I know there's not much character development at all, but what the hell.

I personally like Aquarella. She seems more laid back and casual than the guys, who are like "ZOMG!". Plus, she's hot

Wow - no-one's replied! I think all the characters aren't that great, but if you had the choice to choose your gender/role in the beginning, would have been cool. I don't mean to be too attached to the other games - but I would also have liked to have played as any of the previous gym leaders/starting/major characters. Back to the question, I suppose I'd say the little professor dude in the labs.
