I've been playing Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility lately, and I just started to wonder what everyones favorite animal to have on the farm is. So, what is your favorite animal to have on the Harvest Moon games? Is it the cow or the chicken because they produce regularly and make a good profit? Or is it Horses because they speed up transportation? Or maybe Ostriches or silkworms just because they're new? Please make sure you post what your favorite HM animal is, and why, and try to stay avoid one liners!

Oh, btw, I voted for cows. Because they're so reliable to always have milk and they make a good profit.

Searching for Harvest Moon-related threads, I found this. My favourite animals have gotta be the ducks, they're just so bloody cute and they've been my favourite since they were introduced in AWL.

I've always loved the Harvest Moon series. I'd have to say I love the chickens because I'm better raising them and I don't have to sacrifice food production to increase my flock like you do with the cows.

Gotta be cows. They're cute, make milk (and butter and yoghurt) and are great to have on the farm as their milk goes for a lot. I also quite like chickens, as I love eggs for my son Mickey!
