Favourite 'Tank' Glalie or Charizard?

By tank for those who don't know I Mean simply powerhouse or *** kicking machine. and Ash ddi have some but I'm looking for your favourite. Charizard has a fair winning streak but some people think its overrated. Glalie sucked before it evolved but it managed to beat a charizard metang dugtrio and tie with a misdreavus and sceptile in the Hoenn league. So which is the more popular tank, or is it another one?

Glalie always seemed like a butthead to Ash and I like Charizard better anyways. Glalie is kinda ugly too

Glalie, Charizard is grossly overused and just annoying to have around now. Glalie I can't stand how quickly it evolved but you know anythings better than Charizard.

Though I love and miss Snorunt, at least Glalie got some decent training and worked TOWARDS something [in this case, Ice Beam].
Instead of "I'm a disobeying Charmeleon, lolz! I'ma gonna singe my traine- Y HALO THAR Aerodactyl! I'ma gonna get yo- OOPS! I EVOLVED!1 =3"

And it actually helped Ash gain victory in the League, as opposed to being the root cause of him losing it *glares at Charizard*

I voted Glalie and im sure you can guess why...

It did beat several pokemon in the league and as Kawaiiest.Combusken said Charizard made him lose the first one. Though, i do like Charizard a lot and it did help Ash beat Gary at Johto. But my votes for Glalie.

Meh, I have chosen Charizard, Glalie is good, but There is somthing about Charizard which makes me choose him, probably because I remember watching the older ones before AG and thinking "Whoa" and that stays with me.

I can't decide, he's got that many: -
Donphan, Heracross, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Sceptile, Swellow, Corphish, Torkoal, etc... pretty much everyone he's got apart from the three Johto starters IMO.

I wouldnt consider Corphish or Torkoal powerful tanks. I voted for Glalie because its just plain awesome. It's personality was awesome and it knew some pretty cool moves. Not too mention that it helped Ash through a lot of the Hoenn league unlike Charizard who lost it for him.

He was only like that to Ash in the episode he caught it. He didnt do it as often to Ash after catching it. Also I'm glad Glalie still maintained its personality after evolution. Charizard IMO has started to become bland after being in the valley for so long. Also Glalie was like that because it was just having fun. It's also intended for comic relief. Its not like it hates Ash it just has fun with him.

Heh, nobody mentions Snorlax either? I know he falls into the Charizard category of being overused, but still he's a pretty damn good tank.

Agrees with both gravy and cybercubbed. Snorlax always comes back and manages to take out 2 pokemon. Johto leage gary's arcanine and nidoqueen, harrisons hypno and steelix. Greta's Hariyama and medicham. Kinda of funny how that works. And well swellow, do i really have to say more. That bird is just straight up awesome. Although i dont like the fact that it doesn't use wing attack anymore its still a buttkicking pokemon, and it has proved that ever since it evolved. I was thinking that since swellow's been so great they would have it lose in the battle with spenser but whipped on venasaur too.

Anyways to what the thread asked, i would have to say b/w charizard and glalie. I would choose charizard, even though glalie is a powerhouse for ash and it proved that in the hoenn league still, the writers have made charizard at a whole different level. I was probably the one who was most ****** off at charizard not battling in the indigo league and ash lost to richie. but still charizard is IMO a little better. Charizard being the first pokemon to battle a legendary from ash's roster that is just makes me realize how much the writers have concentrated on charizard being ash's most powerful pokemon.

I'd say Charizard. Glalie is strong, but as stated before, how many of Ash's pokemon have gone up against a legendary pokemon one on one and won?

OK, I'm sure some of you will remember my initial reaction to Glalie. I have now seen dub Snorunt, and I love the little guy, and look forward to seeing Glalie, who I now rather like. However, Glalie only has one attack which it regularly uses, and that is rather annoying.

Also, Swellow, Kingler, Snorlax and Sceptile are pretty good tanks. People seem to forget Kingler's debut, in which it flattened three fully evolved pokemon, all with a strong advantage over it. It's a shame it's practically forgotten and hasn't been used in so long.

Hm, this is difficult. My second favorite Pokémon vs. my second least favorite Pokémon. Too much stress on my tiny minds ;~; Someone else decide for me, I just can't.
