FFX Help

Nick Mckenzie

dddddddddddddddddddd
We (well, really my mum, I don't play it) need help on defeating Yunalesca on FFX. Mum keeps on getting killed by her. She was going good, and then Yunalesca used Mega Death and killed everyone. So, she wants help. Any help would be good, obviously.

Or you could turn your entire party to zombies mid battle. Zombified characters are immune to instant death spells... >_>;;

Ahhh, Lady Yunalesca. That beech. >>; I hated her.

One of your best bets is to take Latios's advice. Level up. I used Yuna, Tidus, and Rikku for the battle my first time through IIRC, and I leveled up so much both Yuna and Rikku could cast Holy on her. >> Tore her into shreds, that it did.

Actually, Lady Yunalesca does that herself in the form of "Hell Biter." She then proceeds to cast Cura/Curaga and Regen on Zombified characters.

Get armour that has the "DeathProof" ability on it. Totally negates "Mega Death" ;o

Second or third hardest story battle in the game. The only other ones harder are Flux and the final boss IMO.

You don't need a lot of levels, nor do you need Auto-Life. My recommendation is when she does Hell Biter, keep only one person as a Zombie. That way you won't really have to worry about healing. Have a Zombiestrike weapon handy on Yuna/Lulu just in case something goes wrong. I recommend Tidus/Wakka/Auron, switching Yuna/Lulu in as needed. When she does Mega Death and your other two people die, your next character uses a Mega Phoenix. Then you're back in business. Then you can bring in Yuna to cast Life on the character who used the Mega Phoenix (remember, revival spells kill zombies) or just use a Phoenix Down. There will always be a Hell Biter before she casts Mega Death again, just repeat until you take out her 120,000 HP.

Personally I had more trouble with Seymour Flux. He's like...the only boss I ever died on...

^ Bahamut > All bosses. Though then again, I raised my character's stupidly well, and Bahamut was doing like 45'000 1 Mega Flare. And then I went and got Blitz Ace before Flux. I believe that Overkilling bosses is always fun.

My stratergy is similar, but has two variations. The first is for if you got Yojimbo before Mt. Gagazet, the other if not.

Plan 1:
Set up: Tidus, Auron, Yuna. Yuna needs Holy, and you need all your Aeons to have full Overdrive bars. If Yuna has one as well, all the better. Also, a large store of money will help.

Form 1: Physical attacks from Tidus and Auron. Holy from Yuna. Keep MP and HP up. That's all for now.

Form 2: Keep up the physical attacks and Holy. Keep HP up, but DON'T HEAL ZOMBIFIED CHARaCTERS. Unless they are REALLY low health, then un-zombie them, restore their HP. Just make sure 1 character, preferably Yuna, is in Zombie.

Form 3: Have whoever is alive after Megadeath either revive Yuna, or, if it is Yuna, have her either Grand or normal Summon Yojimbo, and give him all your cash, then cross your fingers. If you're lucky, Zanmato will end it before things get ugly. Otherwise, nuke her with all your remaining Aeons. Bahamut should always be the first one after Yojimbo. Why? Mega Flare breaks the Damage Limit from the get go. I used in in Plan 2, 45'000 damage.

Plan 2:
Set up: YOU NEED YUNA WITH GRAND SUMMON. And all your Aeons with Full Overdrive Bars. Also, you need Yuna to have Holy. Finally, Tidus and Auron back up. Yojimbo though is not required.

Forms 1 + 2: Same as above, make sure to end Form 2 with at least 1 person in Zombie.

Form 3: Live through Megadeath, then either revive Yuna or have her Grand Summon Bahamut. It helps if Bahamut's really powerful. Mega Flare, then, if you can, Mega Flare again. She'll either be dead or near dead. Then, once Bahamut falls, Shiva, Ixion, Ifrit then Valefor in that order of Overdrives. If Yunalesca ain't dead after that you've neglected your Aeons.

The simple man's stratergies, aka Zanmato Quid Quo Pro and Aeon Overdrive Nuke. Not the most impressive wins, but the Overdrives look cool and it get's the job done in record time.

Customise somebody with armour that has Deathproof using the Farplane Winds obtained from the monster arena. Try and keep at least one of the other characters a zombie. She'll always cast Mega-Death as she becomes her final form. After this hit her with Wakka's Attack Reels. You can do about 12 * 6000 damage if strong enough which should suffice to kill her. If Attack Reels doesn't do the job straight away, use Mega Flare which should do her in.

Now you see me...
Like everyone says, Zombie's are your friends.

Personally, if you can't kill her with the strongest summons, I wouldn't bring any other ones out - she tends to drain life from the summons, and gets a bit back. Hence it's better to use only the strongest. XD Bahumut, etc. Yojimbo if you have him. (I didn't the first time.)

Dangit, I wanna go play it again now.

Save your Aeons/Overdrives until Yunalesca gets to her third form. So long as your characters are dealing a few thousand points of damage per hit then it's alright. Make sure Yuna gets Holy before the battle (9999 damage), because it greatly helps. In the second round, she'll attack you with Hellbiter, likely zombifying your characters, so don't heal, because in the final round she'll wipe you out. If your characters are zombified however, this won't happen.

Just keep your Aeons and Overdrives untilt he final form, Bahamut should, ideally, be dealing about 20,000 points of damage, Yuna + Holy really helps, as does Blitz Ace with Tidus and Attack Reels with Wakka.

I thought none of the Aeons except Anima and The Magus Sisters were capble of breaking 9999 without having a certain weapon.

But it's been too long since I've played.
Bahamut is under that category alongside those two. Which, incidentally, is terribly useful at the point in the game you get him.
