SPOILER WARNING, SPOILER WARNING!
;330; OK, a few things to say before you read this. Yes, I know that all my one-shots titles belong with final, so don’t tell me. This one-shot is both the epilogue of Emerald Lands, so this has a lot of spoilers for that fic, plus it is the real prologue to New Land, New Heroes, so it will answer some questions. Finally, I have done the impossible, I have linked together the Emerald Plot, a total fantasy story set in a new region with new Pokemon, and an AAML together. This is why it is called Final Link. The link between New Land, New Heroes and the AAML will appear shortly, and the link between Emerald Lands and my AAML will also be mentioned in here. So here is The Final Link.

I sit here, bathed in the warm glow of a fire. It’s been 19 years since I got married, yet every thing that has happened is still fresh in my mind, as if it only happened yesterday. The first thing that stands out in my mind is when Nylf revealed himself. Who would have thought that light hearted Flygon was Rayquaza all along? Ah well, it was a weird day.
Suila and Tac possessed by Groudon and Kyogre, and it turning out that my Flygon, was the reincarnation of Rayquaza, Mantine was a reborn Kyogre and that stupid Nidoking was really Groudon’s second life. I’m glad that Nylf returned to being Flygon afterwards, and that even as Rayquaza he was still the same Nylf, traumatised by Ice-type attacks, and his new saying being “Give it up for da Black Dragon!”. Ah well, that was the day me and Suila finally admitted our feelings, so it was a good day overall.
Then there came my wedding day. Tac and Flannery were there, Tac dressed in a tuxedo and Flannery dressed in a luxurious red gown, and Nylf was the Best Dragon, but he stayed in his Flygon form. Grandpa was pleased, he had liked Suila since he had met her. That was one of the best days of my life.
Then there was the ultimate battle. Deoxys arrived on Earth, an red mutant with an ever changing form, from a humanoid shape with a gem in the centre, to a living weapon with whips for arms and blades on his head, and I had to use the Black Emerald to turn Nidoking, Mantine and Nylf back into Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre to stop him from destroying the world. I almost lost Suila that day. Am I glad Deoxys decided to rejoin the Legendary Council, and Nylf called in a favour from Ho-oh, the oldest creature on the planet, due to his frequent rebirths.
And let’s not forget the trip to the Cave of Destiny. Carved out by the first Celebi, it possessed a bright green glow, and awakened the fondest memories inside oneself. My first kiss with Suila, the day I got Nylf, my wedding day and the day I discovered that Tac had been cheating on Suila. All those memories came back clearer than ever. That was when we found out my son, who was soon to be born, was destined for the ultimate fight, twice! He would have friends to assist him, and he too would have a Flygon. We also found out that Ho-oh was destined to return to the Tower in Rick’s lifetime, through the efforts of two kids, Ash and Misty, and a Pikachu. There were other names recorded, such as Kai, Kionna, Keiko, Kyle and Rinoa, but they were not of my interest.
Then the worst day of my life came. It had to be done in secret, otherwise Nylf would be returned to being a pure Flygon. Myself and Suila took our newly born son, Rick, to the Whirlwind Plains in Astra. It was a stormy night, there were whirlwinds everywhere, and almost all the Pokemon were unseen. It was perfect. No-one could see us. We placed Rick, wrapped in a cloth, in a bush by the League HQ. Nylf then placed his egg nearby. We then quietly left, and that was the last time I saw Rick. The legendaries collected him a short time afterwards, and thanks to the fact that Nylf was kept in the know by his father in the Sacred Four of Astra, we found out that when he was five he chose to go ahead and fight the ultimate evil, and when he was 11 a foster family raised him. That is all we know now. Nothing much has happened for the last four years.
The memories are all I have, other than my reputation. I’m now the best trainer worldwide. I keep a low profile, so I enjoy a quiet life. No-one has challenged me in a long time, and Suila is doing fine in her research at the weather institute. Tac and Suila decided to leave Nidoking and Mantine in Kyogre and Groudon’s dens, so that if anyone does attempt to bring them back, they will be there. We cannot prevent destiny, and if someone is destined to awaken Groudon and Kyogre again, I will let them. Nylf went through mitosis a while ago, so there is a new Rayquaza in Hoenn, and he can enjoy the rest of his life as a Shiny Flygon, instead of a Shiny Rayquaza. He loves the lack of pressure that comes with the quiet life, and I agree with him. It’s good to be the best, but no fun if you’re always challenged. I only wish I knew what my son was doing right now.
As the mysterious man reminisces, an immense rainbow coloured bird flies from the western continent of Johto, to the southern continent of Astra……
This is a prologue/epilogue, so it is slightly shorter than one chapter. I posted it seperately because I can't put it in Emerald Lands yet, and it's too late to put it in New land, New Heroes.
