Fic with chapter issues

I've got a fic that's on 11 parts by now, but the problem is that it takes me months to write a single chapter. Now, on places like Bulbagarden where there's no trimming deadline, it's not really a problem, but here it poses quite the quandary.

Should I post it here, knowing that it'll get trimmed and I'll probably have to repost sooner or later? Or should I just hold off until it's finished (which could be years)?

Could just have a 'legal bump squad' which is like 4/5 friends that one, once a month will post a review, and make it so the thread does not die. Giving you 5months to write a chapter

I don't think the fanfic forum is pruned often at all. The other day had the first reply to my fic in three months, and it hadn't been pruned. =/

EDIT: The oldest fics still surviving in the forums since the last pruning were last replied to in October 2005, so you shouldn't have a problem there. Gives you eight months per chapter.

Some fics die because of lack of use and are eventually deleted after a year or so. Other times the authors leave the forums - or lose access to their accounts, which is what happened to me with my old account.

Well, I went and looked at the 12th page and it only has from the end of May, so hence the last month...

Go to display options at the bottom of the page, click the tag that says 'Last Month' then click 'Beginning'. Then click 'Last' or whatever it is. I reached Late October last year with this.
