Ok, I really don't want to do this, but the surge of 'is xd better than colosseum poll' and 'what is the best improvement of xd' threads is giving me a headache. Please kindly direct all discussions related to THOUGHTS and FEELINGS here. This includes your Favourite Shadow Pokemon, Favourite Shadow Attack, Favourite Character, Favourite Villain, Favourite City or whatsoever.

Just to remind everyone, we also have a 'I have XD' and 'Recent Happenings' sticky.

What The Fudge I guess my favorite Shadow Pokemon in XD is Lugia or Furiizaa. My favorite attack is Freeze chill and I dont have a Favorite Vilian or favorite city or place

I've been playing this game a lot since it came out, and I can say that, without question, THIS is what a 3D Pokemon game SHOULD be. This makes Colosseum look paltry by comparason: in visuals, sound, gameplay balance & pacing, music, and cool little extras.

Yet, after all that, the thing I like the most about XD is that the moves Pokemon come equipped with after purification DON'T SUCK. In fact, a lot of them are pretty good. You will spend a lot of PokeCoupons "re-learning" some tequniques, but that's still an improvement over Colosseum, where that was impossibe entirely.

The attack animations, in general, are in a league all their own. They actually make sense and look good. What a novel concept, Sonority, I know!

Trainers are animated and their models are improved. The little jaggies on some Pokemon models, to my knowledge, have been largely cleaned up.

Movement in overworld areas has been sped up... as well as in-battle animations of Pokemon (ever so slightly). This means I can play XD late at night, and it generally doesn't PUT ME TO SLEEP like Colosseum did.

There really isn't much that was an issue in the previous game that wasn't addressed.

I love this game :)

Favourate Shadow pokemon
I would have to say Articuno, I love Artcuno and seeing it as something as cool as a shadow is amazing

Favourate Shadow Attack
Shadow Chill, it's animation looks realy good (I have only seen the pictures) plus it is articuno's signiture shadow attack

my Impressions of XD (even though I don't own it yet)
I can honestly tell that this is much greater then colosseum, as well as just less then double the amountof shadow pokemon as colosseum, XD dosent focus on only one generation which Colosseum seem to have done (all the shadows were mainly 2nd generation), the shadow pokemon learn exclusive moves once they have been purified, The graphics seem to have been slightly improved, because of the more shadow pokemon you have a larger number of pokemon to choose from. I like the fact that in XD you can choose what to evolve Eevee into, In colosseum you were stuck with Espeon and Umbreon, both of them are always male and are already evolved. I like the fact that XD starts off at the lower levels, level 10, Colosseum started at level 25 and the first shadow pokemon was level 30, which are adverage levels when, if you have them at the lower level of 10 you can raise them to have higher stats then the colosseum pokemon. Plus the pokespot was a great idea, letting you catch some wild pokemon like phanpy, Gligar and Hoppip. The purify Chamber makes purifying easier, it was a pain in the butt to purify pokemon in colosseum, I have only purified 25 myself!
I realy am excited about XD, I can't wait til November 18th so I can get hold of a copy.

Well, for one thing, you don't have a partner following you 24 7. Man. Plus, Wild Pokemon, and a much easier way to purify pokemon. Holayluya, Nintendo Rocks! And, of course, let's not forget the Shadow Lugia

I like because of its expanded storyline. I had too play PC twice before I figured what Cipher is. Here, its story also explains how they will do world domination. In PC, it never said anything about how.

I love it. It is so easy to purify. But, sometimes I feel like I can't keep track of all the shadow pokemon.

Eszett

one love
I feel it's too easy to purify Shadow Pokemon, but otherwise I'm very impressed with this game. The animations look realistic, and while I think the attacks look a bit trite (almost all of them look like energy blobs), they look distinct enough for me to enjoy them. Plus, the animations seem better for the more powerful moves. :]

Overall, this is a great game that I would likely want to play again after completing.

Yeah it's getting stale, Nintendo should hire a plot writer sooner or later. The plot didn't improve much, but it was more exciting and unprodicted in colloseum.

You know what would REALLY be unexpected, your Dad (in XD) the leader of Cipher!

So far, I've been having a blast. Aside from the improved graphics, there's many tasks and games within. Inbetween the main story, I've been obsessively running back and forth to PokéSpots, the Lab to finish purification, and Realgam Tower to try out Battle Discs and Battle Bingo. There's so much to do, so if I get bored with one routine, I could easily switch to another. I'm taking my sweet time to enjoy the game, and I feel rewarded immensely.

Bonsly and Munchlax are adorable (especially Bonsly!), and I thought that the cameos themselves were a treat.

Also, as one who happened to really enjoy Colosseum, I was overjoyed to see such trainers as Cail, Willie, Dash (Castform!), and Justy to return, and that some of the Pokémon overworld figures had evolved. I would've been even more satisfied if there was a stronger reference to Wes and Rui (at least what became of them), but alas.

All I want now is that flippin' tease of a Zangoose, as I've always wanted one but Emerald prevented that from happening. ;_;
