Brendan, from the Hoenn region games.

2. Who's your favorite RIVAL?
Gary, naturally. The first, the best, the greatest.

3. Who’s your favorite GYM LEADER?
Brock. We have a lot in common.

4. Who’s your favorite ELITE FOUR MEMBER/CHAMPION?
My favorite Champion is Steven. That guy was bright, kind, and had a certain understated style that spoke volumes about his humility and confidence. I can't decide on a fave E4 yet.

5. Who’s your favorite FRONTIER BRAIN?
I like Noland, Brandon, Lucy, and Thorton.

6. Who’s your favorite PROFESSOR?
Professor Oak, of course!

7. What’s your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM?
Team Rocket, for the most part. Best perpetrators of subterfuge and deception in the whole franchise.

8. Who's your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM MEMBER/LEADER?
My favorite member is Commander Saturn from Team Galactic, not just because he uses Toxicroak, but because of his icy cool composure and, post-defeat, almost-philosophical bent. My favorite leader is Giovanni of Team Rocket. - he created Mewtwo!

9. Who's your favorite IN-GAME CAST CHARACTER?
Looker was hilarious! I wish we could have seen much more of him.

1. Who's your favorite PLAYABLE CHARACTER?

Well, I always assumed they were "generic" characters but... Red, I guess. There's something about being the first that makes it stand out.

2. Who's your favorite RIVAL?

They're all so annoying and illogical in their replies when you beat them so... May, based on an aesthetic point of view Seriously, though, at least you get items from her, so it's a healthy rivalry, unlike the previous two. Wally is just forgettable, I wouldn't even consider him a rival, if I hadn't seen his name in this thread as a suggestion.

3. Who’s your favorite GYM LEADER?

Giovanni. Bottom-line, he's the only one that really has any relevance in the story, and is not there just to give you a badge.

4. Who’s your favorite ELITE FOUR MEMBER/CHAMPION?

As champion, Blue... It's kind of cool that he becomes the last gym leader in the 2nd Generation games, although that means he's playing second fiddle to Red, and I tend to root for the underdog. If talking strictly about Elite 4 members, then I'd have a tough choice between Lorelei, Karen and Lance.

5. Who’s your favorite FRONTIER BRAIN?

No idea, haven't played those games, yet.

6. Who’s your favorite PROFESSOR?

Oak... definitely Oak. They got it right the first time, all the others seem to be "missing" something.

7. What’s your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM?

Team Rocket. Again, being the first makes them stand out. Also, their goals were more believeable. Team Magma and Aqua sound like fundamentalist nuts to me, not so much "criminals".

8. Who's your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM MEMBER/LEADER?

Giovanni, of course. Not only Team Rocket leader, but also Gym leader and impecable dress code

9. Who's your favorite IN-GAME CAST CHARACTER?

Kurt, for his balls.

1. Who's your favorite PLAYABLE CHARACTER?
Hmm. I really like Brendan in his Emerald attire, as I do Lucas and Dawn in their respective Platinum attires. Red is awesome, Ethan is meh...
I like them all. ;_;

Of the characters I've played as so far, I think I like Brendan in Emerald the most. However, Touko is probably my favorite and Touya is also really cool.

2. Who's your favorite RIVAL?
Gary, I think. Barry's alright and Silver is neat, but... I dunno. I like Gary's design.
I can't say much about Bel or Cheren, although I'm sure I'll love them.

3. Who’s your favorite GYM LEADER?
Volkner, he's the coolest. That jacket is awesome.

4. Who’s your favorite ELITE FOUR MEMBER/CHAMPION?
I don't really have a favorite Elite Four member--none of them really stand out although Bruno and Karen are sexy. What's tough is the Champion. I love Cynthia, I think she's a total badass, but I also really like Adeku. All of the Champions love Pokemon, but Adeku's the only one who has ever really touched on the aspect that getting to the top for glory is not always the best thing. I think, for that reason, Adeku is my favorite, but Cynthia's just a margin below him because Cynthia's awesome.

5. Who’s your favorite FRONTIER BRAIN?
Dahlia. She's sexy and she's awesome!

6. Who’s your favorite PROFESSOR?
Prof. Rowan. I dunno why, I just always liked him. All of the other Professors are so kind and gentle, and that's great, but I liked that Rowan was different and was caring while being gruff. Oak we see way too often, Elm is a wimp, Birch is stupid-looking, and Yew I don't have much of an opinion on (but she doesn't seem so special besides being female...).

7. What’s your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM?
Team Rocket. I thought Team Galactic was more openly villainous, but not quite as cool as Team Rocket. Team Magma and Team Aqua were just stupid. I hated them.
Team Plasma sounds really interesting though. I like the aspect of "we aren't villains, we're do-gooders!", and the "bad guy" aspect comes from their extremism. They're like PETA.

8. Who's your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM MEMBER/LEADER?
Cyrus, hands-down. Cyrus was messed up, and that made him creepier. The way he just disappeared in Platinum also fits--he could be roaming the Distortion World forever.
N is really cool but I don't think he's my favorite Criminal Team member. He's too much like a Foil character rather than a villain. Also, I hate Dennis's Geechis's design.

9. Who's your favorite IN-GAME CAST CHARACTER?
Hmm... that guy who is in every Gym ("Yo! Champ-in-making!")! The Caretaker / Jim Gai! No, seriously. That guy's awesome.
If not him... Riley, Mr. Fuji, or Eusine.

1) Favorite Playable Character: I don't really know. Leaf, I guess. Though I like Kris, since she's the original Playable Female. When I first saw her, I thought "OH BOY! No more Reds named 'Nicole'!" I just like Leaf's hat. I used to wear a hat like that when I was that age.

2) Rival? Blue is cool, but I just couldn't stand Brendan! He was such a smug a-hole! Barry makes me giggle, since that's my Dad's name, and Barry strikes me as an idiotic, simpering cronie that turns into an idiotic, friendly rival (When I first played, I thought that Lucas would be the rival, but I was mistaken). Silver reminds me of a whiney emo kid...so...now that the ranting is done...I guess Blue?

3) Gym Leader: Koga (he's always struk me as being amazingly cool). I also like Lt. Surge quite a bit (game, I don't like anime Surge much). Morty was always cool, and so was Pryce--he's got the bad-*** old geezer Clint Eastwood thing going.

4)E4? Champ?: Bruno. Fighting types, you know? Champion-wise, I like the new guy. He looks cool. Here's hoping he'll be a challenge.

5) Brain?: I don't really do BF, and the only one I've ever seen is Dahlia, and she creeps me out. (Her eyes and the fact that she reminds me of Flo from the Progressive Commercials. I think she wants to make a suit out of your organs.)

6) Prof?: Elm. Poor guy got butted out of his own gen by Oak. I think he would have been better if he were allowed to shine more...or would have been spectacular fail.

7) Team: Rocket. They seemed to be the most realistic team, to me. Just a bunch of thugs stealing pokemon and selling them on the Black Market, running a casino, taking a town or two hostage, you know--mobster stuff.

8) Team Leader?: Cyrus. He seems like the type to have Team Galactic drink the Kool-Aid, if you know what I mean.

9) Featured NPC? (in game cast Character?): Hmmmm....difficult, since I don't pay much attention to them. Riley, probably. He gave me the Riolu from which I bred my Lucario, Rumia. Plus, he just looks cool.

This is ignoring Black and White. As I have not played these games it's not fair to judge them along with others I've had at least four years to know.

1. Who's your favorite PLAYABLE CHARACTER?
Hmm, maybe Red because he is the strongest Trainer ever. But then there's Platinum Lucas who wears cool clothes and accomplished so much in Platinum.

2. Who's your favorite RIVAL?
Has to be Barry. He made me crack a smile all the time. His personality really won me over. Plus he trains cool Pokémon.


3. Who’s your favorite GYM LEADER?
I liked all of the Sinnoh Gym Leaders but I think Blaine has to be my favourite. The way he keeps his chin up despite everything he's worked for destroyed and also facing old age is admirable(not Animé Blaine, he's ugly).

4. Who’s your favorite ELITE FOUR MEMBER/CHAMPION?
Favourite Champion is definitely Cynthia. She is so cool, proving women are just as talented as men as well as being so down to earth and training the toughest Pokémon I have ever faced is so awesome.
Favourite Elite Four member, not sure. None really stand out but I suppose I really like Karen's diva room in HG/SS


5. Who’s your favorite FRONTIER BRAIN?
Dahlia of course. She may be the weakest Frontier Brain but she definitely has fun doing it. Her costume, her cheery personilty and her passion for dance really appeals to me.

6. Who’s your favorite PROFESSOR?
Rowan or Elm. Upon first impressions Rowan doesn't seem like too much of a nice person but deep down there's a warm, cuddly teddy bear waiting to give a hug.
Elm is cool. Despite being extremely unorganised he manages to raise a family and complete research tasks across the whole of Johto.

7. What’s your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM?
Team Galactic is great. They are the most in depth villainous team and their, well Cyrus', goal was by far the most enjoyable. Right from the big boss himself all the way down to the unknown Grunts Team Galactic was a well thought out villainous team.

8. Who's your favorite CRIMINAL TEAM MEMBER/LEADER?
Cyrus for sure. That man is so psychotic and his entire goal and means to get it was awful. But man did it make for an incredible story. What is also great about him is that despite what the player character does they don't really have an effect on his plans. With previous villainous teams once you defeated their leader they kind of disbanded the team but this time you had no effect on Cyrus, he just went about his business.

9. Who's your favorite IN-GAME CAST CHARACTER?
I can't really think of anyone that stands out, there are just so many of them haha.

E4/Champion: Karen. She uses dark-types and has a good quote.
Frontier Brain: Since I'm not sure of this one, I'll just pick a pretty strong one who is also Barry's dad: Palmer.
Professor: Either Oak or the one from Black and White.
Criminal Team: Probably Rocket.
Criminal Team Member: ...Idk, I guess Jessie from TR.

Team Galactic. Their goal was different, to say the least (in a good way ).

Commander Jupiter, easily. I loved how badass and powerful she was in the manga and that she always remained cool, calm, collected and confident, and always went down fighting no matter what the odds were. From what I've read, I don't understand why people prefer Saturn and Mars over her.

Professor Oak. He looks surprisingly hot + "I came when I heard you beat the Elite Four." = HARDCORE

Cipher is the funkiest team I've ever seen. Long live Miror B., the best admin in existence! \,,/
