Mega Man X is my favorite. It had upgraded everything, and new features such as dashing. It was truly an awesome series.

I like mega man X the best also. The weapons and bosses are awesome. The original mega man comes in a close second.

I perfer the Classic Megaman, it is the first Megaman game I played.

I've liked the original series since MM2 on the NES, and so far it's really my favorite. The X and Legends series come real close, though.

Defintely X. I really love the futuristic-ness of it all, along with dashing, wall-jumping, capsules, and sub-tanks. I love the characters and music too.
Since Zero shares many of those elements, it's my second favorite series. I just don't like how Zero looks so different. I can't convince myself he's the same Zero from the X series.
Battle Network is third. While it's hardly similar to other Megaman series in terms of gameplay, I feel it can call itself Megaman in its own right. I really enjoy the adventures here.
Classic is 4th. Sure it has the lightheartness, and sure I still have plenty of fun, but the gameplay isn't as advanced as X.
Legends is my least favorite. I haven't played the game, so I have no real right to judge. However, the only thing "Megaman" about it is a blue guy (who isn't even a robot) named Megaman who carries around an arm cannon and his sister Roll. There might be more, but I've never played it.

I'm pretty sure that's not what they mean. I'm guessing the "old" EXE means games 1-6, and the "new" EXE is the one in the distant future (With Subaru and everything). It hasn't been released yet, though.
Anyway, my favorite series would be Rockman.EXE, followed by Zero, and (even though I haven't played it yet) ZX.
Funny, two of my favorite series are the two most hated...
This is really embarrassing to admit, but I've never experienced Megaman gameplay outside of the EXE series and the first three Zero games. You can probably guess that "Play froo da Klassix" is of high priority on the list of things I need to do before I kick the proverbial bucket.
Though for the sake of providing a productive answer to this poll, of the two series I have been able to wade through, the EXE games would be my favourites.

It´s really hard to say.
The original series was just,..well, the original, which introduced us to the whole concept of robot masters and gave us so many loveable character like Rockman, Blues, Forte the robot masters, rush and so on.
Although almost every new game was more of an add-on than a really new game, they never bored me.
Rockman & Forte is my favourite original megaman game.
The X series gave the Rockman universe its speed. Oh, and Zero, a overrated, but still cool guy ^^ I like the X series for being more mature and for its quick and action packed gameplay. X3 would be my favourite.

I like the battles and the characters in the game are clichee-filled but lovable.
It gives me as an old-school megaman fan a hell of nostalgic vibes ^^ Gotta love the redesigned robot masters.
Too bad, that the series after BN3 went downhill...BN3 was my favourite.
Rockman Zero was just great. It was even more mature and even more speedy than X. I love Zero for the same reason I love the X series. They threw in some nice gameplay changes in this series an I liked them.
Zero 3 is my favourite ( mh..always part 3? ^^; )

I´ve never played legends but from what it looks it doesn´t seem to be as good as the other Rockman games.

I loved EXE, though I'm a tad biased asit was my first megaman game. Its similiar to RPGs but still takes plenty of reaction skills.
