They finally make a squirrel pokemon,and the scorpion one shouldn't be a bug and poison type like this one?;049;
And why do they put such strange colors on grass pokemon like red?
I think they're trying to confuse us.;201-m;
This is my opinion on the new pokemon give me yours.;026;

Yeah, what he said.

Maybe the grass one is an autumy pokemon? Its a flower anyway, so I don't see a problem in its color scheme.

Im kinda tired of electric rodents. I just hope this one has a good stat other than just speed to boast about...

Shouldn't this be in the D/P thread?

Anyways, Cherimu is based off a Sakura or cherry blossom, which are supposed to be red.

Scorpions aren't bugs. They're in the same phylum and kingdom as them, but that doesn't make them bugs. Besides, Dark/Poison is an interesting type combination, with only one weakness to Ground.

Shame the squirrel one is probably the Pika clone. He's my favorite :(. Well, at least I know he evolves.

The grass pokemon in question is based off the sakura blossoms. In fact, if you look at a tree of sakura blossoms in full bloom, all you see is pink. Oh and brown if you look at the tree itself. No green leaves though.

Google 'sakura blossoms' and see for yourself.

I believe scorpions are in their own class of invertebrates, separate from bugs and insects. Dorapion owns, btw *nod* Only weakness is ground, immune psychic. Yay >.>

The squirrel...is just another electric pokemon of the order of 'rodentia', also known as rodents. At least it doesn't look like Pikachu though. Yeah, I'm looking at you Plusle and Minun.

That squirrel should be dark type. Everyone knows that squirrels are evil.

That squirrel should be obliterated. I can't stand the ugly thing. They could have given us a cool and decent Electric type but nooo they give us this ugly deformed insult to squirrels.

Oh, and newsflash! Not all Grass types are Green. Vileplume certainly isn't, nor Tangela.

Oh yeah, try not to abuse the smilies too much, it makes people get mad, you see.

Neither are spiders.

I agree, the rodent should be Dark. Why they didn't make Plusle and Minun Dark is a mysterie to me.

Sure scorpions aren't bugs, but they are arachnids, like spiders, and we have bug type Spinarak and Ariados, but I'm happy with it being Poison/Dark. But another Pika-clone, jeez! We don't need anymore cruddy Electric types.
I hope this new Grass type is atleast decent, their aren't really many good Grass types.

Cause plusle and minun were crap.

And technically, there is only one phylum of bugs and it does not include arachnids, nor insects.

Aridos...was he a spider? if so, and he was a bug, then dorpion has the ability to be a bug type. The type combo of poison and dark reveals that it is, however, more versitile and different from a regular bug type to be one of its own.

EDIT: water types rule beat me to it on the aridos factor...

Why is Venomoth and Beedrill not half-flying types? There are some PKMN that can't fit in the types they need. I think Poison/Dark is one of the new type combos they were talking about. IMO, it's a good one that suits Doripion.

I'm baaaaaack
Chipmunks FTW.

Poison and Dark would be an awesome combo for a pokemon.

Meh, I didn't like the Scorpion one too much. It reminds me of something, something I saw once in a cartoon or a dream, but I can't place it. It's really strange looking though. Kind of disturbing really. It looks like it could just start talking to you about some diabolical plan any second.

The squirrel is... decent I suppose. When I first saw it I thought it had a gold ring/piercing on its tail and I was thinking, "Oh cool. A rocker squirrel!" But then I took a better look and said... meh. I do have a fondness for squirrels so I’ll probably end up catching it for my first go through the game.

I love the little grass one. It's absolutely adorable! It’s about time we got a Sakura Blossom one. The Sakura blossoms are part of the Japanese culture so you’d think we’d get this little guy sooner. I guess not, but that little guy will definitely, without question, be apart of my team. I can’t wait!

:eek: *Launches nearby lamp* Only because you don't know how to use 'em! Grass pokemon are not like fire or dragon pokemon when you just put flamethrower and Earth Quake on them and call it a day. Any noob can do that. Grass pokemon take strategy to use effectively and in the right hands are monstrous and are almost guaranteed to take down at least one pokemon out of your team before you even realize what they’re doing.

In my opinion... these new Pokémon are all stranger in design than any previous generation, especially the Dorapion.

True, but there should be at least one powerful attack like [flamethrower] for em, right? Like a solarbeam without the wait...I know you'd like it if there was, everyone would! What's your ideal grass moveset for your strategy, though. I'm curious. If I sound sarcastic, Im not trying to be.

Im glad they're having a new design though. Cherryharry or whatever the grass is looks like sunflora and togepi and pichu and pikachu...er...squirrelthing looks too much like pikachu/rattata. Dorpion has a totally unique design.

Yes i'd also like to see how you use a grass pokemon, i do personally use sceptile and vileplume

omg more of those god forsaken baby pokes, y do they keep creating those things some of em should never have been drawn. messing up perfectly good pokes theyre terrible at battling most of em look really stupid and even in the card game theyre becoming useless because they took away the flip-a-coin advantage.

Also the design for some of these newer pokes is getting a bit ridiculous, don't get me wrong i'm very happy to see a good poison type finally but i meat the electric rodent is a travesty. and that scorpion may be "unique" but its still kinda out there, and those legendaries, look like something off of transformers, this started in the 3rd gen too, with mawile, wth is that?
if you don't have anything nice to draw, dont draw anything at all
