I noticed that there are a lot of port towns in the Pokémon world, and while they're all somewhat similar, each has its own distinct character.

So, which one's your favourite?

Nice Poll. *Thumbs-Up*

I really like most Port Towns/Cities, now that I think about it. They're always fairly big, and have this nice feeling to them. A nice atmosphere rarely found anywhere else.

It's a hard choice. Honestly. But I'll have to say Lilycove. It's not only a port city, but also a rather odd one out in this regard. It's rough, yet snobby all over. Quite an unexpected combo in my opinion.

Then is Slateport. I liked it more in RS, because it was the best place to hatch Eggs. But it's also very big and cheerful. Full of attractions.

Then comes Olivine City. The only with an explorable Lighthouse. Fairly big as well, neatly arranged, and has a lovely GYM Leader.

Then is Gateon Port. Almost tied with Olivine. Superb music, a Club, and a Lighthouse as well. A peaceful place in the rather rough Orre Region. One of my fave places in XD.

Last is Vermilion. It was cool, but I also find it the smallest of the lot. And didn't have as many attractions inside the city either. It's one of two with GYM Leader, though. But I'm not much fond of Lt. Surge. ;)

Slateport for me. Apart from being my favorite port City, it's also a cool place all around. Cool music, good scenery, lots of things to do....Just cool, in short.

Gateon Port for second. Big, quaint, and relaxed. I like that in a town.

Next is Lilycove. There's a ton to do in and around Lilycove regardless of your GBA game, but for some reason, I didn't find it very inviting. The music annoys me, too D=

Olivine City....Normally, I adore Johto Cities. But I don't like the name, music, or design of this one. Probably my least favorite Johto City overall. I don't hate it, per se, I'm just not all that fond of it.

Vermilion City....So pathetic that I didn't even realize it qualified as a port City until I saw it on this Poll ._. It's bland, cramped, listless, and just boring overall. What more could you [not] want?

I withdraw reluctantly.
I like Lilycove because of what's there and you can catch Staryu there. Well Vermilion is also good because you get Staryu, but it doesn't have as much as Lilycove.

I like Gateon Port as well. It had nice features to it, but it doesn't have a place to fish.

Gateon Port is were we catch the last Shadow pokémon, and is slighty creative too, the Krabby Club is fun!
Slateport, I like it too, Move leleter, Effort ribbon girl and favorite Battle tent.
Olivine... I don´t remember too much about it (I think it´s the Steel gym one right?) but I like it, has the Ampharos as the master lighter, and is there were we get Leftovers IIRC.
Vermilion: The only good thing there is the Electric gym...

I figure I'll explain my choice: I like Olivine City for pretty much the same reason I like a lot of places in Johto: it has a much more cozy feel in comparison to the other towns. It's set in a quiet harbour with the cozy, Johto coniferous forests covering its land access. Even atop the lighthouse, we find a cozy little bedroom where Jasmine is nursing her Ampharos back to health. :)

My second choice would be Gateon Port. It has a cheerful, Old West feel to it, with the Krabby Klub and such, only less harsh and chaotic in comparison to the rest of Orre. It also has the best song.

IMO, Vermilion's too dull, Lilycove's too snobby, and Slateport's too excited. They're all still nice places, though.

Ah, I like all of them, but I have no problem saying my absolute favorite is Lilycove. There's so much to do the first time you go, it's like woah. Plus, no matter what Hoenn game you play, there's a contest there which gets an automatic win from me. Then there's the art museum (which appeals to me in-game and out), the TA/TM hideout, close to the safari zone, and a giant department store.
Then I like Olivine because Jasmine is by far my favorite Johto gym leader and I love the complex lighthouse. <3

I think that I'm a fan of Vermillion City because of the music there plus my one of my favorite parts of Fr/Lg takes place there (S.S Anne) Even though I'm the only one who likes it, I just think it's a cool place: You get Farfetch'd there, a bike voucher, vs seeker, your first fishing rod, thunderbadge and board the S.S Anne in Vermillion City. Best music in the game in my opinion.

Well, I liked vermillion's music, but I guess Slateport because there is a beach! With lots of girls, I hope.

Slateport. It reminds me of Virginia Beach, and yey shopping!

The GSC Vermillion music is very soothing though.

Lilycove - Awesome place. It's the home of the latest-appearing Department Store in the series(GSC's Celadon store doesn't really count since you already saw one in Goldenrod), and it might just be me, but there are a few better things than usual in Lilycove's Department because of it. The Contest Hall owns(even more so in Emerald now that ALL the contests take place there), trying to get all the painting for the museum is fun, and I really like the feel of the place.

Slateport - Great scenery, but aside from the Market and Battle Tent(which is fairly pointless after being able to go to the BF)/Contest House, there's not much to make me come back.

Olivine City - Slightly better than Vermillion, but still not very memorable. At least it has the Lighthouse and nearby Battle Tower(in Crystal, anyway)...come to think of it, I don't remember there being any sort of boat here that you can go on. Lilycove/Slateport have that boat taking you to and from the other, along with the BF in Emerald, and Vermillion had the St. Anne to g...oh wait, Olivine has a boat between it and Vermillion. I guess I forgot about that because the boat is fairly pointless once the Saffron/Goldenrod train is open to you.

Vermilion City - "It's bland, cramped, listless, and just boring overall. What more could you [not] want?" CB described it perfectly. :< The most interesting part of the city was the St. Anne, and that's only open to you for one event.

Gateon Port - ...this is in XD, right? As such, I have yet to see it. D:
