Ive came up with a poll so here it is.

Charizard lovers, dont you think its obvious that Charizard was a good pokemon?

Well,there's something wrong with it.

The question is:

Charizard's final level up attack is Dragon Rage / SRY its fire spin

Blastoise's final level up attack is Hydro pump

Venusaur's final level up attack is Solarbeam

THERE IT IS!!!Charizard should learn Fire Blast as the final level up attack.

But instead it learns Dragon Rage

I stick with Fire blast what about you guys?
Well what do you think? Should Charizard learn Fire Blast as its final level up attack? Or should it left over with Dragon Rage?

No.

There are many things wrong with it. For example, its Special movepool consists exclusively of Fire and Dragon moves. And Bite.

Charizard's final level up attack is Dragon Rage

Blastoise's final level up attack is Hydro pump

Venusaur's final level up attack is Solarbeam

If the designers wished for Charizard to learn Fire Blast as its final level-up move, they would ahve programmed that from the start.

No, it shouldn't. One can procure as many Fire Blast TMs as they wish. Hydro Pump doesn't even have its own TM, and Solarbeam can only be had once.

Wow. *gives you a gold star*

No. It is the worst starter ever. AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT SMOGON SAYS, K?

Well,there's something wrong with it.
"Something"? You make it seem like it was the only thing. ;\

Good job.

But instead it learns Dragon Rage
Maybe because it looks like a dragon?

Well, while Fire Blast is, indeed, more logical. It just plain sucks. Fire Blast is one of thw worst moves ever and can be taught by a TM. It isn't worth the wait. Dragon Rage, while bad, is more usable than Fire Blast and a tad cooler.
So, no~

IIRC, Fire Blast is also only avaliable once in FR/LG. You get it when you beat Blaine and can't buy another.

Eh, ragazzo!
Why should it even learn Dragon Rage if there is Seismic Toss. The only two things wrong with Seismic Toss is...

Only one in game.
Can't hit ghost.

I would teach it Flamethrower, Fire Blast, and perhaps Blast Burn instead, depending on what you want.

Would you rather have a monstorously powerful attack, an attack that last, or an attack so powerful, it can swipe most of a pokemon's HP.

seems like no one likes Charizard anymore..........-_-

Maybe because it has a great physical movepool but only a sub-par base 84 attack stat to back up? =o I don't think that the fact it has a good special attack but only fire moves, bite, a special HP and dragon claw as its special attacks helps either.

...and the fanbase...

Nobody bothers with Hidden Power ingame. ;[

Besides, why should this matter anyway? Charizard learns Flamethrower by level up, which is a good deal better than Fire Blast.

We have a winnar :D!!!

Hydro Pump sucks, Blastoise doesn't need it, and that's that.
Solar Beam. >_> Lets leave it at that.
Fire Blast. FB gets OWNED by FT.

So yeah, in fact, Charizard gets the best move. :O

Oh and reasons not to like charizard:
Fanbase
Stat Mess Up
Fanbase
Over Rated and Used
Fanbase
Plus many more.

Who cares if Charizard is fanbased? I won't stop disliking something if it became popular. This is one of many things wrong with people today.
I, myself, like Charizard dispite his flaws. Charmander is a salamander. :D

Since there is one Fire blast I wont teach it to a Charizard if it can learn Flamethrower, heat wave(in FR/LG) and Blast burn(in FR/LG). There is really no point to me.

IMO Dragon Rage is quite useless when Charizard learns it... 40 HP is uber in the 20s (when Gyara and Dratini learn it) and nice in the 30s but it doesn't quite cut it if you're lvl. 50+... so if given the choice between those 2 I'd say FB.

You forgot TRA, that's reason enough to not like Charizard.

TRA get his own category 'cause he's too stupid for fanbase :D

There's nothing wrong with being popular. The problem is when such popularity is mainly formed by dumb people that think the target for their fandom is much better than anything else in the world. I know of fanbases, but Charizard's is one of the most annoying there is. Yes, there are FEW select individuals that are Charizard fans and aren't annoying pricks that think it's the say all, end all of every other Pokémon, but they're scarce...

But well. Maybe they shouldn't be blamed that much, I reckon. Half the fault was by Nintendo, making Charizard an 00ber trump card of doom in the Anime (Where a vast majority of newbies get or got their first insight on Pokémon...), and most of all, having it in the GS intro, standing up as a major icon of the franchise. Heck... it's VERY sad to see there's only 3 2nd Gen Pokémon in the GS Intro, and there's 6 of the 1st Gen... but that's a rant for another day.

Heck... I like all Starters. They're all OK Pokémon and all look cool. And I even prefer Charizard to Sceptile, despite Sceptile being better in Battles. In Grass Pokémon terms, I'd rather go with another one, for Sceppy is almost in the bottom of my Grass List. And while in Fire terms I'd go with Magmar, Ho-Oh, Moltres and even Houndoom before Charizard, I prefer it to the rest... =/

And well... it should get Fire Blast. Yep. But it's nice that they at least broke a pattern for once, so, it's OK... =/

And well... FrenzyPlant wins this Thread. :D:D:D

I voted for ...... whatever that choice means?

I dislike both dragon rage and fire blast,my charizard knows:-

charizard lv.90 @ charcoal
blast burn
flamehtrower
swords dance
mega punch

It may not seem that good to others but IMO my charizard rocks!

I say keep Dragon Rage. Besides, only Solarbeam is the only worthwhile 120-power elemental attack that is good. Fire Blast and Hydro Pump have poor accuracy, and can only be used five times, so it doesn't really matter. If Charizard learns Flamethrower, and Blastoise Surf and Ice Punch, Hydro Pump and Fire Blast aren't necessary.

Thats what I was saying, basicallt the accuracy of fire blast is disgraceful, one double team/sand attack and your ruined.

***NOTE: Double Team and Sand-Attack aren't good moves.***

OT: Fire Blast will miss anyway, being that its accuracy is under 80%.

Dragonfree

Just me
Well, I don't particularly think it should be learning Fire Blast rather than like Overheat or something, but it definitely should not be Dragon Rage. At that level, it's just plain useless, and attacks are supposed to be getting better as the Pokémon grows... :/

*points to sig* "Remember, kids, just because n00bs tend to like a Pokémon, it doesn't make everybody who likes it a n00b." I like Charizard, and I'm not going around trying to tell everybody it's strong in competitive battling since I know it's not. Just lay off me if I happen to like it for my own personal reasons, okay?

EDIT: Fire Blast's accuracy was either 85% or 90% last time I checked. It's Hydro Pump that's 80% and Thunder and Blizzard that are 70%. Fire Blast really isn't that bad on paper, its average damage being higher than Flamethrower's, but the awful PP and simple fact that most people prefer reliability make Flamethrower a better choice for the most part.
