Why? A Pokemon master isn't the same as being the strongest trainer in the world as said by ash himself in ep6 of this series. Also winning the Elite 4 cup but not the Pokemon world championship can still work.
Ash would just be too powerful to keep around, and it would be even more jarring to do a BW style reset.

Not necessarily if they keep coming up with challenges. He wins the Elite 4 cup? He can still work to win the Pokemon world championship cup. He wins that in the next series? More steps to become a Pokemon master can be invented

Captain Pikachu is EPIC
It's easy to predict
Ash faces the Galar League or the Elite 4 challenge(with some kind of gym quest before maybe) and wins, earning the right to face Leon
Then after an epic battle Ash loses because if he became the strongest trainer of the world this would create some crazy power creep

He can't even compete in the Elite 4 cup unless he gets all the Gym Badges unless Leon decides to give him "special treatment".

It can be something similar to the calibre of an elite 4 cup as well. Which he can enter on account of him having won like about 50 badges, winning a Pokemon league and winning many tournaments throughout the saga

That would also lead to GF having to rush out the Gen 9 games because the anime saga would be too short if they didn't have Ash challenge the Galar Gyms.

Back to Galar

Somehow I hope Grookey or Sobble get introduced in the background. Sort of like Litten's cameo in the first SM episode.

No it wouldn't. Literally there could be so many things to fill in 140 episodes. Him taking on multiple tournaments can easily happen. This style can easily last 3 years. Trials and kahunas lasted this. And this series has infinite content it can cover any region. Idk why you think that. And GF would never rush games for the anime lmao

Trials and Kahunas are essentially the Gym Challenge done in a different format. Also, Sword & Shield were clearly rushed.

Not to mention that we have another protagonist with Go in this season. So, he will have many episodes that focus on him too.

And Koharu will have certain amount of story too.

The cutest EVER!!!!
Finally back in Galar! I hope we see more Galar pokémon in this episode than we did in the Scorbunny and Snorlax ones
Also, it looks like Ash's goal will be win the Pokémon World Tournament, and become the strongest pokémon trainer, it would be awesome if he actually defeats Leon :D

Gmax Snorlax wasn't CGI, why would the others be?
Curious about how the animation is going to be though
Well Gmax Snorlax didn’t really do anything but lay down. We haven’t seen a Dynamax Pokémon in action yet so even if it isn’t in CGI it’s interesting to think about how they’ll go about animating them for battles.

And another thing, Masaaki Iwane is the one animating this episode, and he uses CGI in his own fan work a lot especially when it comes to huge things like mechs, so hey maybe?

He is a champion based on the type of title he has even though he isn't strong as them. And why does it even matter if there weren't requirements, there was a battle royale, ash is the strongest trainer in alola, he is a CHAMPION.
So that's why if he ever loses a Pokemon league it would be idiotic. Him winning an elite 4 cup would be more development. Him winning the Pokemon world championship, outstanding tbh and would make me love this series a lot
It would be entirely reasonable for him to compete in another League and not win it. Heck, I can easily see how that entire arc could play out, with him being super confident about being the Champion of Alola, with other characters (say, a certain Galarian orphan boy wearing a massive pink coat, for example...) being all "Pffft, Alola, big deal! You're the Champion of a region that barely has any battling in it, that won't do you any good in the big leagues!" and Satoshi eventually having to face that... yeah Galar is way tougher than Alola ever was. Naturally the fandom would still spit fire at this development, but really, they could absolutely make it work.

Of course, that would require more attention to community than the show has been willing to pay in a very long time.

Oh, nice try, summary. This is going to be another troll episode like the Ho-oh one.

So is Trip going to show here? I mean, he won the Pokemon World Tournament.

Weird that Ash didn’t get invitation for this Tournament even though he is also a Champion. I guess the Alola League is too recent for them to recognize him.

The Alola League is a league for newbies.

Can you believe you only need a Pokemon to enter.

No, no, no! That's utterly wrong!!!
The World Championship final match simply HAS to have Cynthia in it! Cynthia, not Lance!!!
Are the writers really messing everything up on purpose??

Cynthia has always been portrayed to be the strongest Champion, and thus should at least be in a match that is said to determine the strongest trainer in the world!

This all sound so totally and painfully wrong!!

Lance and Leon?! Pokémon World Championships?!

I can't wait. I also can't wait for it to be a feature in a potential Sword Shield sequel.

Chill, maybe she didn't even enter. lol
Cynthia would never refrain from any tournament, never! She loves battling more than anything else and made it clear in her introductory episode back then in Sinnoh.
There is nothing to suggest Cynthia is the strongest out of all the champions. They choice Lance because he is likely the champion kid parents remember.
If they really wanted to simply bring Lance back, because older fans might remember him, they could have done it in a less important tournament that doesn't determine the world strongest trainer. (Lance sure is stong but clearly not stronger than Cynthia!) Or they could have done a "normal" Hello again-episode featuring him
