Final Yu Yu Hakusho Thoughts

Okay, it seems not many were able to watch this on television since CN kicked it out of Toonami and eventually stuck it at 5:30 in the morning, but I'm sure many of you have seen it one way or another. Just wanted to kinda wrap discussion on this show up, since, at least in America, it recently ended (a little more than a week ago or something).

Personally, this show was pretty good. It started off great with the pre-Spirit Detective episodes, then sure, it slowly drifted to DBZ-like plots, but it's still been a nice show to watch. The Dark Tournament was VERY long, but it was okay. Sensui arc was interesting, spirit detective vs. spirit detective, and the Three Kings arc was a nice way to finish the series up.

Then of course, the final episode was superb. Great animation, nice series-ending plot, and everything ends off happily with Yusuke and Keiko tyin' up bonds and everything. :)

So what did you think of this series?

Yu Yu Hakusho was definitely one of my favorite animes. I loved the ending, as you did. Great animation and a good way for Keiko and Yusuke to wrap things up. 8D

My friends refuse to say that its over. They're just too obsessed. xD

Well, my highlight was seeing Kuwabara's return. Seeing how he's grown in maturity and responsibility (and his relationships with the ladies) was very entertaining.

Considering Kuwabara wasn't in the Three Kings arc, that storyline was a bit weaker than the others, but that's my bias kicking in I suppose, lol. Well, the return of Jin, Chuu, and the others from the Dark Tournament was a plus (although watching them get knocked out by nobodies in the second round was monotonous).

I'm stuck on deciding which arc was the best, but I'd probably have to go with the whole Chapter Black arc. I also enjoyed the storyline of Maze Castle when the four protagonists (being Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei) fought together for the first time.

Finally episode = Love.

The only reason I even began to watch Yu Yu Hakusho was because of Yuusuke and Keiko's relationship, which was just awesome in the first (I dunno, 20?) episodes. Then, after the defeat of the Saint Beasts or whatever, it began to go downhill, and seem more like DBZ with all the useless tournament fighting which bored me. XD I just liked the character moments, not the fights.

It was pretty fine. I like the final episode. That pretty sad, though, that Yu Yu Hakusho anime is finally over (wishes for Yusuke's descendant series).
