Wonder if this thread will be locked...It does sort of have to do with downloading, but not the illegal kind.
Well, ADV has put up their dub of the first episode of Utawarerumono. It's $4.99 for the download I think. I'm probably going to get it to check it out later today. Ugh, I hope the image they have up isn't the box art.
Hm, I wonder what they used. Eruruu or Eluluu?
EDIT: They have a one minute trailer for free download. Unfortunately, none of the voices are heard. I couldn't help but laugh when the guy said the title. He pronounced it correctly, but the way he said it...
EDIT2: Finally downloaded and watched the episode. Heh, ended up having to download Windows Media Player 11 to get the codec to play the file. ADV put protection on the episode so only the one who paid for and downloaded it can watch it. Anyway, the dub is good. And they did use Eluluu instead of Eruruu. I guess I can see why I guess. It is one of the more difficult names to pronounce (long ones excluded) and it's not like ADV practices proper pronunciation...As far as I can tell, all the voices fit well. Even Eluluu and Aruruu's, even though they weren't as small and cute as the Japanese voices. The only one that didn't sit well with me was Nuwangi's voice done by Greg Ayres. Ayres did a great job (why is it that bad people usually sound great?), but I think it might be because I always see him as Chrno. Another thing is that there will most likely be lots of people who'll say that the dub lacks emotion or edge or whatever. Well, that's because Japanese and English are completely different languages and are spoken differently.
Oh yeah, the part where Hakuoro touches Eruruu's tail is still better in Japanese. A smaller, cuter voice sounds better for something like that. Heh...
Can't wait for more of Aruruu.
