser in making decisions,” Tim smirked,” Well it looks like, Kyogre was terrified with our power that it immediately decided to randomly choose a trainer. I sympathize you for being here to die, but I quite admire you for even getting this far. But now it’s over. I don’t ask anyone to join us; it’ll just prove that they’re weaker than ever.”
“Did you just order your Deoxys to stand down so you can monologue?” Alex asked,” Man, bad guys are weird.”
“Enough!” Tim boomed as he pointed out to Alex.
Deoxys instantly transformed into its attack mode and lashed its tentacle towards Alex. But soon a Scizor came in front of Alex and swatted back the tentacle from reaching Alex. Slowly appearing beside Alex out of a portal of light was Hawk. Hawk’s leg was still hurt, but he managed to trudge into the arena. Tim looked down at Hawk’s leg and saw the continuous bleeding, giving a smirk, Tim asked,” Raphael let you live? That’s quite a surprise; I thought he would have finished you with that revolver of his.”
“Whatever,” Hawk grunted as he tried to stand up straight,” I warned you about tricking us in the beginning of this journey and now you’re going to get your *** kicked. Scizor fury cutter!”
Scizor launched itself at Deoxys and delivered a powerful slash with its pincer right at Deoxys. Deoxys skidded back to Tim, but wasn’t critically hurt, since it instantly transformed into its defense mode when Scizor was about to strike. Deoxys then transformed into its normal form and released a shining purple laser right at it. Scizor dodged the attack and flew directly at Deoxys. It focused its strength on its pincer and delivered a powerful jab towards Deoxys. But Deoxys easily caught Scizor’s pincer and threw it away. Scizor was about to release its wings to fly, but one of Deoxys’s tentacles instantly launched out and grabbed Scizor’s knee.
Hawk was shocked with the fast movement of Deoxys. Deoxys was already in its attack form; it spun Scizor around and around in the and finally slammed it right on the platform. Scizor’s metal body slammed so hard on the glass platform, that some parts of the glass shattered to pieces. Scizor weakly opened its eyes to try and get back in the battle, but Deoxys made sure that Scizor never got up by lashing out its tentacles right on Scizor a few times. Hawk had no choice but to recall Scizor. Deoxys was way too strong. Hawk wasn’t able to call out Gastly since it had already fainted from the battle with Raphael and Sarah. Deoxys then turned its attention to finish Alex, but Hawk came in front of Alex to defend him.
“You’re helping your rival?” Tim asked,” Interesting, why?”
“Nobody is gonna finish him, but me,” Hawk said,” So even though we share a type of rivalry, I’m not gonna let you hurt him.”
“Quite touching,” Tim replied,” Deoxys finish off Alex.”
Deoxys lashed out its tentacle and struck Hawk’s wound. Hawk fell to the ground snarling in pain. Deoxys then gave one mighty lash and struck Hawk out of the platform. Hawk was nearly consumed by pit of darkness but he managed to hold onto the edge of the platform with both hands. Deoxys then turned its attention to Alex. The boy slowly perspired from fear; he took a few steps back until he realized he was at the edge. Looking at Deoxys he took a deep breath and stood up straight, waiting for Deoxys to make its move.
Deoxys then lashed out its tentacle and wrapped Alex super tight. Alex was beginning to turn blue and run out of air. He tried to free himself from Deoxys, but the DNA pokemon was too powerful for any human to handle. Alex had no choice but to surrender, he held his head down as things began to grow weary and black. Tim approached Alex to look at him if he had truly surrendered. Hawk slowly got back on the platform and saw that Alex was soon going to get killed. Hawk wanted to help, but with his pokemon down and his leg hurt, there was nothing he could do but watch Alex’s slow and painful death.
“Maybe next time Kyogre would choose a better trainer,” Tim said,” Once we have taken over Xega we’ll be destroying the other regions and merge the whole planet to make one mighty civilization. But we’ll also have to get rid of the unworthy trainers like the elites, gym leaders, champions and speaking of champions, I have been keeping my eye on one that will surely be a great trophy on my wall. I think her name’s Christine?”
Hearing this made Alex regain his strength, Alex soon released himself from Deoxys’s grasp and away from the two. Tim turned to Alex with shock; he was surprised that Alex was able to get out.
“You’re really getting on my nerves,” Alex said,” Mess with Christine, you mess with me.”
Soon, Alex’s tattoo began to shine once more its bright neon blue color. Because of the shine, the whole area began to quake rapidly. Soon erupting from the darkness of the walls were powerful flows of rejuvenating neon blue energy. The stream surged around Alex and Hawk, healing all their wounds. Hawk watched his still bleeding wound, slowly close while the blood stains vanished. Hawk stood up straight with amazement. The blue energy also began to surge around their pokemon, healing them all. Kadabra and Seviper began to slowly rise up while Scizor and Gastly emerged from their poke balls, looking well as ever. Tim and Deoxys were shocked with what was happening. Tim began to perspire as he had a face of fear which Alex had never seen before.
Tim took a few steps back as Deoxys got into an attack position. “How could this be?” Tim stammered,” What sort of power is this?!”
“I hold the forgotten symbol of life,” Alex replied,” Now, it’s time to take yours away. Seviper fire blast, Kadabra shadow ball!”
“It’s time to wipe that smile off your face permanently,” Hawk said,” Scizor hyper beam! Gastly night shade!”
Seviper took a deep breath and soon released a powerful blazing blast of orange flames from its throat. Kadabra instantly released a sharp and powerful black orb with dark blazing purple flames. Scizor flew back into the air and instantly unleashed a powerful blast of energy from its pincer and Gastly unleashed a wave of mystic neon purple energy from its mind. Altogether, the four attacks struck Deoxys. The DNA pokemon switched to defense mode and tried to stop the four attacks. But soon the attacks were too powerful for it to contain and Deoxys was shot back on the ground in its normal form.
Deoxys slowly began to slowly disintegrate into tiny green particles that slowly ascended back into the cold space. Tim was left to pay the ultimate price for failure. Soon emerging below him was a pond of black bubbling tar. The tar slowly engulfed his body, Tim tried to set himself fee, but soon the tar completely wrapped around his body and formed a cocoon of darkness. The Emerald Eye slowly emerged from the center of the cocoon. Hawk and Alex recalled their pokemon. Alex then turned to Hawk.
“Hey,” Alex said,” Thanks for helping me out.”
“Helping you?” Hawk said sarcastically,” I was just doing this so I could get on with my life!”
“Whatever,” Alex chuckled,” So was there a reason why you wanted to save me from Tim?”
“Well…” Hawk said, as he thought for an explanation,” I just want you have a rematch with you. But I’m guessing now’s not a good time, since you have something to do and I have something to think about.”
“Why don’t you just give me your number on your pokesat?” Alex asked.
“Sure why not,” Hawk said as he took out his pokesat and passed his numbers towards Alex’s device,” Well, I better be going.”
Soon the white portal emerged from behind, Hawk slowly exited back into the normal world. Alex was going to follow, but he remembered he had to do something with the Emerald Eye first. He slowly took out the egg from his coat and approached the Eye. He slowly placed the egg on the tip of Eye, as he did a small twinkle of energy shined on the egg. The crusty egg began to crumble into a new egg. The rocky layers, crumbled away to reveal a new kind of egg. It was a white egg with a few silver designs on. Alex opened up a poke ball and called it in. Alex then turned to the portal and left the area.
Unknown to him, there was someone there watching him. Slowly emerging from the darkness of the walls was Miasma. She saw Alex revive the egg and defeat Tim. She turned to the cocoon and forced the Emerald Eye out. She then gave a smirk as she held the Emerald up.
“Lord Draco would be pleased with the success of my mission,” Miasma sinisterly grinned. She then turned to the cocoon.” Sorry partner, I would be able to get you out, but I don’t like to share credit.”
***
“So Alex, I hear you’re going off to Shinato,” Raphael said. Right now they were in a pokemon center resting until the next day.
“Yeah,” Alex said,” Samantha and Skyler informed me that the Black Castle of Eternal Nightmares might be there.”
“Well it’s a long trip if you go on foot,” Raphael said,” So to aid you a bit, I suggest you first got to Mechtropolis. Mechtropolis is an industrial city filled with several advanced technology, plus it’s known to have a really good connection with Shinato. If you could reach Mechtropolis, you’ll be able to get to Shinato in less than a day by train.”
“So I assume you’re joining us?” Alex asked.
“Us? Raphael asked with confusion.
“Yeah, Sara has agreed to join me,” Alex explained,” She really wants to see Xega, since she has no idea around the place, she thought it would be better if she joined me.”
“She’s finally leaving,” Raphael said,” Sadly, I won’t be able to join you now, but I might see you someday again. I’ll give you my number and this more upgraded map of Xega. Yours is a bit of a travelers’ map, but this one is a bit more advanced. It supports a high variety of detail of places and contains much easier ways around the region.”
“Thanks,” Alex said,” So what’re you going to do now?”
“I have some thinking to do,” Raphael replied,” There are several things in the region that I want to investigate. Normally I’d join you, but I have a different road to chart.”
“I see,” Alex said,” Hey where are the Tenkos anyway?”
Meanwhile, in the outskirts of Sub Sengi, the Tenkos were watching the silver moon shine the night sky. Hawk gave a sigh as he looked back on his once home city then turned to the dark forest which lay ahead of him. Buster and Carla walked next to Hawk to ask what he was thinking. Before they could ask, Hawk already knew what they wanted to know.
“I’ll be leaving for a while,” Hawk said,” For now the Tenkos disband. Now is not a good time to continue our territorial legacy in Sengi. I’ll be heading off somewhere to a place where I have never been before, you guys won’t be coming.”
“Why not?” Buster asked,” You know we always stick together, besides we have nothing better to do.”
“Actually you guys have,” Hawk replied,” As I recall, before I came into both of your lives you both were off on a journey, right?”
“Well come to think of it that’s true,” Carla thought,” Before I joined I did have a plan to live in Verve for a while, but I never actually did.”
“Hmm you’re right,” Buster agreed,” I was off to try and train as an XMD unit, but you persuaded me to stay with you. I can’t remember how you persuaded us though.”
“We all have things do,” Hawk said,” For now we shall disband. If we ever finish with what we’re doing, we shall reassemble in Sengi to continue the legacy of the Tenkos. Agreed?”
“Agreed,” Carla and Buster both said.
“Good,” Hawk said as he began to leave,” ‘till we meet again.”
With that Hawk slowly disappeared into the night shadows of the forest. Carla was in tears that they were separating; they’ve been together for quite some time that she has bonded a lot with them…
I know that this actually might be the suckiest ending to a chapter, sorry about that. Damn, annoying mistakes, I'll try and fix 'em all. If you're wondering who Christine is, another character later to be revealed...
I feel so dissapointed with myself about this chapter. This one's rather short and the title kind of sucks. But thanks for the comment Sarukarisha. If you're thinking that the trip to Mechtropolis would be long, I'm sorry to say it won't. It will be actually quick, but the adventure in Mechtropolis will take some time. Well here's the next chapter please read and review. Enjoy...
Chapter 10
----------------
Off to Mechtropolis
----------------
Exiting the pine tree filled forest in front of Sub Sengi, Alex and Sarah stumbled across a new terrain which surprised both of them. The new terrain looked terribly like a junk ruins. There were a few worn out statues and towers that had magnificent designs, but most of the area was covered with garbage, scraps of metal, non fixable machines and several other parts of junk. Alex looked up in his pokesat and found that this area was known as Aerator Village. The surprising thing was that the device had no information about having mountains of garbage. All it said was that it was filled with a few worn down buildings and that it was an agricultural location filled with very few advancements.
Alex and Sarah looked deeper around and found very little signs of life. They usually found some Grimer or roaches crawling around in the layers of scrap. Unknown to them there was something not far away watching them very carefully. The figure slowly motioned down the mounds of malodorous trash and quietly into places it could hide itself. It looked rather interested in the two, especially Alex. The figure moved closer, but it accidentally kicked a rusted can. This caught both Alex and Sarah’s attention.
Alex slowly walked up towards the hiding place of the figure. Alex unevenly reached out to pull out the figure to see what it was. Taking a gulp, he moved even closer. He then saw a cat face instantly jump on him. He fell back dumbstruck. The figure was actually a Meowth, a street cat pokemon. Meowth are about cat sized, have brown toes, white fur, four sharp whiskers, black ears, big eyes and a golden charm on the forehead. This Meowth looked a bit different from the rest though; it wore a purple napkin around its neck and had white gloves and dirty brown boots.
“Man get off me,” Alex said as he said as he held the cat.
“What’s the matter? Not a cat person?” the Meowth asked.
“No not really,” Alex replied, not sounding surprised at all.
“Wait, you’re not surprised by my unique ability to speak human?” the Meowth asked as Alex placed him down.
“I’ve been hearing that there was a talking Meowth in Kanto,” Alex replied,” I’m guessing if one Meowth can talk human, what’s to keep a few more from speaking English?”
“I see you’re not from this region,” The Meowth frowned as he scratched his chin,” Well anyways, my name’s Saith. What’s yours?”
“I’m Alexander De Torres,” Alex introduced,” And that’s Sarah. Listen, it said in my pokesat that Aerator Village is supposed to be somewhere around here. So if you could show us the direction…”
“This is Aerator Village,” Saith coughed,” I’m assuming that your pokesat is a bit outdated. Nothing has really changed in the region but probably this Village. I’m also guessing that your pokesat said that Aerator’s an agricultural village; well it hasn’t been like that for over a long time. There is a bit of farming in this village, but the most common job around here is probably surrendering to the city of Mechtropolis.”
“Mechtropolis again,” Sarah frustratingly stated,” It’s like Mechtropolis owns this region.”
“Actually it should,” Saith replied,” Let me explain a bit more in what’s left of the city.”
Later, Saith brought Alex and Sarah to a run down resting place with the regular Nurse Joy and a single Chansey. The only difference was that there were several more doctors and more human patients than pokemon. They also took a glimpse of the village of Aerator; the village looked a lot more like the remains of a destroyed city. Several run down buildings, people walking around or just sitting next to nearby buildings. It was filled with rats, trash and junk. By the looks of things, several people were worried of something. There were a few trainers who wore similar torn and dirty attire; their faces were filled with fear and determination. Something big was going to happen and it wasn’t difficult to tell. Saith then sat down on a stool and began to dictate the story of Aerator.
“Several years ago, Aerator used to be a calm and peaceful land filled with a friendly and non polluted environment,” Saith said,” It was all calm and nice, until people of Mechtropolis arrived. Several merchants of Mechtropolis arrived, showing goods and other items scarcely found in these parts. When the merchants found that these people had very little knowledge of city life, they reported to several land developers of Mechtropolis. Soon out of nowhere, giant metal monsters rose up, tearing crops and pieces of land apart to make room for factories and storage pits. But this was only the beginning, the real terror came was when a Shinato leader gathered an army. The man named Lord Draco.”
“Draco’s still feared by many,” Alex remarked,” He must be really dangerous.”
“He still is,” Saith replied as he twitched his whisker,” There have been rumors that he has hired a few mercenaries from all over the region to help him.”
“Yeah we know,” Sarah sighed as she looked down,” We’ve already encountered a few of them.”
“Well anyway, Draco set up his army to wipe out what he calls the virus of the region,” Saith said,” Several people from all over the region were wiped out, because of him. Mechtropolis and Shinato wanted to take him out instantly, but it wasn’t easy. He had already taken over Shinato and sent a giant army to topple the cities that stood against him. Mechtropolis made Aerator their own battle camp, building several more factories for weapons and other military buildings. Seeing that this could be a threat, he made a direct strike towards Aerator, critically destroying every structure that stood. Workers of Mechtropolis escaped, but the original people in Aerator were unable to escape the powerful fury Draco unleashed.”
“I thought the region would look pretty,” Sarah groaned,” Well it pretty much sucks up here. I thought everything would be one with nature and there wouldn’t be a whole lot of madness and corruption.”
“This isn’t Verve kid,” Saith said,” But that’s the world we live in, a world of sin. But anyway, Draco was soon overthrown thanks to a few heroes who have triumphed over him. After the war, Mechtropolis decided that Aerator should no longer exist and neither should the inhabitants. They decided to turn every person of the village into Mechtropolians. But the villagers refused hastily, not caring what they thing, Mechtropolis sent several soldiers to take away any person they could find. But now Aerator villagers are trying their best to keep their people alive, they refuse to replace who they really are. They are now trying to find a land beyond the scrap and turn it into home.”
Then all of a sudden, a great quake shook the place. Saith’s black ears widened, listening to the shaking movement of the ruins. Soon several people scattered around, hiding in the piles of garbage. Soon bursting out of the large hills of trash appeared a great battle chopper. Slowly opening from the chopper was a kind of missile shooter, but instead of missiles, several poke balls were shot out into the field. Emerging from the spheres, were a swarm of vicious Scyther.
Scythers are mantis pokemon which resemble more of reptile than bug. They have blade like scythes, razor wings and green bodies. The only different thing about these Scyther was that they had a kind of camera watching everything they saw next to their right eyes. Within the helicopter, the pilot was able to view everything the Scyther saw. The pilot scanned all the screens and was to order an instant raid. But before he could be heard, a certain screen caught his attention. One of the Scyther had spotted Sarah, Alex and Saith.
The pilot smirked with delight, for there was a transmission by Shera, to try and find Alex. Every detail about him was sent to every XMD units and bases. Switching on the loudspeaker, he announced,” Scyther Swarm! Target the kid with the Meowth next to him!” This was heard loud and clear by everybody and soon every single Scyther focused their sights on Alex.
Alex gave a small cough,” You guys want a piece of me?” Alex asked as he took out both Kadabra and Seviper’s poke balls,” Bring it on!”
The Scyther instantly shot off towards him; Alex then released Kadabra and Seviper while Sarah took out Beldum and Kirilia. Saith crossed his arms together and got ready for a fight. Anybody nearby, trainer or not, just scattered away. As the Scyther got closer, Seviper took a deep breath and released a powerful blast of orange flames. Soon several of the Scyther were knocked down and several screens inside the helicopter blacked out. The pilot snarled as he pressed a button to recall the fainted Scyther.
There were a few out, but there were still a bunch to go. Saith leapt in the air and landed on the face of one Scyther, Saith gave an angry screech and instantly punched the camera off the mantis’s head. The Scyther all were quite skilled. They all had balanced speed, agility, reaction time and balance. Soon one Scyther came closer and closer to Seviper without much difficulty. Soon Scyther was in front of Seviper with one blade up, but before Seviper was slashed, Kadabra came in and attacked with a mega punch. Kirilia and Beldum were handling things quite well, due to their psychic abilities; the Scyther weren’t able to get too close to them.
But soon, the Scyther began to use spectacularly brilliant moves. Seviper and Kirilia were then thrown back to Alex and Sarah. Then out of nowhere, a large group of Scyther rose and dived towards Alex and Sarah. Beldum and Kadabra turned back to find their trainers in trouble. Alex closed his eyes, getting ready for a beating, but nothing happened. The Scyther just floated in midair, they were disabled except for their heads. Alex thought it was one of their psychic pokemon, but Kirilia, Beldum and Kadabra were quite shocked by this.
Saith then slowly appeared holding his palm up at the Scyther, Alex stared at surprise that Saith had a psychic element. “What are you waiting for?!” Saith screeched franticly,” I can’t hold them for long! Attack, run, do something useful!”
“Sorry,” Alex replied,” Seviper flamethrower!”
“Kirilia psywave!” Sarah ordered.
Seviper took a deep breath and released a powerful blaze of flames at half of the Scyther, while Kirilia gave a swift and powerful wave of crystal purple psychic energy at the other half. The Scyther were tossed back and fainted. Soon one remained standing, seeing it had no chance, it instantly flew back into the helicopter. All the Scyther were recalled and the helicopter flew away. Alex sat down and panted heavily; he recalled Seviper and Kadabra and then turned to Saith.
“The talking part of you isn’t really amazing,” Alex said,” But you having a psychic side of the brain is different. I doubt I’ve seen any other Meowth use a psychic attack.”
“I know,” Saith replied,” But humans aren’t the only ones who can develop their mental status.”
***
Meanwhile in the other side of the junk ruins, the helicopter was slowly landing into a bivouac. The camp was next to a train station which led right into Mechtropolis. As the helicopter landed, the pilot rushed off into one of the tents to report what he had found. As soon as he entered the tent, a sharp blade soon pointed in front of his neck. Pointing the knife in front of him was a hooded stranger. The stranger was obviously female because of her brown pony tail and the size of her breast. She wore a metal mask over her eyes and a dark red scarf around her mouth. She also wore a black robe around her body and a tight brown belt around her chest.
The pilot took two steps back then asked,” Where’s Lieutenant Boris?”
“He’s on vacation,” the stranger replied,” I’ve been asked by General Shera to take over this area for the mean time.”
“Well what’s you’re name?” the pilot asked.
“That name will be known later,” the stranger answered,” For now just call me ma’am. So why are you in such a hurry to see Lieutenant Boris?”
“Well ma’am, I’m sure you’ve heard that General Shera has ordered the capture of an Alexander De Torres,” the pilot said,” Well it seems his location is not far, I’ve found him in the remains of the Aerator village. He instantly defeated my fleet of Scyther with the help of a Meowth and a female trainer.”
“I see,” she replied,” Pilot, how long will it take for you to finish doing any necessary things for your helicopter?”
“About two hours ma’am,” the pilot said,” Ma’am surely you’re not thinking of going after him. He has defeated my entire fleet; you can’t possibly defeat him by yourself.”
“Don’t underestimate me pilot,” she said,” I’ve been through a lot more than you have and have a lot more experience on the field than you do. So prepare the helicopter, I’ll be taking care of him personally.”
