First Pokémon rumour you heard

Mew is under the truck, and if you grab the keys and drive the truck a little, you can capture Mew! Oh, Flareth & Pikablu were good rumours too, as well as the eventual Togepi rumour. Least Missingno's turned out to be kind of true.

So, what was the first rumour you heard/fake cheat you tried?

The first rumor i heard was that behind bill's house there was a mew and the only way to get there was to catch missingno. and beat the elite four 56 times

The first rumor I heard was that if you use strength on that weird truck in the game a pokeball with Mew would be under it.

for me it was how to get all 3 starter pokemon on red and blue without trading. It involved using the ghost storage box.

Well, of course it was the Mew thing, that I, along with everyone else in the world attempted.

A few more I remember:

-You could evolve Dragonite or Dragonair (forgot which one) into Yoshi
-You could get a Togepi egg in Yellow
-When Lugia was first revealed, people were saying that it was Articuno's evolved form....yeah...
-You could get Pikablu or Pikaflare (forgot which one) by getting the Raichu the lady on Cinnibar Island said evolved when you traded it to her.

IT'S NOT IN ANY VERSION.
You can only get mew through the mew glitch or a Nintendo event but they don't have them anymore.

This one is actually half true. It's because, IIRC, in the japanese version the lady asked for a pokemon that evolved through trade (Can't remember the pokemon) and the translating team was too stupid and/or lazy to edit. :\

Anyways, the first I heard was about Missing No. Though that's true. :/ So... I think it was something about Bill's yard and Pikablu.

I think it was either the "Mew under the truck" rumor or some rumor about being able to catch ultra-rare Pokemon if you pulled off some trick to get over the fence posts surrounding route...whichever one is between Pallet Town and Viridian City.

I heard the mew one many times, another I remember was if you talk to the thirsty girl at the top of the shopping mall (it was the shopping mall, wasn't it?) one million times she will say you're annoying and give you a Togepi to leave her alone.
